Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I called yesterday to schedule my first doc visit. They didn't schedule me until the middle of my 9th week. Is that okay? --carriem428

The Bump Expert

We typically schedule low risk patients for their first visit at around eight or nine weeks. There are some cases when we recommend women come to the office earlier (when they have a positive pregnancy test), such as if a woman has had recurrent early pregnancy losses or if she needs to be on blood thinners for a known blood clotting disorder.

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

Wow! I was just about to make a post like yours today, because the same thing happened to me. I just found out I am about four weeks along. My doctor did not schedule me for an appt. until my 8th week as well, so it is a huge relief that someone else was in the same situation. Thanks for sharing.

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

Weird that some doctors are different - mine's policy for low-risk 1st prenatal appts are to come in at 6 weeks, but since I have a history of miscarriage, they have me come in as soon as possible after a positive pregnancy test to check my hormones and do an ultrasound. It just drives you crazy not knowing what's going on inside your own body, doesn't it?!

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

Well, I guess I am lucky. I am about 4 weeks and my doctor sheduled me for an appointment at 6 weeks. I wish I could go now!

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I have a history of m/c as well. With my last pregnancy, I was scheduled by (a military) doctor to have my first appt at 10 weeks. I misscarried in my mid ninth week. Frustrating.

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

My OB won't see me until 8 weeks as well. I'm in my 5th week now and it's absolute agony waiting until that appointment! I thought the 1st trimester was supposed to be super important to the baby's development. If nothing else, an earlier appointment would at the very least make us moms feel better..

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I don't have my first appoinment until my 13th week. I'm 8 weeks right now and I though it was a little long to wait but that's the date they gave me. I didn't know it was unusual...

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I called today to schedule an appointment and she put me in for tomorrow. I am super excited. We have been trying for 8 months now. I am 54 days late and took a test a week ago and it was negative. I took one last night and it was positive. YEAH!

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

My first appt. is going to be at 8 weeks. Although, since I had an early m/c in the past, the dr's office has done a series of beta's and two u/s already and I'm only 6 weeks.

I called the doctor and they scheduled me for the next monday, I was only four weeks along... but my next appointment is not until I am 12 weeks... This seems like a long time, especially since I did not even see the doctor at the first appt, I just saw a nurse...

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I just found out yesterday that I am not only pregnant but I'm about 7 1/2 weeks! After several negative home tests and a negative test at the free clinic (just this month)...we were starting to worry. My first appt. isn't until the end of the month which will put me at about 11 weeks.

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I've been going to the same doctor for about 10 years, so I'm not sure if that makes any difference. He saw me as soon as I called on New Years Eve! I was 5 weeks and I go back at 7 weeks. At the first appointment they did an pelvic exam, pregnancy test, test for some stds (apparently standard procedure) and we had a long talk about what I should expect and the dos and do nots.

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I found out earlier this week that I am pregnant. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks. My doctor also wanted to schedule my appointment at 7-8 weeks, but once I reminded her that I had an ecopic in my early 20's, they scheduled my appointment for my 5th week. I am so excited...but I have never had time drag like this in my life. I just want to make sure that this isn't another ectopic...and the waiting is driving me crazy.

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I called and my doctor schedule me without even asking me how far I thought I was. I'll be 5 weeks when I go. I'm assuming, like most of you who are getting right in to your docs, it will just be the basic exam, and test. We'll see!

I will be 11 weeks by the time I get in to the doctor at the end of this month, but my doc said that they want to see you between 8-12 weeks. I started taking prenatals as soon as I found out I was pregnant. It is making me nervous to wait that long though, because I worry that I may be "more pregnant" than I think I am!!

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

Don't be afraid to call your Dr. back and reschedule for earlier. I'm a first-timer and was really nervous and excited about my pregnancy but my Dr. scheduled me for 7 weeks. I just had too many questions and it seemed like an eternity so I called back and bumped it up to my fifth week. A lot of my questions got answered and I felt a little relieved. My real testing is in another 3 weeks but at least I've already seen my Dr!

