Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

When will I start needing maternity clothes?

Re: When will I start needing maternity clothes?

The Bump Expert

Depends on the person! Here's how it happened for some Bumpies...

“At 13.5 weeks, I've just started wearing some maternity. Some of it is just way too big still and some of my regular clothes are too tight, so I'm in the awkward transition stage.” - JnJ04

“I probably started wearing maternity clothes at 16 weeks, but I can still fit into some regular clothes with my tummy sleeve.” - TheDudleys

“I've been in maternity pants since 6-7 weeks for comfort (this is my 4th so I got big pretty fast), shirts closer to 15 wks.” - MichelleWP

“I’ve been in maternity clothes since about 10 weeks.” - Pamela82

“I started wearing some maternity clothes at around 11 weeks.” - vande2006

“I bought my first round of maternity clothes quite early -- about nine weeks. It was just baby bloat at that point, but it never really went away, and at 18 weeks I have a nice firm baby belly!” - Mrs.Meyer

“I bought maternity at about 12 wks, just because I so desperately needed a new bra! And I ended up buying several other items, including a belly band. I have been interspersing some maternity items with my regular clothes, as I can still wear most of my normal clothes, some with the belly band and some still without. Luckily, regular non-maternity styles are fairly maternity friendly (empire waist tops and dresses, stretchy gauchos, etc), and it is easy to mix them into a maternity wardrobe. (I am 15 wks now.)” - SPBGBRIDE

“At almost 17 weeks I'm still in all of my regular clothes. I'm not sure when I'll start in maternity clothes yet, but absolutely every woman is different and among my friends I don't see any trend for who will show sooner. I expected to be obviously showing by now because I'm so short waisted, but I haven't gained any weight and I'm looking normal. (Well, normal with bbs that have nearly doubled in size...)” - staryeyes

“I was in maternity pants by 9 weeks” - boulder, cobride

“I started wearing maternity clothes at home on the weekends at about 16 weeks. I held off wearing them at work until closer to 18 weeks. I outgrew my shirts first because my boobs just could not fit into a regular shirt! I wore over-sized sweaters through February. I was down to one or two pairs of work pants I could wear by 18-19 weeks, and had to use a Bella Band so I could wear them unzipped. Even now at 23 weeks, I'm still too small for some of my pants. The transition period seems to be lasting a long time.” - sistrkate

“I started wearing maternity at around 12 weeks, and while a couple of my more forgiving elastic waist pre-pg skirts are still wearable, I'm mostly out of my regular clothes.” - batsteph

”I started wearing maternity pants at 14 weeks or so. I couldn't take wearing my pants unbuttoned anymore. So I went to Old Navy and bought a bunch of yoga pants. I knew they fit then and would stretch as well so I would be able to continue to wear them. I am 18 weeks now and they still fit comfortably and I still have much more room to grow. - cnickler

“I had to buy new bras at 8 weeks as that was the first thing to grow. I stopped fitting into my jeans at 3 months.” - taurusbride

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

11 weeks - more for comfort than anything else. Plus, using a ponytail holder on my regular jeans just made me feel frumpy.

SmellyPug | May 08 , 2007 5:36 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I'm at 19 weeks, and haven't yet. However, I can only fit into some of my looser clothing. Two days ago I went to the maternity stores but everything I tried on looked ridiculously big. A friend told me that I should raid my husband’s closet; she hasn't met him. He is 6' 7" and 240lbs. His clothes make the maternity dresses look tailored! Right now I'm digging through my wardrobe looking for larger sizes and elastic waists.

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

i'm 20 weeks and am just now braving the stores for real maternity clothes. i think it really matters on how you feel in the clothes you have and how fast your belly is growing. i teach preschool, so i own a lot of cotton clothes that stretch really well. i found as i was shopping for maternity clothes, that if you are able and willing, you can buy clothes as you grow or simply look for materials that will breathe and grow with you. happy shopping!

