Your Pregnancy: Week 8

Playing host to an ever-growing embryo does take a toll. Heavy fatigue may be setting in, along with abdominal cramping and tender breasts. Treat yourself gently, and it doesn't hurt to remind your partner to do the same. Though it's not showing yet, you're growing a little person in there!

Baby's now the size of a raspberry!
Baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs, and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

To-do:
> Schedule monthly OB visit
> Schedule chorionic villus sampling test
> Go to your checklist

[ tip ] Conquer the queasies with ginger. Make your own tea by grating fresh ginger into hot water, or snack on ginger candies and ginger ale. (Make sure they contain the real stuff, not artificial flavoring.)

I'm approx. 8 weeks pregnant with our first child together. I'm super scared, but excited at the same time. We are closing on our house on 7/31. So we have had a lot of first this month.

by Tashamama

This morning I woke up with a brown mucus discharge...is this normal??

by Panezott1154

I'm 8 weeks and I'm super scared but excited, too! I had my first OB appointment last week, but no ultrasound yet :(....my next appointment is on 8/13 and we will actually get one then. Can't wait!

by barnedmr

Morning sickness?? Try 24/7 sickness! It's so hard to even eat a cracker or drink a glass of water!

by mkandah

I am approx. 8 weeks pregnant, and I also had a brown mucus discharge...was wondering the same thing, if it's normal. Everything seems fine. I haven't had any spotting or cramping.

by moniquee_d@hotmail.com

My 8 weeks just hit yesterday. Just like Tashamama, this is our first child. We are both scared and trying to figure everything out. But congratulations to all the other mothers!!

by ernocs

I am so exhausted I have to chase my older daughter around who will be two in Sept. plus work twice a week I can't I feel so worn out!

by ElinaPerri

I'm about 8 weeks also... and also with our first.... I can't wait and we are super excited. I can't wait to find out what we are having. Im lucky I haven;t had any sickness. Just Queasy!

by lulubell2828

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and extactic!! We have been trying for almost 2 years and thought this day would never come. Had an ultrasound this past week and got to hear the heartbeat for the first time.

by alissamarie@insightbb.com

i've had the same brown mucus.... i'm hoping it's normal since i'm not the only one having it. anyone know what it is or means?

by imdncr

I officially hate ginger ale. I've been drinking it daily to fight this all-day sickness. Just the sight of the bottle/can makes me want to blow chunks. :-)

by hvanthoogt

I hear you on 24/7 sickness. 8 weeks on Sunday, and I have had two weeks of nausea. I start feeling a little better around 10 PM so I have been staying up until 1 AM or later just to take it in. I work from home, so I'm grateful to have the choice. I can't imagine going into an office feeling this way. I don't know how much more I can take.

by RayJayBaby

I am 8 weeks and 2 days. So far I haven't had any sickness (knock on wood). However I have never been so exhausted in my life, I can barely make it through the work day. My husband and I carpool (thank the lord) and I fall asleep everyday on the way home from work, I then take a nap as soon as we get home. Wake up, cook dinner and do things around the house and back to sleep to get ready for another day. Everyone warned me about fatigue but I had no idea it was going to be this bad. We had our first appointment last week, got our ultrasound picture and got to hear and see the heartbeat. Very cool, very amazing and so exciting!

by azulkowski

I am 8 weeks and so far so good. This is our 6th pregnancy, no live births. I am thankful for our angels. My husband and I are praying that we will gladly welcome our new addtion to our family in March 2010. Ladies stay prayerful and God Bless.

by lisakeith2005

I am 7 weeks 5 days with our 2nd child. We are super excited. The all day sickness has been so BAD this time. Nothing is appealing. I think of food & it makes me want to throw up. Hopefully only a few more weeks of the sickness.