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

Same here. I found out last Thursday(Valentine's Day) that I am pregnant. I called Friday and my appt. is when I am 8 weeks pregnant. My ob-gyn said that they wait 8 weeks so they can do a vaginal ultrasound. I guess we can all wait in agony together!!! Has anyone else taken 5 pregnancy tests to confirm like I have. We have been trying since May so I am still shocked!!!

I've taken 3! We will probably be due around the same time, when did you find out?

andre07 |

re: Q: First Appointment Timing?

I've also taken several tests since the first positive one! My OB schedules the first appt. at 8-10 wks. unless you have a history of miscarriages or complicated pregnancies. I am dying...I go on Tuesday, thank God!

re: Q: First appointment timing?

I am only 2 weeks (I found out I was pregnant from a blood test that I was required to take before I had an MRI) and my dr scheduled me to come in the next day. I don't understand why some doctors want to wait 8 weeks. My dr started me on pre natal vitamins and gave me a blood test to make sure all of my hormone levels were normal. I do not think I could have waited 8 weeks! I am sure that if you asked to come in early, they would accomodate.

re: Q: First appointment timing?

I live in CA and have Kaiser as my health care provider -- i was assumign that since they are an HMO and tryo to keep costs down, they wouldnt see me until 11 weeks or something! But I was pleasantly surprised when my OB/GYN recommended that I come in around 6 1/2 to 7 weeks ... but the best date for me turned out to be a couple days shy of 8 weeks. She actually said that they would do an u/s to look for the baby's heartbeat -- is the baby developed enough at that stage to hear??

nancypheng |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

I am so glad that I checked this right before I called. I took 3 HPT's yesturday and called this morning. They scheduled me for 4 weeks from now which will put me between 6-7 weeks.

re: Q: First appointment timing?

Tell me about the agony of waiting. I'm more of a high risk as I had an ectopic pregnancy in March. The OB said to make an appointment with her as soon as I found out that I was pregnant. I called last Tuesday and didn't get one until Friday. I guess that only makes me 5 weeks, but it's so hard not knowing. Can't be excited until we know that everything is OK.

I called my PCP and got in same day appt. since I also seem to be fighting an upper respiratory infection and then I see the OB the 29th of Sept. which will be the 6th 7th week which I guess is ok

ciiru |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

Larger cities with competition among many OB practices are more likely to schedule you sooner than smaller cities. They want to get you in the door and not "doctor shop" for an earlier appointment. Also, it's not uncommon for a woman to take a test shortly after a missed period, find it positive, only to have her "period" the following week.

princess4341 |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

I had a miscarriage last month and then went to my regular doctor and found out I was pregnant again this month. I went in today to the OB at 9 1/2weeks and they said someone called and canceled my apointment. How does that happen? Anyway now I have to wait till 10 weeks to see my OB.

re: Q: First appointment timing?

I had an ectopic pregnancy 2 years ago and they told me that it's kind of pointless to do an appt before 6-8 weeks because it won't really show up on the ultrasound before then. The reason they want higher risk people to come in sooner is because they can do blood and urine tests to make sure everything is ok and talk to them about possible signs/symptoms of trouble. They did an ultrasound at 7 weeks and didn't find anything (cuz it was ectopic) but she said that it could have just been 4-5 weeks and that's why they didn't see anything.

uvalori85 |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

My first appointment is on Feb 2nd and I'll be 8weeks. Can't wait

Nurse White |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

Mine has me come in for a "consultation" and then they do a u/s around 8 weeks. Not to be negative or anything, but in reality, if there's a problem that early in the pregnancy, miscarriage is almost unstoppable. If it's going to happen, it will, regardless of whether or not the OB has you come in. I had a miscarriage 3 days after I had an ultrasound (fetus was too small to see heartbeat)

Skle1978 |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

I can't wait to go to my Dr. appt which is scheduled in my 8th week as well. I totally thought they'd have me come in next week to do their own test. The nurse said they could do a blood test if I wanted to come in earlier. I've woken up the past few days feeling a little nauseous and especially after taking my pre-natal vitamin. I'm just hoping that I don't have a lot of sickness becuase I know that will just drain me.

angg83 |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

How much of a miscarriage history warrants an earlier appointment? My husband and I were absolutely crushed 2 years ago when we found out we were pregnant, only for me to miscarry a week before my first doctor's appointment. I am paranoid that that will happen again. I want more than just my HPT ... I will feel soo much better when I can go to the doctor and see the little walnut on the ultrasound screen ...

