Your Pregnancy: Week 9

As you squeeze into your jeans and struggle to button your shirt, try enjoying the gain -- after all, when was the last time putting on the pounds was totally guilt-free? It's also probably time for some new lingerie. Your sore, bigger-by-the-minute boobs will feel so much better in a maternity bra.

> Is your weight gain normal?
> Looking for a great maternity bra?
> Is it safe to eat soft cheese?
> See all first trimester Q&As

Baby's now the size of a green olive!
Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like...well...a baby!

To-do:
> Consider a babymoon
> Schedule first prenatal checkup
> Reminder: schedule your CVS
> Go to your checklist

[ tip ] Ask for a free sample of whatever prenatal vitamin your doctor recommends. Better figure out if you're able to keep one down before buying an enormous bottle.

> Chat with other moms-to-be who share your due date

Just had our first doctor visit. Saw the heartbeat. I'm having terrible migraine headaches that last for two to three days. Is anyone experiencing this? Other than that i'm feeling a lot better.

by cabbatacola

cabbatacola, sorry you're not feeling well!!!!! I had terrible tension and sinus headaches not too long ago. Try ice packs or gentle heat wherever it feels best on your head, face, neck or shoulders. Lay down in a dark, quiet room. Even if you want to, DONT CRY! It will make it worse. Keep your raging hormones in check to avoid future migraines by paying careful attention to your diet. Avoid foods that trigger your headaches, eat smaller but more frequent meals throughout the day. And eat healthy healthy healthy. Your poor aching head will thank you for it. Chiropractic, massage or accupunture may provide relief if approved by your obgyn. Feel better!!

by doodlejenj

Eww, headaches.. Im sorry. Hope you found something to make it better. I was starting to get a headache but my nausea was worse so I just didnt concentrate on the headache. Hope you feel better soon.

MIGRAINES? How funny....I'm laying in bed after missing work for the 3rd time this week! I had colored spots in my vision and even had some crazy blind spots for about an hour. For 30 minutes of this craziness I also had my right arm go numb, starting at my pinkie. Dr was worried because I've never had migraines and wants to do an MRI and I made the appointment but then they mentioned the birth defects possible so I spoke with my husband and we decided against it. I'm soooo glad that you mentioned this! It really makes me feel so much better about our decision not to have the MRI. I can feel good about concluding that this is just a normal first trimester symptom! Thanks Ladies! *Muuuuuah*

My headaches are never ending, I have to pee ALL THE TIME, and I am going to have rock hard abs from all the hurling.. rough few weeks!

by christinaalynn

No Appetite. i haven't had a appetite since i became pregnant, but i am able to eat fruits infact that's what i crave. Especially watermelon!! any one else experiencing a small appetite. Hopefully it will pick up soon

by ready4baby#2

can someone please give me advice??? I'm so scared my baby is going to have some sourt of defect being that, I have Sickle Cell anemia. And for the past 5 years I've been on heavy narcotics (methadone) which I'm still on! My Doc told me that methadone yet strong doesn't cause any known Diseases. But to just be prepared on knowing that for its first few days the baby will have to be detoxed from the pain killers I take. I have cut down from my original dose, but can"t stop cold turkey because of the pain crisis I get from Sickle Cell!!! So should I still be stressing it???

does anyone know what to do about all day sickness(not just morning)

by christyn_lemon

wow! seems like most girls have been sick still I am nine weeks now but for a little over a week my morning sickness has gone away I am feeling a lot better already.

by cessypoo

Waiting for my next appointment on the 19th of October , last appt. was last month. Anxtious to hear the heartbeat to let me know all is well.

by mshelly2329

I'm feeling pretty good this week, not as tired or feeling sick, I hope it stays that way. I got a news letter saying that hormone levels will be at a peak this week. I hope it's not true, feeling sick suck.

by lzn840

For a little under s week now I haven't had the morning sickness, but still have those random "ugh" moments of nausea. To make up for the lack of morning sickness, I've been getting ever-so-much fun headaches and migraines. Ice packs are essential for these as well as deep breathing. For those out there who have intense headaches... try this: Cup your hands over your nose and mouth. Take deep breaths in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Keep this up for about a minute or two. Its a little trick my doc showed me to help migraines. Good Luck Ladies!!!

by Georgia Peach 87

I have been miserable throwing up everyday several times a day! Bought some sea-bands 2 days ago and they have worked great! Didn't throw up once yesterday and didn't really even get nauseous! I'd try them if you are feeling sick!

by bush75

Hi...I am nine weeks pregnant & really showing. I had Invitro Fertilization & this is my first Pregnancy. I'm like freeking out because I'm like showing as if I am 4 months & there is only 1 baby not twins. Everyone keeps saying I didn't show at all until 4-5-6 months & I just don't understand why you would be showing so early. I thought maybe it was from all the shots of hormones I had to take to have the INVITRO. Is anyone else having the same problem?

by Chickletcs

I've had five concusions (I trained horses before I was pregnant, you get thrown, or kicked every now and then)... the head aches I got from those after I came to were nothing compaired to these pregnancy headaches.

by mandajyoung

Just entering my ninth week and boy am I tired! Trying to keep up with my busy boys is proving to be quite difficult! Go to see my o.b. next week for another ultrasound! Can't wait!

by alrrla621

So excited im 9 weeks! the all day sickness is the downer tho lol

by spaldj

To TNKP1NK96- I'm also 9 weeks, but I'm also an OB nurse! If you're having visual disturbances with your headaches that might not be a normal sign of pregnancy...how are your blood pressures?? Sometimes Visual disturbances with headaches can be a sign of pregnancy induced hypertension....so make sure not to just ignore those symptoms!!! Basically the only symptoms I have had so far are the sore breasts :( and decreased appetite and fatigue, no nausea yet.....!

by amysteger

the best thing to do for migraines is go in complete dark and sleep for a little while... and morning sickness just eat... it is VERY hard to eat when your not up to it. but you will NOT feel sick or i drink sprite or vernors and it helps ALOT..

by Blondie1002

yES! i get migraines all the time.. its totally normal .. especially if your having nausea

by chelle143

I have had a lot of migranes too! i've been told that it's pretty common in pregnancy..so i'm just trying to take it in stride! I have really bad heartburn as well...

by miss_braun3

cabbatacola -- I have been having the same migraine issue. One lasted 4 days! I have been extremely constipated also, not to mention all day morning sickness. There is definitely a connection between my migraines and my constipation, if you have it also, then I recommend colace for a stool softener. Otherwise, my doc prescribed me fioricet when nothing else will work for the headache. Good luck!

by babypearmain

If you're experiencing tension headaches, try Excedrin Tension Headache...it can really help. It contains acetominophen (just like Tylenol, okay for pregnancy) and caffeine. If you're not drinking a lot of coffee or sodas, the caffeine in this medicine is within acceptable levels for pregnant women. Massage, reflexology, and acupuncture can also provide headache relief.

by Brannan

I have not had too many symptoms but last night was horrible!! I breasts were as hard as bricks and I could barely stand! Tell me that someone else has had this!

by JalynSue

I have had a few headaches this week, but nothing too horrible. I have to say I have been really blessed, I've had very very little nausea to none. I am mostly tired and want to have some energy back!

by jeepngirly

tnkp1nk96: I just experienced the same thing in Sept. Went to the ER and they diagnosed it as a TIA (mini stroke), but my cardiologist strongly believes it could have been an advanced migraine. You are the only other person that I have read that has experienced the exact same symptoms, numbness, loss of vision. We didn't know I was pregnant at the time (all three test I took in the hospital were negative) and did have the MRI and CT scan and a zillion other test. Glad to hear that it sounds like it really might just have been pregnancy related.

by Blessedin1977

I am also having terrible migraines I even have to turn off al the lights in the room and shut off everything, the nauseas are a bit better, but still can't eat much at all just crackers, some cookies, fruit and cereal. I hope you feel better try turning off the lights and noise free space , it really helps a lot.

by cristinaeugenia

Ready4Baby#2, I have had little appetite either. Very odd...I'm craving watermelon and apples :) Since I'm not wanting to eat a lot, I've been drinking my weight in V8 V-Fusion Fruit/Vegetable juice and Fruitables juice boxes by Apple and Eve. Both have a full serving of fruits and vegetables. Doctor said it's a great idea. GOOD LUCK!

by haleylplatury

The best cure for my headaches is HEAD ON. Know those silly commercials? Well this stuff works and it's topical so I don't feel guilty popping pills.. It's like putting Ben Gay on your forehead. I get barometric migraines so can not figure out if its the weather or the pregnancy or both!

by jenfoxprout

I feel terrible. No vomiting, but no appetite and consequently hunger pangs. Constantly. That are totally wearing on my already frazzled nerves. I also have an anxiety disorder that I've been advised to stop taking meds for. I broke down and took one last night because it got so bad, I had feelings of fear leaving the house. Awesome. So, lets hope my kid isn't born with a cleft palate or gills. I'll be calling my doctor today. Pregnancy is soooo magical.

by Laura0575

i am 9 weeks today and i have a little cold...kinda scared to get anything to take for it..but i am miserable. So i am taken my list of what meds u can take over to the store and i hope it makes me feel better...

by QTKT485

had 2 weeks where i could not eat. Well I ate creamy soup and that was it. All the sudden 8w 5d and I wanted Taco Johns pototoes! Ate like a champa and so far going on day 3 of being able to eat solid good food again. I never thought that would happen. Also think I was low on iron. Started on Floradix, other than green pee no side effects so far. I am so excited I'll hear the heartbeat in a couple weeks. The throwing up went away and then came back in full force today. UGH! but I guess that is good then I know we are still growing. I 've been up for 3 hours and want a nap.

Going for our 1st U/S today :) I have been having horrible headaches also and have found that if I go lay in a quiet room for half an hour or so it helps some. I am so excited!!!

by jkj1995

A little frustrated cause the dr. says we probably wont get an ultra sound until I am 20 weeks! 11 more weeks to go.....

by brendafergson_86

We have already had two appointments and one ultra sound. A little bummed out because with the first pride and joy we were able to get print outs of the US and hear the heartbeat. This time, no heartbeat and I had to request they put our pictures on a CD for us. I am going to a different hospital but that is not by choice, it is because of our insurance. First time I have experienced slight morning sickness also. The car makes me so ill.

by eriveness

This is my second and I have never felt worse!

by eriveness

Heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time today. Getting very excited for this new journey in life.

by brendafergson_86

I haven't gotten sick, nausea is almost non-existent, not really peeing all that much... am I weird? I do get occasional headaches, everything smells weird to me and my boobs are a total pain, but thats it. I'm thinking about you ladies having it rough. Keep peppermints and crackers around!!!

by JNREESE217

Just heard teh heartbeat..177!! It was beautiful!!

by MBT11

I had the same thing earlier this week, my Dr. said I could take Tylenol, and that seemed to help also make sure are getting enough protein in your diet, after I ate a big chicken sandwich mine went away.

by mayababy

Just saw the heartbeat today! I made it all seem so real! The vomiting, constant urge to pee, headaches and constipation were just lame before, but seeing the reason has made me feel so much better.

by valerine1234

Man! I am Having Food aversions to EVERYTHING! but at the same time I feel like Im starving! Any ideas??

by aivlys_sylvia

I get migraines also and they're HORRIBLE! As if the first trimester doesn't feel unpleaseant enough, this is one thing I didn't experience with my 1st 2 boys and I wish it wasn't happening this time. I wish I could give you pointers, but i've yet to find anythingthat remotely helps. I miss being able to take my meds! I guess I do feel better knowing that it's not just me...

by LindsayBeth802

i was told that persistent headaches, acompannied by elevated blood pressure could indicate a possible sign of miscarriage. Ladies please discuss these headaches with your doctors just to be sure!!!! Please be careful out there.

by artsyme_001

Cabbatacola- Did you completely stop caffeine cold turkey when you found out you were pregnant? I did and had the same problem. If you did they could actually be caffeine withdrawl headaches. I told my doctor about them and she said it was actually ok to have a small cup of coffee in the AM. I have a small 8oz. cup in the mornings and the headaches are gone!

by Baxter2006

yes, I wake up at like 4am every day with slight headaches/feeling like junk! but they are not bad enough that I would want to take anything for it- once I get up and start moving around it seems to go away slowly- annoying

by Tina070

All I've had is headaches for the past few days and horrible heartburn! anything i can do thats organic for heartburn?

by katemhenne

Chiropractic can definitely help you with your migraines and your overall health and baby's health. You may be having neck issues which can put pressure on the nerves that run to you head and can cause headaches. Also, staying properly aligned throughout your pregnancy will help with the change of balance-(having more weight in front), it can help you to maintain a stronger core and prevent scoliosis and other lower back problems associated with the weight gain. Hope this helps :-)

by Aminoffri9

Hi everyone, sorry about the headaches. I havent gotten those but I am throwing up like every other day. Horrible feeling. and all food looks disgusting.

by waltjess9798

HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER CABBATACOLA!! I´ve been feeling very very sleepy and tired.. but thats the only symptom I´ve had thank God!!!! I´ve had some headaches but normal ones.... and I´m looking forward to hear the heartbeat!!!! ohh... and Ii´m very happy, this is my first baby! good luck!!!!

by MRS.MANRIQUE

i'm not pregnant, but my best friend is and I've been going to her dr's appointments with her. headaches are completely normal! your body's still trying to level out all the extra hormones and blood flow... try tiger balm! it will help and there's no limit on how much you can put on! you only need a little bit, but its a small enough container that you can keep it in your purse and apply it when you need it! good luck!

by kylieroseagard

yea past couple of days i have had headaches too...its been hard at work...its just like they will not go away!!!

by NikkiPeters

ooooooh :(. I get migraines too. My mom gets them so maybe it's genetic? :-/. Drink lots of water! It's so awesome how just with one week the baby grows drastically!!! I have my doc's appt tomorrow. I'm scared because this is my first baby and I hope all goes well. Wish me luck guys! :(

by alma_vargas

Headaches haven't started yet though I had them bad with my 1st pregnancy. Maybe I'll be lucky and skip them?

by susanfame

im 9wks and im having a major issue with my nipples being itchy all the time anybody else have this and any suggestions?

by negra13

Yeah, I missed work yesterday due to a 2 day migrane. Tylenol is like candy to me...it does nothing for me! I kept headaches w/ my 1st pregnancy. This pregnancy not so much....knock on wood!! But here's something new for this pregnancy........Heart Palpatations! Scary I know, but my midwife says they are very common in pregnancy. She said that Caffiene especiallly sets them off and I love my Caffiene! I think that is why I get the Headaches b/c I am trying to be good and stay away from Caffiene to prevent the palpatations, but I have learned that if you eat some type of protein....whether it be meat or cheese, it tends to counteract with the palpatations! There are ways to get what you are craving w/out the symptoms:)

by ericapeeps

I'm 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Since about 6 weeks I've been so nauseas, but for the past 2 days it has been a lot better. I have also noticed that since my nausea has eased up my breasts seem to hurt more and my nipples seem to be dry and itchy. lol can't win. Is there anyone else on here that has noticed the nausea easing up around 9 weeks, or has itchy nipples?

by jandrade65

i work in a doctors office here are the FACTS from a doctors electronic referrance called UP TO DATE it is 100% accurate and should answer questions:Magnetic resonance imaging — Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging uses electromagnetic radio waves, rather than ionizing radiation, to generate detailed computer images. At the cellular level, possible direct biologic effects of MR imaging consist of (1) induction of local electric fields and currents from the static and time varying magnetic fields, and (2) radiofrequency radiation resulting in heating of tissue. Other potential dangers include trauma from projection of metal objects into the magnetic field (eg, small metal fragments can be projected into the eyes), interference with the operation of electronic devices (eg, cardiac pacemakers) or position of metallic implants, burns from heating of conductive materials in implants, and acoustic damage from high intensity noise. Despite these concerns, there are NO reported harmful effects from MR imaging of the pregnant woman or fetus [38-40]. However, safety studies have been performed predominantly at or below 1.5 Tesla magnetic field strengths. There may be an increased risk of tissue heating at higher field strengths. In some cases, MR imaging is the preferred diagnostic modality because it provides better images than ultrasonography, while avoiding the ionizing radiation of computed tomography. Although the National Radiological Protection Board advises that MR imaging be avoided in the first trimester since there is limited experience assessing safety during organogenesis, MR imaging should be considered in the first trimester when the benefit exceeds the theoretic risk. As an example, first trimester MR imaging is a reasonable option in a pregnant women with suspected appendicitis in whom the appendix cannot be visualized by ultrasound examination. hope this helps.

by futureshattuck

We just had our first doctors appointment and it was wonderful! We had an ultrasound and was able to see but not hear the hear beating. The pregnancy actually became more real for me now that I have seen the little guy or girl! But one odd thing, they found cysts on my ovaries, large ones, and the doctor said it's normal for that to occur during pregnancy. Never heard of that before.

by tkusske

Had our 1st doctor visit 2 weeks ago and getting so excited about baby. We should hear the heartbeat at our next visit! I've been lucky thus far with no nausea or migranes. But I'm experiencing SEVERE joint pain at night. Doctor says just to live through for the next 7 months????? Not sure if I can...

by njackson19

I'm 9 1/2 weeks and I've been getting this pevlic pulling sensation in my pelvic bone area. Also not feeling very motivated to do anything (or work for that matter). Anyone else???

by nm32216t

Yes, it is part of the pregnancy cabbatacola. Kinda goes along with morning sickness.

by mmiller210

Heartburn kicked in for me this week, laying in bed last night and I felt like I was breathing fire! Dealing with the whole dizzy thing too, DR. says to make sure I am getting enough water... that might help some people with headaches too?! Cold packs on the back of the neck help me with migranes - definiltly worth a try also - Good luck everyone!

