Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

We've been trying to get pregnant, so I started cutting back on my Zoloft dose and was doing very well. However, I've starting having relapses, but now that I'm not 100% sure I'm not pregnant, I won't take the Zoloft. Are there any anti-depressants that wouldn't harm a baby?

The Bump Expert

This is a tough decision that many women have to make during pregnancy or while planning a pregnancy. The best advice I can give you is to talk to your health care provider immediately regarding your situation. The risks and benefits of taking any antidepressant medications need to be weighed carefully for each individual. You should mention that you have been experiencing relapses of your symptoms, so not taking your medication may not be the best option for you even though you may be pregnant. In fact in some situations you may be putting your health in danger.

Often as women our first instinct is to do anything to protect our babies, even suffer through miserable symptoms in order to protect our babies from the possible side effects of medications. However, it is important to consider that your baby needs a mommy that is healthy physically and emotionally. Again, I urge you to contact your healthcare provider today for their advice regarding this and all medications you may be taking.

re: Q: Can I Take Antidepressants?

This is a good response to tihs question, but I also think it would be good to mention to current research that shows that several types of antidepressants are safe for use during pregnancy. It is also important to mention the information that exists regarding the increased risk for Post-Partum Depression in women with a history of depressive episodes and anxiety disorders. Some research suggests that women who remain on anti-depressants throughout pregnancy, or who begin anti-depressants in the third triemester, can reduce their risk of PPD or reduce the severity of PPD symptoms. Thanks for addressing this important isssue!

re: Q: Can I Take Antidepressants?

I have been taking antidepressants for many years and have severe depression. I went off anti-depressants 2 years ago to see if I would be okay without them, but I was not. My psychiatrist has advised my OB that I should continue to take them throughout my pregnancy as there is greater risk to the fetus if I don't take them (because I don't eat well, sleep well, or take very good care of myself when I'm depressed). My psychiatrist has recommended the site www.womensmentalhealth.org as a good resource and I found their information very helpful.

re: Q: Can I take antidepressants?

I'm almost 27 weeks pregnant and I am currently taking zoloft aswell. Mr doctor and pharmacist looked thoroughly at the risks (which were minimal in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters), and decided that there was no reason as to why I shouldnt take them. I find that I take better care of myself and the baby when Im not worrying about everything 24/7.

re: Q: Can I take antidepressants?

I've been on Lexapro for a year now and I'm now 4 weeks pregnant. Depression runs in my family on my dad's side and I also have it. About 6 months ago I told my Dr. I was planning n TTC. Me made a face and thought I should try to go off as soon as I found out I was pregnant. He also mentioned that I shouldn't be on the medication during my 3rd trimester. I don't know what to do, if I go off the medication, the depression and panic attacks comes right back in full force. This medication is also hard to get off of, the withdrawl symptoms are horrible. I tried to quit but got physically ill.

re: Q: Can I take antidepressants?

My husband and I are thinking of starting a family, so I talked to my OBGYN at my last appt. a couple weeks ago and she said it was fine to continue taking Lezapro throughout a pregnancy. I am also on Blood Pressure meds (Toprol XL) and again, she looked it up and said it would probably be just fine for that one too.

re: Q: Can I take antidepressants?

It's important to know which anti-depressants you can take though. I am taking Prozac now (because we're going to ttc soon) but know that Zoloft and Prozac are the most studied in terms of pregnancy. I was on Pristiq, which I liked, but it's too new know the risks in regards to pregnancy. With me, it's panic/anxiety disorder that I deal with but anti-depressants are what they use to treat them. My doctor and I believe it's a bigger risk for me to have untreated anxiety than to take the meds while pregnant.

re: Q: Can I take antidepressants?

Thank you! I feel a little bit better knowing that other people are continuing their Lexapro while TTC and/or are pregnant. I have a panic/anxiety disorder and know I will not be able to handle the attacks that would be prompted during pregnancy if I were untreated.

re: Q: Can I take antidepressants?

