Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I’m 16 weeks pregnant and can’t wait to feel my baby’s kicks! Will I be able to soon?

Re: I’m 16 weeks pregnant and can’t wait to feel my baby’s kicks! Will I be able to soon?

The Bump Expert

Yes! Those first flutters should be coming your way within the next few weeks -- usually between 16 and 22 weeks for first-time moms. They won’t feel like real kicks or jabs just yet, since baby still has plenty of room to move around. Early movements are very gentle and subtle. You may only notice them if you are sitting or lying quietly. They’re also harder to discern if you’re overweight or your placenta is anterior (on the front of your uterus, near the stomach). Plus, these early kicks can be infrequent. You might feel something tomorrow and then nothing for a few days. By the time you hit your third trimester, baby’s moves may be more predictable. And guess what? He’ll usually be most active right when you’re trying to go to sleep!

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I have started to feel little flutters and small kicks...and every time it puts a HUGE smile on my face. My first daughter was none stop...and I cannot wait for this one to start moving all the time. What an awesome feeling!!!!!

So for a second time mom do I feel kicking sooner? Because I'm almost 15 weeks and I can feel flutters already...

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I'm 18 weeks and I THINK I have felt it a few times in the past couple of weeks. I will rest my hands on my lower abdomen in the evening and I feel movement (slight flutter) under my hand. I assume it is the baby. I know what gas is and I feel that too! I can't wait until I am SURE it is the baby. It's my first time and I'm so excited, I wish he/she would kick a little. :o)

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I'm a little over 18 weeks and I don't think I've felt the baby move yet :( At least if I did it wasn't really obvious - any tips on how to feel it quicker or more easily? This is our first baby - and we are so excited!!!

kolson23 |

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I'm 19 weeks and first started feeling them at a little over 16 weeks. I'm fairly tiny and they say that you can feel them on the earlier side if you're small. Since week 18 I've started to feel movement more regularly, almost every day. yay!

kinsalebride |

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I am 14 weeks and already felt movement. i was shocked because i didnt expect it for at least another month, but when i had an ultasound at 11 weeks, my baby was super active and the tech said she wouldnt be surprised if i felt the baby earlier than average. i cant believe it, so exciting

melani17 |

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I started feeligng the baby on the 1st day of my 18th week. The kicks were very special on that particular day because it was the second anniversary of my big brothers death. I think the baby knew I needed some cheering up that day :o)

I have been able to hear movements on the Fetal doppler, but haven't felt them yet. I can't wait!! I'm 15 weeks.

I am 19 weeks yesterday and am pretty sure I have been feeling flutters of movement. I can't be sure yet though and I HATE that... I am just going on that, that IS what I am feeling because it makes me happy, lol!

I am 19 weeks along, and we just found out today we are having a boy! This is our first baby and for the past two days i have felt almost like a flick in my belly. I know it's our baby just letting me know he's there! It's so fantastic!

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I am 19 weeks and I started notices the fluttering feeling around week 17. This is my first, but I am also on the smaller-side. However, I'm actually not sure if what I'm feeling is movement, indigestion, gas, etc. Does anybody else feel the movement almost like when your stomach growls, but there is no sound attached? Almost like you're hungry and your stomach is growling?

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I felt the baby either pushing slightly or stretching on my right side on occasion for several days during 17 weeks ... it a weird feeling as if someone is pressing their finger on me lightly then let go! I also felt like bubble wrap popping all over down there!

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I am just 15 weeks. I swear I felt the first movement 2 days ago while sitting on the floor at work. It was a strange pushing sensation on my lower abdomen. I actually had to take a deep breath after it happened. Was this my baby's first movement? Im new to the pregnancy world. It was a great feeling though!!!

CorgiKisses |

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

I am going to be 13 weeks tomorrow and I swear there is something moving in there already. I feel it mostly in the morning when I am laying in bed dreading getting ready for work!!! I know it is super early and I would pass it off as gas, but I am not bloated anymore at all (thank goodness!!). Do you think it is possible the baby I am feeling?

BabyKJ |

re: Q: When Will Baby Kick?

At our 9 week ultrasound the sonographer said our baby was very active & it would not surprise her if I felt something early on. My husband & I watched in amazement as it's arm & leg buds moved everywhere. I felt the faint flutters of our little one moving as early as 10 weeks. I'm now in my 19th week and I felt the first strong kicks today on the lower left side of my abdomen. I was so thrilled, I e-mailed my husband & called my Mama with the exciting news :) Just remember ladies everyone is different & when you begin to feel your baby move -you'll know it regardless of when others think you "should" feel it!

re: Q: When will baby kick?

Well I am 20 weeks now and I just last week started feeling the "butterflies." I was on vacation all week and I decided to clean my whole apt. I did a lot, and by the time I sat down to rest after all of it, the baby started moving. I guess it was like "Hey what happened to all the moving around out there?" It was amazing.

I'm about 20 weeks and I haven't felt kicking yet, just fluttery motions. I do often get a foot in my left rib, however! xD When he's on my rib I can see my belly move. Very strange, but definitely exciting.

I'm 19 weeks about to be 20 weeks, and I still haven't felt anything! I keep thinking I feel something, but I really don't know what it feels like. Our baby isn't very active, though. During the ultrasounds, she just kind of chills there on her back. It took forever to get her to move so we could tell if she was a girl or a boy.

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant for the first time with twin boys. I felt the flutters at 16 weeks and had kicks and jabs felt on the outside at 19 weeks, 3 days. There isn't much room in there for them so I usually feel at least one kick for each twin per day!

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I could swear I felt a little flutter a few nights ago (14 weeks). I woke up in the middle of the night and felt a little something like a fish swimming in my lower belly. It was great and I can't wait to feel it again and more often.

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I began to feel the baby right at about 12 weeks. i felt my son move for the first time at 14 weeks! I have very active babies! On both ultrasounds I have had with this baby it will not hold still. Its constantly rolling and kicking and the sonographers get irritated! Ha!I have to lay really still at night and sometimes I can feel it! I cant wait to feel it all the time!

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I about 12 weeks 3 days and I have started feeling movements several days ago, it doesnt feel like kicks and I cant actually feel body parts but I do feel like a lump that moves really slow across my lower abdomen, its kind of hard to explain but there is def movement going on, baby is more active late at night when im relaxing but goes crazy when I cross my legs, she def lets me know that it is not comfortable for her lol! I didnt feel movement with my other children until 14 weeks and above so this is very different for me.

TyrishaLynn |

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I'm 19 1/2 weeks and I've been feeling the flutters like crazy when I'm at my desk at work. Apparently baby has figured out I'm ticklish. I've only felt one solid kick. Last week I bent over to pick something up and I got this jab. I guess baby got cramped and was like, 'Mom, what the heck?'

MEGrover |

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I am now 19 weeks along, but I started feeling the baby move at 16 weeks. I don't understand why the bump is saying that you will have a hard time discerning movements if you are overweight. I am overweight and I had no problem feeling the baby move.

soontobemrslee |

I am a mom of 3 & this is my fourth & it is a total different experience. I don't feel her as I did my other 3, I am worried almost every day I don't feel her. But I see her moving all around in ultrasound. So, I am calmed down while in the doctor office & within 24hrs I am scared again until my next visit. My mom tell me calm down.

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I *think* I first felt him move at 15 weeks (the day after our wedding) in an arcade! It was two weeks later when I felt him again. Now it's 19 weeks and the little guy tumbles around several times a day!Maybe try lying on your stomach in bed for a while. I've always felt him best like this (he likes to watch tv with me at 10 pm)!

re: Q: When will baby kick?

I'm 19 weeks & haven't felt anything at all, but I have an anterior placenta. My dr. says this is normal, but I could start feeling something any day now. Also, I'm not overweight at all - so it really can just be different for everyone no matter how alike you are in other ways.

I am a first time mommy too and we are 19 weeks pregnant with our little boy! I am 20 w/3 d today. I started feeling the little flutters/kicks a week ago. I realize now that I had been occassionly feeling them before but didn't know. My baby is really active and I mostly notice it when I am relaxed either sitting down or laying down. I feel him all day long on and off. I haven't started to count the movements yet. re: Q: When will baby kick?

Hi everybody! I am 13 weeks along, a first time mom and i felt the babys first kicks this morning! It feels just like some descriptions i've read that say "the flutter of butterfly wings" it is very suttle. For all you other mommy's who say you are around 13 weeks and not sure if that's what you felt because it's too soon, don't doubt yourself! You are very intune with your body and you are right, those are tiny baby kicks! During my ultra sound yesterday i was told that the baby was kicking like crazy and because i am so small i could very well start to feel them any time now. The sensation is unlike anything else i've ever felt, and that's how i know. Congradulations to all the mommy's who are enjoying the first kicks. And if it hasn't happened for you yet, it will soon. :)

Yes, I felt my daughter at about 22 weeks. However, I am heavier, and it takes long when you have a little meat on you. You may have already started to feel the baby move, but you didn't realize it. It is very subtle and feels like liittle bubbles popping in your belly.

I am 22 weeks and still haven't felt my little girl move. I see in the ultrasounds that she LOVES to sleep and she is consistently in the tight fetal position with her legs facing my back. Im not sure if thats why I havent felt her yet or not. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 16 weeks and 3 days. I've been able to feel baby move for about a month now (since the 12th week). I'm very short and my belly is getting very big very fast because baby has no room to grow up so it has to grow out! The first time I felt the baby move I was at the theatre with my husband. I was leaning forward because my back was killing me in the uncomfortable theatre chairs. I guess the baby was getting squashed or something because it went nuts! I had no idea what it was and freaked out and grabbed my husband immediately! I thought I was going to cry. As I'm sitting here typing this the baby is going nuts. I'm drinking chocolate milk.. I guess it likes it!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

When i was 14weeks i felt the first movement walking through a jcpennys right after i ate so my stomach was big, full and hard. It felt almost like a foot or ankle twice. in every ultrasound the babys jumping all around so it didn't surprise me. I'm 16 weeks now i feel the baby sometimes when i'm laying down for the night, like popcorn it's funny.

blackdollhouse66 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

i'm 23 weeks (so they say from a ultrasound I had on 5/27, I dont think it is correct. I think it is off 2 weeks, we will see) 3 weeks ago, I began to feel flutters and see shifting..last week, @ 22 weeks, obvious kicking.I was pushing around on my belly to see if i could get our baby to move, it kicked my hand SO HARD, it truly scared me! I did not expect that type of strength, I will not ever push in again. SO, notice fluttering at 20 weeks, clear shifting at 21 strong movement at 21-22.I am now able to tell wehn baby wakes up between 5 and 5;30 every morning.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I wanted to share a neet little thinig I have done with my pregnancies..I found a neet little trick.until seeing or feeling actual movement in your belly.Fill your bath water up just as it hits about a inch below ur belly button while laying back in the bathtub..relax..lay very still..the babies movement in your belly will make the bath water ripple..maybe I am strange but, I loved doing this until I actually saw and felt my babies..I hope somone gets a "kick" out of doing this as i did! it helped me get though the..I cant wait to feel him/her stage.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 16 weeks (and 1 day!) and Ive been feeling popping or flicking in my belly. But at 15 weeks and a few days I felt the strongest movement which was a sort of rumbling, almost like a muscle spasm on my side. It made me think he/she was running in place along the side of my belly. REALLY COOL FEELING! :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I just started my 18th week. First pregnancy, so I'm not sure what's what. I feel more like gas bubbles or movement, but not jabs or kicks. Makes me think its gas. Once I thought I even saw something moving under my skin, but its not a more like bubbles moving around versus popping or kicking. Totally confused.