I had horrible migranes but they have kind of gone down, i had to try to get as much sleep as possible and had to force my self to eat, as i had no appetite. For 2 weeks i mixed in some caffeine it helped with my headaches. I guess a little wont hurt. im off the caffeine again now.

by crysnav

I'm 9 1/2 weeks now. Everyone keeps reassuring me that once I hit the second trimester that the nausea and vomitting will get better. Today's been okay and I've been able to keep down two small meals, but for most of the week I've had horrible nausea and haven't been able to keep down most meals. I'm starting to notice that if I eat reeeeaaallllly slow, take small bites, and eat a child's portion I have a better chance of digesting the food. Also, I've got to sit for at least 30 minutes after eating, or the walking makes me nauseaus. As a teacher, this is near impossible at lunch time. I have to cram in whatever I can for fuel! I'm also beginning to question my preferrence of prenatal vitamins. I asked for the chewable ones, but with the struggles with food I'm having, I'm thinking this may not have been the best idea. I was taking the vitamins in the morning, but then switched to nights before bed. Now....bedtime seems to be when I'm feeling my worst. So frustrating! Is anyone else experiencing this???

by angel7777

I am sick all day every day! I am 9ish weeks...due 9/19/10....I am on zofran and that is not helping! And on top of all of that...I have a bad cold!!!

by StephanieEspo

I'm 9 weeks and I don't feel as sick as I have been earlier on.... I would feel nauseous all day, especially in late evenings. I'm still trying to eat healthy, but sometimes the junk food just stomachs better than the veggies! The only headaches I've dealt with are caffeine headaches (I'm trying to cut back!) It was so exciting to see the heartbeat for the first time! I can honestly wait for the "baby bump" as I am not really looking forward to getting maternity clothes :)

by lauren_mpenny

First doc visit is coming soon!! very nervous...and i must say, i HATE MORNING SICKNESS!!! I cant keep anything down! i just keep losing more weight...any suggestions?

by Fanee1223

by daisy19msu

I HAVE headaches on the days i do not have any caffine. Sooo i have caffine atleast once a day. (it prevents the headache!)

by neonpink83

i had my first appointment today i'm nine weeks pregnant and the doctor tried to hear the heart beat but couldn't she said not to worry sometimes u can't hear it until ten but every one i know could hear it and 8 weeks some times 7... i have an ultra sound scheduled in two weeks but i can't help but to worry until then... is it normal to not be able to hear the heart beat until 10 weeks???

by teenii0910

I am nine weeks today and have been taking prenatals for about 2 years and have not experienced any morning sickness. Thank goodness. I had a miscarriage over a year ago and we just got pregnant since then. We are so excited and can't wait till our 12 week mark to share the news.

by Mrs.Loerakker

be sure you are drink a lot of water also! I don't remember all the specifics of why but it was in my biology class years ago and that's all I took away from the class. doodlejenj sounds right now too! i have a chiropractor that works wonders for headaches!

by alwayssunkist

I was 9 weeks Friday...I am going to the doctors Wednesday...My doctor says they usually see patients between 8-10 weeks to see the heartbeat...Ive been feeling really good compared to how I felt 2-3 weeks ago...

by tcaseyyy

I'm almost exactly 9 weeks and everything is as usual... nausea, gaining a belly already, huge boobs, and all of it I expected. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a bad taste in their mouth? Like constantly no matter how many times you rinse/brush teeth... it's pretty weird and not in my baby book, so I wasn't sure if it was pregnancy related or not.

by RSurewd

I have been soooo sick! Funny you should mention rock hard abs...I joke around about that a lot. I am 9 weeks and actually weigh less now than I did when I got pregnant. I have been sooo sick. The doctor game me something for the sickness but a side effect is "intense headaches"...LOL! Can't win for loosing. Let's bring on the second trimester so I can get past this phase!

by ESChamba

i have no symptoms is that normal my breast hurt for like a week but thats it

by missy83cn

I heard my baby's heartbeat at 8 weeks 5 days. Most amazing feeling ever. I am so constipated & pee every 1/2 hour ... these are the major downfalls. I had terrible headaches early, early on but not anymore. I know we are all different w/our pregnancies.

by BMWbaby87

Does anyone else have this problem??? I go pee, then as soon as I do, I have to throw up, i throw up soooo hard that I pee all over myself. Anyone else going through this??? It is sooo very embarrassing. I just hope it doesnt happen while I am outside the house.

by prplbttrfly77

Cabbatacola, I am 9 weeks and I have had headaches off and on for a while. I would have to say since at least week 5. They are usually concentrated in one area but are excrutiating. The only thing that really helps is to lay down and as soon as I open my eyes they pound away again. Fortunately, in about week 8 they subsided and I still get them but not as frequently as before. Good luck with yours. My cousin is 38 weeks and she has had them all throughout her pregnancy. Her doctor ended up putting her on vicoden for them, but even then she said they only went away briefly. So, maybe you should ask the doctor about them. Some people believe that they may come from low blood pressure or other complications, so it doesn't hurt to say something to the doctor.

by forlacoley

I have all day sickness and it is not getting any better. No vomiting just nausea 24/7 with it being worse at night. I am getting a bit desperate for it to be over. I just seem to get worse every week and passing day. Any ideas to help with this?

by aguadocxa

I havent been able to enjoy being pregnant yet. Iam always nauseaus, not to mention the contsant headaches. I hope this eases up soon. :(

by SILVIARIVERA

I had horrible headaches. I would sit at work at my desk with a cold compress throughout the day..it makes me feel ALOT better... But for the past couple days they have been pretty mild...I just turned 9 weeks and Im hoping they contiune to decrease with intensity as I approach the wonderful 2nd trimester :)

Hi THis is my second pregnacy and my goodness is this so much different. It seems like my first pregnacy I had I was sick from the time I saw positive on the test strip. But this one I am so hungry and I have yet to feel ill. Time will only tell if the sickness will kick in. I am only 9 weeks along and my husband and I found out quite early. I had a dream a week after I concieved and we both new it was true concidering I had a dream quite like it on our first pregancy. The only difference is in my dream I knew what the sex was. That was very weird. We are so excited and want to tell our youngest but we are waiting til we get through our first trimester.

Almost to my 10th week! :D woooo!

by Breeanaa

i had a few migrane headaches. its suppose to be caused by all the hormones. I took Extra Strength Tylenol. My doctor gave me permission to of course! hope you feel better

by bwarfield

tnkp1nk96: I found out I had a very large brain tumor after my second baby. I had somethings happen to me like you were describing(not saying thats what its from) I have gotten an MRI in my second trimester with my 3rd(they told me it was the safest) and my daughter was fine although I still worried till she was born. My symptoms never went away after pregnancy though so I'd just keep an eye on it after. My tumor has been removed and come back but it's been gone for almost 2yrs and with this pregnancy I still get weird things happening like bad headackes and being dizzy and the numbness and cramping in my hand. So hopefully its just pregnancy

I was prescribed Reglan and even with that I still hurl and i've tried a bunch of prenatal vitamins and they won't stay, same with the substitute flintstone vitamins won't stay down its been rough, and I get up every 2 hours while sleeping cause I have to pee.. Its rough I hope it'll end soon once I'm out of the first trimester in 3 weeks.

by Kerrinamanda

my nausea seems to be increasing....I felt GREAT until week 7....now I am struggling. My energy is nil, smells are unbelievably bad....I gag at almost everything. I find that dunk donuts orange coolattas seem to be helping. That and chocolate milkshakes

by TURTLE1WALKER

cabbatacola, i've been experiencing the same thing but my migraines turned into sezires. so they took me out of work,. i am due nov. 30th. but my dr said that its due to my migraines..i hope everything gets better for you!

by Pierce09a

i go in for my first ultrasound friday ! so excited! but i hate having this morning sickness. it lasts from the minute i get out of bed to the minute i fall asleep. is any one else experiencing this?

by shaylaw12

Can't wait for my visit in 2 weeks! I can't wait to hear the heatbeat!!

by diblasinis

I get horrid migranes, I stay nausiated, and when I hurl (not often)its like awful slow motion puke of death. If I eat several times a day it helps a lot. An empty stomach makes me pukey. I cry all the time (doesn't help that hubby is in the middle of a deployment write up) On the upside, the hormones definatly keep me in a raunchy mood. Plus, I get two votes for everything now "hubby, baby and I want chick fil a tonight" =)

by MrsRobUSMC

tomorrow i will be nine weeks feeling a little anxious for the next ultrasound. Is anyone experiencing lower back pain and cramping weeks 8-9? have been fortunate to feel pretty good so far but last couple days just feeling pretty crappy, also heard hormones are peaking around this time. good luck to everyone and getting closer to the end of the first trimester!!!

This is my second pregnancy and I didn't have morning sickness or the headaches with the first but do now. I am 9 weeks and 2 days today and the headaches really do put you out. I have found that laying in a quiet room with a cold rag on my forehead and peppermint oil on the rag helps. Peppermint tea is also great and peppermint also calms queasy tummies. I hope this helps.

Yes, Cabbatacola-I also suffer from migraines. The best advice I can give is to find a good chiropractor who does gentle manipulation. Thats the only way to get rid of them since you can't take any meds for them. Try to find a chiropractor who was trained in the Palmer method-its gentler. Ask them to use the activator instead of crankking your neck to adjust. An activator is a little tool they use to put the vertebrae's back in place. Good luck!

I am 9 1/2 weeks into my first pregnancy. We had our first appointment/ultrasound at 9 weeks exactly. We saw the heartbeat! We are going in again tomorrow to listen to the heartbeat. I have been super sick from week 6 on, and lost about 12 pounds from constant vomiting and lack of appetite, but the symptoms are starting to calm a bit. Hopefully I'm over the worst! I've had no headaches, thank goodness, but I have really bad hunger pains even after eating a good portion. Anyone else experiencing constant hunger pains?

by samanthamendez

Man this first 9 weeks has been so tiring and long. I am 9 1/2 weeks along and have another ultrasound appt for tomorrow yay! My husband is going with me to see the baby nad see the haertbeat. !st ultrasound was at 5 weeks and we could only see the sac, because I am at higher risk for ectopic we made sure baby was in the uterus, now just waiting to see the baby's heartbeat! We are so happy this is my 5th child so already had some practice LOL!

by rachelrivera850

I used to get migranes about 3 days before my period all the time, but since getting pregnant, I haven't had any! So I guess I'm the opposite which is good since I probably wouldnt be able to take my migrane medication. I've had some nausea and pee A LOT. also noticed I'm not shedding as much hair as usual in the shower. Hope all of you suffering migranes feel better! I know how horrible they can be.

by KristyC81

Having morning sickness like crazy. No let me change that to ALL day long sickness.... Whew!! when will this go away. I have two others and have never been sick like this...

by candicewilliams4

I am on my ninth week and morning sickness has turned into all day sickness... i feel terrible... and i get sooooo bloated! anyone else experiencing this??

by iastudi2

I get super bloated in the pm. I usually look and feel about 4 months along as opposed to the 9 weeks that I currently am. I also have all day sickness that has slightly subsided since I stopped taking my prenatals and just take folic acid. However, I got a TERRIBLE head cold that is really doing me in right now. Between the fact that I feel like my head might explode and having my sinuses drain causing an upset stomach I feel like a bit of a walking disaster.

by echeese

No headaches, but 24 hour sick to my stomache! I can't stand it. I've lost 6 pounds so far. I even wake up in the middle of the night sick to my stomache. I was not this bad with my daughter! This leads my husband to believe its a boy! We'll see!

by jlnethery

Well I am very excited about this... My 4th baby. I know what to expect, but it is still so fun to learn an see things, This is Josh's 1st baby so it makes it even more fun an for him to see things an read he is supper happy! I feel great just so sleepy an cant stop eating everything, that drives me crazy!

by mamma23

I totally agree with the puking and the peeing all the time and have started to get some minor head aches. I am just so tired and feel like all I want to do is sleep. I just feel so guilty missing work because I don't have a big belly it's like they think i shouldn'e have any symptoms yet. Ugh!

just had our first doctor visit also. saw the heartbeat, it was breathtaking...i havent had many headaches-but they are on and off a whole lot more than they use to be! Im not experiencing to many problems right now, just raging hormones, everything always seems like the wrong thing said or the wrong look givin! I'm very, very tired though..fighting the sleep now! Its my first pregnancy,,,excited& VERY nervous!!

by ash24tn

I'm with you on the headaches. Their aweful!!!! Mine got so bad that my doc gave me vicoden, it has really helped. Tylenol just wasn't cutting it.... I normally wouldn't take something so strong, but he said it was perfectly safe and said to have never caused any complications or birth defects...

by kbrunton

I am experiencing frequent migraines also! The Chiropractor is my new best friend! Also, a pillow with a curve for your neck- great help so far!

by tayschafer

i been having really bad headace... they said if ur not drinking enough or eatting enough ur get a headace

by mommy2be2120

My nurse/midwife scheduled me for the NT test instead of a CVS. Anyone else had one of these? non-invasive, just bloodwork and ultrasound combo... is it worth it?

