Nail polish has been in the news lately because of controversy over dibutyl phthalate (DBP), a
chemical found in most brands. Some experts think exposure could be harmful to your
fetus, but there’s no clear evidence that the occasional man/pedi is unsafe. Play it safe by picking a polish that doesn’t include DBP, formaldehyde or toluene on the ingredient list. Try colors from Sally Hansen -- last year, the company announced plans to remove all three chemicals from their products.