I am so happy that this site is here. This is my first posting. I just found out that I am four weeks in and the doctor won't give me an appointment. I couldn't believe it! I scheduled one for six weeks so now I just have to wait.Question though - Mother's Day is Sunday. We thought it would be the perfect time to tell our parents. This is our first pregnancy and if something happens to go wrong, I think I'd want for them to know. What do you guys think? Too soon or the perfect holiday to share our news?

funsunnotsomuch |

re: Q: First appointment timing?

To funsunnotsomuch - This is my first post too, i think i'm 5 weeks along. My first appointment is scheduled for 8 weeks. I am telling my parents before my first appointment, because i know they will be excited (especially because we recently had a loss in our family and we need some good news). Plus, if something goes wrong, i know they will be there to support me. We're waiting until 12 weeks to tell the extended family and our friends, and i trust my parents to keep the lid on it. You can just do what's right for you! I hope this helps.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I was just about to begin fertility treatment (we had been trying for 3 years to conceive) and just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant! I called my ob-gyn & they said to wait to come in at 8weeks. However, the fertility clinic has no such 'rule' and I have been to 2 appointments there already to have blood tests, related to this pregnancy! If I didn't have that, the suspense of waiting 3 more weeks would be unbearable!! :-)

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I moved to a new state and had to find a new doctor. This is my first pregnancy and I am a new patient and they scheduled me at 10 weeks. I guess I thought the first trimester was super important for the babies development, plus being a first timer, it's scary! Thank god for good books and the internet! It is definitely hard to wait to see your doctor.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I work at an ObGyn and we don't schedule our new OB patients until between 8-10 weeks, considering you can't see anything until after 6 weeks anyway. plus at 11 weeks the NT ultrasounds get started.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

It's common to not get seen right away- I was 8 weeks pregnant but didn't get seen until 12 weeks. However, if you are a high risk pregnancy or have had early miscarriages, you should be seen earlier. You can always ask to speak to your doctor's nurse if you have any concerns, they can schedule an earlier appointment.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I called my OB-GYN a few days after I got a positive pregnancy test. I told them that I needed to schedule a pre-natal visit, and they scheduled me for over a month later (I'll be 11 weeks at that point). Of course I'm nervous and anxious for that visit, just like everyone else! They said that it was policy to wait to do a first prenatal until 8-11 weeks. Not sure why that's their policy, I didn't ask. The book What to Expect When You're Expecting has a great section on what to expect at all of your prenatal visits....all expectant moms should pick up a copy of that book! BabyMilkChocolate: If I were you, I'd see the Ob-Gyn that you've got for your first visit, but while you're waiting, schedule with another. If you are hesitant about the care you'll receive, there's no reason not to change docs (in my opinion!)

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I found out last week at we're expecting. This is especially exciting as I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost one of my fallopian tubes. We got the ok to start trying again and are now pregnant. Due to the previous issues, my doctor is having me do a round of blood tests this week, 48 hours apart to ensure my numbers are correct and I scheduled an appointment around 8 weeks. However, this appointment may be moved up depending on the numbers. Exciting but nervous!!

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I am 7 weeks and I called today and they told me to wait 5 more weeks before they will see me. I thought it was just a Seattle thing but I guess thats what most doctors do now..