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I'm 21 weeks and still not in maternity clothes entirely! I just bought a couple of pants a size or 2 up from what I normally wear. Those are starting to get snug now, but I'm holding out - the bella bands are a great way to hold off on the maternity bottoms. I have bought a couple maternity pieces, but I've not entirely converted yet! :)

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I started wearing some maternity clothes around 12 weeks. I love clothes and started to feel very uncomfortable in my normal clothes. I still have about 4 pairs of my pre-pregnancy pants that fit, but thats it. I am 14 and 3 days. I am so much more comfortable now!

spitzsings | July 01 , 2007 10:08 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I had to buy pants at almost 7 weeks... I got shirts too while I was there but some of them are still a little big in the belly area. I think they are really comfortable! I am now 10 weeks!

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

Bought my first maternity pants at 6wks, 4th child and i feel i'm going to show faster than before!

ivelinirose | July 17 , 2007 1:54 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I am about 28-29 weeks and can still fit into 2 pairs of my regular jeans. I started wearing maternity shirts at about 23 weeks because I am not one of those women to "bare her belly" and maternity tops do not ride up.

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I started to wear maternity pants at 10 weeks. My regular pants were just too tight after I ate. I am much more comfortable but miss the stylish jeasn.

mhuber23 | July 18 , 2007 4:48 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

First pregnancy I was out of my normal pants at about 8 weeks; this time I made the switch at about 4 weeks - even though I had been losing weight, the waists were too snug and I had a bump already. Bought a couple inconspicuous maternity shirts just to have something long enough to cover the hideous elastic waists! I miss my regular clothes, but they make some decent maternity stuff.

happysparkle | July 30 , 2007 10:43 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I was in maternity pants by 9 weeks! Now I'm 12 weeks & can't wear any of my old clothes except a few baggy shirts I had. I couldn't believe how fast I grew.

shortydaisi | August 21 , 2007 1:35 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

Week 18 and 19 were huge transition weeks for me... going from no maternity to full maternity. It's crazy how fast it happens!

orouram | August 28 , 2007 1:27 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I am 10 weeks and woke yesterday morning to discover I can't button my pants. At first I was a little freaked out (it is my first pregnancy), thinking I was gaining weight too fast, but it seems my waist is just really much wider now. I was always small, so I guess I can just tell. I'm going maternity shopping today for some pants only--I feel weird holding my pants with an elastic because they pouf out.

veruca_salt0722 | October 05 , 2007 1:41 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I think by week 10 I was wearing maternity pants because most of my form fitting clothes were just too uncomfortable. I still fit into some of my regular clothes now at 14 weeks, but the minute anything feels too tight, it gets put aside. Life is too short to be uncomfortable with what you are wearing!! :)

Laura&Adam | October 19 , 2007 10:15 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I am at 11 weeks now and have to go maternity shopping this weekend or I will really have NOTHING that fits anymore. It's kinda sad, i've been in denial.....haha

MommyMeSoon2B | November 05 , 2007 4:39 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

According to my Dr. I'm at 9 weeks and according to the u/s tech I'm measuring 8 weeks BUT either way....I'm heading out to kohls today to pick up a pair of jeans, probably maternity. I only have 1 pair of jeans left that fit me. I have a few pairs of work pants w/ more forgiving waist bands. As far as shirts go....I like baby doll tops and sweaters so I should be fine in my tops for a while. This is my 3rd pregnancy this year though, I had an ectopic and a m/c so I've had a few people tell me my uterous may stretch faster. I dont know how much truth is behind that; all I know is I NEED a pair of jeans that fit. :-)

CrystalDaun | December 31 , 2007 10:35 AM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

well, it's my first baby and I just bought my first pair of maternity pants yesterday at 12 1/2 weeks. Aah, so much more comfortable! I can still fit into a couple pairs of jeans with a ponytail holder, but it's uncomfortable. I think I'll be tempted to wear this pair of pants every day, it's so comfy! I'd better get some backups before I grow any more. ;-) I do also have some dress pants that fit pretty great-- they were too big before being pregnant.