by endicottl

I'm 9 weeks and my first appointment is in 5 days. My appetite is basically gone.I have food aversions to almost everything...almost everything smells bad. Saltine crackers, toast and plain rice and bland chicken are ok. I have all day nausea/morning sickness, and terrible sciatic nerve pain. I'm so exhausted; I feel like I've been working out like crazy, but I've just been lying around the house the past few days. I hope this part of it is over soon.

by lukeandgina

This is my second pregnancy, and its sooo much different from the first one. I am sick allll the time, cant eat anything..So tired I sleep for days at a time if I dont get up. I pee every 10 minutes. And my first one was way different than this... Yikes. Hope its a girl this time...

by nicolettemarie

When I went in for my first appointment my Dr mentioned the possiblity of migraines coming on. He told me that when it does come on to drink a cafinated drink, like coke, and take some extra strength tylenol. He said it usually helps. (not looking forward to those as I'm used to getting brutal sinus migraines...lol) I have to say that so far I've had it pretty easy. Only minor nausea but I'm not sleeping very well so I'm exhausted durring the day. My sister is due in August and she had a miserable 1st trimester...so I expected the same.

by SneauxDayz

I get migraines all the time - 3 severe with last pregnancy - so far none yet. Things I have done to prevent them this time...rather than cut caffine completely I order half caf coffees, smaller size and 2 max per week. Cut back on the sugar, try to get some exercise and SLEEP. Also if you can find it - rub peppermint oil on your temples.

by keithat

I've had headaches for four days now. It's terrible because I can't take anything for it and I am hydrated and eating as healthy as I can. I can wait to get through the first trimester.

by yaffa2

Chickletcs- I too look 4-5 mos pregnant at 9 weeks I say we can bame it on all the hormones we have been jacked up on for our IVF cycles. I finally got pregnant on our 3 rd IVF cycle and after 2 IUI's.

by JayZandHebbie

Good to know that others out there are also have the terrible headaches! The worst of my life oher then the few true migranes I've had. Only a little naseau but the headaches are awful.

by daniellecrop

We had our first ultrasound appt yesterday and got to see the heartbeat! It would have been a lot more fun had I not had to pee SO badly. I mean, REALLY badly. I've had ultrasounds for cysts before and kidneys that required me to have a full bladder, but being pregnant is a WHOLE new ballgame! Apparently, I metabolize really quickly, so all 48 oz when down and actually backed up into my kidneys. Very painful! There comes a certain point where your body just takes over bladder control and I was absolutely there...lol. I had to seriously comtemplate the social repurcussions of walking into the U/S clinic having wet my pants. I was in such a panic! They actually let me lose 5 whole cups and I still had more than enough. Asking a pregnant woman who has to pee a lot more often to hold a litre and a half of water in a bladder the size of her fist that's being pushed on by her uterus for 2.5 hours is cruel! I had to do the "count to 5 pee and stop" a couple times before I went in Glad it's done and we got to see the little one's doing just fine:) Such a relief. Loved it!

by jamieswainson

I had the most awful migraines with my first pregancy that started in my third month. I went to the hospital like 2 times a week for several weeks to get phenergan shots as that is the only thing that brought relief. It only lasted a couple of weeks, but it was the most awful experience ever, I was completely debilitated. Praying for you that are going through this, as I know how awful it is. Come to find out I had a pinal cyst on my brain that had ruptured, which was diagnosed by my neurologist when I was about 14 weeks or so- not a big deal, it was just a fluid filled sac, but he was certain that is what was causing my problem. So, I do recommend seeing a board certified neurologist, just to be sure it is nothing more serious. I had a healthy baby girl who was not affected at all by my treatment.

by Melaniedz98

Ladies my headaches are worse than ever...I have tried everything (tylenol, sleep, dark, ice packs, warm showers, even massage) nothing had worked....I called my OB nurse and she called in a safe migraine med. It worked wonders in mere hours!! It is worth asking about!!!

by llewelynfamily

Sorry for the headaches lately, mine have been much better. I had chronic migraines before I got pregnant and they have been much better since I became pregnant, but I did talk to my doctor about what to do when i get them and she advised me to take two tylenol with a cup of coffee. I have had to do this twice and it worked both times. Hope this helps and relieves a bit of the pain.

by aly2qt

I thought I was 5 weeks pregnant but went to the doctor yesterday and she suspects I'm actually 9 weeks. So exciting! Explains why I'm so exhausted and nauseous. I guess getting those symptoms at "4 weeks" should have been a clue that my math was off :)

by saredn

Sorry to hear about the migraines. I have frequent migraines and regular headaches and since I got pregnant haven't had the slightest ache! Is anyone having trouble with pre-natal vitamins? I've tried a few and they have all made me feel really sick. I thought it was all morning sickness but I've taking a few days off of vitamins and each time I feel fine on those days! I just switched to Pre-Natal One...1 taken so far and I think I'm good!

by lalevesque

i too have been experiencing migraines...trust me i want to cry all the time =P i just have a cup or two of caffeine and tylenol and it goes away for awhile then they come running back.

by marian86808

I have been having sinus headaches all day....Along with Nausea.....Hopefully my 2nd trimester is much more relaxing

by stephanie22384

Just had our first appt yesterday morning! How amazing to think that there is a little person growing inside me!!! It's truely a miracle! :) This is our first baby so we are so excited! Nausea hasn't been too bad as long as I stay away from foods with a lot of seasoning or flavor and my tiredness is getting better. I feel like I have much more energy if I walk a mile or more a day. We're just so excited and nervous all at the same time!

by pinkgirlie04

i had my first appointment at 7 weeks and i had a vaginal probe. i was able to hear a heartbeat, see the body and head. it was exciting!

by sweetheart2011

I have not had any headaches but i'm still vomiting one to two times a day! My stomach and throat are sore from doing it so often!

by angsmith505

I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDMA FOR THE FIRST TIME! MY OLDEST DAUGHTER OF 4 IS 9 WEEKS PREGNANT...MY ADVICE TO SHARE IS TO BUY NURSING BRAS IF YOU ARE GOING TO NURSE INSTEAD OF PLAIN MATERNITY BRAS..THEY ARE JUST AS SUPPORTIVE..GRAMMA MARY

by marypixley@aol.com

I think I am 9 weeks pregnant w/ my third, but I have already been having really bad back pain in my lower right side of my back. It makes it difficult to walk at times as well. I am also having a hard time catching my breath and at times I feel like my heart is going to pound out of my chest. I never had problems like these until the end of my first 2 pregnancies so is this normal or any suggestions?

by mnmvance

I've had rhorrible headaches for the past few weeks. I've noticed a direct correlation between the headaches and the days I am not drinking coffee, it could be withdrawal from caffeine if you were a coffee drinker and are trying to stay away now. Otherwise make sure you're eating frequently and drinking enough water, low blood sugar and dehydration could also cause headaches.

by MGGolden

Hi I'm 9wks and two day had a visit early in the week, we had our first ultrsd and heard the baby heart beat music to my ears. I also found out I can do the flinstone vitamins instaed of prenatal pills its so hard to get thoes horse pills down ( whew).....

by Windyharris35

Hi everyone...I'm 9 weeks 4 days. Having lots of queasiness. Vitamin B6-25mg three times/day has helped. I also split my prenatal vitamins in half and take one in the morning and one at night. This has made it easier.

by thesairs

Years ago when I got off the pill I had that same visual migraine with the colored spots & the blind spots which lasted less than an hour. I ran to my eye dr & she called it something i forgot but anyway said it was common when women's hormones change such as getting on/off the pill. For me it only happended that one time. I bet yours is related to your preggie hormones. I'd still go to your eye dr tho just to be sure.

by twirlyjack73

I saw my heartbeat last week for the first time. What an amazing feeling. I've been very lucky so far, no morning sickness or headaches. Just tired all the time. :)

by sarahnlv

just had my first ultrasound Tuesday. TWINS!

by walana

So I am in the middle of my 9th week. I haven't been vomiting or anything but I have lost my appetite. NOTHING sounds good. I start eating and then it just doesn't taste good. What to do???

by jamijoe

you're allowed to taked tylenol 325 mg or less... i'd stick to 250... dont go thru the pain of a headache if you dont have to... i get migraines too but as soon as I feel some pain coming on.. I take pop in a tylenol, and go to bed! it works for me!

by Frenchybaby529

2 days ago my stomach area looked bigger.. why do i feel as if i am shrinking if the baby is growing?... Cabbatacola_Also for headaches I eat a popsicle or carrots with peanut butter while using a cold compress (a washcloth) on my head, neck and shoulders. If that doesnt work I just take another nap.

by elated2011

Second visit this morning. Baby got so big so fast! Went from a tiny little circle to baby shape in just a few weeks. Heartbeat MUCH faster than first time too. Can't stop looking at the Ultrasound pics with his/her tiny little arm and leg buds. Finding it hard to think about anything else besides our sweet little baby. How am I expected to concentrate on work after an exciting morning like that?! = )

by AustinKPiglet

Cabbatacola: I too suffered from SEVERE migraines during pregnancy and not during pregnancy. I would like to say that I have a VERY high tolerance for pain, I had my last daughter naturally, no pain medication what so ever. Not to say there wasn't pain associated with that, but none the less I had her naturally. Now the migraines I would get would be so horrible that I would literally be in tears and layed out on the couch. No matter what I took and what I did nothing and I mean NOTHING seemed to work. I even started looking up symptoms online and I started thinking I had a brain tumor of some sort. Yes, it was extreme!!! Lucky me I have an awesome sister who is an herbalist!!! I know right, some people don't get all into that kind of stuff but she does and because of her, so do I!!! There have been so many things wrong with me over the course of that last few years and our advice as done wonders. Vitamins and natural things do really work, I'm living proof!!! No one could pay me to say any different. I have to ask her the name of these two vitamins she gave me to take for my migraines, I don't have them anymore so I gave the pills to a friend suffering from the same thing. But they were awesome!!! I've had migraines for years and they worked!!! And they weren't horrible tasting either!!! Now I'm just battling severe nausea!! My wonderful doctor wrote me two scripts to help, and guess what one of the side effects to these pills are----nausea!!! You guessed it!!! It's supposed to help with it, but yet it gives it to me!!! Amongst other horrible side affects!!! Doesn't make any sense to me so I refuse to take them. My wonderful sister again told me about the wonderful benefits of ginger!!!! Get some ginger tea if you are sick all the time and eat that.....or even ginger snap cookies!!! They don't have a large amount of ginger in them but they will do. The fresh tea is better!!!! Has helped alot!!!! Hope you feel better soon!!!

by nicoledraper06

Fanee1223: I would give you the same advice that I just gave someone else. I too suffered from HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE morning (all day!) sickness!!! My doctor prescribed me two different meds for it that don't help a thing but make it worse. My sister luckily is a herbalist and man, does she know her stuff!!! She told me to drink lots of ginger tea!!!! It helps alot let me tell ya!!! Also ginger snap cookies will do, not as much ginger in them but they will do the trick also. I suggest the tea though, I think it works better!!!

by nicoledraper06

Just feel icky. I didn't feel this way in my first pregnancy. Headaches, vertigo, and morning sickness. We had our first appointment Friday and everything looks great. Grateful for that but would love my energy back. No motivation to work out or practice my yoga. Come on 2nd trimester!!!!!

by brie5

i feel all of your pain, im going to have a 6 pack before i even start showing, iv been non stop all day morning sickness, PLUS mirgranes, It really isnt a fun time for me right now.. :( and im only 9 weeks!

by NikkiMB

I just had my first t/v ultrasound today and at 9 weeks I heard the heartbeat and saw the baby for the first time! It was amazing and really got me emotional. Now more than ever I just want everything to go well since having had a miscarriage my first pregnancy:( It is such a "mixed" emotional experience b/c I don't want to get too excited like I did last time. I just have to give it up to God and know that He knows what He is doing. Please pray for me and I wish all the expectant moms-to-be great wishes on their up and coming babies!

by msavalos

I'm feeling really bad right now :( I feel nauseous starting about at 4pm ending around the time I wake up :(

by LesleyH11

I am going crazy waiting for my first check up,I think I am nine weeks pregnant I took a couple home test they all read positive. I am so scared my tummy just started blowing up,and my breasts are very sore and I am not getting my period apart from those signs I get worried because i have no idea what feeling i am supposed to get when I touch my belly or what is supposed to happen inside. This waiting is killing me.What am I supposed to feel.

I am 9 weeks along- and just started the headaches. Was thinking I had avoided pregnancy symptoms--- but I think I am in for it now.

This is my first pregnancy and im so excited,i have wanted a baby forever! Im just very anxious and dont know what the best way is to handle it....

Hi.Im am 9 weeks pregnant,,3 days ago i started to have heavy bleeding, like i just was having my period,,also had very low blood pressure and fainted.Ambulance took me to emergency room, they did an ultrasound and the baby was ok,had heartbeat. The doctor said the bleeding is not from the uterus, its coming from the pelvic area. This is the 3rd day and the discharge is dark brown like at the end of the period.Still have cramps. Is there anyone experienced the same bleeding or same thing during pregnancy?Should i worry?of course my OB cant see me until monday. if anyone has any suggestions please share w me,,its my first pregnancy and freeking out. I feel lethargic, have a headache and my mouth tastes like metal alll the time..fun! but on the bright side we are having our first child,I have a wonderful hubby, lovely home and great family and friends. Am just hoping that this yucky feeling will go away soon because some days I just want to cry. and I look ridiculous in anything I wear!

"one a day" prenatals are the ONLY thing that's makes me vomit. Def get a sample of what you'd like to take before buying the whole bottle!!

by Llanos1111

we had our first visit passed monday! I am now 9weeks today! baby is fine and not in tube! i have a history of ectopic pregnacies, so praise God baby is fine!

by drea3

I lived with migraines for the past 15 years and now 9 weeks pregnant, they are actually better! Hope it continues that way. I am going to the bathroom every 2-3 hours during the night. i would be nice to sleep a full 8 hours!

by wmilas

I've just started morning sickness. With my daughter it started in week 3! Hmmm..can't help but to think boy ;]

by llbreell

I'm not running to the bathroom sick, but I feel like at any minute I could..seems its getting worse as the weeks go by instead of better.. my upset stomach only allows me to eat certain things at certain times. My tongue seems on the defense to certain textures.. and my headaches like to visit out of the blue off and on through out the day. I make my own hours at work, so that helps with not having to call off.. this is our 5th child.. 1st in 9years and I have all boys..never been so sick

by tlynnprice

I was nine weeks on Tuesday, and I have horible sinus tension and nausea morning noon and night! Not to mention I have to pee all the time. I didn't think the peeing started to pick up until later in the pregnancy. Is any one else wearing maternity clothing yet? I feel like I am bigger than what I should be....

by LBBuck

Cabbatacola... I am almost 10 weeks and my headaches are terrible! i am with you on that one. It stinks. I am trying very hard not to take anyhthing but its hard ! Good Luck

by Lccsdc

This is my second pregnancy and with my daughter I never felt all the yucky stuff i always heard other mothers say happens in the first few months but this time around i get a little nauseous and the headaches come everyday.....I'm 9 weeks and it is feeling like a life time, you see I didn't know last time until i was 15 weeks along...So all the first trimester scares are scaring me, and because i don't feel very much different aside from the fact that I'm hungry more often, is pretty scary in it's self.

by tlyork84

Im also having the headaches what I found that helps is a hot wash cloth on your head and a quite room. OB told me that ice can make it worst.

by davidkrissy4ever

Feeling fine, tender breast but no sickness or feeling sick, 8 weeks now, waiting to hear from Midwife for booking in appointment. 1st baby and had no advice or support, my doc even said folic acid wasnt necessary! Am reading plenty online though. Thank god for the internet! Cant wait for first scan so it sinks in!

by Julz49

Idk about any of you other women but i absolutely cannot sleep! But i was wondering if anyone else was having this problem?

by hrking2011

migraines are pretty normal, from what I gather. I spent 3.5 hours in the E.R. earlier this week. The dr. called it an acute migraine, although I found nothing cute about it. I had been trying to get through my day as normal but how could I with the horrendous headache. By the time I arrived at the hospital, (advise of my midwife), I had such horrible vision distortion.. my periphiral vision was non existent and I had black spots floating throughout my vision. Needless to say, it was not fun at all.. I was sent home with a prescription and told to get lots of rest.. Did I mention I have 4 kids, attend college full time and work part time.. Thank goodness I have such a wonderful hubby to allow me to get the rest I need.

by waahlaalgiidaak

Since this is my first pregnancy this is all very new. the one question though i havent been able to find an answer to is my stomach as probably grown out at least three inches now but it is soft and jiggley i was wondering if this is normal or if im just gaining like fat pounds instead of baby.

by kscott611

I am 9 weeks today, this is my 2nd pregnancy...I have been nausea on and off all day...I've thrown up 10 times in the last 2 weeks. I notice I throw up when I have absolutely NOTHING in my tummy! But the worst part about this pregnancy is I am extremely constipated. I haven't been able to poop in weeks. I started Fiber pills and eating lots of prunes and that has seemed to help a bit! Thankfully I haven't had any Migraine Head-aches...yet! I have had 5 in my life and they are NO FUN! So sorry to all of you having troubles with those on top of the nausea. Hang in there. This stage passes very fast!

by shanny1717

I have had 2-3 headaches/week since I got pregnant. Glad I'm not the only one with that problem, but I do feel your pain. Dark room, ice pack, and sleep. That's my formula. Best wishes!

