Young at Art Museum
751 SW 121 Ave., Davie;
(954) 424-0085; YoungAtArtMuseum.org

This totally kid-centric art museum is home to four permanent exhibits including WonderScapes, an Alice In Wonderland–themed space designed just for kids ages four and under. With tons of hands-on opportunities, the exhibit encourages toddlers to create art, use letters, learn shapes and colors and much more. The museum also hosts weekly early childhood programs, so check the site for info.

Grapeland Water Park
1550 NW 37 Ave.; Miami;
(305) 960-2950; MiamiGov.com/parks

When you need to cool off from the heat, head to this colorful pirate-themed water park that’s open from March to September. Start by getting your tot’s feet wet in the recreational pool -- it has a gradual, beach-like entry so you can splash in the shallow end. Then visit Shipwreck Island, the toddler zone where you’ll find slower-moving waterslides, or share a relaxing tube ride on the park’s big lazy river.

Cool Beans Indoor Playground
1701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., Palm Beach Gardens;
(561) 627-1782; CoolBeansPlayCafe.com

Let this indoor playground come to your rescue on a rainy day. With inflatable slides, a giant foam pit, trampolines, a story-time nook and a costume corner, there are plenty of ways for an antsy toddler to blow off steam, while you de-stress with a cup of tea and a healthy snack in the cafe.

Playmobil FunPark
8031 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens;
(561) 691-9880; PlaymobilUSA.com

Housed in a replica toy castle, this unique spot lets you experience the world of Playmobil like never before. All of their popular play sets are set out on low, colorful tables in the giant play space, which is divided into fun themes like medieval village, fairy-tale princess and wildlife park. And with a $1 entry fee, you won’t mind splurging on a new toy for your tot in the well-stocked gift shop as you leave.

Butterfly World
3600 W. Sample Road, Coconut Creek;
(954) 977-4400; ButterflyWorld.com

Get ready to watch the wonder in your toddler’s eyes (and snap some adorable photos) as you walk into this butterfly-filled paradise. First, check out some caterpillars in the Butterfly Farm and Lab Encounter, then come face to face with thousands of exotic butterflies in the Tropical Rain Forest Aviary as they flutter around, and maybe even land on your tot’s shoulder! There’s also a cool suspension bridge to run across and a bug museum to keep little minds occupied.