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

9 weeks, but I'm having twins. Now at 11 weeks I'm really showing.

weemodin | January 22 , 2008 11:24 AM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I'm 18 weeks and still in my normal clothes. I don't like wearing my tighter shirts though because I feel kind of like I have a little gut and I'm not used to that so I try to keep my shirts a little bit baggy. And I love wearing my sweats when I get home from work- I change clothes right away into something much more comfortable.

ashleyrocca | February 11 , 2008 3:57 PM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

i'm 16 wks and some of my pants still fit. I'm just at the awkward phase where it's not clear whether i'm just fat or pregnant. I'll probably go and buy a couple pants this week sometime b/c i know it's almost over for my regular pants

sarainicole | February 18 , 2008 10:03 AM

re: Q: When in Maternity Clothes?

I'm only 6 weeks and had to buy bigger shorts for the summer. I had gained about 5 pounds before I found out but the baby bloat kills me half way through the day so I went for the fat people clothes! Ugh!

patchessi | April 14 , 2008 6:37 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I'm 10 weeks now, but the past two weeks I have been a bigger fan of sweatpants than anything else. I doubt I'll need to get maternity pants for awhile since I am not really showing yet, but it's just not comfortable to have the jeans all tight and buttoned up. If I have to wear jeans, I usually unbutton them when I'm sitting down!

ginarosecapri | October 27 , 2008 5:47 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I started around 12 weeks. I am still wearing some of my regular clothes with the belly band but now I am starting to wear my maternity clothes more often because its more comfy!

| November 08 , 2008 12:49 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I bought my first maternity clothes at 7 weeks but have only really worn my maternity Jeans. They are stretchy and are transition jeans. I have worn two of my maternity shirts already because they are nice and lose (I am also a bigger girl and need more room due to the bloat)

1ST-TIME-MOMMY | December 17 , 2008 4:37 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

For my first pregancy, I didn't wear maternity clothes until about 19 weeks; I expect this one, my second, to be a lot earlier!

gretch1964 | December 22 , 2008 12:23 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I've been using the bella band for now and I'm at 9 weeks. I suspect that i'll be in regular maternity pants (especially jeans) by week 12-14 given how i've changed just within the last 3 weeks. So far...no new bras are needed.

faitherickson | January 16 , 2009 11:35 AM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I'm only almost 5 weeks but I'm already so uncomfortable in my work pants, which are a bit tight in the waist anyway. I haven't worn my jeans in like a week so I'm sure they're worse! Not showing at all yet but I'm so bloated, and the buttons dig into my tummy. I'm trying to decide if I should go for a pair of maternity work pants or a belly band to make the others work a bit longer.

JoyDancer | January 21 , 2009 10:05 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I'm 25 weeks and haven't really bought any maternity clothes. I did got to a cheaper store about a month ago and bought 2 pairs of pants in a size 10 and those have been working for awhile, but I will need to get new pants soon. I think I will out grow the pants pretty soon. It's just annoying that the nice pants that fit really well, are ver expensive and I wouldn't be wearing them that long!

dmheckenkamp | January 28 , 2009 9:35 AM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

first baby and i'm at 8 weeks -my jeans are already getting too tight so I bought a belly belt so that I can keep wearing them instead of buying new ones. had to buy maternity work pants cause wearing a belt was to uncomfortable. also am starting to need some bigger bras and no underwire as they're getting way to uncomfortable now!!

gale2208 | March 05 , 2009 7:12 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I'm only 5 weeks, and I've already had to buy new bras. My old bras were just too uncomfortable. That's the only measurable difference I've seen.

mandigail | March 10 , 2009 2:44 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I'm at 25 weeks and haven't bought any yet. I think in a few weeks I will have to.

JMRoberts | March 11 , 2009 6:08 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I haven't started into maternity stuff yet, but I gave up on my jeans weeks ago (am at 13 wks) and stick to yoga pants or a pair of my hubs pants I co-opted. I have stopped wearing under things though, cause they drive me round the bend. I wear a tube top under my shirts and I'll have to find some comfy drawers soon or my husband will skin me for going commando!