Some people are telling me that we can find out the sex of the baby at our 12 weeks US...does anyone know if this is really possible or do we have to wait for our 20 week US?

i had been so dizzy, blurry vision, weak feeling for the past month. i found eating lots of small meals, and lots of protein has helped. this is the first week i'm feeling more normal. although my left nipple hurts for some weird reason... hope this passes soon.. ouch! We can make it through, go us!

by leeluu8

I have a bad headache right now, and threw up 5 times already for the morning, and it's just getting started. I've lost about 4 lbs the past 2 weeks. Had our 1st ultrasound yesterday, really cool to watch. You are not alone...

by green0522

yes headaches for the last 2 days.. aweful. Taking some Alieve to ease it so i can get through the day. Does feel better after eating something but with the nausea that isn't an easy task. Have my prenatal 2 app tomm am and get to have an ultra sound.. can't wait!

by dlstudio

Yesterday was our first doctors appointment. So excited! I go Thursday for an ultrasound to determine exactly how far along I am! Has anyone else been having excessive nausea and/or sciatica? This pregnancy is kicking my butt far worse (already!) than in my entire previous pregnancy! I sure hope the nausea starts decreasing!

by minck21

i'm 9 weeks today and feel like death...all day sickness, headaches and shoulder tension rule my world...can't wait until this goes away! i did however see and hear the heartbeat, so that was very exciting but other than that not doing so well

Dora, I to was on methadone for my son cuz of my lupus. He was born fine but cuz of the withdraws he had to stay in the nicu for a few weeks and he was sent home on phenabarbitul. This preganacy I switched to suboxone. It is so much easier for me n my baby, safer. I have a lot of concern about the health of the baby. I've lost a pregnancy, I'm 34. I am a vegan and can't eat. I'm not sure if I should go back to work as a nurse now. And I have lupus and seizures and don't take my meds anymore. I practise other methods to lower my pain and I don't take anything that is not totally neccessary. I haven't had my first doctors appt cuz we didn't have insurance. We found a.I.m. program which is a gov program that give u private insurance for a small payment.

by jessicafranke

I am almost 10 wks. First pregancy with twins. I have very bad sciatica, nausea, and have no desire to eat a thing. I've lost weight and am worried. I force myself to eat every few hrs it helps the nausea. But no food is reall appetizing.Someone said watermelon and that is one thing Icraved in the beginning that's funny. When should these feelings go away? I want to enjoy being pregnant. Any suggestions for SCIATICA? It's killer. I've tried heat.

by JNSREILLY1

I recently read that benzoyl peroxide, (typically found in acne cleansers are a no no while pregnant). Is anyone else aware of this? Or what effects, if any, they have on your pregnancy.

by mrs.sid

The thing that helped me with all day sickness is eating vegetables in the morning. I know it sounds odd, but vegetables are for one good for you and they seem to have a nice cool feeling for the tummy. They also have a lot of water in them and that helps settle tummy also.I have found that things that are cold help my sickness.

by Pahmeyeral

has anyone experienced perigestational bleeding - brown blood... im 9 weeks - feeling great... no morning sickness - my doctor said no sex, no excecise, no lifting - i have to take it easy until my next ultrasound... anyone experience the same?

by maggiedm

I haven't had migraines (yet) but I am throwing up several times a day. I found that the gummy flintstones vitamins are best for my stomach. I take them at night right before I go to sleep, but you could try to take them whenever you feel least nauseated. Just check with your doc first. (Mine told me to take 2 per day) I hope this helps. I know it isn't easy. I lost 10 lbs or so already. I totally feel for you and know what you're going through. Just pray that the second trimester will be better (usually is). Hang in there, it will be worth it! Good luck!

I went for my first sonogram today. I am 10 weeks this coming monday. The doctor said she couldn't see anything. She credited to the fact that the ultrasound machine was really old. She didnt seem alarmed or nervous about it at all...but it definitely made me a little uneasy. Anyone else have an experience like this?!

My wife has headaches every day. Is this normal? 9 weeks in

by kpeck3

Have been off work on disability for almost 4 weeks now, such bad nausea and vomiting. Currently 9 weeks in my 10th. No appetite at all for the past 3 weeks, finally starting to get it back and all i want is watermelon. Its all i eat besides saltine crackers and water. Im pretty sure my house is full of Ginger Ale, Sprite, Water, and Crackers. Finally starting to feel better this week thank god because i go back to work in 6 days, and its needed. So much stress going on. First pregnancy and I will be a single mother, the dad decided we aren't going to be together and to him that means he cant be there for the child or me at all. Then expects to have rights after its born. Call me crazy but I dont think so. I feel like my world is upside down right now. Its slowly getting better but I am so scared. I cant even go look in the baby isle because i just want to cry. He is not a good guy and i dont want him there its too stressful for me but at the same time I am SO scared of not being able to do this alone and my baby not having a father figure. Im only 22 and I feel like i wont find that person. My doctor currently doubled my dose of anti depressants. When i found out i was pregnant i got switched to ones that are safe for the baby and am still currently waiting for them to take full effect. So right now i just need to stop and breathe and tell myself everything will be okay, because if i don't I am going to fall apart. I have been holding this in and now have decided to let it all out to a bunch of strangers. Strangers I figured would understand better than anyone else would.

by kaylaerne

I have suffered from migraines most of my life and now being pregnant, it makes it a little harder, but I was able to get rid of them without pills. I see a chiropractor, I would suggest to you lovely ladies to seek out one as well.

by espensley

I am 9 wks with my second and I have never felt worse! I am completely exhausted but can't sleep for more than 5 or 6 hours at a time. I work nights and my schedule is crazy anyway but I can't sleep during the day after I have worked and when I have the night off I can't sleep either! It is getting really frustrating. On top of that I am so nauseas I feel like I could throw up any minute and I've been getting headaches for the past week. Come on second trimester! Please make me feel better!!!

by DonnieS

I've head headaches too, so Im right there with you.. Other then that though I have felt fine.. We are 9 weeks today and I hope I am one of the lucky ones not to get sick or antyhing.. Im keeping my fingers crossed but I am so excited to be Pregnant...this is our first child

by ngoff143

Definitely having a small appetite, I think I can eat more than I can, but when it comes to it, I can't get it down.

by sk8rchic109

I just feel nauseous all the time! What's worse is that I get the urge to vomit but I can't. Its as if my body doesn't want to at all, like its stopping itself from vomiting. Any advice?

I also was not keeping food down, but got fed up and went to the doctor. I got a prescription that tells the nausea center of your brain that it is not nauseated. It was a godsend, I can go to work and feel normal, I am still exhausted, but if you cant keep food down why suffer? See if the doc can help you....p.s b6 did NOT work just came right back up.

We had our first dr appt at 7 weeks...I am now 9 weeks...I have had a few headaches....and one migraine the other day which was just aweful. I feel for anyone that is going through this too....I hope everyone has a wonderful pregnancy.

by Spurzzies

I had a three-day migraine last weekend and into Monday. I have been known to get them on occasion and of course, all that is going on in my body is triggering them for sure. The best advice has already been posted: lay down in a quiet, dark room for an hour or so. Don't play with your phone or laptop or look at TV -- the lights make it worse. Best of luck.

by kwiklip

I am 9 weeks and haven't had any morning sickness. With that being said, I am EXTREMELY exhausted. it's been very bad. My boobs hurt and I know it's gross but the gas pains have been so bad and painful. I'm hoping this goes away soon. Also, my diet has been fine and i've been eating a ton...sadly.

by Midford2010

This is my third child and I havent thrown up one time! I practicallu lived in the bathroom the last two times. Maybe this is sign of a boy that we want! I did have headaches to start, but I suffer from migraines to start with. I must say that I feel 90% better than with my two daughters.

by jencastorri

Readyforbaby#2 - I have not had an appetite at all since I have been pregnant. I am in my 9th week, and I struggle to eat anything. Fruit is about the best thing I have found that I can tolerate. I haven't really been sick but a few times, but my appetite has dimiished to the point of not wanting to eat anything at all. My doctor told me just to force myself to eat, and that is what I have been doing.

by CASPERETTA

We will be 10 weeks tomorrow!! Next appt is Nov 17 and I just cant wait!!!! I could def do without being sooooooo tired.. but i think id rather be very very tired then being so sick.. thank goodness i havent thrown up yet!! Hope everyone is doing well!!! xoxo

I am nine weeks and am just now starting to get sick. Its usually in the mornings so at least its not at work. I also cant eat meat. The thought of it makes me sick and even the smell. My boyfriend is very worried that the baby isn't getting enough protein. Does anyone have any solutions?

by alexabel

Dora1313- I'm not sure about the sickle cell, but my someone in my family recently had her baby while taking methadone and the adoptive parents report nothing but a beautiful healthy baby. She is 13 months old now and is developing normally. Good luck to you with your recovery. I'm nine weeks today, and I am loving every minute of it!

by lovebeingamom87

I am 9 weeks and 1 day and wouldn't know i was pregnant if it weren't for not having my period for the last few months. No sickness, no fatigue, no headaches. Anyone else feel the same??? At 7 weeks we had an ultrasound and heard the heartbeat so i know there is something in there! I am however, already filling out my shirts and feel like i need to unbutton my jeans...is this normal at 9 weeks???

by brittneyjosh

I am 8 weeks and 2 days. Luckily I have not had to worship that porcelain bowl yet- but the nausea is def. there! I am craving food... Everything sounds good, but eating it is sometimes nerve wracking because I just don't feel 100%. I found small snacks thru-out the day are best. I tackle my grapes and raspberries, then my banana, and an apple loaded with peanut butter... Then applesauce, and wow... then it is lunch time! I am only starting to show, if I lost a 1/2" on my waste, I would be able to button my pants. I invested in a BeBand, which works for me. I only had 1 headache the other day.. it was tolerable. I used to suffer migranes about 4 or 5 years ago. I sure hope those don't come back, because I can't take my perscription for them now! Dark room, cold washcloth, QUIET, and super comfy clothes might ease the pain until you pass out from a migrane's pain! First scheduled OB appt. is in 5 days. I had an U/S the other day because of brown spotting, but at 8 weeks, it was still implantation bleeding. WOW! ALl is well, and I heard Little Dude's Heartbeat! Makes it all worthwhile.

by tristahadfield

Dora1313---im going thru a semi-similar situation. i dnt have sickle cell, but i do take suboxone which is much like methadone. i was advised not to stop taking the suboxone because the fetal withdrawls and/or my withdrawls could cause complications or even miscarriage.i did lower my dose, same as u. ive worried myself nearly to insanity about it, but ive researched alot and talked to my OB, and my primary care dr who prescribes my suboxone and they are in agreement that side effects to baby are minimal and that my baby will be well monitored and kept comfortable if/when any post birth withdrawls occur. so, even though its hard try not to agonize too much, it sounds like ur doing everything ur supposed to. only thing i might suggest is asking for a consult with a high risk OB to address ur concerns my regular OB suggested it to me and we did an initial meeting with the high risk at 7wks. i only see my OB because so far everything is normal and healthy, but the high risk dr.is in the loop and also agrees with my OB and PC. i dnt knw much about sickle cell, sorry; but i hope that what i have shared helps to at least give u some peace of mind.

by babymama223

So far being pregnant is just not agreeing with me at all! IT's always something! My head hurts to the point where I just shut down. I'm ALWAYS throwing up! And my mood swings are insane! I don't know how my guy is dealing with me at all! I mean I can barely deal with me! I want to scream and cry all the time! Now, I was takin off an anti-depresant when I found out I was preggers and I'm sure that has alot to do with these mood swings, but knowing this just doesn't change or help anything! And I must pee at least once an hour or I feel like I'm gonna pee my pants! Does it ever end!?!?!

by jody09

Really sad today, I miscarried today at 9 weeks. Good luck to all the expecting mothers. God Bless and be safe

by pjones94

We just had our first sonogram and weren't expecting to see much but it actually looks like a baby in there! Have had nausea for 4 weeks, been sick with an URI for 2 weeks, headaches started yesterday, always tired, waking up in the middle of the night to pee and breasts so tender it hurts when my husband even looks at them. Had a dream about my baby last night and I remember it is all worth it!

by brinker1783

I am nine weeks! No morning sickness, really, just some queasiness from time to time. But I am REALLY tired, peeing all the time, and cramping some. I've also had headaches, but nothing major. And I am pretty bloated. I don't know if I am "showing" yet or just getting fat because I have been really hungry - craving carbs and fruit. Not interested in meat, at all right now. I have had to buy new clothes already or just not button my pants. Is it too early to be like this? Either way, am very excited and can't wait for my first appointment next week - day before Thanksgiving!

by DMD213

Hi!! I'm 9 weeks and 2 days. Last week I had a very ligh pinkish "spotting" but it was the size of a pin head. It was very tiny. Is it normal? I'm really scared of miscarriage

Worst day of my life....went to my 9 week ultra sound and we didn't see a heartbeat this time and it hadn't grown since we last did an ultra sound at week 7. I am devastated. We will do another ultra sound on Tuesdays, but I'm not hopeful. It took me 3.5 years to get pregnant....and now this. Dear Lord I don't have the strength for this. Any one have any advice for crippling sadness?

by Miraclebabymomma

Been TTC for over 3 years, multiple miscarriages now 9 weeks pregnant and was feeling pregnant until this am, woke up without tender breasts and noticed the white discharge is much less, no cramping or bleeding but fearful baby has stopped growing. Has anyone experienced this?

