Switch to a brush
Forget using your fingers. Choosing a brush makes it easy to get product exactly where you need it (on, not around, a blemish).
Add a bronzer
Pregnancy weight going to your face? For those extra-puffy days, celeb makeup artist Jo Strettell suggests using a lightweight, delicate bronzer to flawlessly contour your face. It’s great for highlighting bone structure and thinning out the neck.
Try tinted moisturizer
Instead of heavy foundations that go gooey as your body heats up (think: hot flashes), Strettell loves Stila’s moisturizer with a hint of tint. It’s highly pigmented for great coverage but still feels ultra-light on your skin.
Get a great concealer
Pregnant skin often equals problem skin, particularly in the first trimester. “All sorts of crazy conditions pop up,” says Strettell. “Acne, brown spots, even rashes!” So having the right concealer on hand is a must. Another pro tip? Less is more.
Go double duty
“I’m all about the cream lip-and-cheek combos that save time and do more than one job,” says Strettell. One made with crushed mineral pigments, is good for both your skin and the environment. And surely we’ll never tell anyone that your healthy glow had a little bit of help!
Invest in an eyelash curler
Never underestimate the power of this handy tool. “There’s no better way to open the eye and create that coveted bright-eyed look,” says Strettell. And it takes just a second to use.
Buy the best mascara
Not really feeling so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? “Mascara is a fast fix,” says Strettell. “Rimmel makes some great ones, and this is my favorite. It feels light and natural on lashes, but the overall impact is really quite dramatic.”
