What to do in a car accident while pregnant?

What should I do if I'm in a car accident while I'm pregnant?

The Bump Expert

Getting into a car accident is right up there on the list of the biggest fears expectant moms have (along with delivery in the car on the way to the hospital and having your water break in the middle of a big work presentation). Two big factors are: How bad was the crash, and how far along are you? A simple fender bender, where you don’t have any symptoms -- especially in your first trimester -- can probably be handled with a follow-up call to your doc. She’ll help determine if you need to come in and if the baby needs to be monitored for a period of time following the accident.

But if the accident was more serious -- air bags deploy, you’re experiencing any vaginal bleeding, you end up getting treated for another issue, like a broken bone -- you should immediately go to the ER and get your OB involved right away. That’s especially true if you hit your abdomen against anything. There’s a chance the crash could cause placental abruption, meaning the placenta pulls away from the uterus, which would affect your baby’s blood supply, as well as some other potential internal trauma. And don’t ignore symptoms even if you don’t notice them for a day or two: You can still experience the initial effects of a motor vehicle accident up to seven days after it happens.

What to do in a car accident while pregnant?

One of my friends who works for Fox Car Rental had such a problem. She was involved in a car accident, but it was all ok. That was a fortunate event and after that, she drives as little as possible.

Usually women that are involved in car accidents are afraid to sit in the driver’s seat for a couple of months after the accident. You can donate your car if you know you will not use it for some time, my niece had a car accident last months and she is afraid to drive the car anymore.

You could talk to some people from used car Palm Beach. I'm sure that they do have the experience and have probably heard such stories. Hope you find my advice useful. Be safe!!

There's not that much you can do if you're pregnant and you get into a car accident, as long as you're there it's already too late, and you'd better leave it to the doctors. I read an article on partsgeek.com about the top fears people have about driving, and getting into an accident is in the top 3. I think your best option is to stay safe by avoiding any situation that would make you vulnerable to an accident. This isn't always possible, so when you absolutely must take a car, avoid driving, take a cab instead and avoid the front seat by all means.

I think it doesn't matter if you are pregnant or not, if you get into a accident you need to ask somebody to call 911 if you can't so the police and ambulance can come quick. When I went to get a smog check and I could not help not to hear what 2 people were talking.I was terrified because they were talking about a horrific accident.

I don't want to think about car accidents and especially with pregnant women.I was talking to a friend of mine over car dealer Wayne about accidents and he is terrified about those young drivers who think that speeding is something cool.

What to do in a car accident while pregnant?

My aunt was involved in a car accident while being pregnant, it was a shock for everyone to hear that she hit a man on the street, she was innocent but after that she searched for travel trailer parts, repaired it and sold. Since then she never used a car, it was a big shock for her and she is afraid to drive cars.

In my opinion, it is always best to get a proper check up if involved in an accident no matter how trivial it may seem. A life is at stake here and it is better to err on the side of caution as insurance.