I am 16 weeks (yesterday) and I'm pretty sure I have felt movement. It started a week or two ago and it was awhile before I felt it again. Now I have felt it a few more times over the past few days. Of course I question what it really was since this is "early" for my first kiddo, but I will keep pretending it's the baby because I cannot wait to feel him regularly!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Im 17 weeks & 1 day (2nd time mom). With my son I started feeling flutters at around 16 weeks & actual kicking around 20 weeks. With this pregnancy, I'm feeling everything alot earlier. I started feeling flutters at 10 weeks & now im starting to feel little kicks but its not frequent. I can't wait till my little one is more active :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 18 weeks today, and all last week I could tell for sure the baby was moving! Someone above described it well as if "someone was pressing a finger on the inside of my belly." I felt some bubbly movements at 16 weeks, but I wasn't as positive it was the baby as I am now. I can't wait for the hubby to feel baby kick, too!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 18 weeks and have been feeling them almost every night for the last week (and my family can feel them from the outside) and felt my first ones at the end of my 15th week. I'm overweight and this is my first pregnancy so I guess the answer is that everybody is different! :)

lacey_dahl |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm at 14 weeks and 2 days. I haven't felt them (twins!) move yet, but on the ultrasounds, one of them seems to like to chill out and relax on its back, and the other one is fully stretched out across my stomach kicking its legs like crazy. So, I'm expecting to be able to feel them soon. I am pretty tall, so they have quite a bit of room and I can already feel my uterus at my belly button.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 16 weeks now and I felt my first flutter at 13 weeks!!! I felt it at work it felt like a wierd gas bubble but so different. No one believed me when I told them I felt the baby fluttering around in there so soon, but we had an ultrasound just last week and my baby was all over the place! The baby was flipping over and throwing its hands up in the air and showing us its butt! No wonder I feel it already!!! Here lately I have started to feel stronger movements though like small kicks but they arnt as frequent as the flutters. Its an amazing feeling and dont worry if you dont feel them yet. Everyone is different. Also dont let people make you feel stupid if your feeling baby early or late or showing early or late. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!!! :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I thought I felt very slight movements around 16 weeks, but wasnt sure. Until I got my ultrasound at 17 weeks and the tech told me how active my little girl was. Since my ultrasound I am now 18 weeks and am feeling her move several times throughout the day. Some are kicks or jabs, some are somersaults and twists, others feel like she is trying to stick her head out of my stomach. These little movements are getting stronger and stronger everyday. :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 16 weeks with my first and am positive that I felt the baby yesterday. I thought I was crazy at first because it was early in the morning, but I felt it again later in the day and at night when I was going to sleep. I didn't really feel the "flutters" that everyone talks about--it was more like thumps. Anyway, it put a big smile on my face and I can't wait until the next time!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I didn't feel movement consistantly until 20 weeks. This is my second baby so I thought I would feel it sooner. Turns out my placenta is anterior (in the front) so that blocks some of the sensation. Nothing wrong, just different than myfirst!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am a little over 14 weeks and this is my 3rd child. I started feeling moviments the other day after I ate my favorite chips (Flamin' Hot Cheetos). I don't think the baby liked them very much. The day before that I had an ultrasound and the baby was moving a lot then too. I was suprised to feel it so early but mostly it's when I'm relaxing laying down.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy, and I'm 13 weeks 3 days, and the baby was moving around like mad last night! At first I thought it was just gas bubbles, but I know it was the baby. My husband was able to feel it too :-). It was really awesome though, at one point he put his hand on my stomach, and apparently the baby thought it was too cold and I could feel it slide away. It was so weird, but awesome!! I really didn't expect to feel it so soon :-)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 14 wks and 1 day. I have felt little movements lately (like futters or a fish swimming), and sometimes a gas feeling. Today i felt like a pushing on my lower abdomen when i had my hands on it, and it was consistent. It would happen like 4 times in a row and stop...then start again. I took my hands off my belly and i could still feel it. Could it have been my baby's first kicks? This is my first pregnancy but i am petite and really in tune with my body. It makes me happy knowing it is my baby and those pushes i felt did not feel like gas. I hope soon i will know for sure :) I realy think it was kicks but if not i hope to know for sure soon!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 14 weeks 1 day as well. I have felt my baby move at least once a day for about a week and a half. Trust me, I know gas, hehe!! It feels like when someone brushes up against you but on the inside, and it lasts a few seconds. Also, if my hubby puts his hand on my stomach , while we're about to fall asleep, he says he can feel "like a ball rolling around" sensation. :) It happens differently for everyone, my mom felt us all (3 kids) early too.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 17 weeks 4 days along. Last saturday my boyfriend told me that while I was asleep he had his arm wrapped around me and felt as he described it like a finger pressing from the inside and touched him, he is guessing it is the the baby's foot - Freaked him out. Mommy on the otherhand has not been certain she has felt the little boy move at all. For all I know I have and just not realized it, but there have been no "Ah that was my baby boy moving" moments for me. Kinda makes me sad. But from the sonograms he is a dancer or a runner (hope he has more cordination than his momma) so I imagine once I start feeling him it will be non-stop!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

ok i am 17 weeks and when i went to my last dr's appt. i had to ask if i was crazy or if i was really feeling the baby move. this is my second pregnancy and my doctor told me that where i have such a small frame that it was quite possible and assured me that i wasn;t crazy lol. now i feel the baby move all the time and everyone else can feel it too!!! im excited that i started feeling this baby move so early because i have had some complications this time and with my daughter (1st pregnancy) i didnt feel any movements till about 18 weeks! find out what im having tomorrow! wish me luck that this one is a boy!!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

They say that smaller women feel movement first as well as women who have had children because they are more in tune... i am almsot 16wks and felt what I think was the baby moving a couple days ago... feels like flutters... but very faint... different that gas to me!! LOL

brunay84 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm a second time mom with a 6 year gap so it's kind of been like the first time again for me. With my first daughter I remember her rolling a lot with not too many strong kicks. She also posed quite nicely for the ultrasound tech. THIS girl I felt very early on which I hear is normal and she kicks and jabs like crazy and gave the ultrasound tech a run for her money. In fact when we left she said "Good luck with that one!". For those who are still waiting to feel, you might try doing what they suggest for taking the fetal kick counts. Lay quietly in your left side for about half an hour after eating some fruit or drinking juice which is supposed to give baby a natural sugar high LOL! Good luck and don't hesitate to mention worries to your doctor, that's what they are there for!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and I just felt my first "definite" kicks last night! For the past 1-1.5 weeks, I thought MAYBE I felt something, but it was too tough to distinguish between a kick and gas bubbles (since I'm gassy pretty much constantly). Last night though, it was a clear "poke" and it actually came from a little lower than I expected it to (not really sure why I thought it would be more in my belly).. so I knew it wasn't gas. Since then, it's been doing it on and off all day today! I'm pretty thin so they do say you feel it earlier, but when you feel it, you'll know for sure that it's not a gas bubble or something else. It's only been a day and I'm loving it so far!!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I will be 21 weeks tomorrow and have been feeling the baby since I was 17 weeks. Its an amazing feeling except when I get an elbow or something on the side. While sitting down at work, I felt a quick flutter in my tummy. It was as if something flipped in there. I oculdn't help but wonder what it was. I thought maybe it's too early but I think you just know! =) I will be 15 weeks tomorrow. So exciting! (1st time mom)

ldehoyos |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt the first flutter at 16 weeks. I knew it was the baby because I felt it several times throughout the day. The movements became more regular at 18 weeks and the baby now moves constantly!! Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Almost 19 weeks and haven't felt baby yet. At my 18 ultrasound the technician said my baby was very active so I'll be feeling him or her soon! Also ask where you're placenta is , mine is on top and that could be why I haven't felt anything yet... I'm not too sure. I can't wait!

Hi moms to be and congrats to all. I am 22 wks and have felt my baby girl flutter and kick as well as roll back and forth since 11wks. the only bad thing is that she likes to sleep during the day when she should be awake and active. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 15 weeks today and I started feeling tiny random movements over this past week. I asked my doctor if that was even possible and she said yes she was going to ask me if I started feeling anything. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I just felt LO's movements toward the end of my 18th week. There's a possibility that I could have felt them before but they were so small that it would have been easy to miss. The reason I say that is because I have felt the movements every day since then. So I doubt that it just suddenly happened that day.

My husband, daughter and co-workers can even feel him. It's so awesome. I know it verys from person to person. I felt my first baby at around 12 weeks. She literally beat the crap out of me the entire time! The second was so calm I thought there was something wrong. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

We're having twins (yea!!!) due on April 4th, so I'm 18 1/2 weeks along. Several times I'll have what feels like a stomach "cramp" in my stomach (not like a cramp from your period). When I feel the spot where the cramp is, I feel little bumps in my stomach. I THINK this is them, but I'm not sure. Is this what "kicking" feels like? I thought I'd be able to feel them sooner since there are two in there, but I haven't had that "flutter" feeling. Is this normal?

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 17 wks with my second... with my son I didn't feel him a whole lot... I was never worried because at every appt his little heartbeat was strong and happy, but once my OB asked if he was moving a lot and I kind of shrugged and his eyes went all wide (after that I made sure to tell him how active he was) I'm not much of a worrier, but I thought it was cool because until my last week I was the only one who ever got to feel him at all ... the week he was born he got the hiccups and my husband finally got to feel him so I was glad for that too... But until then he was just my little secret guy... Now he's 18 mos and I have to share him, so I am glad I got that extra time for just us!

i am feeling flutters since the first month of pregnancy. but now that i am beginning my 17th week i am feeling tiny kicks. i think it is normal for it to take longer too. i have heard some say 21 weeks is when they felt the first kicks. depends on where uterus sits and how sensitive you are. my thought is i am sensitive and i feel a lot. i still have morning sickness too and i thought that would end by now.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 14 weeks, and just read through this thread 2 days ago. My OB says that I'm the smallest patient they've got so not to worry that I started showing around 8 weeks and if I feel anything real early. I think I just wasn't paying any real attention, because the past 2 mornings I've laid in bed awake for awhile before getting up and on Day 1 there was a legitimate poke, and this morning he was rolling around like crazy. I guess I just hadn't been paying any attention :P Remember, everyone's body type is different so it may just take a little more hmpf for that feeling to come through. :)

17 weeks pregnant with my second child. Felt the first movements a couple days ago. For those worried about not feeling anything yet...I notice my kicks (with both pregnancies) in the evening. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

At 14 weeks, I felt something like butterfly flutters and occasionally a gas bubble that would move across the belly in a way that was different than normal bowel gas does. At one day before 16 weeks I was sitting and felt a strong and distinct movement, not a kick, but like a fish moving in water. So, that little creature is definitly going to be a swimmer methinks :)

lubasik |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt my first movement (for sure) the last day of my 17th week. I'm a first-time mom, but am very thin, which they say can make it a little easier to feel. It was less like butterflies and more like the popping popcorn sensation inside the belly. Almost feels like a twitch in the lower abdominal area, and I've even seen it a couple of times when it's in just the right spot! VERY EXCITING. I have a good friend who is overweight and has a posterior uterus, and is 22 weeks, and hasn't felt anything yet. It is also her first and she is concerned, but she has a couple of things working against her. So for those of you who are still waiting, just be patient! Good luck!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I started feeling the baby moving at 14 wks. No, I'm not overzealous, when we went to have the second trimester ultrasound the tech had problems getting a clear picture because it kept jumping and stretching. At first I thought I'd eaten something wierd, but then when it happened again I asked my doctor(she's really going to get sick of me having her on speed dial soon) and she said that it was perfectly normal(not like there's anything normal feeling about an orange hopping around in your stomach next to your bladder) and that it would only get worse(she and my mom have been talking and that seems their favorite thing to tell me when I complain about going up a cup size, or having to buy maternity pants, etc.).

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Yah, its great and all to feel the baby move, but when you're trying to sleep it can get bad. I've been woken up in the middle of the night from feeling her movements. Its kinda like a queasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. I'm 28 weeks, and I just started noticing what was her and what was just regular gas feelings about two weeks ago. Don't stress it out about feeling the kicks. The stress is so bad for your baby and if it elevates your blood pressure, you can get preeclampsia, which is really dangerous for the baby, and may result in them talking the child early

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy and I am 18 weeks as of yesterday, and I thought I felt some fluttering last week, but maybe it was just my imagination. I feel like Im carrying small, so it's frustrating, because I dont even feel pregnant. Its nice to know that there are others, some even further along than me that are experiencing the same things. I cant wait til I can actually feel movement though, seems like its taking forever!!

