Biophysical Profile for Multiples?

What is a biophysical profile, and how is it different for a woman carrying multiples? How often will this be administered?

Re: What is a biophysical profile, and how is it different for a woman carrying multiples? How often will this be administered?

The Bump Expert

A biophysical profile is often administered to moms of multiples in the third trimester. The test combines an NST with an ultrasound examination that assesses the babies’ body movements, muscle tone, breathing movements, and levels of amniotic fluid. Each baby will be tested individually and given points; a score between 8 and 10 is normal. If all looks good, your OB will likely repeat the test once or twice a week until delivery. If not, she may schedule you for more tests or suggest delivering the babies right away via induction or c-section.