Dezilou |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I thought that they would take me right away just to confirm the pregnancy, I am at 7 weeks now(well a couple days shy). My appointment is not until July 8th so i will be about 9 weeks along. I am very frustrated at this. The main reason the person who sched my apt did not even ask me any questions besides when was the first day of my last period and that was it. So I amhoping from here on out it will be a lot better.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I found out i was pregnant at 5 weeks and the doctor didn't get me a appointment until I was 17 weeks, is that ok?

ashawn2010 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

That almost happened to me. She told me that I didn't have to come in until Oct 3. I said, "But I'm already 5 weeks". She realized the chart she was using to calculate my first appointment was wrong. I was able to get one for week 9. I would call them back and try to reschedule.

BFlovesJC |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I wouldn't wait until 17 weeks! You are missing valuable prenatal care! There are also tests that the doctors run that take place before you are almost half way through your pregnancy. I'm trying to remember but I believe there are blood tests, a pap and a glucose test. I would call again.

turtle010109 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

17 weeks is definitely ridiculous. I think 8 weeks is ridiculous in itself! That's how long their standard wait is and I had a u/s early just to confirm dates, etc. I just can't understand why the dr. doesn't want to see you right away and make sure you are taking the proper pre-natals, getting all the nutrients, avoiding the right things, etc. - isn't the first trimester where you do all the development that forms all of the important organs, etc.? I even went to a pre-pregnancy appointment and I have to tell you - there are so many more questions once you are actually going through it. I found this VERY frustrating.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

Glad to know I am not the only one that is waiting in agony for that 1st appointment. My 1st is at 9-1/2 wks only 1 week left to wait!!

my appt will be a few days before my 1st trimester ends....I'm a little puzzled about that.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

This is my first time posting and I am really glad to have read these post. I found out I was prego at 4 weeks and I was really excited for my first appt. The doctors office didn't schedule it until 4 weeks later, my 8th week. Its finally tomorrow but I was a llooonngg wait. We told our parents and siblings only. They have been anxiouse for this appoint also.

I also just scheduled my first appointment and they don't have you come in until you are 9 weeks. I really wish it were sooner.

parkgirl32 |

I also schedule my appointment when I found out at four weeks. They didn't schedule me until my 8th week. UGH! I'm so ready for this appointment. 3 more weeks to go.

scarlett29 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I found out tues we are expecting (today is friday and the day AF was supposed to show). I go in wed (at 4wks) for a blood test. In the military they consider you pregnant only if your hcg levels are above 100. I had a miscarriage last month and am on bed rest for spotting right now so I hope I make it.

Mia11 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

It seems like they don't care to see you until you're 8 or 9 weeks unless you b*tch about it. This is my 1st pregnancy & I told them i had a lot of questions and managed to get in at 7 weeks :) but other than that it would have been 8 weeks. I haven't even seen my dr yet. I'm 12 wks and won't see her until I'm almost 14 weeks

MrsAltman |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I found out that I was pregnant at 4 weeks and because I thought I was having a m/c the hospital made me see my ob the next day. I got to have an u/s of my baby at 4 weeks and 3 days and I was excited when they gave me the picture. But my next appt isn't until my 8th week.

Tifanyg31 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

its ok, im now 10 weeks today and i am jsut having my first appt tomorrow, when i called they said they usually try to get you in close to just before 12 weeks, so i think weeks 9-10 are great!

Aggiesue40 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I found out I was pregnant about one week ago and called my doctor right away. Her nurse said that they make the appointments between 10-12 weeks.... it's torture waiting that long (I don't go in until 10/25). At times I feel as though I'm not pregnant because I haven't seen the doctor. It seems that if it's the most delecate time for your baby's development they would see you earlier. I'm just happy to hear it seems like standard practice.

sclaus82 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I found out I am 4 week and 3 days last Friday and they made appointment for me in my 8th week. I let them Know that I miscarried first time around and that I had live birth the second time around. See the thing is that my doctor is going on Vacation next week.

bealed02 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

yes, my first appointment was at 12 weeks. It was great though to have the 1st ultrasound then because you see so much more of the baby!