Hi there. Im 18 weeks now, but started feeling flutters at 13 weeks, and now I feel real kicks that I can even see my clothes move when baby kicks. Its so fullfiling, brings so much joy and I always talk to baby and stroke my tummy when baby kicks.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy and I first felt flutters at 18 weeks, and felt small pokes at 19 weeks, but my placenta is also anterior. Not sure if that affects things or not, but you should probably feel them within the next month (:

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 14 weeks and somewhat overweight. I have not felt anything yet - that I know of and just hope that even though I am overweight I will get to feel the baby at some point. Due to being overweight I heard it is hard for others to feel the baby too and that upsets me.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm almost 16 weeks and I think I have felt a few movements here and there. Does anyone else think they sort of feel like one very light muscle spasm? I have muscle spasms but never just one. And it was very low on my left side.

katmpet |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

i started feeling "bean" kick and roll at 15 weeks 3 days. it does feel rather like a spasm for me as well...also feels like my organs are being re-arranged as well :)

myserie7 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I never understood how being overweight would affect how soon you felt your baby. It's really all about knowing your body and I'm sorry, fat isn't lining the inside of the uterus, just the outside of your belly. I was 16 weeks pregnant with my daughter (first child) and unmistakably felt her swoosh and roll.. it made me a lil nauseas at first but then I LOVED it. This time around, I started feeling "popcorn" flutters at around 10 weeks and each week, they get stronger. I can't wait for that first BIG roll again.. this time I'm prepared for it :) Best of luck to everyone! Feeling your baby move is such an amazing thing! The only thing that sucks about not feeling them until 20-22 weeks, is that you've had to wait sooo long! But fret not, you WILL feel your babe :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Hi everyone! Congratulations to all, first and foremost! I had a doctors appointment yesterday (14w4d) and the doctor asked if I had felt anything yet, and I said no. She said that regardless of your weight, you feel kicking by about 20 weeks. Some are lucky and feel it earlier, and some have to wait a little longer for that fun, reassuring kicking/fluttering. I'm overweight myself, and she said that I'll feel the kicks just as well as anyone else would:) Hope that reassures some of the lovely ladies out there!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Being that this is my first baby (I am 22 weeks along) I was so eager for it too! I felt little sensations around 16 weeks but never with my hands...only internally. Then one day....out of the blue...I think I was at 18, 19 or 20 weeks....it POPPED it was so weird. It felt so foreign and I said to myself "That was CERTAINLY NOT GAS!" It did it constantly from then on...most often when I was sitting still or lying down. I never thought I would get used to it. Instinctively my hands would jump to my belly as though to stop it from coming through the skin and I would gasp or go "oooh!" But eventually....I began to get used to it...but I love it so much.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 23 weeks today and have been feeling "crawling" since week 18. One trick I have to get the baby to move is to eat ice cream. Chocolate works the best. The little bugger will go crazy for the next 15 to 20 minutes. It helps for us heavier gals who are freaking out because there is no movement. Also, to babydoll1234, discharge is normal. I have not had any that I have noticed but according to what I have read, many women report it.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 13 weeks pregnant with my third baby. My second daughter is already 10, so its hard for me to remember when I started feeling the kicking with her. I thought I was feeling fluttering as of last week and when I asked my OB if it was too early she said that most moms feel fluttering between 16-20 weeks but that she never says never. When she did my ultrasound, my husband and I were amazed to see how active our little one is - it was all over the place with it's little arms and legs! She laughed and told us that she wouldn't be surprised if I was already feeling a little something. This is my husbands first baby, and he can't wait to feel the baby's kicks!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Movement is very subjective! How one woman feels and describes movement may be drastically different from another woman. At 20 weeks, I finally felt movement. By 21 weeks I had identified a pattern and my husband could feel movement externally on a nightly basis. Looking back, I was feeling movement from about 16 weeks, but I was too hung up on how others described the feeling. My suggestion is not to put too much emphasis on how movement should feel (as described by others). Instead, pay attention to any new feelings. If you have the same feeling 3 times it is likely movement...describe it as you wish!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my second baby. I'm 17 weeks and I started feeling my baby at around 14 weeks. Even though this is my second pregnancy, I still doubted what I was feeling, but when it became more constant that these "muscle twitches" are my baby's movements, I felt more comfortable telling my husband and everybody else that I can feel the baby now. And it gets my daughter so excited when I just grab her hand and place it where I can feel the flutters.

melissas21 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Hey! I was almost 20 weeks along before I REALLY felt the movement. It's true that sometimes women confuse the feeling of kicks with "gas bubbles" There may have been once or twice that I felt that small flutter and was confused on whether or not it was the baby or not. I got married at 19 weeks and after the wedding the baby just started with all kinds of movements. I'm not 26 weeks along and giggled constantly at the movements she makes, rolling, kicking, turning- I can feel it all. I love it! Be patient, it'll come, and when it does you'll be smiling for days!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy and I was soo anxious about feeling the kicks. I felt a couple of "kicks" around 18 weeks when I was on a long drive. Then, nothing. At about 20 weeks after dinner and sitting I started feeling my little boy move around. It felt like when your stomach growls but there was no growl. I thought maybe it was me digesting but since then Ive felt him move more and more especially after meals. Its like little riipples. The last week or so, while laying in bed I could feel him doing somersaults or something in there :) Such an awesome feeling. Most people have told me that you feel the baby move a lot at 6 months. Im almost there and I cannot wait! I'll have a perma-smile. Its like a little inside joke between me and the baby when he kicks. My husband cant wait to feel the movements, he's living vicariously through me right now.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm in my first pregnancy-At first I couldn't tell the difference between gas and the baby but we were at the doctor and the baby kicked the doctor's hand, the doctor goes "Did you feel that?" I said yes of course and he assured me it was the baby! That was when I was about 14 weeks. It's different for everyone and it's questionable what is what if you've never felt it before. You'll know when you do, it's like your personal reassurance that your baby is coming!!!

SarahKay8633 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy. I am currently 25 weeks but I did not feel the baby kick for sure until about 20-21 weeks. Even then it was faint and I was never sure it was really him. Now that I am 25 weeks he is getting stronger and I know when it is my little guy kicking my bladder! I am 5'7" with a long torso and a "fluffy" belly if you know what I mean :) I think this is why it took me so long to feel anything. I was beginning to get worried but now I feel him every day and it is wonderful! I read posts of first timers who felt the baby at only 14-16 weeks...that made me worried because at 14-16 weeks I couldn't feel a thing. Now I am trying to get my DH to feel the kicks. He refuses to push down on my stomach at all and says I am bothering the baby :) To feel my baby kick from the outside you have to push into my uterus a little to get past my natural padding...

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm a first time mom and I started feeling flutters and a few kicks in week 14. It's gradually gotten more consistent (I'm at week 17 now). It seemed pretty early but my doctor said no, that it's not unusual, especially if you're slender to begin with. It seems like it really just depends on your body and awareness when you're able to feel it.

emelodious |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I first started feeling movement, "flutters", this week (at the beginning of my 13th week). They have gotten more frequent as the week has gone on. Here's what the American Pregnancy Association has to say about it: Most women feel the first movements of their baby between week 13-25. Some moms can feel their babies move as early as 13-16 weeks from the start of their last period. These first fetal movements are called quickening and are often described as flutters. It may be difficult to determine whether this feeling is gas or your baby’s movements, but soon you will begin to notice a pattern. First-time moms may not feel these movements as early as second-time moms. Some moms, especially those in their first pregnancy, may not feel movement until 18-20 weeks. Remember that each woman and each pregnancy is different, so you may not feel movement as early as another woman. There is a broad range of when the first detection of movement can be felt, ranging from 13-25 weeks.

Well, It depends on the person. All women are different. This is my first pregnancy and I felt my baby kick for the first time on the weekend of my birthday. I was just 15 weeks I believe. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

You probably won't feel your baby until about 19-23 weeks. And if this is your first you may not recognize a kick the very first time (it can be confused with gas). Also if you are heavy set it probably will be hard to feel at first. But don't worry it will happen just be patient.

sexylena2002 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I was about 18 weeks when I first felt flutters, at about 24 weeks they have progressed to full blown kicks!

jbaby901 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Everyone is different! I am on my second pregnancy and am currently 13 weeks and I feel flutters already. They are not constant, but they are there. I am also vertically challenged.. : ) 4"11 to be exact so I go from ribs to hips pretty much with no torso....so I can agree with a couple of the other moms who said there is really nowhere for them to go except out. Also, second and more time moms know what they are feeling more than a first time mom. With my first pregnancy I was pregnant with twins. I dont recall feeling the flutters until almost twenty weeks and that was with two! So it is different for everyone. I will tell you I know it is hard to wait because you want to share the joy with everyone, but it is so worth the wait! You will know the difference between gas or movement whether you are a first time mom or not in my opinion. You just know when you are a mom!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I love knowing that he (we're hoping for a boy, so it's he until Dr says otherwise) is wiggling around in there. At 14 weeks I know I'm probably not feeling him, but every weird thing my belly does makes me stop like "oh that could've been him" The dreams aren't helping matters either. I feel him move in my dreams & it wakes me up (usually just to go pee again) then when I go back to bed I lay for the longest time thinking about silly things like if he's comfortable with the way I'm laying. I'm so excited for this baby!! Can't wait to feel him for real.

I will be 18 weeks on Saturday and I still haven't felt much yet. With my first pregnancy, I felt flutters around 14 weeks, which is pretty early, and then a few weeks later they turned into strong kicks and jabs. Even though I've felt what I think are flutters and tiny movements, I'm worried because there hasn't been a big movement yet and haven't felt anything with my hands. I'm hoping it's just that I'm a little overweight now so it has a few more layers to push through before I feel a big one! haha

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 16 weeks 2 days with my first pregnancy and I swear I felt the baby almost 2 weeks ago. I know it seems kind of early, but I really haven't been very gassy. My family has been teasing me about having twins because my belly is already so big and I haven't had a full ultrasound yet to confirm that... do you think I could be feeling the baby(s) already?

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I started feeling flutters in my lower abdomen last week (13 wks). and this week i feel them more and more. I had an ultrasound yesterday and the doc was irritated trying to get a good picture, the baby kept rolling and flipping around. I can't wait til I actually feel a real kick, although the flutters are quite amazing too :)

christinaxxchaos |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I have just recently began to feel my baby boy's flutters toward the end of week 21 going into week 22. Believe me you will know it is your baby once you feel them, it is amazing!! Also take into account if this is your first pregnancy, and your weight. I believe that generally subsequent pregnancies and thinner women tend to feel the movement sooner than say a plus size woman.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm just about 18 wks and have felt flutters and what feels like bubbles for a wk or so now. I was never actually sure if i was feeling the baby before, but tonight i felt what i can only descibe as 3 swift kicks. I was certain when i felt that. It was truly amazing.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

i felt DD kick at 15 weeks. they say it's too early and not many people believe me, but everyone's different. i also started "showing" around that time, which most people think is uncommon. but it happened. :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I was 22 weeks on Monday, my next appointment with the gynie is next friday, and i am a little worried, i havent felt baby move yet? When is this surposed to start and how does it feel, i thought i could feel baby this morning but i wasnt sure if it was just me wanting it so badly that i mistook that for gas.

anchen |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I remember my doctor saying that at 20 weeks you should feel the baby move, I didn't but at every doctors apt. her heart rate was great so I tried not to worry at about 23 weeks all of a sudden I felt her move, and not one of those little movements that might be gas. lol I'm 26 weeks now and I think she thinks my insides are there for her to play with. lol I feel her move at least twice a day in half hour intervals. She's there and she lets me know that. So try not to worry too much.