I've been feeling pretty good aside from feeling tired so often. I've had some nausea here and there but it is manageable with a snack. Today I had my first embarrassing moment...the school superintendent was holding a meeting for our staff this morning (about 25 of us) and talking about plans for the district. All of a sudden, I felt really hot and began to see stars. I knew I had to get out of there but would have to get up in front of everyone and, rudely, leave his meeting. Out of options, I had to leave the meeting. Only a few ladies know I am pregnant and said it just appeared as though I had to leave to help a student. Needless to say, I think I am going to share my news with my boss today!

by jmuha17

We had our first visit to the doctor yesterday. My husband wanted to be with me in the room and the only spot for him in the tiny room was right at the end of the stirrups! What an eye opening experience! Thankfully he was not too phased. :) Anyway, no sickness, just waves of "maybe I should eat" before I take any vitimins....and I love naps. All commercials on TV make me cry, but other than that I am just my "normal" self. The ladies at work already figured it out, so I had to tell my boss. So much for keeping it under wraps for another month!

by Brobs

How to reduce the nausea?? I still vomiting after eating.

by dianamonica_t

Just had our first doctor appointment! We are due July 10th!! We heard the babies heartbeat and got ultrasound pics! Could not be happier!

by boof913

Based on the first day of my last period I am 9 weeks 3 days but going my ultrasound I am 9 weeks today. I'M CONFUSED I don't know which I should use to count. : (

by joelissasmom

WOW...I guess I am considerably luck regarding the "early pregnancy symptoms" because so far FINGERS CROSSED-I've had no morning/day sickness, no migraines (which I am prone to anyway due to allergies), not a lot of weight gain and I feel GREAT...well 90% of the time. My irritability is OUT OF CONTROL and I could cry at the "thought" of something...anything really; my boobs are VERY sore (all the time) and I pee every 30 sec it feels like...however, this is my first pregnancy and I am LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!! :)

by walshrhonda

Had our first ultra sound at 7w3d and say the babies heartbeat!! SO COOL....now i'm 9w 3d and can't seem to eat anything. Can't even keep down water or saltine crackers...everyone tells me the early signs of nausea are a good sign for having a girl!! :-D i sure do hope so. Next apt on Dec. 17th...can't wait to hear the heartbeat this time! PS:: to all the mommies on here who have shared their stories of miscarriage/ no hearbeat/etc., i am truly sorry and will pray for you and your family's pain

by Soji

Starting to get some of my energy back. I was able to do my Zumba class yesterday at the gym. This is the first full workout I have been able to do since I found out I was pregnant. I was able to keep up better than some of the non-pregnant women in the class. Slowly getting back to being me :-). Can't let this pregnancy keep me depressed!

by arielneely

I'm 9 weeks and I feel okay. The last few weeks I've had morning sickness (only in the morning thank God!) and very sore breasts but besides that, nothing. I don't have the urge to pee a lot and I'm not showing at all. I have set to hear the heartbeat. I am so excited though! My DD is July 13th 2011! Wish me luck ladies!

by tiaschnell

I get migraines and was hoping that with pregnancy I wouldn't experience them but I keep getting them :( The first few weeks were really bad, I was getting a migraine almost every day. I had a really bad one this past weekend that lasted for 2 days but they are less frequent. Since I can't take my medicine I've found that a small caffeinated beverage and sleep helps.

by bmm238

So far pregnancy for me is not at all what i expected. from naesia to complete loss of appetite, i am starting to feel like an alien in my own body! approaching my tenth week if a few days and i hope that it gets better. im def. starting to show even though im not gaining any weight, my shirts and jeans are feeling more snug. also does anyone feel like they've been doing 500 situps a day! like a tight feeling in the abdomen? well that's how i feel. dont kno it its normal...then again what is normal at this point lol!!!

by bellahoney07xoxo

is everybody commenting on this 9 weeks? because i have only had one bad headach that i can remember and have felt off and on nauseua maybe every few days or so. but nothing major yet.. does this mean i am skipping these symptoms or do i have it coming??

by Tracylynn821

Readyforbaby#2: I am in the same boat as you. Ever since I got pregnant my appetite has decreased dramatically. I get so hungry and then when I get the food in front of me, my appetite goes away and I get nauseous again. I know how you are feeling. I've been living off of jello and applesauce.

by share88

I have been sick all day, but today I tried the motion sickness wrist bands and I feel pretty good. No nausea or vomiting today!

by katierussell30

Yes, I have migraines pretty frequently know like every other day.

by ChWillis

whats everyone's weight gain looked like? i'm afraid to step on the scale. but i have just about to not fit in my work pants anymore...

by McBaby1

tnkp1nk96 & Blessed: I actually have had migraines similar to what you have described my entire life. It usually starts by my vision going spotty, and I just plain feel WEIRD. Then my hands, and sometimes my lips and face, go numb. Then after a few minutes, I get nausea, then a rip-roaring migraine. I have found that these are due to abrupt changes in blood pressure or blood sugar levels, which get more extreme in pregnancy. Especially in this stage of the pregnancy, when your body is adjusting to so many hormones and changes. It is very easy for your blood pressure to severely fluctuate right now, as your body's blood flow is changing to allow blood to go to the baby. To ensure stable blood pressure and blood sugar, absolutely DO NOT SKIP MEALS. We are the type of mommys that need to eat some crackers before getting out of bed. Try to eat something small every 2 hours, and sit up from laying before standing, and stand slowly. Avoid standing for long periods of time- take a 10 minutes rest break and put your feet up every 2 hours to avoid blood pooling in your lower limbs. You really need to get a handle on it now, because in a few weeks, dizzy spells and headaches will get worse. If none of these things help, you need to speak with your OBGYN about getting on a preventative migraine medication such as Topamax. BUT NEVER TAKE ANYTHING, INCLUDING TYLENOL, WITHOUT ASKING YOUR DOCTOR FIRST. He is considered your general physician right now, and he rules your body. He really does know best, so LISTEN to what he says, not just what we say. Don't ignore a problem just because it's a common problem- there still may be a solution for you. And we don't want you driving a car or being on a ladder or something silly, and having a spell and crashing or falling- if it's as bad as mine can be, you need to take action. Those migraines can leave you ill and weak for a very long time, trust me.

by flakitapr

Funny, I've been craving watermelon too - and canteloupe and grapes. Nausea subsided last week, and my appetite is here with a vengeance :)

by lindsaybnelson

Ready4baby#2 ~ Its funny you say that the one big thing I have been craving are apples! They're yet to upset my stomach, so apples is what Ill stick with! :)

by Unchie12

i dont really have much of an appetite girls :( is this happening to anyone else... i drink plenty fluids and make sure i take my prenatals everyday.. if i force myself to eat i wind up hurling it up.. help!!!

by akitkatp

Had our first ultra sound ..heard the heartbeat what a great moment! I'm getting frequent headaches, my Dr. said it can be caused by dehydration, which my hemoglobin is showing that i am dehydrated. drinking lots more now, which is hard when ya have something already pressing on your bladder..but so very fortunate :)

by luckybrunette23

This is my fourth, and wow is this pregnancy different from the others! I am exhausted, everything smells, and I had constant nausea. Feeling a little better this week, just can't eat very much at once, which makes my poor hubby irritated at dinner. I eat less than kids now. Attempting to eat a ceasar salad now. Trying to drink lots of water, but gosh I feel like I am going to start floating! Get to see the baby in 2 more weeks! Cannot wait to see it. In spite of the very prominent positive pregnancy tests, it still feels a little unreal. Hope every starts to feel better soon! It's a new year!

Cabbatacola:: I am 3rd time mom & 8wks 3days, I have been having headaches 24/7 since before I took the HPT :( It's one of those things, but in the end, when you see that cute lil face all the headaches & other discomforts & pain is all worth it!! :)

by jesthuney

I am just over nine weeks pregnant and am having some cramping.. Did/ does anyone else have cramping? Is it normal? I am going for my first prenatal appointment tomorrow so I will ask the doctor then, but I just wanted to pick your brains, too.

by kkasper13

McBaby- I am worried about my weight gain, too. I think I have gained around 6-8 pounds but only grew half an inch in my waist. Some of my clothes are starting to get tight as well. Where is everyone else with weight gain?

by kkasper13

I found something that is completely safe for the baby and helps cure (for the most part) nausea.Organic Caffiene Free Ginger Tea. After the first cup I felt alot better and was actually able to eat something and not gagg or get sick after:) Love this stuff.

by kristy9203

Got my first ultra-sound yesterday! It was awsome! the baby's heartbeat was 160 bpm, and it looked like a little bean!. I am gonna call it a her from now on cause I am convinced it is a gir. My B/f cried when he heard the heartbeat awww! And as far as headaches I had some pretty presistant ones too, it has something to do with your hormones. It is suppose to be an old wives' tell of having a girl.

by heatheragsdale

Just had our first ultrasound today! I don't think I have been so happy since our wedding day. We got to see the heart beat and that was the best part. I never had seen anything so amazing. I definitely feel better seeing that the baby is actually there. Though I think all this naseua and fatigue have proved that something is going on! Due date is now Aug 11th!!!! Can't wait to meet baby!!!

by jaredandjenny

I am 9 weeks today and all I can or want to wear is yoga pants. They're comfy and don't press on my stomach like my old jeans do. And they make my butt look great! lol My nausea is definitely subsiding but I am now getting annoying little headaches. Taking tylenol makes me gag and I have to concentrate and breathe steadily in order to keep it down but usually it works. Sometimes I just have to eat bc they are hunger headaches. But nonetheless, still super excited to be prego, just got married 2 days ago also! Gonna be a fantastic year!

by Pradakiss22

I am 9 weeks, and have the worst gas imaginable! I burp all day long! I swear my husband must think I've turned into a flatulent monster. I've never had so much gas in my life.

by melindajclarke

I haven't felt any cravings, or nausea since falling pregnant. The only thing I felt was sleepy in the first few weeks, but now I'm 9 weeks & don't feel anything. Sometimes i panic that there is no baby, but I look at the picture & feel better.Goodluck to all you mommies

Just turned 9 weeks today and had my first episode of morning sickness! I hsve been nauseous for the past couple weeks but never actually vomited. Why would that be starting now?

Im 9 weeks along..went to Dr. last week and went throught paperwork mostly and they gave me prenatal vitamins..but I can't keep the food down or the vitamin down when taking the prenatal vitamins. I feel soo much better when taking flintstones! Anyone else have this?!?

by mdekor01

Has anyone else had mood swings that make you annoyed by everyone around you? i have never felt this way before. Also i think i might also be suffering from depression. any advice?

by WendyM13

I am 8 weeks and 2 days and feeling nauseas off and on daily. I think it is mostly due to the vitamins, so I have started taking them right after lunch and that seems to help. No headaches so far. We have our first Dr. visit next week I'm so excited!

by 1288jcf

I have migranies that last for days! Can't find anything that helps, my husband rubs the back of my neck and into my hairline, decreases my headaches but they dont go completely away.

by babynelson831

I normally get migraines and haven;t had one in 9 weeks! But the nausea is getting pretty bad... 3 more weeks

My pregnancy is so uncomfortable. I toss and turn all night. In fact i havent had a full night sleep for about a month and a half and I'm only 2 months. I have 3 boys and never experienced this. Could this mean i might have a girl or is this normal so early in pregnancy??

by villarc2011

Not really feeling pregnant@ 9 weeks, 3 days. Breast soreness has gone away, and only occasional nausea (probably attributable to the Z-Pack), and an inability to button my pants remains. I cramp a few times a day, but I have for weeks...no bleeding though. Next appointment w/the midwives is next Tuesday. Wondering if I have any reason to worry...

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and have had very bad nausea and not wanting to eat much. My husband gets worried if I don't eat. I do try to eat though out the day but at night is when i feel like i'm not hungry. When I was 6 weeks I had no motivation and I would just lay on the couch...my house was such a mess. but the past week or so i've been starting feel more motivated.

by tec0923

i am nine weeks and feel tired all the time my job is stressful and i usually get out and have to go back in 8 hours later any recomendations on how to deal with this

by palma08

I am now 9 weeks. I take my prenatals right before I go to sleep at night. Then eat as soon as I can once I wake up. As long as I eat every couple hours and keep food in my tummy I dont feel sick. Exhaustion has been my big thing. I am in pretty good shape, but doing anything these days wears me out quick and I'm usually in bed by about 8:30...I feel like an old lady haha

by kcollins9

I am nine weeks pregnant and could not be happier. I love the morning sickness and always feeling exhausted, even the headaches. I know it sounds crazy but I do. This is our first child, and I am not showing yet, so I love at least FEELING pregnant. I think we need to have a more positive outlook on our pregnancy (and symptoms), and keep what is really important in mind...WE ARE PREGNANT!!!! yay!

by vwsfy6

Hey moms-to-be. I am 9 weeks tomorrow, I haven't thrown up at all but experiencing a lot of nausea. I've realized one thing that helps tremedously...do not let yourself get terribly hungry, eat some fruit immediately when you wake up and keep eating little snacks throughout the day. An hour or two after you eat a meal..eat another little snack. This seemed to help me soo much. I work in a very busy atmosphere and can't afford to miss any work just yet. Hope this helps!

by jodilater

I feel bad just about all day every day! I haven't thrown up but have no appetite and feel quesy all the time. Can't wait for this to pass!

by jenniej0125

I am 9 weeks tomarrow and i havent had morning sick or anythink knock on wood its been good.

by MommaAlleycat

I had migraines really bad last week and had acupuncture done, it actually helped me. The other thing that helped was laying in a dark and quiet room for an hour.

by chewnboo

yeah headaches have haunted me since I found out I was pregnant. And it doesn't help that I have bad allergies and I'm afraid to take anything.. at least now since I'm still in the first trimester. I'm 9 1/2 weeks now, so almost there!

by laurie10601

I'm 9 weeks and I was in a constant state of nausea for the first 6 weeks then started throwing up. It's not everyday, but the nausea is worse. A lot of belching after I eat and with each one I feel like I might throw up. ALso, killer heartburn at night (TUMS does nothing). I also am sooooo tired. Dragging me feet all the time. No interest in doing housework. My husband has been great, really stepped up and is taking care of everything. I haven't washed a dish in weeks!. I feel kinda down and I read you can feel a disconnect from your body in the beginning which is true. THe weather doesn't help. All this snow and not being able to go out bc the roads are always so bad, every week is another snow storm. Can't wait for spring, feeling better, getting my appetite back, showing my little pregnant belly a bit and getting some sunshine. I must admit i'm a little miserable right now but know it will be ok

by nickybride10

I am 9wks pregnant and have a lot of cramping. It doesn't hurt its just very uncomfortable. This is my first pregnancy so I of course I'm worried. I have read that it's usually just the ligaments in your uterus stretching. I called my sister and she said as long as i'm not bleeding or fainting everything should be fine. Is anyone else having problems with cramping. I looked up info on ectopic pregnancies and misscarriages, but everyone keeps reassuring me that by 9wks if it was ectopic I would know and would be in serious pain same with a misscarriage. I guess Im just having the first time mama worries. my first ultrasound is next tuesday Feb 22 I wil feel much more at eae when I get to see the little one.

by Tink087

cabbatacola, I've def been having headaches like almost every day... as well as lower back pain every day. This is our first pregnancy and I'm 9 weeks today! Hang in there! I am 9 weeks and have been feeling pretty well. I have noticed some food aversions and lack of appetite, the occasional nausea and lot's of fatigue. I've lost 5 lbs since I first became pregnant, not too concerned as I was overweight to begin with and I am now eating very healthy.

by chanelB05

My husband is going nuts. I am nauseas ALL the time. I am having food aversions to EVERYTHING. Anything and everything looks disgusting. I am not sure what to do about it. In addition, my low back is killing me....All of this at just 9 weeks! UGH!

by ChristieLynn2

YAY!! After weeks of calling and leaving messages and major frustration, I have my first prenatal appointment scheduled!! I'm excited!

by gilby92

I haven't had any morning sickness. I have had migraines and headaches, which I was having before I got pregnant...but to deal with them without medication is a S.O.B. Other than being tired and some sinus issues and just feeling pretty crappy most of the day...I'M GREAT...lol

by Babychank

To everyone who has been experiencing "all day" sickness: I was having HORRIBLE nausea and no appetite that was getting worse and worse. I had continued exercising as much as I could because for awhile I was feeling better. But things just got worse and worse... I finally realized that I was dehydrated (after only peeing twice one day... and not much either time!) and started drinking more water (which is hard to get down) and Gatorade. I can't tell you how much better I feel. Still a little nausea... and my sense of smell is so ridiculous right now so that makes things worse, BUT I am able to work and even play a little like a normal human being! I hope that can help someone else!!!

by mcwalsh

I'm debating whether to get the nuchal translucency ultrasound. My doctor isn't really recommending it, she is just putting it out there as an option. Can any of you provide your thoughts on this? Reasons why or why not you chose to have this done?

by gapgal4475

This has been a world-wind of a week. I found out at my first official OB appointment that I conceived twins! I am nine weeks along and the tech told me that I am like carrying fraternals. Which is right in line with my genetics; my grandfather and all his siblings were fraternal twins! Any other multiple moms out there?

