What can I say when people ask me how much weight I've gained?
Funny how people somehow think this is an appropriate question, right? If you don’t feel like sharing the poundage, evade the question. Here are a few phrases that might help.
"Oh, enough! This baby sure likes chocolate."
"So far, so good—the doctor says I’m right on track with her expectations."
"Not as much as I thought I would. I think the yoga classes are helping."
"Ha. You can really tell the baby’s growing, right? It’s started kicking now too."
Resist the urge to dig back with, "I see you’ve gained weight too. How much?" Tempting, we know -- but not so nice.
