Your Pregnancy: Week 9

As you squeeze into your jeans and struggle to button your shirt, try enjoying the gain -- after all, when was the last time putting on the pounds was totally guilt-free? It's also probably time for some new lingerie. Your sore, bigger-by-the-minute boobs will feel so much better in a maternity bra.

Baby's now the size of a green olive!
Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like...well...a baby!

To-do:
> Consider a babymoon
> Schedule first prenatal checkup
> Reminder: schedule your CVS
> Go to your checklist

[ tip ] Ask for a free sample of whatever prenatal vitamin your doctor recommends. Better figure out if you're able to keep one down before buying an enormous bottle.

Just had our first doctor visit. Saw the heartbeat. I'm having terrible migraine headaches that last for two to three days. Is anyone experiencing this? Other than that i'm feeling a lot better.

cabbatacola, sorry you're not feeling well!!!!! I had terrible tension and sinus headaches not too long ago. Try ice packs or gentle heat wherever it feels best on your head, face, neck or shoulders. Lay down in a dark, quiet room. Even if you want to, DONT CRY! It will make it worse. Keep your raging hormones in check to avoid future migraines by paying careful attention to your diet. Avoid foods that trigger your headaches, eat smaller but more frequent meals throughout the day. And eat healthy healthy healthy. Your poor aching head will thank you for it. Chiropractic, massage or accupunture may provide relief if approved by your obgyn. Feel better!!

MIGRAINES? How funny....I'm laying in bed after missing work for the 3rd time this week! I had colored spots in my vision and even had some crazy blind spots for about an hour. For 30 minutes of this craziness I also had my right arm go numb, starting at my pinkie. Dr was worried because I've never had migraines and wants to do an MRI and I made the appointment but then they mentioned the birth defects possible so I spoke with my husband and we decided against it. I'm soooo glad that you mentioned this! It really makes me feel so much better about our decision not to have the MRI. I can feel good about concluding that this is just a normal first trimester symptom! Thanks Ladies! *Muuuuuah*