Im 5 weeks amd When I was prego with my first child I exerienced migraines for days also.. I was prescribed category 3 meds. Tylenol with Codine. It made me sleepy however when I woke the migraines were still there. Not worth the Risk! Pregnancy is totally hormonal.. No need to interferre, They call it the present because its a gift. My prenatals gave me horrible migraines that kept me in bed in the dark for a week. I missed taking them for 2 days and the migraine stopped. Took my vitamin again, and by noon the next day the migraine was back. I'm taking chewable kids vitamins for now, and feeling SO much better!

by TeresaJWBailey

Hey Everyone! This is my first post and I'm 9 weeks today with my first baby...YaY!. I have my doctors appointment tomorrow and am experiencing the headaches as well. I'm a major caffeine drinker and have cut it all off, so I'm assuming that's why. I haven't experienced any morning sickness (knock on wood) . I'm always so tired, pee every second and have huge sore boobs :). I guess that's not too bad! Good luck to everyone!!

Freaking out! I got the list on what to take and saw both drugs listed on Mucinex DM... so I picked it up... I just read that you should only be taking Mucinex and not DM! I go for my second visit on 3/4... hoping for another ultrasound to know I still have a little pitter patter going inside the "olive" - I will update and let you know. I only took 8 pills and feel alot better with this crawling crud that has been going around.

by Snugit

10 weeks tomorrow and I'm huge! I thought that you weren't supposed to "pop" until 5 or 6 months! I think most of it is bloating but I can definitely see a bump. My first ultrasound is coming up this Saturday... can't wait to see that heart beating.

by Prilly17

If i am 9 weeks so what would that put me at in months.

by bellbritney

Phew... Everything is good! Just looking forward for the next three weeks to whip right by so the Second Trimester can beging. I do have some discharge which is common... some times clear, yellow tinge, clear and then light brown. It is from your lining stretching. It is not dark red like a period. So I am just relaxing today. Good Luck everyone.

by Snugit

Yes ladies, I too have had some headaches, often... tons of ICE water with lemon and a tylenol seem to help... Im at 9 weeks as well, and feeling a little more awake than previous weeks! Nausea from time to time, esp in the middle of a meal, and I learned if im not drinking H20 throughout the day, I get little pains in my lower abdomen, round ligament pain... drink drink drink! Good luck ladies! Congrats on week 9! WHOOP WHOOP!

by MBDbaby

I've got no appetite, and no energy. But we did get to see the little bean today! Healthy heart, they say I'm 9 weeks 5 days!

by abcsteed

I can barely get out of bed, constantly feeling nauseated all day, food aversions so bad I can't cook and haven't slept a full night since just before I found out I was pregnant. I cannot wait for the first trimester to be over with!

by sweet_lilly_luna@yahoo.com

I am 9 weeks, and just had our first doctors visit. It was so incredible. I wasn't expecting the ultrasound to look like a baby...but it did! You could see the head and the arm buds and leg buds...and the little heart just beating away. Made things a lot more real. The peeing in the middle of the night is also making it real...real annoying. LOL.

by egrey20

readyforbaby#2- I really haven't had an appetite either expect for fruit and vegtables. Watermelon being my favorite with oranges next....

by lbenes18

i'm a little confused. i had an ultrasound a week ago and i was told i was 7 weeks, but we heard the heartbeat. does this mean i am further along or does the heart beat come that early, just that women don't usually have ultrasounds that early?

by TheFragile

I got my ultrasound today! saw the heartbeat too. but im doing well. exercise helps alot!

by Aleeisha

For the first few weeks i only wanted fruits...my appetite has picked up a lil bit...but when im nauseous i eat saltines n drink ginger ale plain potato chips help too.

by cainandashlynsmama

Wow, it's so nice to know that everything I'm experiencing is quite similar to everyone else. Very little appetite most days, or times of absolutely starving, headaches (which I've found can be tied to low blood sugar), constant fatigue....oh the joys of pregnancy!! At least we can all take comfort in knowing there is a little blessing of joy that makes this all worth it!! (and to whomever is craving fruit you're not alone!! That's been one of my cravings as well!)

by JerseygirlLC

I have also been experiencing no appetite. . . have actually lost weight since I have became pregnant; also only able to eat fruit. . .and the headaches and hip aches are never ending. . . hoping that it does get better like they say by the 3 months <3>

Should I be worried? I'm nine weeks and was only miserable with morning sickness for about 2 weeks, and that was over 2 weeks ago! I'm not sick, constipated, no particular cravings (although I am hungry ALL THE TIME) and my boobs don't even hurt that bad anymore! Shouldn't I be suffering more? I haven't even gained a pound after what I lost during the period of sickness... I have an appt next week but am now scared that there's nothing growin on in there :(

by syunker03

I have NO appetite b/c everything sounds GROSS. Except hot dogs/coneys. I've been craving those.

by JayLei85

had a few scatter days with a bit of nausea but other than that I feel so good its scary. yes, boobs are sore and i did feel some cramping around week 6 (dr says its teh uterus stretching) but nothing even to complain about. perhaps teh headaches the last few days werent coincidence but have subsided now. what a ride. im too excited to be complain, its all wonderful and I cant wait to see what happens next!

by leahnb

I work at a chriopractic office, and let me tell you, being adjusted helps SOOOOO much!! When you get headaches (even when you aren't prego) it usually has to do with the top two bones of your spine being out of alignment. That puts pressure on the nervous system, and all the nerves trying to send messages to heal and take care of the body (i.e. relieve that headache!) don't get communicated how they should. Chiropractic is wonderful to help with low back pain and such too! Very health, very good for you and baby! I have been extremely lucky that about the only symptoms I'm having is sore boobs, and headaches and I'm 9 weeks today. I honestly really attribute being adjusted helping enormously with the headaches!! Give it a try, hope that helps :)

by brennalee22

So...no headaches for me but NAUSEA has been awful! I pretty much range from a little queasy to very nauseous all day. Some things that actually have helped though, B6 in the morning, mettamucil capsules twice a day to keep the constipation under control and 1/2 unisom tablet at night (all suggestions from my doctor) that at least help me get through the day! Hope this helps and if anyone has other suggestions I'd love to hear!

cabbatacola i'm in the same boat as you, i went to my PCP on thursday because i sufferd from migraines before pregnancy and idk what to do about it, she was a complete moron and perscribed me something totally unsafe so i went to the ER to see a real doctor, she hooked me up to an IV and about 30 min later i was feeling much better, only to find out once the fluids ran out so didnt the relief of my headache..... all you can do is rest, cold compress on ur forehead, and talk to your OBGYN about ginger prducts, i didnt use them but a few of my friends who have babies told me to try it, u jus take ginger and put it in hot water, like tea, and it is suposed to help.... best news i got was that after the first trimester they seem to subside.... i still have my headache, but i've just been dealing with it..... good luck and best wishes !!!

by ksergi727

I think I have a tummy bug :( I've had MS for 4 weeks now, but yesterday I had a throw up fest. I can't drink/eat anything but ice chips are helping. Hope you ladies feel better soon.

I am 9 weeks pregnant now, First time pregnancy and I have been sick as a dog since my 5th week, Im having unmanageable back pains, and migraines that make me want to lay down till the sun goes down. Ive also been vomiting consistently. i've had no cravings, and the super human nose senses have been driving me insane. Ive tried to get with a doctor but they have told me they are full and cant see me till the first of next month. I just keep reminding myself that it's all for the baby

I just keep reminding myself that it's all for the baby

by ruthdeal

So I have not had my first ultrasound yet (military hospitals wait until you are 12 weeks) but my boss at work and my husband have both mentioned that I look like I am showing already and I do have a hard small belly out front like all of the sudden. Every blog I read says that most women do not start showing until they are like 18-20 weeks so I am wondering if maybe this means multiples.... anyone else already had to pull out the fat jeans and blousey dresses??? At this rate I won't be able to stand upright by the time my due date rolls around.

by michaela724

Had first ultrasound for baby #2 last week, got to see the heartbeat and actual size... So small!!! Very Excited! Only nervous about how my two year old daughter will take the new change!?

by robluvsme_ivy

not many headaches only 1 migrain in the last 9 weeks i get them about once a month. I have a pretty big lack of appetite and breakfast foods make me gag i only want hot dinner foods when i do get hungry.

by Cassiemeru

9 weeks today with baby # 2 and I feel like the my morning sickness just keeps getting worse! It was never this bad with my first pregnancy! And I feel 10x more exhausted! I hope these feelings go away soon so I can enjoy the rest of my pregnancy!

by kelseymcp

Had my first apointment two weeks ago and the first ultrasound is this coming Monday! I am 9 weeks exactly today! Very constipated though!! I'm stressing about everything it seems! Going to relax this weekend and look forward to the unltrasound. We are telling my parents and my boyfriend's kids next weekend!

by phelpsam

I'm 9 weeks today and feeling fine so far. No complaints at all except I'm still pretty tired (though not as tired as the last couple weeks!) and my boobs are a little tender. My appetite is completely normal except chicken breasts make me want to hurl (normally one of my favourite foods). I wouldn't even know I was pregnant except that I'm starting to feel a little bigger - not showing to anyone else, but I feel bloated!

by snowgirl0429

With my first baby, a girl, i felt as if i weren't pregnant. She is now 10. With my last baby, who is almost 2, a boy, I was sick ALL day, every day. And not just the feeling of nausea, but vomiting. It lasted to my 16th week. I did get a medication to help, but it made me sooooo tired. I am now 9 weeks pregnant and have had nausea and vomiting since my 4th week. More severe than the last. I have been doing some reading on it. I did find there is a acupuncture bracelet you can wear that helps motion sickness and known to help nausea in pregnancy. I am gonna give it a try. All I can find to help me is LOTS of rest. Once the nausea starts, I lay down on the couch. My daughter and husband have been helpful with the baby so I can rest. My nausea has become more consistent with time of day, which if after i leave work. By that time i am exhausted. Tiredness triggers nausea. Chewing gum for me seems to help at work when i do feel sick. And the only thing i can keep down is sprite. which cold carbonated drinks are recommended. as well as sports drinks to replace electrolytes lost by dehydration. I hope this has helped. Just eat what sounds good to you at the time. If nothing, just stay hydrated, the colder the drink the more likely it will stay down. I love my lime Gatorade. And rest rest rest! headaches and migraines are caused from the hormonal changes. bear with them, they tend to get much better.

I'm feeling amazing...and it has me worried. I had an ectopic in November and am paranoid something's going to go wrong. I had major fatigue and sore breasts for a copule weeks & only a little morning sickness twice and now I don't feel anything. Has/is anyone else going through this? My next follow up isn't unti May 5th (12 weeks 5 days) and it's going to be the longest 4 weeks waiting to hear that everything's okay (hopefully).

I went for my first ultasound last week at 9 weeks, my OB called me Friday and told me I have a septum bicorniate uterus. She seemed concerned and is having me come back this week for another ultrasound. Anyone know anything about this??

I used to get migrains before getting pregnant, as well as other family members who have had them way worse than I. However for the few yrs that I did suffer something that would help was getting this bean-bag type pillow, which I think was filled with oatmeal or buckwheat and it was mae to be put in the microwave, when i was heated up it emitted lavender oil scent, acting as aromatherapy. Placing the warm pillow on the back of my neck or across my eyes and laying in a dark room made a world of difference. Aside from having to buy a special pillow you can geet the same effect with a wet cloth, unfortunately it doesnt stay hot very long. Also someone elses advice on resisting the urge to cry is also crucial.. good luck all!

by kcdc6211

I am nine weeks and have no morning sickness at all. No appetite at all really. It is very hard to try to find something to eat. Fruit is good. I am wondering where do I purchase a maternity bra? The only bra's I have found are nursing ones?

by Jillylauk

I've been getting headaches as well. Nothing seems to help except lots of water and a nap. There is a small pill the doctor can give you that dissolves on your tongue for the nausea. I haven't tried it but one of my co-workers has, she says it knocks it out in 5-10 minutes and it's safe for the baby:-)

by MrsMic125

I am almost 10 weeks and am feeling a little "fat" already. anyone else showing already so I can say its Baby or am I just getting fat?

by tab129

well i wanna say i am aproximately 9 wks prego and have my first visit on May9th and well i often get these headaches too but then i ay down and take a nap and well they usually go away! ive felt alittle nauseous but no morning sickness yet Thank God!

by roxyguzman

Ready4baby#2. We're expecting our first and I've had the same thing. I am not hungry alot but I LOVE fruit! Citrus fruit has been my fav. Can't get enough pineapple.

by Jessica Cooper

Hi ladies! I just had my first appointment and will be 9 weeks tomorrow! I am having serious issues with headaches and vision problems. My Dr suggested seeing and ophthalmologist not an optometrist. She said it's quite common that the surge of hormones cause headaches and vision issues! Other than this I've been truly blessed with no morning sickness!

by Lynnie814

I am always sick ugh! i wish i could do something other then lay down from being sick . and i am a cry baby all i do i cry

by momof22008

I am 9 weeks, and bi polar. Last 3 weeks havebeen a nightmare with going off of meds.. Hard to tell if sick from pregnancy or med discontiuation :( My struggle now is sinus' they are so full, and every time I get sick, it feels like the sinues' want to burst through my face.. is this normal?? Constant stuffiness and nasal drip...I even bought a humidifier, it has not helped much..

by babyharmon1205

It absolutely is killing me! This nausea is the absolute worst. I can hardly eat, even looking at food makes me sick to my stomach! what can I do? I didn't experience this with my daughter. Ginger ale and crackers leave a funny after-taste that makes me more nauseated. I know I have to eat for the baby, but what?

by MsKslade25

Yes I have also had some really bad headaches. My ob said I could take tylenol just regular strength.

by JESSBANKERJ

I think maybe I would be much more happy and smiling if I was not constantly sick with headaches nausea and sinus issues at the same time. Not to mention the constant aches in my butt cheek. I will only hope that the next trimester is full of wonderful times.

by Jerzee1974

when found out i was pregnant my breast started to hurt so bad is that normal or is that some thing bad

by jasckson

Im 9 weeks and 4 days. Besides having the worst head cold I am throwing up like a crazy person! Everyday is different but today is a REALLY bad day! one thing Ive noticed is that I havent had soare boobs yet tho.. weird!

by OurJellybean

I haven't gone for my first ultrasound yet. I'm really excited. What should I expect?

by ninaplusone

I'm feeling pretty blessed after reading all of the posts. I've been feeling pretty good most of the time. However, over the last week or so I've started feeling extremely tired.

by robynolivia

Headaches, nausea, dizziness, sore breasts...I've got it all- didn't have any with my first pregnancy, maybe a sign of a girl this time around? All of you have great ideas for helping the symptoms.