I think it is definately something you need to discuss with your doctor and know yourself. I was diagnosed as bipolar about 4 months before becoming pregnant. We were not trying for a baby so getting on a different medication ahead of time was not an option. After discussing it with my doctor I decided that the risk of trying to find a new medication (my old one was NOT an option) was more than trying to regulate my own swings, I figured that my moods would be up and down anyway with the pregnancy hormones. However I do not have bad down swings and mostly only suffer from manic phases when I am unable to sleep (who can anyway :) ). So we are just dealing with symptoms as they arise and she prescribed a sleep aid so that I could get some rest.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I was taking Lamictal when I first started trying to get pregnant. My OB suggested I stop taking it and switch to Lexapro since there are known birth defects associated with it. Since I've become pregnant, I've stopped taking all meds. My depression wasn't severe and so far I haven't noticed a difference in my mood that can't be explained by pregnancy hormones. I do worry about PPD especially since I plan to breastfeed. But, just because I chose to stop taking it, doesn't mean that everyone should. Listen to your doctor - lots of time the risk to baby is outweighed by the risk to your health.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I was diagnosed bipolar six years ago and also have panic anxiety disorder. Under one doctor's advice I went off all meds when trying to conceive with my husband. I am pregnant with my first child and have just begun medication again - I started up after Week 8 because I was nearing a crisis again and not sleeping at all. After our baby's heart was developed, my new psych. and I agreed that like many of the moms on here - it is better to do everything I can to best take care of myself so I can take best care of baby. I have also sought out a postpartum group at the local hospital that welcomes moms-to-be too, since my risk of PDD is so high. My biggest hurdle has been getting over the guilt of relying on meds. But a good doctor once asked me, If I had a heart condition, I would never hesitate to treat it, right? Best wishes to all of you out there!

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I am on Wellbutrin SR (200mg, 2x/day) I continued taking my prescribed dosage through my entire 1st pregnancy and have a beautiful and healthy 2 1/2 year old daughter. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with my second and will continue to take my meds as directed by my doctor. My OB told me that the risks associated with not taking my antidepressents far outweigh any risks of taking them. In order to have a healthy pregnancy you have to be able to take good care of yourself, and for me, I am unable to do that without my meds. The Wellbutrin also helped prevent any major post-partum depression, which my dostor was concerned about due to family history. For those suffering from depression, being healthy means taking your meds. Happy, healthy mama = happy, healthy baby

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

i am facing this dilemma right now as I am five weeks pregnant and have suffered from panic disorder for about 3 years now. i take celexa (a form of lexapro) and i have read several studies saything that it does not affect the baby until the third trimester. i still need to speak with my OBGYN but I think i am going to wean off of it in the second trimester (felt it was beneficial for the first trimester with all the mood swings from the hormones). it will be a slow process since i need to get off of it really slow because of withdrawal symptoms. I am going to try to go without it for the third trimester but if i can't, im thinking of switching to zoloft or prozac since there has been a lot of studies about them and they seem to be the safest during pregnancy.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

You should really ask your doctor or chosen pediatrician because antidepressants can have a huge effect on your baby's respiratory status immediately following delivery. In my profession I have seen baby's needing to be admitted to the NICU for oxygen needs because their mother was on antidepressants. That being said if you are thoroughly depressed without them you might need to risk it and take the meds. But some people make it sound like it's not a big deal and it is.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I am on 25mg of Zoloft as well. I started Zoloft in Nov. 09 and got pregnant that month as well. I still feel that I need it and my OBGYN said to continue taking it as long as my counselor says it is ok. Which they both agree that I need to continue it until they feel I am ready to be taken off. I have a lot going on in my life and they feel I need it to help me and my baby. Hope this helps! I would check with your OBGYN as well.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

My doctor approved my 25mg daily dose of prozac. She said although there's recent discussion about the possibility that it might affect some brain development, there's no study that's reliable enough to support this yet. She also said that it is approved safe for pregnant women to take. You should check with both your ob and psychiatrist to find out what the suggest for you and discuss all your options.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I've been on Zoloft for years. My OB says the stress of being depressed without the meds is far greater than the risk of something going wrong the baby. I've passed my 1st trimester and my 1st trimester screenings and baby is growing fine.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I was taking Cymbalta and Trazodone for my depression when I decided I would TTC. My psychiatrist asked me if I planned to breastfeed and I told him being mentally stable for my child was more important than being able to breastfeed. He put me on Prozac. I've had some stressful things going on in my life lately. Between taking the Prozac and seeing my therapist, I've been able to manage my depression pretty well. I'm due in November and will have my first ultrasound tomorrow!