Tnara |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm at about 21 weeks and have been feeling the baby move for about 2 weeks now. I'm a first time mom and at first it was difficult to distinguish the movements from anything else in my abdomen but when I learned to figure it out it was amazing. Every time I feel the baby move it brings a huge smile to my face...it's still a little hard for me to believe that there is a little person in there lol

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I was about 15 weeks when I felt my baby moving...I freaked!!!(in a good way). I told every one it felt like popcorn that still poping when you take it out of the microwave, or better yet...missplaced gas, every time i tell my hubby he grins from ear to ear!!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I think I felt "him" this week. I'm almost 18 weeks. I was so shocked when I felt it because I wasn't entirely sure if that's what it was. Trying to describe it though made me think it really was "him" moving because I couldn't describe it. It wasn't like anything else I've felt before. I told DH and he got all wide-eyed and was like "do it again, I want to feel" LOL he's so sweet & so excitable. I had to explain that it will still be a while before "he" kicks hard enough for anyone else to feel it. He was sad that he was missing out. :) I love him.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Im 18 weeks today and I felt my first flutter around 14 weeks right before my 2nd doctors visit. After I went to the doctor at 15 weeks I started feeling my baby kick. Its really light and at first you have to really lay down and hold your stomach to feel them. But if you sit still long enough you'll probably feel something. I am pretty thin so everyone says that makes a difference when feeling the baby. But dont worry you should feel them in no time. Now i feel my baby while im just sitting around and alot more while im laying down.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am now 19 weeks along, my baby kicks a little but barley noticable. Your baby will start kicking soon int he next week or so. When I was pregnant with my first I felt him kick around 17 weeks. This one doesn't kick as much though, so when you feel your baby kick you will know it.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I will be 23 week Friday and I haven't felt anything yet...there was a flutter but it happened once so I don't know. People keep asking if I have felt the kick, and when i say no or i am not sure they look at me like something is wrong...so i have started to tell people yes so they will leave me alone.lol. since I have monthly exams, it freaks me out that I can't feel him move all the time. I trust that everything is ok, but it is hard not to get paranoid. I appreciated seeing that there are other people on here who are as far along as I am and aren't 100% sure if they have felt anything either...adds some comfort. so thank you.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm sixteen weeks and one day into my first pregnancy, and I felt kicks two days ago. I wasn't sure at first even though I could feel something, so I just layed down still for a few minutes and I could definitely feel it. My boyfriend could even feel it. I just had an ultrasound done this morning and my doc says we can feel it so early because the baby is right in the front of my uterus. Baby wouldn't open their legs, though! Hopefully we will know in two weeks.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am a first time mom to be and I felt flutters very early on in this pregnancy mainly because I was listening to my body. The first time the flutters felt different stopped me dead in my tracks. It's a little strange having a human in your belly. Now he or she moves a lot at night not so much when I am on my feet at work. I am 15 weeks four days pregnant.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am eighteen weeks pregnant today and have been feeling a wierd tickling tiny bubbles sensation in my tummy for about a week or so. Definitely more obvious yesterday and today. Yesterday all of a sudden it felt like tiny tickly bubbles moving across the front of my tummy under my belly button. I'm pretty sure its baby because I've never felt that before and I've heard other mamas describe it as soda bubbles in your tummy with the first movements. Pretty exciting!

BrittJarr |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I think I felt a couple of "flutters" earlier, but I don't count them since I wasn't even sure if it was the baby or not. The first real movements I felt were at about 18 weeks, and I was even able to feel them on my hands slightly, though it was normally when I was lying down on my back.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I started feeling flutters at 15 weeks, which was very surprising (this is my 1st). However, even at the 12 week checkup they had to do an ultrasound to hear the heartbeat, as the baby was CONSTANTLY moving/rolling already, so they couldn't hear it with the doppler, as s/he wouldn't hold still. Then at the 17 week check-in, they could hear him/her flipping around. Apparently this is one mega-active child! :)

I felt the first flutters at 15 weeks and all I could do was smile! This is our first baby after 10 years of trying. I also had to go to the ER for some spotting from an injury and they heard the baby moving around alot. I started feeling the kicks and jabs at 18 weeks. My morphology ultrasound was at 19 weeks and we are having a boy. He feels like he his practicing for UFC in there most of the time. Its such a strange but amazing feeling! Im 20 weeks today and alot of people say I look further along. Hes right on track and is over 11 inches long with BIG feet that he knows how to use LOL

This is my first and I wasn't sure when I was feeling her or not. I'm 20 weeks and just starting Knowing that I was feeling her last week. For me, it feels more like a slight muscle twitch than flutters or bubbles. To each her own!

bowers2008 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I noticed flutters and little muscle-like twitches at 13 weeks. Probably wouldn't have noticed it unless I had heard what it's like and was looking for it. I feel it the most about 30 minutes after a meal (and NO, it's not gas!) and I am sitting quietly. I'm usually kinda scrunched up in the Lazy boy too so I think there's some pressure on my uterus to help feel it. VERY fun and weird!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt little flutters on and off from 15-23 weeks, but from then on its been really crazy. I'm 25 weeks now and feel her every night before of go to bed. She can really kick and jab, I also feel her pretty frequently throughout the day when I take naps. I wouldn't worry about not feeling any movement if your not 23 weeks or more. I actually got really scared when I started to feel her move and then there was no movement for days, this is supposedly very common.

I am 21 weeks and I've been feeling baby since 14 weeks. I'm a first time mom and considered on the bigger side. I don't think it matters. Everyone's body is different and it's all about knowing what it is. Cause once you know what you're feeling you can make more attention to that specific feeling. I feel my little girl all the time time. At this point it's almost a tickle, no kicks and jabs yet.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

OMG!! I had to come on to here right away to find out if what i'm feeling is the baby and i swear it is!! especially after reading these posts! I'm 16 week today and i'm wearing my jeans which i have to wear unbutton now. and when i'm sitting today at my desk they are pressing into my tummy too much so i'm unzipped and kinda slouched and for the last hour i keep feeling flutters and dull pokes and i'm sure it's not gassy flutters cause is a much softer kind of feeling. i called my husband to tell him what i think i'm feeling and i put my hand on my bare tummy...hoping no one would walk in my office as i'm at work!...and i felt on the tip of my one finger, a poke!! omg i have tears, this is incredible! my hubby is dying to feel now...but not sure if he'll feel it like i do cause he's not getting it from the inside and it might be to light for him to feel just from the outside! wow what a day!!! Thanks all for sharing your experience and dates!! yay!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Im 14 weeks and just last night I felt the first flutter a baby. I had done my reading and heard that most people feel something before they realize what it is. They just mistake it for gas or stomach rumbling. So i have been trying to train myself from the beginning. At night (because that is when your most likely to feel anything since its so slight of movements) i would take time to just get to know my body, well before i knew i would feel anything, so that if i did I would know the difference between my own body´s movements and the baby´s. And it worked! I could definately tell the difference. It felt like a little fish swimming around in there. No kicking or anything but movement. Im also fairly thin and read that people on the thinner side tend to feel something earlier, so i dont know if that also had something to do with it.

To samiree08, don't worry yet. It's normal for 1st time mommies to not feel much until you are about 5 mos. along, or past 20 weeks. And at first, it won't feel like kicking, it will feel like gas bubbles or fluttering. If other people put their hand on your belly, they won't be able to feel it as early as you can either. You will feel it from the inside first, which makes it extra special. It's always reassuring to feel baby doing gymnastics in there. Good luck!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I was about 17 weeks when I think I felt the first flutter. This is my first pregnancy so, I'm not a 100% sure that is what I felt. I am now 21 weeks and I feel him moving all the time especially when I have a full bladder or I am laying down to go to sleep. It's a wonderful feeling!!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm about 15 weeks and just started to feel the movement a few days ago. At first i thought it might just be gas, but it happens when i lay down to go to bed(which is a routine time). It's the greatest feeling in the world!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 13 weeks and 5 days, I feel little tickles when it's quiet in my work area. At night not as much, i hope it stays that way. Awake during the day and sleeping at night. At our 13 week U/S, the baby was all over the place, it was the best thing I ever saw.....

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

It is hard to tell if I am feeling the baby or just my rumbling tummy (gas, indigestion)! However, the other night I was laying very still and I felt what I can only describe as butterfly wings. It was an amazing feeling. I can't wait to feel it more often!

hollyinaz2 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I feel alot of flutters and movement. I'm only 16 weeks, so I'm starting to feel like I'm just imagining it and it is just gas or something. However, this is my second and I'm pretty thin--so maybe they're real!

radwae |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 22 weeks and just started feeling slight flutters... I've already had 6 ultrasounds due to some complications and have seen her moving like crazy since 10 weeks, but couldn't feel it at all until now. If I couldn't see her rolling and kicking I might have been nervous, but due to my anterior placenta I couldn't feel her, even though I'm pretty tiny. So try not to freak out if it takes a while to feel the baby! We are all different, and you can't always go by the book.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am now 24 weeks and I have felt our little boy move since 18wks. I felt flutters as early as 10 wks. I am pretty small so his movements were quite noticeable. My husband was able to feel our little guy move at 18 wks. I have noticed a pattern of movement. There are usually a couple days a week where I don't feel as much movement, and then the rest of the week he is really active.

sugarmag6 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I was able to start feeling "flutters" at 14 weeks with our son. From the very first US at 8 weeks onward this baby boy will roll, kick and punch during every exam! He has only gotten more active and we are 18 weeks as of yesterday. When I lean forward while sitting I can feel him pressing back. He is most active right before I eat a meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner). It's like he KNOWS it's time to eat already. Recently I've been able to tell that he's most active at night because I wake up with sore abs in the morning, even if all I did the day before was sit on my rear all day. It's so great to feel his little jabs and kicks and we're looking forward to the day (hopefully soon) that we'll be seeing those little jabs from the outside and not just feeling them on the inside :).

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

It varies when your baby will kick hard enough for you to feel it my first two I was able to feel at 4mths, with this one It was well into the fifth month that he started a regular kicking patter. Be patient cause when he starts to kick it will be times when your like okay that's enough.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 11 weeks pregnant today and felt my first flutter! I was standing up stretching and all of a sudden the right lower side of my tummy started fluttering. I'm certain it wasn't gas–I've had plenty of that–so I'm assuming it must have been the baby. I know it's really early, but after reading other posts on here I'm feeling pretty good. I'm barely 5'1" so I'm wondering if that's why I can feel the baby so soon? (Being short means that there's no where for the baby to go but out-so I already have a belly)

dreamer1969 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am fairly slender and felt my baby's flutters right at 16 weeks on the lower right-hand side. The closest thing I can compare it to is when you get a nerve twitch. I was lying on the beach with my sister and we could both feel the kicks from the outside! Then for almost two weeks I didn't feel anything at all. Now I'm 18 weeks and I feel the flutters off-and-on all day long. Riding in the car really seems to make the baby kick, maybe from the vibration.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am just 16 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. I was lying on the couch last night and had my hand over my belly button and felt baby push up against my hand. Little one moved around there for about an hour. It was amazing. My husband would have been able to feel itif he wasn't working. It never happened this early with my first two. My youngest is two years old, but I forgot just how awesome it is to feel baby move inside you, letting me know all is okay.

Hi I am now 21 weeks but start to feel small flutters at about 18 weeks. This is my first and also I am on the bigger side so don't belive all you read about having to be small to feel movements. It is a really exciting feeling. Like someone else that has posted here I felt the baby move quite a lot after I let out two big sneezes at work the other day! Probably had woken baby up : )

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 18 weeks and 2 days, and until today I hadn't felt anything. Then during church this morning right after the music started, I felt lots and lots of tickling coming from our little one. I had just been telling myself since I am overweight I probably wouldn't feel anything until much later in the pregnancy. No real kicks yet, but I feel the baby squirming about. I can't begin to say how excited I am to be able to feel our little sprout that's growing inside me.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I first felt a flutter, a pretty long flutter, deep inside, above the vagina, at 15 weeks. This is my first pregnancy and I had no idea what it was. I was sitting on the couch, about to get up to get dinner. Next week, my dr confirmed that it was the baby moving! I'm at 18 weeks now, and I feel the baby move every time I lie down or sit down to rest, every day. It's an amazing feeling!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

i'm 15 weeks and felt a fluttering feeling, but I didn't think it was the baby. I used to get the same feeling in my stomach when i took too hot of a shower when i was little and i would lay down after. wierd? i think so. the feeling is deep in my stomach just under my belly button. is that the baby moving? I thought it might just be because i got too hot and laid down in the air conditioning and that was the feeling of relief from cooling off.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 12 weeks and felt the baby flutter a few days earlier. I know I have a busy body because it was jumping and waving during the ultrasound 2 weeks earlier. I still can't believe how active they are in such an early stage. The baby fluttered when I was lying in bed on my back. I was very calm, so it was easy to feel. It has a lot of room to play right now.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I have been told that there are several factors 1 being # of pregnancies 2 body size and a 3rd one thast ifie is the position of the baby. I am 14 weeks and have been feeling flutters for a week but this is my 4th pregnancy but third child. This baby has been sitting straight up but I am very thin in the middle so it just depends.