Week 9 woo hoo! Hubby and I have been trying for almost two years with one miscarriage last June so we are thrilled! We went to a fertility specialist starting in January and my second round of Clomid was the trick. I am done with the specialist now and just seeing my OB every four weeks which will be weird, no more picking and prodding and weekly ultrasounds. Baby's last heartbeat Friday was 161 and right on track! I am exhausted and down to my one cup of coffee a day but I am dragging and have little energy. Knock on wood, no morning sickness really but I do get dizzy if I stand up too fast and I need bigger jeans, lol. Baby likes Italian food!

by MrsSholly

I used to get migraines all the time growing up!! The trick we found to help were candles that smelled like granny smith apples. If you can find them and they really smell like the apples, stock up!! I'd take a damp, cool rag and put it on the back of my neck and lay down with the curtains drawn, and try to make myself fall asleep. I almost always felt better afterwards!!

by sarao89

I am nine weeks pregnant and feeling soooooo tired! It's hard to make it through the whole day of work! Also, have been feeling sick ALL day since week six. I am slowly starting to get my appetite back. Can't wait for week 12! I hope it gets better!

by tsimmons20

I have had no morning sickness with any of my 3 preg. But I have experienced migraine headaches, if they continue your OB can prescribe u a med ok to take while prego. I had to have prescriptions with both of my 2, this preg now so far tyl. takes care of them

by parkebrayden

Waiting for a call back from the dr to see when we'll have the first visit/ultrasound. can't hardly wait!!!

by lisac08

Have had indigestion for the last three weeks wasn't sure what I had ate. My BFF suggested I take a test and it was +ve. I have taken another with the same result. Scheduled an appointment for tomorrow so that I can have a positive sign. Really gassy and lots of nausea. Still in denial but hobby is all excited.

by trudyjoon

I found my ALL DAY sickness savior!! My OB recommended vit B6 and a half tablet of Unisom (the "doxy" kind, not the "Diphen" kind)...and after 3 days of it 3xd, I can FINALLY work without vomiting!! YEAH!

by BethKeener

My throat is KILLING ME! I've now had allergies/sinus congestion since the end of April... the worst part is that my throat is killing me! Other than warm salt water anyone have any idea?

I feel great week 9! My nausea has gone away finally! This is the first day I've gotten house work done, laundry and cleaning. I'm getting my appetite back and am enjoying cooked foods. Still have a hard time liking the veggies, even though I use to be a vegetarian! I think those taste buds will come back soon. I can't wait to go to the Dr. in 3 weeks to hear the heartbeat.

by NiciCola

Are you starting to show yet? My belly looks really round. I have a bump. I'm not complaining, it seems SO early to show this much.

by momahawkins

by shycare

My Morning Sickness is lasting all day. Even though the Doctor gave me something to help with it. It just comes on so fast... ugh!

by ljboas

Hopefully will get my scan sometime soon. Only9 weeks and 5 days pregnant, according to the due date calendars anyway! The morning sickness is terrible, everyday I either feel sick or am sick! AND I'm losing weight instead of putting it on! What is that about?!

by izabuff

On Friday I woke up with a Stiff neck which then led to a tension headache for the following 2 days. So I feel your pain. I just had to wiat it out. I relaxed as much as possible. I feel a whole lot better today.

by whoknowswhat

look into seeing a Chiropractor. Chiropractic is WONDERFUL for expectant moms! I work for a Chiro and I get daily adjustments. My headaches are gone and my lower back pain is soooo much better!!!!

by JenniferSJones

I'm 9 weeks today and I am exhausted and neausa all day, i know it will be worth it but man am I ready for Jan already.

by blandbaby2012

9 weeks and 6 days today! My husband and I went to the Dr. yesterday for the first time and got to see the heartbeat! It was amazing. However, today I had some spotting. Super dark brown so I called the Dr. and the asked me to come in for some blood work to check my hormones. Hopefully I will find out tomorrow that everything is okay!

by sunnycsmith

Headaches/migraines - try heating a wheaty bag in the microwave and placing on the head/neck. I find it most effective placing from front, just above the forehead, to back, with a lump in the nape of the neck, but move it around a see what works for you. Best of luck.

by tigercub483

9 weeks already..I am happy to report that I am feeling great! No sickness just a little tired some days. I hope it will stay that way:-)

by mamatobaby

Ah, pregnancy! After trying over two years to conceive, we're finally pregnant. I'm exhausted, nauseous, bloated, and incredibly, overwhelmingly happy! I tend to be a walking plague anyway, so I'm fully expecting all the terrible pregnancy symptoms...the nausea was so bad that they had to give me meds for it. It's definitely interesting!

by magentawarped

I haven't had any morning sickness, I'm nine weeks and I don't feel pregnant. I am paranoid that something is wrong. Has anyone else had a pregnancy like this?

by SamanthaKG86

@SamanthaKG86 - I know it's easier said than done, but I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. I was talking with my friends yesterday about their pregnancies, and one said that she only got sick maybe three times total through the entire time. My mother had also told me that she doesn't remember having any issues with morning sickness with either me or my sister. Some women are just luckier than others...sit back and enjoy the lack of nausea!

by magentawarped

I got preg in Nov 2010 miscarried in Feb2011 really bad headaches the whole time. Just found out preg again in April 2011(wow I know) Im happy and very scared at the same time I get them really bad now but the Dr says as long as Im nausea Im doing good and Im really nausea this time all day sickness. I cant be as happy as I want to be until I get out of the 1st trimester then I can breathe alittle (lol) so good luck to you all and hope and pray for healthly happy babies!!!

by catherinewaheed

I haven't had an appetite either my stomach can't hold anything not even liquids until past 2pm so weird and on my first prenatal visit I actually lost 5 lbs. A lot of my friends are saying this is normal so we shall see...

by lclaudia86

I will be 10 weeks on Friday with my second little angel. (I'm hoping for another boy!) While at work today, I was sitting on my chair leaning over my desk and I felt vibrations and flutters...twice! I think it may be a bit too early but I swear I felt my little peach move around :) Anyone else feel their baby this early?

by Abbyjoy815

I have really bad sinus headaches and terrible dry mouth, even though I drink water all day

by Csem1511

Today I am 9 weeks! I have NO cravings, matter of fact, I can't stand the smell of food. If I didn't have to eat, I wouldn't! Yikes, hopefulle this changes in the next few weeks. Feeling tired, hungry and emotional.

by Elvera Davis

Well I am almost done with my 9th week of pregnancy! I have been nauseated but haven't gotten sick since we found out I am pregnant. I am tired alot, I don't want to do anything, and I agree with the women who don't like the smell of food and honestly if they didn't have to eat wouldn't! I feel that same way. I have not had many cravings and when I do eat, I feel like I have the food lodged in my throat or upper chest. It drives me nuts for hours. This is my second pregnancy and 7 years apart, 100% different from the first. I was sick pretty much all the time with my first. This one I don't get that way. I heard the heartbeat a week ago and it was wonderful! After 7 years of not really trying but not protecting I am shocked it took this long! Thanks to a wonderful doctor it happened within a month of our discussion. :) We are excited. I do hope the symptons go away and that everyone has a very healthy and happy pregnancy! :)

by TheresaVasboe

I'm 9 weeks today and sooo overwhelmingly TIRED! I work 8-6 and drive 40 minutes to and from work. No sickness...YET! Slight headaches began yesterday.

by JuliaHE

i started to spot blood in my pant and immediatley reported to my doctor. diagnosed me as having a threaftened abortion. he prescribed primulot injection and then bed rest. just when i thought everything was going right now that i am 9weeks preg.

I am 9 weeks and am noticing my nipples are getting much bigger. When I get cold or a chill and the nipples get a bit harder, they burn like they are on FIRE! It is actually very painful. Has anyone else experienced this?

by lalong1

I am 9 weeks and 3 days preggo. I was able to finally find our baby's heart beat 2 days ago! It was amazing. about 180 bpm and I'm so happy our baby is healthy.

When a mother loves her life and appriciates another and what theyve gone through in there past live and what the mother has gone through to and they share that fealling of hurt with one another they become stronger. The love is great and a wonderfull fealling to teach some one who died something they need to learn in order to prevent death or seriouus deppression of not knowing what thoes answers are. Getting help and relieing on writting a letter or contacting someone for spittul giudence to prevent this type of overwhelming hurt and lonlyness is best for you and your baby. Trust in your leaders and your questions of what is causing children to be reborn. Dieing is a scary matter. Love your children and love your elders. love you..

I AM 9 WKS PREGNANT TODAY! YAY!! BUT ON ANOTHER NOTE I AM SOOOOO SICK! & MY DOCTOR'S APPT ISN'T UNTIL JUNE 30TH. I CAN BARELY HOLD ANYTHING DOWN. I'VE BEEN DRINKING GINGERALE, TOAST, & NOTHING IS STAYING DOWN! :-( I'VE BEEN TRYING TO EAT FRUIT & THAT'S NOT WORKING! ANY SUGGESTIONS??

I am 9 weeks and can't make it through a full 8 hour work day. Any tips on overcoming being tired?

by Stacelan

This is my 2nd and I get them too. The nausea is worse than the headaches though. I think mione may be stress related though, I've got and IC that is a short 1.5 cm and have to go se a specialist in 2 weeks, I'm on total pelvic rest so you know what that means, one angry husband. I may have to have a cerclage and be on progesterone shots so this will prolly be my last pregnancy, I just hope I'll eventually be able to enjoy it a little.

by sarahparis

9 weeks and my appetite has been small since i found out at 5 weeks. I've been craving peaches and fruit juice like crazy, and the foods i love (including coffee) are strangely repulsive to me. I'm having a hard time wanting to make dinner too, poor hubby.

by poulson22

I have been getting those migraines as well. They usually happen when I haven't eaten for awhile or when I eat certain foods. I made a log to see when they are triggered because I was getting them everyday. I work full time so this is not an option. I at a bowl of cereal and got one 2 hours later. So I've narrowed it down to my sugar dropping super fast. I haven't had anymore since I started eating a more protien based meal. I hope you feel better and I understand how you feel.

by Roralove

I'm currently 9 weeks and I have been experiencing terrible lower back pain (tailbone included); is that normal this early on in my pregnancy?

Anyone else have such a drastic change between their first and second pregnancy??

by MRandMRSanderson

I'm nine wks and have been nauseated all the time and most food and drinks don't sound good. I'm having a hard time staying hydrated- especially since its summer. I was able to drink gatorade mixed with water the past couple days but now I don't even like that. Water makes me want to throw up! But I do feel like it might be getting a little better- maybe I'm slowly growing out of this phase!

by AnneEH

I have always had migraines. But since i have been pregnant I have around 3 a week. You are about to take extra strength tyl, The best way to get rid of them is to sleep them off. Easier said than done i know

9 weeks today and I can already see the weight gain! I bought me the belly band and it's the BEST!! I figured I'll wait until after 12 weeks to start looking into maternity clothes :)

by BabyMaddrey

Which way should the fetus face in a sonogram? I noticed that my baby was curled the opposite way of the uterus, not like the picture above. Is this normal or a problem? The doctor didn't mention it so I'm assuming it's ok. Help!

by AutumnKing82

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I haven't had any morning sickness or headaches. Sorry you all are having such a hard time. Hopefully you will feel better soon!

by JDB06

I'm having my first baby and I am lucky enough not to have morning sickness^.^ Unfortunately I do get nauseated when I try to eat certain foods... Mostly meats and eggs...kitchen smells also sometimes make me feel like not eating... which is bad. sigh. Does anyone have any advice? I'm usually an overly healthy eater!

by chorizarosales

I understand about the small appetite. The smell of most foods makes me want to yack! Particularly meat! I am not a vegetarian, but fruit and veggies seem to be all that I can stomach. And yes, watermelon is what I want! Watermelon and apples. I am 8wks and I have felt like this since 6wks.

by adheddleson

Today ismy first day in week 9. Not feeling so hot but getting by. I have had a bit of light spotting off and on so I am a bit worried but I did have an ultrasound and saw the tiny beating heart. Keeping my fingers crossed for a healthy baby!

by starrfire31

at ready4baby#2- I have had absolutely no appetite either. I have to force myself to eat sometimes, because of that, and the nausea.I'm only 9 weeks along, but I have found that when I do feel "seasick" if I eat fruit, or a fruity Popsicle it calms my stomach right down.

by daniziehm

I was sick the first few weeks and found the "Preggie pops" really work. They are hard candies that help with nausea...they are online or babies r us/buy buy baby!

In week 9 after having a missed MC in April. Anyone else scared the second time around? I wonder everyday what is going on in there and if I should feel anything.

by bossyferg

I had my first ultrasound last week and heard the heartbeat! I have been extremely nauseous and thrown up a couple of times. My doctor told me at this point food is not extremely important however thats what made me feel better most of the time. He did prescribe Ondansetron and what a miracle drug for nauseous!! It dissolves quick and within 2 minutes you will feel great!! I highly recommend it for anyone battling the nauseous feeling!

by Cynkuhn

I have been nauseated since I found out I was pregnant. I am now 9 weeks and feel like it's becoming worse. Any one have any suggestions? And please no crackers..lol.

by mzcapricorn05

I just had my first visit last Tuesday. I woke up with such a migraine on Sunday and Monday.....but i'm Ok now.

by mfinelli0512@yahoo.com

I've been pretty lucky with sickness...only had a bad 2 weeks around 6 weeks ( now I'm 9). I just have to make sure I eat a bunch of small meals a day. Can't go more than 2 hours without something in my stomach, and I eat something as soon as I wake up and before I go to bed. The hardest part is finding foods that appeal to me, but as long as I keep my stomach from being empty I seem to be able to ward off sickness. Also, when I was feeling sick I found that regular Coke helped settle my stomach. I know we have to be careful with too much caffeine, but a cup here and there really helped!

by leena05

This nausea will not go away!!! even with the anti-nausea medication (which gives me the worst headaches) my doctor gave me!!! My mother keeps saying "only a few more weeks" but a few weeks feels like a few months!! all i want to go is sleep and I wish i could eat! The only thing that makes this all worth is was at out first OB appointment I saw the heartbeat. It was the most magical thing i have ever witnessed!!

by heatherrenee89

I also feel fine, wasn't to hungry... Now this week I am at times. Gained no weight:) just waiting around for something to happen

by ciz2676

I am having horrible migraines as well. They have lasted almost a week now, but my nausea is going away...

I am 9w6d and this will be my 4th child, completely unexpected and not so good for an insulin dependent diabetic not to have this planned out....but so far so good, had us last week and measuring along with the date and hr was 175. It seems my previous c/s scar had "lots of blood flow" which might mean placenta could attach to it, has anyone dealt or might be dealing with this??