klfaulhaber |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

Happy to hear others having appointments even later than me. I'll be at least six weeks when I go in for the first "background info." meeting with Kaiser and eight weeks before my first personal appointment. Of course, all the resources are telling me what to eat (and not), how much to exercise, etc.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

This is my first time being pregnant (and my first time saying that). We've only been married 5 month. We're so overwhelmed right now. I'm only 2-3 days late right now and in the last 6 days have had 3 positive home tests. I'm feeling pretty much rotten and exhausted. I called and scheduled my first OB appointment today and they scheduled it at 8 weeks. 4 weeks to go, I guess. It's going to be AGONY. Maybe sometime in the next 4 weeks we'll actually let our parents in.......LOL

bechrist7 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

My first pregnancy with my son who is now 5 years old, I didn't know I was pregnant until 6 hours before he was born, I went into preeclampsia, so the OB GYN is being really cautious with me. I had an appt with an OB GYN when I was barely 5 weeks and 5 days. I will be meeting with a perinatal (an OB GYN for diabetics) when I am barely 7 weeks, they said I will be getting an ultrasound then. I am praying that everything goes well for me during this pregnancy, because my husband and I are done after this one. Good luck to all. If you pray please be praying for me :) Thanks

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I'm about 7 weeks and my appt is in a week but when I told the lady whom I'm guessing is a nurse that I was told to keep an eye out for an ectopic pregnancy as i was told a couple years ago that it was very possible for me to get one. Well needless to say she didn't seem at all too worried or anything to bother setting up an ultrasound so here's hoping for the best. It's going to be hard being pregnant in Korea for the next 3 months.

OMG! I was so disappointed they scheduled me at 8 weeks. I'm 5 weeks now ( I think?) and it just feels fake until the doctor says, "Yes, it's true." Luckily we have the internet but at this point I'm not sure I'm allowed to eat or drink anything without some risk! Online info overload!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Do you know if my husband should attend the 8 weeks check up? I'm going to have to call and see if they will do an ultrasound. I know he'll want to hear a heart beat if they do that!

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

Hello, ladies- my general practitioner provided a positive test result at week 5. my first OB appt isn't until 11 weeks which is fine. These boards are pretty scary. If you have past history, you already know what to go through. if this is your first pregnancy, trust your body and your DOCTOR.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I just had my 1st OB appointment. I'm 6 weeks today and have the sonogram booked in 3 days… I'm looking forward to seeing it :) Apparently 1st Appointments are done anywhere from 6 -10 weeks…. if you're later, it's not so bad, you'll get to see a more developed baby- that's fun!! But I understand your desire to check on things asap… don't worry time will go by fast.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I am pregnant for the first time and the OB set up the first appointment and sono for week 7. I am an ER nurse and frequently tell people that the OB may not see them until week 10. So I think that anything up to week 10 is probably normal.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I am happy I read these post and see that! I was looking to switch doctors and one doctor's office I called said they scheduled 1st appointments between the 8th-10th weeks. I thought that was crazy with my 1st pregnacy I was seen right away that was 21/2 yrs ago. Maybe that was because I had been seeing that Dr. for a few years. The Dr I decided to see scheduled the 1st appointment between the 7th-8th wk. So my appt is next Fri it is hard waiting that long, I would go crazy if I had to wait longer then that.

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I am so glad i am not the only one like a lot of you have said. My OB didn't schedule me for my 1st appointment till like a month later, which is now less than a week. I am a low risk pregnancy but its frustrating cause like everyone has stated i really wanna know whats going on.