Ink Myth | March 16 , 2009 5:18 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I'm at 11 weeks and had to buy new bras almost immediately. I'm already up 3 cup sizes. Other than that, I've been able to get by in my hubby's shirts and my regular jeans with a belly band. I work from home though, so that makes it easier.

htrevino76 | April 06 , 2009 1:30 PM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

Im 9 weeks today and i dont quite just fit into maternity clothes, but i still have this pouch that makes it very uncomfortable to wear my regular jeans. This is my first pregnancy, so im pretty surprised to be showing so soon. This past weeks i have resorted to wearing yoga and sweat pants. Im guessing in a couple more weeks im going to have to head out to the maternity store. Also, i bought that bella band at target and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever. i ended up returning them. For some reason i can stand anything snug around my waist.

Delacruz_diana85 | April 15 , 2009 6:54 AM

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I am 14 weeks and totally the same, regular clothes and bra on top. My regular jeans are definitely starting to be too snug. I have purchased maternity pants (full panel - I hear they are the best and most comfortable) but I am hesitant to wear them...I know once I cross that threshold that's it for the next 5 1/2 months!! Maternity city. I think I will be in my regular tops for quite some time still. I haven't gained any weight yet (that's OK, I have some to spare :) but I can tell that my weight is definitely shifting to my tummy.

re: Q: When in maternity clothes?

I'm 11 weeks and I just purchased two belly bands because my jeans were a little uncomfortable. I've just put my tighter jeans aside for now and I'm holding off on the belly bands until I need them but it's good to know they're there when I do! I'm planning on wearing cotton skirts quite a bit the rest of the summer though so that should get me through the next few weeks, at least.

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I am almost 11 weeks, and I have been in maternity clothes for about 2 weeks, OMG they are comfy, BUT expensive... I looked every where, and i found at Kohls... the cheapest, i got 3 pants/capries and 5 shirts for 150$ ya i would have spent that at motherhood on 2 things. They are ALWAYS having sales with everything 50-60% off and everything. I REALLY recommend this store....if you dont have one near you go online you can return anything without a problem.

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

im 7 1/2 weeks now with my first baby. ive actually lost a few pounds since i got pregnant but my jeans fit snuggly to begin with but at about 5 weeks it hurt to keep them buttoned while i was sitting down and now they are uncomfortable to wear at all so i got some stretchy goucho pants from kohls and they are much more comfortable unfortunately they are the only two pairs of pants i can wear so i have a pretty boring wardrobe. but its better than wearing pants that hurt and make me feel sick. i dont have a firm baby bump its mostly due to bloating (the disappearing belly) some days its bigger than others

ingram1124 | August 31 , 2009 4:29 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I'm at 10 weeks, and really need to get some pants. My shirts and bras are still fine (I'm actually still on my tightest bra clasp), but my pants are too small on my belly, but fall if put below the lil bump I'm getting.

jkshiffler | August 31 , 2009 8:27 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

Just got some maternity pants today & am in love with elastic! I'm just 7 weeks & don't have a bump yet, but things are just puffy. Got the kind that go below the belly so they fit now & I can hopefully grow into them. When I put them on, my dh said I looked happier than he'd seen me in 2 days...can't say I disagree. I CAN BREATHE!!!!

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I am 26 weeks and have 2 pairs of jeans left i broke down and bought a pair of maternity pants and 2 shirts at 24 wks the jeans fit well but the shirts are just a little to big still.

AnndeeGirl | September 11 , 2009 2:53 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I'm at 11 weeks and still in my regular clothing although I have to admit I am feeling the clothes get tighter. I'm still holding out and waiting to buy maternity clothing b/c it seems that they are a little over-kill at the moment. It's either "all or nothing" as far as I can see so far. So I guess I am battling with a little of discomfort and wearing shirts/blouses that help conceal the battle of the bulge. It had been recommended to me that using the pony tail holder would be a good way to transition by slipping one part through the button hole and the other around the button. Undoubtedly, it will work, however, it doesn't look very professional when working with clients in the work place. I guess I'll have to start thinking maternity in another week or two... maybe by week 14! :)

lsimenson6 | September 12 , 2009 12:48 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I'm around 13 weeks and have been getting by with my normal jeans and a bella band, although a few of my lower-rise skirts and shorts still fit. The big problem has been shirts, none of my tailored button-down shirts will button over my boobs! I bought a new bra around 8 weeks, it was a smidge too big at the time but now it fits perfectly. I'm just starting to show, but I've been bloated for weeks now.