Im nine weeks today and go for my next doctor visit on the 29th....this is my first baby and im very excited!!!! So far no morning sickness or any problems...but definitely weight gain!! Good luck mommies

Im 9 weeks, 2 days along, and have ben so fortunate as to NOT have ANY morning sickness!! (WHEW!!) Have had a few pretty bad headaches, but all I've really noticed is the bloating, and bigger, sore boobies. I consider myself pretty lucky, and Im sorry to hear about the other ladies not feeling so well.

We just found out that I have a small bleed between the placenta and the umbilical cord. I am not allowed to have intercourse, lift anything, or do anything but walk. Has anyone else experienced this? We will have another ultrasound at 14 weeks (in 5 weeks) to see if the hemorrhage has resolved itself. I am quite terrified about this all!

I'm glad to hear that someone else 9 weeks is showing as well. This is our first, and it's just one baby, but I'm 5 '2, so maybe that has something to do with it? I haven't gained much weight (1 lb) since I've been so nauseous and getting sick a few times, but it's like my weight has re-distributed to my stomach. I'll be investing in the bella band soon!

by teamsloan6106

Wow jus found out I'm 9 weeks and 3 days! Makes it so much more real when u see the lil one on the screen with that tiny heart :o)

I commonly suffered headaches, but the lasts 2 weeks I suffered 3 times and it was terrible! I had to still working. I took a Paracetamol and it not disappeared but got better.

I've been really lucky and haven't been sick at all! I'm absolutely exhausted and I bloat EVERY TIME I eat....no matter what it is. And, not to be gross, but I have terrible gas pains. :( If that's my only major issue I feel lucky though! ! !

by manda37

I just found out I am nine weeks pregnant. I am excited and overwhelmed. I am also concerned about the migraines, I was on medication for migraines, but of course I had to stop them abruptly. Does anyone have suggestions for anything I can do naturally to help alleviate some of the pain?

@chrystin_lemon: I get morning sickness starting at about 11am and goes all night long. I've noticed that if I eat a little something every 2 hours, I don't feel so bad. I can't eat a lot at meals (I just get full so quick!) so I have a bowl of cereal, then 2 hrs later a piece of fruit, then 2 hrs later a handful of pretzels, etc...just some light stuff. Seems to help! Good luck!

Just reached 9 wks yesterday! My first appt. is on Friday! So excited to see and/or hear the heartbeat! I found out I was prego at about 4 1/2 weeks and felt fabulous until about week 6, when the nausea started. Over the next 2 wks it got worse and worse. I tried everything, sea bands, saltines, gingersnaps, peppermint, sprite..........nothing worked. It got so bad I wasn't able to keep even water down for about 2 days!! I went to the ER and they put me on an IV and gave me Zofran. That worked great for a few days then I started feeling nauseous again! Then suddenly a few days ago I went the whole day without any Zofran or puking! Now I can stay feeling pretty good for the whole day as long as I eat something small every few hours. If not I puke and feel crappy the rest of the day.

i am 9 weeks on monday. i haven't been real sick. very tired tho. i have started experiencing jaw pain. i know tooth and gum problems are common but is it jaw too? it feels very sore and like it could lock or something when i chew too big of bites. any thoughts?

by sarahandcorey

Is anyone else really sensative to smells? For me I can't even smell something sweet (even fruit) or I get serious sick to my stomach? Is this normal?

by lauraluv7

9 weeks now and just had my first bought of nausea yesterday and still going strong today... guess I'm lucky to have been feeling so great until now! I've been eating like a champ though these past few weeks, and have easily gained at least 5 pounds already. I hope this crazy hunger dies down a bit.

by monaloco

To ChicletCS: Yes, I am 9 weeks and look like I am at least 3 months! This is my third pregnancy, m/c on the first two at 10 and 8 weeks respectively. I had IVF on this one and still take daily hormones to prevent m/c, so I am thinking this is what is making me so huge! I don't remember being this big with the other two but then again those didn't make it. I get to stop taking the hormones when I get to 12 weeks and I am hoping things will "normailize" a bit then. I feel like Jabba the Hut but it is so worth it!

by caellen

Cabbatacola. I have had headaches today and yesterday. I also haven't been drinking water like I should. I think that's why!

i went for a prego test today and it came up positive they want me to come back in 10 days. my stomace hurts and i always feel so tiered

I have also had really bad headaches the last two weeks and last Friday I had a really bad migraine. I started off having blurred vision and seeing spots then the migraine set in. I went home and laid down in my dark room with a cold rag over my head and took some extra strrength tylenol. The headache was still there the next day and I'm still getting them a couple of times a week but haven't gotten any more migraines thankfully

Today marks 9 weeks! I have been hurling since week 4 and I just want it to stop. I never want to eat but if I don't the vomiting get worse. I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. I am praying that I start to feel like myself here again real soon. I am driving my husband crazy!

by jenwilli81

I'm so confused! I'm reading tons of books and belong to several sites for pregnancy information. But how many are giving info on the weeks pregnant you are and how many are giving info on how many weeks the baby is? According to my doctor and my calendar I am 9 weeks 2 days, but that is based on the first day of my last period. that would make the baby only 7 weeks if I concieved 2 weeks after the first day of my last period. So on The Bump does baby facts at 9 weeks mean I am 11 weeks?

by clhankie

I havent been 'sick sick' yet, just really nasueas at night, except yesterday it was ALL day... But, my only concern is I am not eating/craving much. What would I do, is that bad?

by tmkimber

I am 9 weeks today and have yet to have any morning sickness or headaches, but have waves of nausea every few days. I have serious issues with constapation & gas pains, mainly wen its time for bed. Plus I get cramps on my inner hips that keep me awake sometimes. I am a mother of 2 girls already but with them I had morning sickness & was light headed till at least the 2nd trimester. All I seem to want to do these days is sleep!!! its all just crazy I guess. I keep wishing for time to pass faster so this pregnancy will be over but I kno there is no rushing it lol. My 2nd OB appt is in 2 days & I hope to hear the heart beat & schedule my CVS testing. I kno its a dangerous yet but this is a high risk baby & we want to be prepared, plus the Dr doing it has yet to mess 1 up which is always good to know! Regardless of the results, I'm keeping this baby, just in case anyone was wondering. However, I am a little scared that my babysitter health may not be very good due to my past mistakes which has been killing me! My OB assures me that I shud relax bc every1 makes mistakes, but I can't help but worry. I'll see wat happens soon enough tho.

by origbabymama

This is my first pregnancy and just started week 9 but I'm not showing at all and have not had any visual conformation for myself....I'm considering buying a pee stick test just to say I at least SAW proof instead of just hearing 'your pregnant'. I know that I am because of the morning sickness that is not normal for me at all but it's still hard to FEEL like it without an ultrasound & my first full prenatal isn't until Sep 6th. Anyways, not to complain but I wish I at least had some visual conformation to 'feel' pregnant!

by AdriaTM

At this stage of your pregnancy your baby is able to move it's body and limbs and you may be able to see this movement during an ultrasound exam. -Jonathan Berkowitz

by Jonathan Berkowitz

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like I could sleep for days this week. Whenever I feel sick, I eat an apple or a banana and my sickness subsides quickly. The thought of most foods make me ill, but fruits are my saving grace. As far as the headache, I try to chug a ton of water and take a large dose of vitamin C (Emergen-C is great). Good luck and remember...every ounce of this is going to be worth it. :)

by erwhite

I was suffering from pretty frequent headaches as well, before I started going to a chiropractor. after starting to realign my back/neck, the headaches were drastically reduced. i would definitely consider seeing a chiropractor, as i've been told it can ease pain on your sciatic as well as make labor quicker/easier. BONUS: it feels nice!

My nuasea is so bad I keep a bucket close all day. I go to the doctors today and hope they can help me with this. I have ttried eating before bed and not eating before bed. Ginger ale, crackers, crackers before getting up, toast smaller portions of everything. No spicy food, I don't get it and it is a horrible feeling. I have 6 children already and never had I felt like this. Think it's because I'm older? 33yrs old. Any advise please help me!

by tiffanyn1978

Just hit 9 weeks today. =) Went to a regular doctor and she said they won't even give me an ultra sound until I am 12 weeks. This is my first baby and my husband is deploying before I even get to 12 weeks. I am so disappointed, but we decided I will record EVERY moment. I too have had horrible morning sickness, but learned it's only when I wait too long to eat. I went from 130 pound in December to 117 pounds on Wednesday and yet I can't fit in any of my newer clothes. My mom thinks it's a girl because my entire family has only ever gotten morning sickness with girls. Anyways, I am eating almost 24/7 to keep up with the hunger and stop the sick feeling, but man do I feel like a fat kid. I wake up every two hours in the night wanting to eat and man does it make me tired. If anyone hasn't been put on any anti-nausea, my doctor gave me Vitamin B6, it seems to be doing the trick. If it gets worse she said to ask for the stuff they give chemo patients, but we are trying to avoid that route. Good luck to all you lovely ladies!

by JSM6310

Its so crazy because I really didnt have issues with vomitting during the begining of my pregnancy however as i near the end of the first trimester I am experiencing numerous vomitting spells. i thought towards the end is when they are suppose to stop not start lol. i just joke around by saying that my child is going to be a handful.

by snapplemum

Hi ya! So glad to read all of these posts because I am clueless! This is my first and I am 40 (yes, you read that right). I have had no morning sickness, but the migraines are terrible. I was terribly distraught until I read others are experiencing this and that I don't have something wrong with me. So, I will give some advice my doc gave me to help avoid morning sickness and that is to take your prenatal vitamin when you go to bed so if it makes you sick, you can sleep through it. Bye ladies!

by tonynkim2011

hyperemesis gravidarum. Why cant that be done with! cant wait to get passed these next couple of weeks!

by Andriavfg

I just got over a very bad migraine. It lasted about 2 - 3 days as well. I had some congestion too so I took 2 treatments for my humidifier per day and lots of rest. It did help. But it was terrible dealing with it.

by ashnicole24

I'm also experiencing migraine headaches more than when i wasn't pregnant.

by maynjop

I am 9 weeks now.. and the morning sickness just does not seem to be going away.

by armygirl20

Cabbatacola, Ive been having terrible sinus headaches for about a week now. I haven't tried Tylenol like my doctor suggested because I was trying to get rid of it without taking any pills...but I think it might be time! Heart burn has been a problem, too. Still getting used to a diet change! But at least I can eat now! I was unable to eat anything besides drinking an Ensure for about a week, during my 6th and part of my 7th week. No vomiting, just horrible nausea. Tried to eat things that I used to love...not happening. Then I decided to try one last thing. I bought the PSI Bands. And I am in love. My husband laughs at me because I refuse to take them off. I dont care if it is psychosomatic or if they actually do work with pressure point...I AM IN LOVE!!

by KarBon0425

Is anyone else having issues with morning sickness... I have yet to actually get sick but unless I eat something every 30 minutes to an hour I feel horrible...I hate to sound like a whiner but I've never felt so gross. This is my second pregnancy (my last didn't make it this far) and I'm quite terrified... excited but terrified. My husband is hoping for twins, so is my step son... they are silly boys. I hope we find out today, I have a Dr visit, will we be able to see baby(ies) at 8-9 weeks?

by MamaKay1234

I am sorry to hear of everyone's ailments. This is my first pregnancy and am blessed to say I have not had any nausea, headaches, or any other problems! I had my first appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat and the doctor says the baby is growing beautifully!

by daniellerios

I am also 9 weeks. I have started to have terrible headaches. I still have afternoon sickness not, morning. Plus I am really showing too. Like I am have twin, but its only one.

I'm 9w5d and starting to feel a bit better myself. Not so much nausea, but still some shakiness if I don't eat every few hours. Also, seems like my sensitive nose is going way, and my boobs don't really hurt at all. Maybe I am just getting used to it all though! Had 3rd ultrasound yesterday and saw the baby flailing away~so active! This is an anxious time, an exciting time, and a worrisome time.. but all of the downs are worth the big UP at the end!

by newestpav

Well I'm 9 weeks & 5 days along & our first appointment is on the 17th of October, but i have an few things weighing on my mind. Q1) I was on clomid for 3 months and nothing happend so we gave up on getting prego and then 2 months later we found out we are pregnant, so the question is, is there a chance we could be pregnant with more then one baby in the oven or am i in the clear & Q2) Is it normal for your arms to fall asleep all threw the night even if your not sleeping on your side?? Sleeping on my back makes it hurt more and sleeping on my side makes my belly hurt, expecially on my left side. Weird or not??

by MeganJames11

Just started 9 weeks today. You ladies have really helped me out. I had migraines with auroas and numbness before I was preggo, but Sunday had 2 (!) in a row and the numbness changed sides of the body. I was so concerned that there was something really wrong. Told the nurse at my first appt on Tues. she didn't seem concerned. Thanks for letting me know it isn't just me having migraines and constant headaches. I can suffer through the nausea and peeing all the time, but the migraine without meds is tough. Thanks ladies!

by EKillinger

Feeling good, but tired. Second time around is easier for sure. For all the ladies having bad nausea, one word: Zofran. It is an amazing drug that is safe during pregnancy. I take it only when I just can't stand the nausea anymore and it works immediately with no side effects. You can then eat something and that usually helps keep the nausea away. Try to keep something in your stomach at all times (eat every two hours) even if it's just a piece of bread. Empty stomachs are the worst enemy of nausea!

by 40plusmom4

Oh, good... someone else mentioned the burning nipples! Haha. I thought I was a freak, or maybe a big wuss. I've been a little sore in the boob region, but nothing I can't handle. The instant I'm the TINIEST bit cold though, oh man. My nipples are instantly burning, it's all I can do not to walk around rubbing them, whining. Makes for awkward times at work.

by nikkylee

I am also having headaches, but only when I wake in the morning. I am 9 weeks today, pregnant with #5. With my other pregnancies I got migraines towards the end of each pregnancy, and just took Tylenol. My MS has subsided, but when it was really bad starting in week 4 I used my sea-bands they work wonders. I wish a happy pregnancy to all.

by sh3emr

I barely keep food down and my nauseau is triggered by almost every smell.... other than that and my back aches everything is fne but what can I do about the nauseau?

by andr3wsgrl

Cabbatacola another thing you might want to consider is a (sorry about the spelling) chiropractor. Your hormones might be going into your neck or head and they can help balance it all out. I have to go to one because all my babies go into my lower back the minute I get pregnant and it is the only way I can walk.

by missheather55

Exhausted and ill, like a lot of you ladies. Please don't feel alone! As someone obsessed with dental hygiene, gagging on my toothpaste every morning and being unable to stomach mint gum is about to kill me. I must restock in cinnamon! Our first appointment is tomorrow afternoon, and I can't wait to see the ultrasound. I guarantee DH won't sleep tonight!

by Ashley Jolene

Only 3 weeks now until I get to hear bubs heartbeat, I cant wait

by Babbabe

Hi ladies, ok im 9wks today and I'm finally getting over morning sickness, however every smell makes me ill and I'm getting headaches. I hve the worst taste n my mouth, it won't go away anyone else hve this problem?

by bebe2b

I will be 9 weeks tomorrow, and boy am I still nervous! My husband and I were pregnant about 6 months ago, and lost the baby at 8 weeks. I'm still very anxious that something could go wrong, but my doctor is convinced things are going well this time because i'm SO SICK. Nauseous all day long, I've had to miss work a few times. I'm very skeptical about any kind of remedies too, because we want to badly to carry this child to term. Any suggestions???

by kelciandkevin

This is our 4th child and I can say I never had headaches like these. I didn't want to come into work but I pushed myself. Looking at the computer makes my head fuzzy and cloudy....new thing I guess:(