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I am 10wks and 5days pregnant. I have suffered from Severe Anxiety and Depression for many years. I was seeing a psychiatrist and taking Celexa. I stopped taking it when I ran out and was to depressed to go back to my psychiatrist so I had been off of my meds for quite some time. When I went in for my first ob appointment when I was 8wks pregnant I had a nervous breakdown in the office. My OB insisted that i get back on my Medicine ASAP. She said it was extremely important for my health and the baby's health for me to be on my Celexa. She wrote me a script right there on the spot! I have never felt so good and "normal." I think that if you need your medicine you need it. However I do think it is very important to make sure that the medicine that you are on is approved for pregnancy. The best way to find out is to ask. Good luck and best wishes to all you strong mommies to be!!!!!!!!!!!

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I am 14 weeks and have been taking 100 mg of Zoloft throughout my pregnancy. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety a few years ago and started taking Zoloft and it made a HUGE difference for me. When we were TTC my doctor referred me to a specialist who did a consultation and determined that the chances were high that I would experience major depression and anxiety during pregnancy if I stopped taking Zoloft, and she feels that the effects of untreated depression on a developing fetus is actually a greater risk than if I continue to treat my depression with Zoloft throughout the pregnancy. It was a hard decision, because I always thought it was a no-no to take this kind of medication while pregnant, but the specialist explained that extensive studies have been done and that certain antidepressants (zoloft is one of them) are considered quite safe. There is a risk, but the risk is actually lower than the risks of being depressed while pregnant, which chemically alters your body, too. So far my baby is devoloping normally and I have had a very healthy pregnancy. I would definitely recommend meeting with a specialist if you can to determine what the risks would be with your personal history and diagnosis.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I have Major Depression & Anxiety Disorder. I was diagnosed after my second baby. I am not prego with my 4th. You should always discuss this with your Dr., but here is what I know. I kicked a hole in the wall with each of my first two babies WITHOUT medication. I went on Lexapro after my 2nd was born. I carried my 3rd baby without complications while on the Lexapro. Soon after, my condition worsened and after I was done breastfeeding I went on Zoloft. I had two girlfriends who were on Zoloft while pregnant, and both of them delivered preemies, and both babies had complications at birth requiring them to stay in the hospital for a month or so. I went off of the Zoloft like many of you, to clean out my system prior to getting prego this time. It was very bad, but after consulting with my Dr. I went BACK on the Lexapro after 12 weeks, and have been on it for 1 week now and am doing SO much better. Everyone is different, but Zoloft is powerful stuff, if you can use a less agressive medication without going over the edge I would recommend it, however, only you know how your body will or will not react. The Lexapro is also safe while breastfeeding. It was a very personal choice for me, but I realized that I need to be on it to maintain my sanity. It might just be coincidence that my girlfriends were on Zoloft when this happend, but they both had previous births OFF the Zoloft that went just fine. Remember, you have to have your wits about you to do right by yourself and your baby...so no, I do not recommend going off completely. xoxox