by nickyjo0906

Congrats on the house Tashamama! We're in the same boat, we discovered that we were pregnant the same week that we went into contract on our first house, which also happened to be the week of our first anniversary. Lots of things to celebrate all at once! Preparing to move during morning (aka most of the day) sickness is proving to be quite a challenge, but we'll be so happy to be settled into our new home well before the little one arrives. Good luck with your move too!

by kshurtz

I'm 8 wks pregnant with our first child too. We are super excited. I used to get sick in the mornings but I decided to change my prenatal vitamins from morning to night, it's helping a lot. I only have the feeling to go vomiting but nothing. My tummy is getting biger and my breast hurts specially in the morning when I wake up. My husband and I have sex almost everyday and I get the brown mucus too, but its normal. As long as you guys dont have spots or bleeding. Congratulations to everyone!

by norguez

My husband and I have just bought our first house and I'm 7 weeks pregnant with our first. Firsts are exciting!! :-)

by Sarah Stanbary

I am 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby. We are excited but scared because I have lost a baby at 18 weeks without a warning. I have a great feeling about this pregnancy and I pray and thank god every day. We just moved to Long Beach from Sacramento and we had a wedding date for April 3, 2010 but we are due March 30, 2010 we now have move the wedding up. We are now going to elope on 09.20.09 we are so excited. Life is changing so fast.

by LaPrea ReNae

This is our first child and we are super excited and scared! Today makes 8 weeks and I have my 2nd dr's appointment. Yesterday, I felt ok, then all of a sudden I felt so fatigued and it made me want to cry. I don't know if that is normal, but I also am constantly queasy.

by popurum

Hi ladies, I am also having that brown mucus discharge a little bit. I wad 7 weeks and 5 days when it started, and it has appeared to let up now, at 8 weeks. We will see. I think it coud be do to sex.

by racheljaners

I'm 7 weeks and 5 days and just wanted to respond to the posts about the brown mucus. I had this as well from the 5th to 6th week. I went in for an internal ultrasound and everything was fine. My doctor said just to get "uterine rest", meaning NO exericse and NO sex - just until everything gets a little further along. Good luck!

by babysuella

I been feeling the baby move since i was 4 weeks. I think all these myths that you cant feel the baby move until he or she is bigger is just lame. I felt both pregnancies early with both my daughters. Its all about not moving, and just relaxing. I feel the baby move all the time when im laying down, sitting on the sofa, on the computer chair and even doing the dishes.

by PaganAutumn77

Here is some weirdness ... any answers? Monday and Tuesday I feel like poo runover twice by tractor trailer. Nausea, Vomitting, Fatigue ... yada yada ... Then poof ... on Wed. and for the rest of the week I feel reasonable ... not great ... but at least I can function whereas Monday and Tuesday I can't ... Thoughts?

by obxcake

I'm also about 8 weeks pregnant. It's our frist child together, too. I can't say I'm scared, YET. I am super excited...can't wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl so I can start shopping and getting things ready!!!I Can't say I have had terrible morning sickness, because I have been lucky and haven't had a lot. In fact I really haven't been sick at all. Just a little nausea here and there. Yesterday was my worst day. I feel better today, but not entirely. I am soooooooo tired all the time. Other than that, all is well.

by ms. lili

This is our first pregnancy and we just found out yesterday at 8wks that we are having twins!! It was the neatest thing to see those little beans on the ultrasound.

by webbtm

This is our third baby and I have to say, so far, this is the roughest pregnancy by far!!! Morning, afternoon, and night sickness, already can not fit into most of my clothes, and wow, am I an emotional rollercoaster.....but I dare anyone else to say it, hahaha...

by shelby4freedom

I'm with you there 24/7 sickness im like uggg...I hurt as in some light stretch like cramping if that makes any sense and I'm so unbelievably tired. Even still I work full time and I'm seriously thinking this working full time thing isnt going to last long.

by brittneydial

Is it normal to not have any real symptoms? I occasionally have very mild nausea but I feel fine aside from intense hunger when I'm hungry and crazy emotions at times.