Emily88 | September 17 , 2009 4:33 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I have been wearing maternity pants since 17 weeks, I can still wear most of my tops. I am almost 2o weeks now and now even my stretchy clothes are too tight.

dsartori | September 24 , 2009 3:08 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I am 14.5 weeks and able to wear tummy tubes/Bella bands with most of my regular bottoms. But over the weekend, at another pregnant friend's insistence, I broke down and bought a pair of cute maternity jeans and a denim skirt. I can't believe I held out this long; pregnant or not, they are SO comfortable! And I don't know what the concern is for us girls in getting into maternity clothes "too soon". Again - comfort! SO, I'm wearing my regular work pants w/ tubes for now, but my beloved new jeans and skirt at home and on weekends. Within the next few weeks (after my next paycheck), I'll be hitting Gap and Old Navy Maternity for some comfy work pants. (PS - My non-prego friends are jealous at my level of comfort. Ha ha...)

hwjones521 | September 28 , 2009 9:54 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I had to start wearing maternity pants at 7 weeks, my jeans were too uncomfortable to wear low. I gained 0 pounds but things had started to "pop!"

Mary Mellen | October 08 , 2009 2:28 PM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I lost about 25 pounds in the months leading up to TTC (I kept reading about the medical benefits of being at a normal BMI before pregnancy), and so I just held on to all of my larger clothes. I'm 11 weeks now, and all of my "skinny" clothes are out, but the bigger sizes are still perfectly comfortable. That said, even though I've only gained 4 pounds back, my pooch is making certain styles of pants cut in a bit. Shirts are currently ok, though.

hdodds | October 11 , 2009 9:25 AM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I am 10 weeks right now and having to unbutton some of my pants. I have noticed I am thickening up a lot more around my waist and midsection as opposed to my lower stomache, does anyone know if this is normal?

littledeadgirl | October 12 , 2009 10:09 AM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I'm 8wks 5days and went maternity shopping today!!! I have only 2 jeans that are fitting and have mostly summer clothes. I was already about 5-10lbs overweight and now I've gained about 5lbs so my regular clothes are just uncomfortable. If the pants are digging in on you, then the fitted shirt isn't going to look good either over that. And I tried wearing the jeans unbuttoned and that is just plain uncomfortable, you are constantly pulling them up! My first pregnancy was twins so always had that jelly belly because of it. OMG, the pregnancy jeans with full panel were sooooo comfortable! And you don't have that muffin top effect with regular jeans. I just think the maternity clothes are much more comfortable because they are made to accomodate that ever growing belly. And I felt so pretty in them! If you always wore a small then you should wear small maternity size, which is me! I don't have any shame in wearing the maternity clothes, just pick cute stuff and not the frumpy stuff.

time4d | October 14 , 2009 12:26 AM

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I think I'm going to cry! This is my first child, I'm only 9 weeks, have only gained 4 pounds and EVERYTHING I own is super tight on me. I don't think its the bump as much as my waist thickening? I'm contemplating on purchasing the bellyband...isn't it too early for maternity clothes?

DONT WAIT! Get yourself into those comfy maternity pants as soon as you feel uncomfortable. I was hesitant about making the switch but am so glad I didn't wait any longer- I don't know how I'll ever want to go back to normal pants after wearing these!

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I started wearing maternity clothes at 10 weeks. I can get my jeans buttoned but throughout the day they get uncomfortable, and instead of wearing a hairtie to hold the pants close I bought a pair of jeans. They are amazing!!

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I bought my first pair of paints at good will - Cheap $3.00 just for comfort at 12 weeks. Then at 23 weeks I needed to buy some business dress pants and did so 2 for $20 at a nice consignment store.