I am 12wks going on 13 and you always hear oh you wont feel anything its too early. This is my 3rd child and every pregnancy si different. I have felt flutters, it's not frequent but you know thats what it is especially if you havent experience any gas recently. i cant wait to find out what i am having!

vernapayne |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I think everyone is different. I am in my 13th week and have been feeling the fluttering feeling for a few days now. This is my second baby, they are going to be 10 years apart so it is a completely new experience again. :) I don't remember when I first felt my son move. But know this baby is an active one by the ultrasound we had last week. I know they say that when you are overweight you probably wont feel it as soon but I don't necessarily think its true. My sister is overweight too and with her 2nd and 3rd pregnancies she felt them at 12 weeks also.

jenniekae81 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

just like vemapayne, i am also going 13 weeks and i thought i started feeling irregular flutters that started last week, around start of 12th week. i wasn't sure it was the baby flutter that is why i considered it as only gas or something, but with vemapayne and jenniekae81's post, maybe what i felt was the baby already! (this is also my second pregnancy after 10 years!)

I am a little over 18 weeks. I was getting a little nervous because my pregnant friends were feeling their baby kick as early as 15 weeks and I haven't began to feel mine. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 23 weeks pregnant right now and I first felt the baby move when I was around 16 weeks. When I found out that she was going to be a girl at our 18 week appointment with the Perinatal specialist 2 days later my husband felt her kick and when I say kick I mean she kicked so hard it made my stomach jump. He was shocked because she kicked so hard. Still till this day she is moving like crazy like she is dancing in there lol :D I told the doctor and she was saying you have a feisty little girl. I am excited though because I know she is healthy and she is very active. So I think it all depends because like I said there are many times that she kicks very hard that my stomach jumps and people can feel her kick and are surprised that by now you can already feel her kicking so hard.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am first time mommy and I am at 22 weeks/5 days. I started to feel flutters at about 19 weeks but chalked it up to gas and definitive baby movement at exactly 22 weeks. It is the best feeling in the world!!!! I think I didn't feel it until later because im overweight, so I needed the baby to be bigger for me to feel him. The movement slowed down last night and I haven't really felt anything today, so hopefully everything is ok in there!! GOOD LUCK everyone and let's try our best to enjoy this exciting/stressful/overwhelming/happy experience. :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Anywhere between 16 & 22 weeks depending on if this is your 1st or not. Most new moms mistake babies 1st kicks as gas. You should get what to expect while expecting and read it. a lot of common questions like this one are addressed in it :) I'm 16 wks w/my 1st and find that book very informative

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 13 weeks with my second child with an 5'7, 150 lbs build. While I'm not showing yet (however my uterus is pushing up so I am gaining a wonderful muffin-top look), I have started feeling small flutters from the baby. I don't know if it's easier for me because I have had intestinal issues all my life, so I know the difference between gas and the baby but I definately know it's the baby. My husband tries to feel but has a hard time because I can only feel the flutters, not the kicking yet. It seems everyone is different and baby movement will come visable at different times. Either way, it's an exciting time and hope everyone enjoys these moments when they do happen :)

I am 25 wks pregnant. I am feeling baby move, roll, and kick but i did not feel movement until i was about 5 months. I guess it all depends on you and how active your baby is. Don't stress though sooner or later you will feel those kicks.

munky07 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

According to the books you'll feel it anywhere between 16 & 22 wks. It also depends on if it's ur 1st pregnancy or not when you'll recognize that you're feeling that fetus & not gas lol though my friend who's about 2 weeks behind me swore she felt her kid moving at less than 8 wks but she also started showing then too. I'm 17 wks and felt the 1st kicks at the end of my 15th wk but wasn't sure b/c it'd be like one poke and then nothing. Now I feel him everytime I'm not doing anything like when I'm laying down or sitting quietly tho he was moving around earlier when i was at the grocery store :) Some ppl describe the feeling as flutterng, butterflies, gas or even popcorn popping ... I think gas & pop corn popping describes it perfectly but like they say, every woman's different

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am a little concerned for the opposite reason as of most. I am 12 weeks pregnant and I could Swear I am already feeling the baby kick me. Is that even possible? Is there something else that I could attribute the various "bump" feeling in my stomach that I do not normally experience? It feels like light twinges and...kicks from the inside. I have two other children but they were both pretty quiet in my belly and don't recall much movement...Am I insane or could it really be the baby kicking this early???

neelyjd |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Be patient you will feel them soon. I felt them at about 23 weeks so you still have about a month and a half to go before you will feel any real movement. When you do it will be special. I am 37 weeks and every time my baby moves it hurts like hell I can't sleep or get comfortable and I need the loo literally every 15 mins (so annoying) expecially during the night when you are so tired and just want to have some sleep. Although being pregnant is nice it does have it's downfalls too. Make the most of it while you can because soon you will not be able to move or do anything very well without feeling very uncomfortable and sore.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I would swear I felt my little one last weekend (very beginning of 14 weeks)... I know what gas feels like, but this was so much more like 'butterflies' in the stomach, only very low down... I haven't felt it again yet, but I'm sure it was the baby. Our ultrasound tech said the baby was very active at both of my appointments so far (9 & 13 weeks), so I'm going to stick to my story that I've felt it already and can't wait to feel it again!

I am about 17 weeks and I noticed little flutters in my tummy about a week ago or so. It feels like little gas bubbles but I know it isn't gas and it usually happens when I am sitting or laying down. I also feel little thumps against my abdomen and I always put my hand there to feel it. It is really amazing I found out I am having a girl and I am really excited since this is my first baby.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 13 weeks 1 day. I felt something around mid-last week, and i SWEAR it was the baby. i was sitting at my desk at work all quiet just after lunch, and felt a fluttering. Then, yesterday my mom and I were shopping and i saw a little baby in the store. So cute, but it made me NERVOUS! my mother decided to remind me that it's going to be that big when it comes out and i freaked lol. I felt what i thought was a kick... it felt like something just knocked me in the tummy lol. Obviously, it didn't hurt. Then today, again sitting at my desk. just flutters :) it's a GREAT feeling. At first I thought I'd be creeped out by it, but it's awesome.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 18 weeks and don't think I've felt anything yet. I thought I may have the other day, however, am leading myself to believe it was just a little gas. I don't want to get my hopes up and get really excited about it until I know for sure it's the baby. Hoping any day now I will feel some flutters!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm wondering the same thing too. I'm almost 15 weeks and recently I have felt fluttering - but it seems to be higher than what most describe - it's definitely not in my lower abdomen, but closer to my ribs - has anyone else felt something similar?

I'm at 21 weeks and I still don't think I've felt my baby move yet, maybe once or twice, but I'm not really sure, however I can tell when he is right over my bladder or when he is down in the bottom of my belly, there is more pressure than usual, i almost feel like he might fall out lol

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Ther first movement I felt was like hiccups..so cute! Around 4 - 5months. But now, at 32 weeks (7months), I feel her move everytime shes not sleeping! In fact, as you get further along, you will start counting kicks / per hour & during different times of the day. You may notice that your baby is more active at night...so later, when you want to sleep...you can't. It is very exciting, so just be patient* The more active you are, the more active she/he will be* That the difference I've noticed in my 2 pregnancy experiences. My 2nd husband and I have always talked to the baby (in utero). Also, your own voice and having your other children talk and/or sing to him/her may also stimulate movement, as it does for us! Just don't force it to happen...chances are your new baby is mellow and thats a good thing!! If you really want to feel movement, dont be afraid to drink a cup of coffe ; )

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I just started feeling my baby at 20 weeks, but it was very subtle. I was nervous that I was one of the few waiting so long, but it turns out my placenta is in the front of my uterus cushioning baby's movements. My advice if you are anxious like I was is to relax because you could have the same situation. Your doctor and u/s can tell you for sure.

mtuchica |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I started feeling the baby's movements when I was 16 weeks along. I wondered if that's what it was but did not know for sure. It did not feel like "bubble flutters" like everyone was describing it. Instead, it felt like little pinpoint muscle twitches in my abdomen area. When I saw a doctor for spotting, and an exam was done, she informed me that my placenta was in the back, so being that the baby was closer to the front, it was very possibly that for a first-timer, I would be feeling baby early at 16 weeks. What sealed my belief that it was the baby was that these "twitches" got got stronger and more frequent with time. By 20 weeks, I could visibly see my stomach bump, and my husband could feel it too.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I was really worried about this, I am 21w5d pregnant with monozygotic twins, and I have felt them kind of thump around and shift, kind of gassy bubbly feeling, but I hadn't felt a definite kick. Last week I got kicked while I was getting out of the car, and I was pretty excited, and I haven't had a kick since then. But my doctor said it's totally normal and not to worry about it, I'll be getting kicked more than I can handle soon enough.

I felt the first movement around 16 weeks it was the fluttering!!! On Christmas morning is the first time my husband and my mom could feel the baby on the outside... I'm just now 15 weeks and I already feel what feels like popcorn popping in there. I assumed it was probably just gas but at my last ultrasound the popping correlated with my baby's movements. I was very happy and excited :)

I think just women are different...and have different sensitivity levels. I had my first braxton-hicks contractions at 10 weeks.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I never really felt the flutters, but she started to kick on new years eve, which was the day I turned 19 weeks. it felt funny and it had me giggling it was like 'plunk', kinda like someone flicking their finger against my stomach, and since then she hasn't stopped kicking me if I don't feel her kick for longer than a half hour I get worried and make her mad so she'll kick. Sometimes I thing she has a vendetta against my bladder...

i am 17 1/2 weeks now with my second, i felt this one really start kicking the day before i turned 17 weeks, with my first it was around 18 weeks, it differs between pregnancies and between women....you never know, and that's what makes it the greatest surprise ever!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt "twitching" feelings around 16 weeks. I was shocked bcause I had heard most first time pregnancies take longer. At 17 weeks I felt a real nudge. And now at almost 19 weeks, I feel nudges and twitches through the day! Its great! But as they say, everyone is different! I'm small with a small torso, so I popped earlier than some. Makes me wonder if thats why I felt nudges so early. Or maybe I'm just intuned. Not sure! Enjoy it!

I first felt my baby move at 9 weeks 9 days. It was very gentle, but definitely not gas. Sometimes it feels like a feather-like tickle from the inside. So, surprised to feel baby so soon! Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 20 weeks on friday and I would say I have been feeling the baby move when I am lying down for about 2 weeks now and I didnt even know that she was what I was feeling. I recomment in a couple weeks try just laying on your back very quietly ( not for a super long time since you are not suppose to be on your back) and just wait for what feels like well, for me it is kinda like when you stommach is digesting your food, only softer like air bubbles moving around. also sometimes it feels like little muscles spasms. And even this early when I was laying on my back I would feel little jumps in my skin like someone really little softly punched me from the inside.! Enjoy and be blessed!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt a few tiny little flutters around 16 or 17 weeks, but as a first time mom I was unsure (or maybe just more in disbelief) of what I felt. And it was only like 2 or 3 little flutters then nothing. Then I went days without feeling anything. It was like that for a while. Around 19 weeks is when I felt really for sure I know what I'm feeling flutters. I couldn't stop smiling! Now I'm almost 21 weeks and I've been feeling the little pops and tickles multiple times a day every day. They still make me smile. :) What I can hardly wait for now ... the stronger ones that my husband can feel, too!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 17 weeks and have been feeling what I know is the baby for about 3 days now. For me it can feel like a small flutter, and then other times (right after I eat a big meal) it feels like a big ball of dough rolling around. It is so cool! Also when I lightly tap on my belly with my fingertips, I swear the baby reacts!

i'm 32 weeks But I started to feel her around like 16 weeks. i felt her very early. But it was very slow it did indeed feel like indigestion or like I was hungry that bottom of pit like feeling then it would go away. So i definately had some strange experiences with her moving. but now she doesn't sit still lol. I had my bible resting on my stomach and she kicked the bible lol. the whole thing jerked almost out of my hand! I am currently 14 wks with #3. With my daughter (#1) I felt them at 16 wks. With my son (#2) I felt them around 15- 16 wks... I started feeling them this time around about 1-2 wks ago. So with each pregnancy you have chances are more likely that you feel them earlier each time.