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I had been on Celexa for a few months when I found out I was pregnant. Surprise!! My OB suggested taking me off of Celexa and putting me on Prozac. Since Celexa is newer and there is more evidence of possible effects on the baby, she didn't want to risk it. Prozac has been studied alot more and is considered safe for those of us who are preggers.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I was told zoloft (which is what i currently take) was ok if you're pregnant and it is frequently prescribed for pregnant women. i thought about stopping it anyway but i'm scared. before i started the zoloft i couldn't leave my house. not even to go to the grocery store. on a really bad day i couldn't even walk around my yard b/c i wasn't in my house. on a really bad day i couldn't get out of bed. and to top it off---I THOUGHT I WAS NORMAL!! No joke. for people that have a serious mental illness sometimes it's a risk you have to take.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I recently had a relapse in symptoms of depression after going off meds once I discovered I was pregnant. By about 9 weeks of pregnancy I was having major symptoms and called my psychiatrist and said it was okay to be on Wellbutrin or Zoloft during pregnancy and most OB's are fine with this. I went on Wellbutrin because I've taken it for many years and know it works for me and my OB said the benefits outweigh the risks to the baby as I wasn't eating well and I had lost about 5 pounds. Since being on it I have stabilized quite well and have started gaining weight and my psychiatrist said that any major side effects on the fetus would have occurred within the first 8 weeks if they were to happen (which is a very small percentage) and since I was off them for the first 9 weeks of my pregnancy we are hopeful that no harm was done. Overall though, if you can't function and baby isn't getting the food/rest it needs there's just as much if not more harm done that antidepressants themselves. Good luck to all on meds or dealing with depression and don't hesitate talking to your OB if you feel your mood is out of control.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

My Dr. and I just discussed this today. I currently take Zoloft for anxiety (I am 8 weeks along). My Dr. says that all anti-depressants are labelled as "Class C" medications for pregnant women, meaning it is benefit vs. risk. There is no proof saying it will harm your child, no proof saying it won't. It is a personal choice that the mother must make based on her level of need for the drug.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I take Lexapro and I need the medication. My doc and I have had me slowly cutting back, so for the first week I took one a day, the next day half, the next day full for a week, then I cut back to half every day. Now I'm sticking on half every other day which is keeping me stable enough. I'm currently in my second trimester, once I hit my third I will be trying to stay off of it completely. However, my ob said it will probably be very important for me to go back on it right after I give birth as I will have a good chance of having post partum.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

Hi, i understand and appreciate your concern. I want to help ease your mind just a bit. I am 14 weeks pregnant and suffer from bipolar disorder. When i found out i was pregnant my dr. switched me to Zoloft. He has many pregnant women that take zoloft and the risk to the fetus is very very low. Do some research to ease your mind. It is actually one of the safer antidepressants out there during pregnancy. My OBGYN was the one that recommended switching to the Zoloft in the first place. As the other poster said, it is natural to want to protect our babies from medications but we have to protect ourselves from our disease or we cant take care of our babies. Hope this helps put your mind at ease a bit. :)

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have 2 other children. I experienced antepartum depression during my second pregnancy and started taking zoloft. He was born healthy! I continued to take the zoloft for the next year, and when I found out I am pregnant again, I discontinued the zoloft for my first trimester. I am back on it now, since I was definitely having a relapse. I knew that given my circumstances during my last pregnancy (my husband is in the service and was deployed for the birth and first 7 months after) that I would be in big trouble if I let depression get the better of me. I would have continued to take the zoloft during my first trimester this time, except that I hoped I would be okay and I wanted to not take any risks during the period where the baby's organs are being formed. Once I relapsed, I just had to wait a few weeks for my second trimester and I was comfortable with starting them again.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I was on Cymbalta for 3 years. When I found out I was pregnant they weaned me off of it because there is not enough research on the effects. Going off of it was rough, but the withdrawl symptoms went away after 2 weeks. I am now on Prozac and Wellbutrin which I have been told are safe. I tried to go without anything, but due to my hormones, I cried all the time. For me, the benefits out weigh the risk.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

Some antidepressants have negative effects. Celexa in the third trimester can cause a rare form of pulmonary hypertension that has no cure and can require a lung transplant! (as per my high-risk doctor) so last time I had to get off the medicine. I have a history of a head injury and need the medicine to make up for what was damaged. The most important thing I did when I got off it last time was WEAN OFF SLOWLY! The backlash from stopping antidepressants quickly is horrible - go from full pill to 3/4 pill for a few weeks, then 1/2 pill for a few weeks and so on until you can do 1/4 pills every other day and finally stop altogether. Ultimately listen to your doctor and ask your pharmacist - the pharmacist is trained in medications and their effects both good and bad. Don't forget to use their training for advice!

