You may credit your OB with numerous super-powers, but X-ray vision and super-sonic hearing probably aren’t among them. Fact is, in the early going it’s difficult to hear even one heartbeat until around week 12.So it’s not until he starts waving the ultrasound wand that he’s able to get visual confirmation that there’s more than one little heart thumping away.Plus more from The Bump: Could the twin ultrasound be wrong? Pregnancy checkups with multiples? Miscarriage risk with twins? Excerpted from The Baby Bump, Twins and Triplets Edition Twin Pregnancy with One Heartbeat? I am 13 weeks with twins and I've been to see the doctor twice where he could pick up a heartbeat with the doppler. I've been told by 2 different physicians that it is unlikely to hear 2 heartbeats with the doppler in the office especially this early because they are so close together. So don't worry :) soon2bmrsdaniel | Want to participate? Log in to share your thoughts