I felt my baby kick in week 18 a few times, but she didn't start really kicking and moving around until the end of week 19. It really depends on how big the baby is too. The bigger he/she is, the more likely you are to feel the baby kick. You'll feel it soon. It's an amazing feeling. :)

I am now 17 weeks pregnant with my second child (hopefully a girl, I won't know for another 2 weeks!) and I swear that I have felt her moving since I was a little over 14 weeks, but everyone tells me that is impossible. I KNOW what felt, and it wasn't gas, or nerves. It was my active little girl bumping around, lol. They don't happen often, maybe every other or evry two days, and they aren't huge movements that someone else could feel. They are tiny little bumps a little bit below my belly button. I think that if you are in tune with your body, you will start to notice all kinds of things.

Right at 16 wks I did feel a few flutters for about 3 days, but then NOTHING! Nothing at all for over 4 weeks. It had me a lil worried until today. I'm 1 day shy of being 21 weeks pregnant and I FINALLY felt the kicks! I could feel the bubbles much more strongly as well. I had searched the site looking for what the actual kicks feel like and a lot of people said it feels like you're being tickled from the inside. For me, that's not true, I actually feel little nudges. I felt 3 little nudges in a row, as if someone was poking you gently with their finger. I'm in love!! <3

be patient it's coming! This is my first baby and I started feeling little butterfly feelings at about 18wks. By the end of the same week I felt a 10 min show of kicks from him one night. My mom could even feel him with her hand on my belly! It's the best feeling ever!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm almost 12 weeks, and I've felt the baby for the past few nights. It feels like someone very lightly running their fingers right above my pubic bone. I can only feel it for a minute or so and it's only when I'm completely still and calm.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I heard some people have felt their baby move as early as 13 weeks! I think it's different for everyone. I swear I felt the baby move this morning while laying in bed @ 4am. I'm in my 15th week and it felt like little flutters/tickling sensation in my lower tummy. Pretty cool feeling, unlike anything I have ever felt before.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Hi,I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and have felt twitches but only now and again. Found out last week that I'm having twins and would feel them kick early on in my pregnancy.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I don't really have an answer, mine is a question. I feel small jabs, almost like little kicks, but im 17 weeks. Everything I read says that I shouldn't be feeling real movement yet, just flutters, but im pretty sure this is kicking..and its always in the same spot, is that normal? It just started happening like last week.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I FINALLY felt the little guy kick around 22 weeks! It was, and still is the best feeling in the world! Everytime he's kicks I can't help but smile:) My coworkers might actually think I'm crazy because I'll just sit at my desk and smile randomly throughout the day...its amazing!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 18 weeks pregnant, and I think I have felt the baby move a couple of weeks ago and off and on since then. It felt like air bubbles fluttering through my abdomen. Other than the first time, I've had to press on my tummy with my hand in order to really feel it. Wish I knew for sure!!! BabyFruit Ticker

AutumnPaige22 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 21 weeks and just started feeling the baby move yesterday - kind of like little jabs I guess :) The ultrasound tech told me I wouldn't feel it until until about now because my placenta is anterior. Easiest to feel laying down.

MrsDahling |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I wish I was feeling mine! This is my first, and I'm 19 weeks, & days. I have felt "air Bubbles" on two occasions that MAY have been it, but nothing conclusive. I can't wait to KNOW it's the baby and not Gas. I find out the sex next week and get to see my baby on an ultrasound for the very first time!!! Hope y'all get to feel yours move soon too!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 15 wks pregnant with my first and have felt slight movement since 14 wks. Was very suprised when i first felt it because i was nto expecting it so soon, especially with my first. it feels like little bubbles or butterflies and i dont feel it every day...and its only when i am very still or lying on one side.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first child. I felt a couple of "flutters" around 16 weeks but since then I haven't really felt much if anything. If I do feel something I swear it is gas. Is this normal? The nurse also couldn't find her heartbeat/movement on the last ultrasound right away. I am nervous about it. Could someone tell me that there is nothing to worry about please?

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 15 weeks and I first felt fluttering one night at around 13 weeks but have not reallly noticed anything because I am always filled with gas.

philliejean |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I didn't feel anything until about 20 weeks, the doctor said that people who've had children before tend to feel the movement earlier than others who haven't. Also, they are so small, it's hard to feel the movement until they become larger. She's about 1.5 pounds right now & I feel her move after I eat/have a cold drink and put my feet up.

nsheth1 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 18 weeks. For my first two pregnancies it felt like forever before I felt the baby move, but with this one i can feel the baby move. It's not exactly what I would call "kicking" but I can feel him/her moving. It happens earlier for some later than others. Remember they hardly weigh anything right now I remember reading at 8 weeks they are about 5oz. So the bigger the baby gets, the sooner you will be able to feel him/her. :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I was probably around 18weeks when i felt the flutters and yes i can only feel them usually when im sitting or laying down but thats ok because it brings a smile to my face all the time and it was constant everytime i sat down. I felt the actual kick and the seen the movement when i was bout 20-21 weeks i felt it kick for the first time and saw it budge out for the first time and that just made me so happy! probably the best night ever! But that was the only time i had felt it otherwise its back to the flutters. I am 22weeks now so im just waiting till i can feel it more :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy and I felt the little bubbles around week 14-15, and I started feeling harder kicks around 16-17 weeks. I am very thin, was 90 lbs when I got pregnant. My husband was able to feel the baby around week 16 also.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy. I'm 13 weeks and 3 days, and i sometimes feel little flutters, but sometimes i think it's just gas bubbles haha. (: i'm really thin, about 90 pounds. does that mean i'm gonna feel it sooner? when i had my ultrasound at 10 weeks and 5 days, they said that the baby was really wiggly. does that make a difference?

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

When I was pregnant with my first baby I was very intune with my body and all the changes. I would lay in bed every night and focus on how my body was feeling on the inside. Around 12 weeks I felt like butterfly wings touching me on the inside of my tummy. I never had these feelings, they were not like gas bubbles, they were lighter and quick er than anything I ever felt.So I knew it was my baby. At night before I fell asleep I would make quiet time to feel her. If you're body is still your baby will be easier to feel. SO IF YOU WANT TO FEEL BABY MOVEMENTS RELAX AND MEDITATE ON YOUR GROWING TUMMY.

swjw95 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 19 weeks with my third child. The first I felt kick at 14 wks, the second at 12 wks. I have not felt anything yet with this one. He was active on his first ultrasound at 3 months and didn't move at all on the ultrasound at 18 wks but had a strong steady heartbeat. I've only gained 8 lbs and considered average built (weight 130 as of yesterday) so I should be feeling something by now. I'm worried even after the last ultrasound since I'm high risk.

RobynHinojosa |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

First movements feel like butterflies in there, even fuzzy. I am a first time mom and felt my son for the first time in the middle of the night laying on my stomach around 15.5 weeks. From there, the movement begins to feel like a mass moving around between your belly button and pelvic bone. I would describe it as a ball rolling around. I felt the first strong kick at 17 weeks. It is basically unmistakable, and can easily be differentiated from gas. Because baby is still so small, I can go several days without feeling movement because of positioning. Some days, he goes nuts all day, some days I do not feel him at all. I can't wait to get to the point where I feel him consistently!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am a first time mom at 20 weeks and I think I felt the first movement yesterday! It is so odd not knowing if that was what I felt!!!!!!!!!! It hasn't happened again and I am patiently waiting...

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt flutters for the first time when I was 15 weeks and 6 days. It felt like my tummy was rumbling, like when you're hungry or your food is digesting but it didn't make any noise and I didn't pass any gas so that's how I knew they were flutters and not gas. I felt my baby boy kick for the first time when I was 18 weeks and 4 days. It felt like a big gas bubble popping. Once again I knew it wasn't gas because it happened 4 times in a row. For a week or so the kicks were very inconsistent but they were there. Now I am 20 weeks and 1 day and I feel him kicking a few times everyday, my boyfriend was even able to feel it today and when he kicks you can see my tummy jump. My friends husband didn't feel their son kick until 21 weeks so it's def true that everyone and every pregnancy is different and there is no way to know when it will happen to you. You just have to wait but when it happens you will know.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am a first time mom -small framed- and started feeling flutters at 14 weeks. I am now 21/ almost 22 weeks and i can feel such a big difference from when i started feeling those first flutters! They tend to feel like a gentle jab/pulsing. I tend to be quit a night owl staying up past 2 am most nights and that is when i feel him the most. About 15 min. after i eat and late at night when i am laying down. Lately i have been getting him to move after i eat ice cream lol

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

It didn't feel like flutters to me at all...You know when your eye twitches sometimes? That's what it felt like except of course it was in my abdomen. I felt him kick when I was 17-18 weeks but didn't realize that was him kicking until I was 20 weeks. I'm 22 weeks now and I can feel him kick every day. Some days more then others though. Sometimes he will kick so much that my stomach will giggle.

I'm 17 weeks and felt some "fluttering". I felt my little one at 15 weeks 6 days! It felt like a muscle twitch. When I explained it to my husband I told him it was comparable to your eye twitching. I felt it on and off for about 10 minutes. Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

It seemed like for me I could never find on any discussion boards or anything any woman who didn't feel movement untl later and I was starting to freak out about it. So I just want to give any ladies not feeling it for awhile some good news. I am 23 weeks now and I didn't feel it until 22 weeks and 4 days. It really is fluttery feeling and kind of makes me want to giggle. On the upside, though I didn't feel it for awhile I now feel the movements several times per day, every day.

This is our third baby, everything seems to be happening a lot sooner in our pregnancy.. I am started showing sooner, the flutters are early on and I "felt" pregnant at 4 weeks (before I was even late), took a test and well... here we are. :) i think it's different for everyone, so some may feel it sooner than others.

I am 18.5 weeks and petite. I thought this was early for a first time mother, but I think I felt the first flutter of movement when I was laying down in bed reading baby books last night and finally relaxing! Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm at 13 weeks 4 days with my first baby. At today's appointment with my midwife, we could hear the swishing noises of the baby's movements on the doppler machine. I thought it felt funny because each time we heard movements, I felt a slight vibration where the wand was. When I let her know what I was feeling, she told me the wand doesn't create any physical sensations and what I was feeling was the baby kicking! Apparently, its common for the baby to wiggle and kick from the pressure of the doppler or ultrasound wand. It was such a surprise-I wasn't expecting to feel any flutters for another few weeks! Best feeling ever!

I am at 17 weeks today, and this past Sunday, during the last part of the last quarter of the Pats-Bills game, I started feeling the flutters. I am a few days shy of 14 weeks and I'm not positive, but pretty sure I felt the quickening yesterday. I was at work, very busy, and all of a sudden I was stopped in my tracks when right where the doctor said the baby is I felt a tightening, then it felt like a little tiny fish did a flip flop, then everything relaxed. I know for certain it wasn't gas, hunger, or anything else I've read that can be confused with baby flutters! I definately wasn't expecting it this early!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm a first-time mom and first suspected I felt movement at 15 weeks. I am now 20 weeks and a friend was just able to feel her kick by putting her hand on my belly. How soon you can feel movement can be affected by your weight and the position of your uterus. Mine is in the back, which is why I've been able to feel the little gal so much.Try spending some quiet time each day relaxing and focusing on your belly...you'll feel those movements soon! I'd describe them as a fish out of water, but most people say butterfly...