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I had been on antidepressants for severe anxiety for a little over a year and found out I was pregnant after I was about 2 months gone! But my Dr. Wasn't concerned said the real risk for my medication was in my third trimester (by the way I take citalopram) but he said the likelyness that it would effect my baby at all was 30% likelyness, he said its always good to try and stay off of it unless my anxiety was so bad that I felt I needed it. They really didn't seem to concerned... I wouldn't worry to much. But I have been off it now for a little while and am doing fine :) but that's just me.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

Just a warning to everyone out there. Before trying to concieve, My OB/GYN doctor told me that if I needed the antidepressant (trazadone) then the risks out weigh the benefits, without even looking it up. I assumed that was because he already knew it was fine, but it wasnt. At 10 weeks, I had an ultrasound done because my family doctor told me it wasn't safe to take trazadone, and she wanted to check on things early. Turned out, I had miscarried at eight weeks and had no idea. So i googled trazadone and miscarriage, there was a small study group that said you were up to 68 percent more likely to have a miscarriage on trazadone, and it caused miscarriages and abnormalities in animals. WTF??? Seriously. I dont care how small that study was (1000 people), Someone should have told me!!! I lost a part of myself with this baby, and know I literally only have myself to blame. I will cry everyday 3 times a day, if it means I can have a healthy baby. Just some food for thought.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

This is directly from the Pfizer Zoloft website, and my ob/gyn never mentioned it: Exposure during late pregnancy to SSRIs may have an increased risk for persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). PPHN occurs in 1-2 per 1,000 live births in the general population and is associated with substantial neonatal morbidity and mortality. In a retrospective case-control study of 377 women whose infants were born with PPHN and 836 women whose infants were born healthy, the risk for developing PPHN was approximately six-fold higher for infants exposed to SSRIs after the 20th week of gestation compared to infants who had not been exposed to antidepressants during pregnancy. Neonates exposed to Zoloft and other SSRIs or SNRIs, late in the third trimester have developed complications requiring prolonged hospitalization, respiratory support, and tube feeding. These findings are based on post marketing reports. Such complications can arise immediately upon delivery. Reported clinical findings have included respiratory distress, cyanosis, apnea, seizures, temperature instability, feeding difficulty, vomiting, hypoglycemia, hypotonia, hypertonia, hyperreflexia, tremor, jitteriness, irritability, and constant crying. These features are consistent with either a direct toxic effect of SSRIs and SNRIs or, possibly, a drug discontinuation syndrome. It should be noted that, in some cases, the clinical picture is consistent with serotonin syndrome (see WARNINGS). I think it's critically important for you to make sure you know everything about your medication. My ob/gyn assured me the FDA approved Zoloft as a class-C medication during pregnancy, but clearly, she had missed this research, so I went off it and am doing fine. (By the way, the FDA also approved Thalidomide, so I tend to take everything they say with a grain of salt.)

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

Just to make this brief: My doctors have talked to me about this issue and mentioned that depression itself can cause low birthweight and worse outcomes for baby than just taking the meds, so if you're really depressed, it may be time to compromise and work on cognitive therapy while taking antidepressants to help during the process.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

Hi. I am also on an antidepressant (Celexa). And I am 14 weeks pregnant. My doctor advised me that it is not harmful to the fetus. The only concern is when the baby is born, that he/she may go through withdrawal once I give birth. The solution is that I am cutting down my dose every couple months until the baby is born. I also plan on nursing so I assume the baby will be weened from antidepressant as feeding become less frequent. Once I am done nursing I will begin again to raise my dosage again as needed. I also wanted to mention that this is my third child and I have done the above with my second child whom is now 3 years old and most important, totally healthy, "normal" and had no side effects from my medication. I hope thus helps. Please do note that not stopping your medication completely or dropping in dosage too quickly can cause you (mommy) to have what's called the rebound effect....not good and could put your own health (mental stability) at risk. Take it slow and take care of yourself. Good luck! Kelly