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I thought with this being my 4th, I would pop out very quickly... but just like the other 3 pregnancies, I'm not showing yet at 17 weeks. My work pants are getting too snug to wear though, but my maternity pants are way too big to wear. It's getting frustrating, because I work where I need to dress nice and look presentable at all times. LOL! My other pregnancies I could get by with yoga pants and sweats for the majority of the time, but not this time! I think in the next 2 weeks, I'll have to suck it up and wear the maternity pants just out of comfort... not because you can see anything.

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I bought a pari of maternity jeans when I was only 8 weeks simply because the bloating was making my regular jeans uncomfortable at times. I stuck with just those until I hit about 16 weeks. My belly just popped all of a sudden and the "rubberband trick" just wasn't working anymore. I went and bought one pair of maternity pants for each work day. Now, at 20 weeks, I am solely in maternity pants and tops (at least when I'm out in public) because everything else just looks indecent, haha! My belly is poking out a lot, so much that my husband's aunt wanted to know if I was having twins! Turns out it's just one little boy, though.

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I'm 25 weeks pregnant, and I'm just now not fitting into dress pants, although jeans still fit (yay for low-rise!). It's my first pregnancy and I am tall with a long torso, so i have been "slow to show". I just got a belly band and am just about ready to switch to maternity pants!

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I'm 8 weeks, and I went out and bought 3 pairs of pants yesterday... Call me insane, I only went in there looking for bella bands and maybe a bra since my boobs are now HUGE(r) at at least an H cup, but I decided to try on one pair of pants... Holy cow, I feel great! I can sit down, and eat/breathe at the same time! And sitting doesn't make me want to pee constantly anymore! It's amazing! Seriously, even if it is just bloat, get some comfy bottoms EARLY. Thyme Maternity was having a big sale, I spent under $90 and got a pair of cute jeans, a pair of cargo pants that roll up to flood pants, and a pair of capris - and the best part is, they're ALL comfortable. And they all are going to stretch out about another 1/2 size in the bum/thighs/hips, along with right out to a 12 month belly in the waist (I got the 3 in 1 waistband, look it up they're awesome!), so I can probably wear these until baby arrives. So thankful for maternity pants, especially since I can't find bella bands... I won't be doing shirts though, not with all of the empire waist stuff you can get everywhere, and the availability of tank tops - with being due in August, I think those stretchy tanks are going to be ideal!

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I'm now 9 wks 4 days I bought one pair of maternity jeans with the waistband because they were on sale that I couldn't pass up. My sister just had a baby this December so luckily she's going to pass down some of her tops and such that worked for her all through the 2nd and 3rd trimester! She didn't buy many pants, though b/c she's a sono tech and could just wear scrubs a majority of the time.

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I just started my 10th week with my 2nd and went and bought a pair of maternity jeans. All of my shirts are still ok, but the pants were just too tight!! The belly on the maternity pants is still too big, but at least I have room to grow

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

Everyone is different, but I needed to be comfy while dealing with nausea and raising a 2 year old. For me, 7 weeks.

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I am about 9 weeks and 3 or 4 days... I wear maternity pants if I wake up feeling bloated. Since I work with kids all day, I like to be comfortable, and on bad bloating days, regular pants just don't cut it!!

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

I lost weight last year, so all my pants seemed too big for me. I'm hoping I'll be able to stay in them a while. I'm looking forward to the butt in all of my pants not sagging anymore! Only 8 wks but definitely feeling bloated and looking different. Not uncomfortable in anything yet, but I'm saving pennies for new pants

Q&A: When will I start wearing maternity clothes?

At 11 weeks my blue jeans wouldn't button or zip. not a big belly so I didnt want to go spend money on maternity clothes that I didn't need yet. I tried the rubber band thing but it still made my belly uncomfortable. So this weekend I went and purchased a belly band/belt made of nylon from a maternity store. It lets me wear my pre prego pant un buttoned and unzipped comfortably and completly unoticable it looks like I have an under shirt pulled over my pants if my shirt comes up. Highly reccomend.