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 13 weeks and a first-time mom. I was SO excited to feel my first flutter last night!!! I was out to dinner at a noisy mexican restaurant when I felt a little flutter (slightly on my left side) that stopped me cold (and to get me to stop eating these days is a miracle!). My SO didn't take me seriously but it was another one of those life-changing moments for me! I had read that 1st time moms usually don't recognize the movements as quickly as repeat moms but my friend had described the sensation to me so when it happened it registered. Phew! I feel so fortunate! Praying for more. This is the part I've been looking so forward to!!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 21 weeks and the first time I felt him move it scared me, I wan't expecting it! Now I think I'm getting used to it though. It seems like an alarm clock because at about the same time every morning it's as if by kicking and moving around he's telling me "Mommy, it's time to get up and eat! I'm hungry!" His moves and kicks crack me up because it's almost as if he can tell me when he likes something or doesn't by how many kicks he sends out and out much he moves. I love it!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 11 weeks and I SWEAR I felt the baby move the other day! Call me crazy (or blame it on gas!) but I was sitting really still but i felt this one flutter, and I have a mommy-feeling that it really was the baby- it was different than anything else I've felt before and I just know it was my little Love making him/her self at home. Can't wait to feel more!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

The first couple of times I felt my baby move I still wasn't sure if it was her- or just indigestion or gas... I'm 24 weeks now and feel her move, kick, squirm... quite often. I notice it more while I am sitting or laying down. The best way I've heard it described is like a fish tail switching directions super quickly inside of you! By the way, you most likely won't be able to feel movement from the outside. My husband gets upset all of the time because he keeps his hand on my tummy waiting to feel her but can't... even when it feels like she's doing gymnastics on the inside!

Try not to worry. I didn't feel my first distinctive kick until I was 24 weeks (just this last Thursday) the undeniable kick where I wasn't like, "Was that him or was that gas?" Now, it's been NON STOP :) My husband can finally feel him through my belly too, it's truly amazing and well worth the wait!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I could've sworn I felt the fluttering everyone talks about around 12.5 weeks...I know that's early, but my ultrasound showed a very active little person at the previous sonogram, so I'm guessing the little person in there is just wiggling away!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 17 weeks pregnant (as of today) with our first baby. I was sitting in class yesterday, waiting for our instructor to start talking. All of a sudden I felt a mini punch right in my lower abdomen. I instantly thought "BABY!", but then I started thinking maybe it was something else. So I sat really still for a minute or so and felt another quick one-two baby punch. Ever since then I can feel baby moving around at all different times of the day. I am really excited because I didn't really "feel pregnant" until I felt baby move yesterday, not even when I heard his or her heartbeat. Try taking a few minutes a day to just sit still and maybe you will feel it soon too. I hope this helps.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 19 weeks tommorow and feel flutters every now and then. I may feel them one day and then not for a few more days after that. Its perfectly normal to feel a little flutter or two then nothing for a few days.. baby is still really small still. :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am now 19 weeks along, but I started feeling the baby move at 16 weeks. I don't understand why the bump is saying that you will have a hard time discerning movements if you are overweight. I am overweight and I had no problem feeling the baby move. glenn beck radio

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am in my tenth wk with my third child and three days ago I felt quickening, so exciting! Ofcourse the more kids you have the quicker you may feel baby move. First time moms may feel between 18 to 22 wks baby is so tiny still @ that gestational age.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

well im 17 weeks and ive been feeling movement since i was 13 weeks cause my mom decided to take a led flashlight to my tummy which made the baby a lot more active so if you are a nervous mom and would like to feel you baby kick a lot trace your tummy with an LED Flashlight or get your hand cold and place it on your lower stomach this usually makes my little one bounce around xD good luck momma's.

its different for everyone but the more kids you have, the sooner you feel it. i'm 10 weeks with number 5, and i feel it already. i went to the hospital at 8 weeks, and while they were doing my ultrasound, i felt him/her kicking and when the ultrasound was being done, the lady was like, wow, you've got a kicker! she didn't believe me when i told her i could feel it, but she did once she saw!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt my son kick when I was 17 wks, 1 day. It felt like a little poke, then a popping bubble. It's gotten really strong since then! I guess that makes sense because he rolled and squirmed and clapped all during his u/s!

kmarie |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt nothing at all for the first 22 weeks, which is when I felt the first flutter. We felt the first real kicks, where my husband could feel it too, at 26 weeks. What a relief! I was getting scared.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 16 weeks and I like to lie on my back or lean back on the couch and I push down slightly on my uterus, and remain still, and usually I will feel him( or her) moving around. It feels a lot different than a gas bubble. Don't worry about thinking your pushing too hard, they are pretty safe in there. Just a little pressure will make them move :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 20 weeks along.. and I swore I felt the baby move for the last two weeks! But at the OB they told me it was too early for me to feel the baby moving.. And I am TINY! I am 5' 2" and I've only gained 6 lbs.. probably will feel the baby in the next month though.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am currently 26 weeks and feel him all the time. I was trying so hard to feel it in the beginning, but all I could feel is my heartbeat in my fingers. I thought I felt a few flutters around 16 weeks, but I would then pass gas, so I wasn't sure! I "officially" felt him at 20 weeks. It was undeniable. My dh could feel it that same night! It went from nothing at all, to nonstop! Try laying on the couch, propping yourself up a little bit...on a pillow or the arm of the couch. I have trouble feeling him when lying flat.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am a first time mom and I was worried when I had not felt the baby kick yet at 25 weeks. We found out through ultrasound that the placenta sac is in between the baby and my stomach so when he kicks it takes the blunt force and I cannot feel it. I am now 28 weeks and can only feel him kick when I am lying down and it is very very low. My hubby can place his head on my tummy and hear him move and kick. I have also experienced this through stethoscope.

I think it all depends, each pregnancy is different. I'm 16 weeks now and I first felt him/her at 13 weeks. I didn't feel anything for the next couple of days but shortly after that it started up again and I feel something all the time now. It's so exciting, each time it's like the first for me.

I am 13 weeks. Although I cannot feel my baby moving, I can definitely see my stomach moving. You can tell when he/she is more to the side because that side of my tummy is raised up. I am not surprised since the doctor said at my last ultrasound that the baby is very active and had a hard time taking a picture with the ultrasound machine. Very exciting, yet freaky. This is baby is my first...can't wait until the real kicks and jabs start ;) LOL

Lauren&Matt12 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first baby and I started to feel movement late but because of the ultrasounds I knew she was okay and active, I just couldn't pinpoint her movements. A few times I think I felt something but it was so quick and then wouldn't happen again so I couldn't be sure (this was around 20 weeks). I am 27 weeks now and I feel her everyday usually a bit in the morning, again around suppertime and again at night when I get into bed I feel her settling in :) I would still say the movements feel more like flutters than kicks but they last longer than initial flutters & sometimes even feel like I am being twisted inside out...very weird but truly amazing. My husband was able to feel her move for the first time at 26 weeks.

spammer1979 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

At about 18 weeks I had this odd jab closer to my pelvic region, it just felt like something giving a quick kick or punch out, then it was gone so I thought well, maybe that was it. Same thing happened a few days later. It didn't happen frequently so I was worried that if it was that, and I wasn't feeling them, something was wrong but at my 20w 4d u/s last night, she's definitely moving like at each previous ultrasound! She squirmed so much they couldn't get accurate measurements on her heart and head so lucky us, we get an extra ultrasound. And just the other day, I was laying on the couch and just felt some quick jabs on my bladder, about 4-5 in 10 minutes. I was alarmed at first until I realized what it was. Then she kicked wayyy hard, she takes after me obviously haha. I also felt a few quick flutters today since they were poking around her playground last night...It still doesn't feel quite real yet, I'm sure when I can see her actually moving in there (or getting rib kicks), it'll be real enough!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy and I felt the first couple of flutters at 9 weeks. Everyone said it was just gas...but clearly everyone has had gas before and knows what that feels like. This was a feeling I had never felt before. It didn't happen often, but about one or two a week until about 16 weeks when I started to feel it almost every day. Now at 18 weeks the baby is rolling around like crazy. So much so that sometimes it makes me feel a little naseous. lol

With my first I felt him pretty early, he was very very active though. I first felt him towards the end of my 13th week and by the time I was 20 weeks he was like a little kickboxer in there. I am pregnant with my second and have a lot of gas feelings and am not sure if I will be able to tell the difference at first. It depends on how attuned to your body you are, how much the baby moves, where you are carrying.... so many things factor into it.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

everyone's body and experience is different. this is my first pregnancy and i have been feeling my baby kick since i was at least 13 weeks if not earlier. for me, it felt like tiny little taps coming from inside my tummy. my friend felt her baby at 8 weeks and thought it was just gas. some people think it feels like flutters or butterflies, and others mistake it for something else completely. although you may feel excited about it now, wait until you do feel it! as exciting as it is, my baby does nothing but beat up my poor bladder, and i have 19.5 weeks left of this!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Every woman & every pregnancy is different, so definitely don't stress if you think it's "later" than you think it should be. I'm almost 13 weeks with twins & felt the first definite movement about 2 weeks ago. Before that I thought I felt something but not positive, but that time I looked down & saw my belly moving! Since it's twins & IVF I've had 4 ultrasounds, the last 2 you could definitely see those babies moving all over. Very cool! Best of luck to everyone :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I heard that we should hear gas bubbles or flutters at around 16 weeks. I'm 16 weeks too and I heard gas bubbling in my lower abdomen area the other night when I's lying in bed. I heard they said that you would not hear that very often until in the next few weeks.

dodo1202 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Okay well Im about to 10weeks and this is my second baby. I cannot feel the flutters outside but I defiantly do on the inside. Usually at the end of my day when i am laying down. I know its the baby because I got an ultrasound and he/she was moving around like crazy. I know the difference between gas and my baby. I am very blessed right now to be carrying this baby because I lost my son at 26w when I was 16 due to a genetic disorder. I have a feeling this baby is going to be very healthy :)

1st time mom, currently at 14 weeks. I've been pretty lucky because for the last week or so I have been feeling the baby roll. I am one of those "in touch with your body" people and I am in good shape. It is the most amazing thing I have ever felt. There is definitely time (in days) between movements, but I have never felt anything like it before and given the location, I know that's what it is. What a blessing. :) <3

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 15 weeks but I truly believe the last few nights I am woken up by our baby moving around a little. Before pregnancy I weighed 105lbs and lost weight due to morning sickness and dropped to 100lbs. I'm starting to show slightly and can feel where my uterus has expanded. I wish there was a way to tell if it truly is the baby or just gas or even just my hopes of it being the baby. We go back to the dr. on july 9th but no ultrasound 4 weeks later we'll found out the gender :) I can't wait.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 18 weeks and I started feeling "flutters or bubbles" of my little guy moving around. I wasn't sure at first but to me there is a clear difference in gas/indigestion and baby movement. I notice them when I am sitting down or laying down and he he very active after I eat. I suggest eat something and then lay on your side and relax and hopefully you will feel something if you haven't already.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 17w3d and I felt the first movement I was certain of yesterday. I've been feeling flutters which I wasn't sure about since week 14, but I was kicked hard enough in the middle of a work meeting that I JUMPED! According to my mother I was a big kicker, too, so I have a lot more movement to look forward to.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I just thought I'd chime in for any other "pleasantly plump" women out there who are concerned they won't feel their baby kick. I was worried about it too, and thought what I was feeling for a couple of weeks was just gas because pretty much everything told me I probably wouldn't feel it until later. But that wasn't the case. It was the baby moving around, at about 18 weeks. I know every woman is different, but it IS possible and not unlikely to feel your baby early even if you have extra meat on the bones. I did!