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I feel the need to answer this question because I am going through this now at 9 weeks pregnant. This is my 3rd child. My first pregnancy I was not yet on antidepressants. When I got pregnant with my 2nd child my OB told me that Effexor was a B rated pill and it was ok to stay on. I did not make it a secret that I wanted to breastfeed and the day I had my son, the doctor told me I could NOT breastfeed because I was on Effexor and there is no filter for breast milk. My son was diagnosed with Autism 2.5 years later. As soon as I found out I was pregnant with this baby, I stopped taking the medication which is now Celexa. The withdrawl symptoms were horrible and I am agitated very easily but It is now thought that anitdepressants are playing a role in children with Autism. I am not willing to take that risk no matter how safe my doctor says it is. If I had another child with autism, I don't know if I could live with the guilty feeling it was because of something I did. Good luck to all of you.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I agree that you should talk to your doctor and I caution that you may want to do some research. I took Celexa all through my pregnancy and was assured by my OB that it was safe. As soon as my son was born he started to crash. He had transposition of the great vessels and a coarctation both major heart defects requiring open heart surgery. I was lucky that I lived in a large city and was able to get him the immediate care he needed, had I not I could have lost him. He will require an additional heart surgery soon. I have no doubt that this drug caused this defect. Almost loosing a child is heart wrenching if I had lost him I don't know what I would have done. I still take antidepressants and I realize how they help people because they help me I just would REALLY caution taking them during pregnancy.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

The general consensus is that antidepressants aren't harmful for your and your baby's health but the better approach is to ask a specialist, I remember that I asked a doctor from California drug rehab and he told me to pause my treatment while I was pregnant. A specialist could prescribe you a different treatment. I would advice you to visit your doctor as soon as possible for a pertinent answer.

there are new findings that zoloft and prozac can cause heart problems in fetusus of moms who take them whil prego. lexapro can cause withdrawl in a newborn just like it can an adult who stops it too quickly. these are all newer drugs and the Drs do NOT KNOW ALL THE problems that they can cause. i took lexapro during my last prego and lost baby 4 months along and so this time i stopped all meds that includes my allergy meds. all im taking is 50mg of trazadone because otherwise i wont sleep at all for days. i am in a very stressful point right now but i figure that what im going thru is short term and if my baby was born with problems it would last my baby a life time. so ive chosen to suffer for a short time. i set my alarm to remind me to eat, i go to few places but make all the babys appointments and ive had 7 ultrasounds and im 14 weeks along. my baby is a high risk pregnancy any way so why add to his or her risks. im getting right on something once baby is born as long as i can breast feed a short time

I have struggled with anxiety and have been on celexa for years, while trying to get prego my Dr had my try switching to Zoloft because there have been more studiea done os it. It didnt work for me so Im back on the celexa and no concerns! Bottom line is you have to be healthy physically and emotionally, and only you and your Dr can weigh the risks and benefits for your situation. Good luck!!

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I have been on Zoloft and Prozac throughout my life due to major depressive disorder. U was so nervous about taking medication while pregnant. However, my GYN did a more thorough evaluation and determined that I was actually misdiagnosed and my symptoms pointed towards a diagnosis of PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). Turns out, that once I did get pregnant, the symptoms completely disappeared! I definitely lucked out and couldn't be happier! I joke that pregnancy is the best medication for me :-)

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

Prozac is not recommended during pregnancy. That is pretty certain. There have been cases of birth defects in the States and it does not seem to be a safe medicine. Actually every mother should avoid taking SSRIs. I was amazed to read some of adverse prozac side effects and they opened up my eyes. I have heard there are natural alternatives to prozac that really work. For instance Sam-E, HTP-5, St. John Wort and Omega 3 fatty acids are the most recommended prozac alternatives available in the market. They are and safe.

Q&A: Can I take antidepressants while pregnant?

I've heard Zoloft is relatively safe to take in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. I'm still in my first trimester and am off my Zoloft that I take for panic disorder. So far so good but I'm just taking it a day at a time and trying to stay as calm as possible. It's not easy is it?