AshleyJHarris |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I scheduled my first OB Appointment when I finally got a positive. They told me I was a week and a bit less than I thought. If you're a low risk pregnancy they wont do one until 8-9 weeks normally. I found out I pregnant at about 5 weeks....it was a TOTAL surprise, and the best thing ever!!!! I did 4 pregnancy tests and they were positive but still wasnt sure I was preg as I felt I needed to get a doc to confirm it for me. So I called the docs office expecting to be seen that evening and when the nurse called back she was like "4 positive pregnancy tests and you want the doc to confirm.....hmm thats your confirmation right there....congratulations"!!!! I had to wait til 8 weeks....it was a bit anti climatic but did enjoy meeing our new doc when the time came and still look forward to the monthly visits. So you will have to sit tight and wait....but hopefully the time will fly by for you :))

I'm 10 weeks today and haven't been yet!! I've been waiting on my insurance and now its up and running. My 1st apt isn't until Dec 6th and it may end up being later than that because I'm a college student and I just found out I have a final at the same time as my apt. There aren't any other apt times open for the 6th and the next is the 12th which is another final day. I emailed my instructor to see about taking my test earlier than the planned time, but I'm not holding my breath on it. I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks. When I called to set my appointment up, the secretary scheduled me for the 10th week, which is this week for me. It just feels like I've waited forever! My only concern was if something was wrong with my hormones it might have an effect on the baby long term.

danak1892 |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

I took my home tests on a Thursday, and once they came back positive I scheduled an appointment with my regular doctor for a conformation blood test the next day. My best friend works at a cancer center and she got excited and had me come in to do an ultrasound. All we saw was my sac, but it was a nice conformation. Once my blood test came back positive my doctor refered me put to an ob/gyn. They couldn't get me in for a month!! This is my first pregnancy ever, and I have to admit that even with all the advice from my family and friends, I'm still freaked out by what's happening to my body. Waiting to see my ob/gyn is killing me! I did have a couple concerns, so I just made appointments with my GP, who schedueld another ultrasound just to be safe. I was able to see and get a pic of my baby, and also hear the heartbeat, so that helped ease my mind. I definitaly think that, especially for women experiencing pregnancy for the first time, that the ob/gyn should get you in sooner. If for nothing else that to wase the stress of not knowing.

KowalaBear |

Q&A: Timing of first OB appointment?

Ladies - I'm SO thrilled to read all these posts! This is my first post here; hubbin & I found out just two days ago (one faint test one morning [it's before I missed my period but I had implant bleeding and a ton of symptoms], then a strong positive with a better brand of test the next day) and we have been trying, so I've already seen my doc for a preconception checkup. We're military, and when I called to have the doctor confirm, I was just told I would be in a GROUP appointment where I would only see a nurse and go over basic information, and that isn't for another three weeks! AGHH!! We've only told our parents, and we really want to hear/see the heartbeat since this is our first baby. I know I'm switching to a midwifery center though, so I might just get out of Tricare Prime early so the midwives can take care of me.

My husband wants to tell everyone now (we are both so excited!) especially because this is our first baby. But I need a DR to confirm it so this feels real to me. I think we will wait until atleast the 7 week appointment to tell our families. I want to wait until the 8th week so we can hear the babys heartbeat and feel more at ease, but I dont think we will be able to hold it in that long! We are so happy but the not knowing is driving me crazy.

I had my first appointment at 17wks. ;) I called when I was 14wks to schedule. I am a young, active healthy woman. My husband and I are Traditional Catholic and have had no sexual relations outside of our marriage and do not practice birth control nor use contraceptives. I had no physical signs that would cause alarm and simply researched the things that I questioned...plus advice from mom is super nice! :) I come from 8 kids and my husband is one of 10. Women's bodies were designed by God for childbearing! :) Relax, don't over think or worry, and simply pay attention to your body.

That is insane I just wanted to post this question! I just called to schedule my first appointment after a positive test and was told they weren't going to schedule my first appointment until 8 weeks. And that I wasn't to go in for a blood test. Now I had my first child 6 years ago so I know things change but my best friend just gave birth in October and she had a blood test and an appointment right away. I was so confused and just really wanted to get the ball rolling as we weren't going to tell any family until the first appointment!

I called today to set up my first appointment and they're not getting me in until 9 weeks. =( I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks a few years ago, so I wonder if I had divulged that info, they may have gotten me in earlier. It's so hard to wait...especially because miscarriage is constantly on my mind...