Everyone is different so there is no need to worry. Flutters are not as obvious but believe me, you will KNOW when you are getting kicked! :) I felt flutters at 14 weeks and kicks at 18. I'm now 23 and I can even see my belly move sometimes. My placenta is posterior which is probably why I felt movement earlier. Try to be patient, it's an amazing feeling! :)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 21/22 weeks and have FINALLY felt a little kick from my baby boy :-) My placenta is anterior so I knew it would be harder for me to feel anything. I could feel him moving around on the inside but nothing if I put my hand on my tummy... until just recently. It was when I was laying still and quiet watching TV and I knew he was moving around. I laid my hand on where I was feeling it and I got that first bump! It was such a great experience a s a first time Mom-to-be and I cannot wait to feel more of these as I get closer to our December ETA.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 14 weeks and I have been feeling little flutters and little kicks for a week now.It is amazing!! When my husband and I went to get our first trimester screening the ultra sound tech couldn't believe how much the little guy was moving ( and yes she told us 90% sure its a boy already) She said it doesn't surprise her that I can feel him moving already. I feel like hes always on the go!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is going to sound implausible but it is true. I am nine weeks and have been feeling flutters for about a week. This is my second child so i don't know if that has anything to do with it or if it is just all the innards adjusting to LO.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am a little overweight since my first child, but i felt this one move at 14 weeks. i am 17 weeks now and loving it. For my first i still was not small but also felt him at 14 weeks. It makes me laugh at the myths of heavier woman not feeling their babies move until much later because of size. Not true.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm a ftm, and I'm 18 wks Still haven't felt any movement, but the doctor says that everything sounds good heartbeat wise, so I'm not too concerned. I'm ready for the daily stuff that tells me everything's ok though. I'm ready for it to move!! I felt a little something last night, but I'm not convinced it was the baby, so I'm just trying to wait patiently! (It's not going too well!)

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I would think gas would hurt (more so near the lower back in my experience). My first son's kicks felt like gas (bubbles), but without the pain, and that started around 15 or 16 weeks. I'm 14 weeks along now, so hopefully I'll feel something soon!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 20 weeks and have definitely felt movement now. At first it felt like this...if you fill a hot water bottle and press one side you can feel the water ripple and move, well thats what it felt like. Then movement progressed to the sort of feeling you have when your tummy rumbles and its really hungry! Now i'm definitely getting jabs and my husband actually felt them for the first time this morning!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 21 weeks and I just felt my first kick yesterday! I started feeling flutters around 18 weeks, but I just got my first kick, and it was enough that my mother in law was able to feel. Truly the most amazing feeling in the world! And today my poor cat was laying on my stomach and he kicked her! Poor thing she's terrified to come near me now. Haha I just can't wait until they're more consistent.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 17 weeks and have been a little worried that I haven't been feeling much. Lower abdomen flutters but I'm a practical person and have been plagued with gas this pregnancy so I'm not exactly sure. Boyfriend says it's because he's in there meditating which made me feel so much better :) so cute, zen baby!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Every pregnancy is different for every woman. The doctors and the books say around 15 to 16 weeks......I STRONGLY believe that it could be sooner....but then again REMEMBER...IT'S DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE !!! I am 12 weeks and 1 day pregnant with my second child, and I have felt my little one push (what feels like ) his/her back against my abdomen. I don't care what the doctors and their studies have shown. I KNOW that what I'm feeling is the baby. I felt my first child move at an early stage in my pregnancy (maybe 12 weeks), so why not MY SECOND ONE ?? Anyways, there was a thump that made me jump...and when I palpated where the thump came from...it was in my lower abdomen on the mid-right section. My abdomen was soft on the left side....but more solid on the right side. My abdomen stayed solid for about five minutes....and when I continued to touch and wiggle that area with my hand.....the solid mass that was about 2 inches long..DISAPPEARED ! I have felt that TWICE within 1 week......the second time didn't last as long, but I know that it was my munchkin....and not gas !! :~) I was so EXCITED to feel him/her move......It felt as if the little one was pushing his/her back against my abdomen......(similar to a person moving a large filing cabinet with his/her back), It was the CUTEST ! ! !

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I felt baby's 1st movements at 13 weeks 6 days. I am a petite frame and at the time had yet to gain any weight. I was laying down for a nap when I felt some movement, a push, and then a roll. It was very distinct and my hand was on my stomach so I could tell it wasn't gas. Since then (one week) the little one has been wiggling for about 15 seconds every other day and it's becoming more clear what it's doing. :D

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 24 weeks with my 2nd and I first felt this baby move at 16 weeks. I was so anxious to feel the baby move and now she never stops! Sometimes when I am trying to rest or go to sleep I feel like telling her "enough already lol!" However I have noticed major differences between my first pregnancy and 2nd. My first I never really felt her jab or punch me but that is all this one does, She is constantly hitting and kicking me! My first would stretch and get up under my ribs and roll but, hardly ever kick and punch so I would def say each pregnancy is different.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

here's a good tip, if you are unsure try some quick cardio exercise(something safe for your time, please!!!), just enough to get your heartbeat up for 5 mins. Then cool down and wait. If you sit quietly you just might feel your baby reacting to the endorphin rush. I started a little cardio while my 1st son sleeps and I find that it gets the 14 week fetus moving right after I work out and then usually causes a huge dance party late at night while I'm starting to fall asleep as well.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm a first-time mom and very thin (size 2 pre-pregnancy). I'm pretty sure I first felt it at around 14 weeks. It was not very often, and it was kind of like gas bubbles, but...different. I can't describe it, but pretty sure it was the baby because it didn't feel like anything else I'd ever felt. It became really obvious by about 17 weeks, and I could feel it from the outside at 18 weeks. I'm now 23 weeks and the baby is very active several times each day--it's so cool to feel! All of you who are 20 weeks or so and haven't felt anything: don't worry, everyone's different! There's even people on that "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" show who swear they never felt the baby the whole time they were pregnant.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I haven't read very many posts from people experiencing movement in the same way as I do, but I'm almost 20 weeks and for the past 2-3 weeks I've felt pressure very low in my belly. Every so often it almost feels like a gas bubble, and then it disappears. My lower stomach/uterus gets hard on my left side, like I can feel her head or something pressing on my stomach. I haven't felt many (if any) flutters, though! Weird!

JessicaG220 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Well I'm 14 weeks and I've felt flutters around my 12th week and now very rarely If I sit still and put my had on my lower belly, I can feel very small quick movements.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

Second time mom, I'm 13 weeks preggo and I felt the first movement at 10 weeks. I now feel the fetus moving all the time, especially when sitting or laying on my side. When my hubby touches my belly, it really moves for him. I can't wait until he's able to feel the baby as well. I'm hoping that's within the next couple weeks. Super excited!

The first "flutter" that I felt was sporadic at 16 weeks, but it was between 22-23 weeks that I felt the first "kicks". Then again this is my first time and I had no idea what I was to be expecting!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am 15 weeks, First time mommy. I HAVE felt my little bundle of joy! The first time was when I was laughing and it took me by total surprise it felt like a whole bunch of butterflies! and the second time I was laying down reading "The Bump" Website actually and talking about everything and I could feel a movement not just once or twice in a row, which I have had and thought of as gas, but many little slight movements! It was the most magical thing ever.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

With my first pregnancy it was about 16-17 weeks that I could feel flutters when I was still/lying down. I am pregnant with my second and have felt it move since about 13 weeks. I have been told by MDs that it depends on your size and how the placenta is attached to your uterus. Hope this helps.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I am almost 17 weeks and this is my first and I am pretty sure I have been feeling my baby move around a little but I am not sure. I know it is impossible for someone to tell me for sure. A lot of people told me it feels like gas bubbles....without he gas and thats pretty much how it feels. Sometimes it feels like bubbles popping or just bubbles rolling around in my lower belly. I really hope it is my baby! I just wish I knew for sure!!!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 20 weeks now and started feeling movement at about 16 weeks. It doesn't feel like butterflies so much as it feels like a gentle sensation of something rolling around. It's pretty awesome! I get a bit freaked out if I go a day without noticing anything, but I figure that the baby must be moving when I'm moving and I don't notice it. Now that I'm a bit further along, sometimes I can feel it when I'm walking! I still can't feel anything with my hands on my belly, and my hubby is so anxious to be able to feel kicks for himself with his own hands!

Lambert26 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

It all depends on you and the baby. You may have already been feeling some signs just not real clear. It may be soon if you've already had a child? Kicks are not strong until later but you may feel like gas pains/bubbles or fluttering. I felt movement with this one at 13 weeks and I'm 14 now. It's interesting because it's down low most of the time and not real clear. I mostly feel it in the evenings and when laying/relaxing. Dad and others won't feel it until a lot later probably. Eventually though you'll SEE movement... elbows and knees probably!!! That's interesting and exciting!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 13 almost 14 weeks this is my second pregnancy and I felt movement at the beginning of this week. Flutters. With my first, it was twins so when they started, it was crazy. Like they were doing somersaults lol. Good luck and congrats to you on your baby!!!!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I first felt the baby move at 12 weeks.. this is my first pregnancy. If I laid very still and slowed my breathing I could feel the little butterfly movements on my hand, but otherwise I don't feel anything. It's easy to distinguish between the baby and digestive movements, because I can usually feel food/drink moving through my tummy without feeling for it with my hand. When it's the baby I can't feel anything without holding my hand where the baby is. Is pretty exciting! I become obsessed with feeling the movements for as long as possible haha

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my second baby, and since I know now what to expect, I have felt this baby's small flutters very early (13 weeks). It's only happened a few times, but I am fairly sure it was baby and not gas. For me it feels like someone is very, very lightly tickling me from the inside; sometimes it almost wants to make me scratch that part of my belly. With my daughter those flutters lasted for a few weeks, and then the day before my 19 week ultrasound I felt my first "hard" kick. I hope this helps the first-time moms out!

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first and on exactly 8 wks, I felt fluttering for the first time. It lasted for a moment or two and thankfully, my husband's hand was on my belly so he was able to feel it too. I know it's not kicking yet, but knowing that this movement that I was feeling was my baby and not just a nervous reaction or figment of my imagination was exciting! I can't wait for the later stages when the baby is kicking and flipping and moving around...and hopefully, baby won't make me eat my words! LOL

arcangel03 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

You'll probably call me crazy, but I thought I possibly felt movement at ten and a half weeks, but I felt the same movement at twelve and a half weeks, and I know it wasn't gas, because TMI, I've had a lot of that and it was similar but definitely not . I'm not that surprised honestly, because when we saw baby for the first time at ten weeks, he was moving around like crazy! Kickin and wiggling, it was amazing. I've looked it up, and some women say it possible, it's just more common in women who have had more than one already.

maeghanrobin23 |

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm 20 weeks with our first and started feeling the baby about a week ago. The "fluttering" and "poking" I kept hearing I would have seemed more like muscle spasms in my lower abdomen to me. Today it started working itself around more. I asked my mom and she said hers felt the same way so if you aren't sure if you've had them, think of muscle spasms and that may help you narrow down what to feel for. What's really awesome is when you can feel it with your hand cuz then your husband will be able to. Our baby kicks the most when I'm sitting straight up so even though everyone's different, try that and see if you feel anything.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I'm at 14 weeks and felt the first flutter yesterday. We had just had our Nucal Translucency screening and baby was bouncing around like a ball under the ultrasound, making it a little hard to get a good picture and heart rate at first. Afterwards, while waiting for the blood draw I felt the flutter, I'd never felt anything like it before. My Spousal Unit thinks the ultrasound made baby mad and that's why my LO was kicking around so much.

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

I started feeling our son around 15 weeks as just the "subtle" flutters referred to here. However, by 19 weeks his movements were no longer gentle or subtle. My son was kicking me EVERYDAY and pretty hard to the point where it became extremely uncomfortable. Now at nearly 22 weeks I'm dreading the fact that these kicks and jabs are just going to become more frequent and more powerful over the next four months. Oh joy...

Q&A: When will I feel baby kick?

This is my first pregnancy, so I definitely am no expert. I am 19 weeks and people keep asking me if I have felt the baby move. I have felt little twitches but was not sure if that was just wishful thinking. I went yesterday for my anatomy scan (a boy:) and the US tech told me my placenta is anterior, or between baby and the front of my stomach, so I won't feel as many kicks as what other people feel. This made me feel a lot better, especially since my little boy is doing great! Hope this helps calm someone's fears.