by Dannyswifey10

i had the same thing with the discharge last week. I called my doctor, he said its totally normal. it's just old blood coming out, because there is so much new blood being pumped around your body. as long as there is no red, or bad cramping it's fine. :)

by henndelaine73

I'm 8 and a half weeks and I have had non stop morning sickness for 3 weeks now! I am sick ALL of the time! I've also tried every trick out there to try and feel at least a little bit better! Nothing works!! I can't wait until i don't have to go to the ER for dehydration anymore!! Been Twice in the last week! When I can drink water again I will NEVER let myself get thirsty again!

by **Katy

ok so i had brown mucus discharge last week and my doctor said it was from the vaginal ultrasound she also said it can happen after having sex. its little blood vessels in your cervix that broke. i thought i was having a miscarrage but i wasnt can you tell this is my first time being pregnant.

by mika83

This morning sickness is draining me! I've thrown up 7 times already and it's only 1:30! Not to mentiion I'm at work so I have to do it secretly and quietly!! HElp! Nothing works!

by **Katy

I'm 8 weeks and this is my first too...I'm just dying to get through this first trimester! Get over the nausea and get into the "honeymoon stage"! Anyone else lost all their mojo? I'm dying here! Also...how cute will it be when we finally look preggo? lol

by melaniew4

I am 7 weeks and 4 days today. i have slight morning sickness, not throwing up, but it lasts all day. i have found that peppermint candies or peppermint chewing gum helps me the most. i dont really have the urge to eat either and the doctor gave me a chart to go by and eat only the serving size. SO hard!!! i think i am in tune with my body more that others are because i can feel everything. the moving, the expanding, the cramping and although the cramping feels weird, theres no blood so i have been reassured that its alright. twins run in my family so im excited for when i go for my first actual exam i will find out because i am way too anxious.

by 8vianoqueenbee

go for our ultrasound today! Can't wait-the doc says we may be able to see the heartbeat!

by Melissa Christensen

I am 8 3/7 weeks pregnant and had my first OB appointment and ultrasound yesterday. My husband and I were so excited to see our little raspberry the first time.

by nursekimm77

Hi, I had that brown mucus discharge too, when I was 5 weeks and it was there until last week, now I'm 8 weeks and it's not there. I talked to the doctor and he told me that it's normal and everything is fine at least that u bleed or u have intensive cramps. If u are still concerned call ur doctor. this is my first baby so I was really worried!!

by sandybem

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first child.. im very excited and scared. no morning sickness yet but holy moses... I have never been this tired. I used to sleep at 1 or 2am during weekends but right now at 10pm I am dead tired already. But thats ok I have to get enough sleep and rest for our baby :)

by annahavinababy

i am 8 weeks and crackers are no help for morning sickness!!!

by nerd_kid

Eight weeks and counting! Sick morning, noon and night, but all is well if it means a healthy baby! The first trimester is so nerve-racking. Taking every ache and twinge to heart. Heard so many horror stories at this point, but want to be excited! Anyone else feeling discouraged?

by emmajean85

I've had the brown discharge as well. I've been told its from the prenatal pills and extra hormones.

by ashmarie10

I am 8 weeks tomorrow and have no morning sickness, little fatigue and I don't really feel pregnant. This is my first. The only thing is my boobs are very tender! I have my first appt in a week, can't wait!

by adkins182

razzberry... awe... i can't believe i'm doing this again.. after 25 years.. i'm nervous but happy.. good luck to all you other pregos out there...

by buellbaby

the brown mucus discharge is usually from implantation. i had the same thing. as long as it is a light brownish color and a light not heavy discharge its pretty typical. i talked to my ob about it and also read about it in what to expect when expecting.

by kimroberts

YAY lil' raspberry! I'm feeling less and less anxious with each week. Been having weekly ultrasounds since week 6 b/c of m/c history (2 in last year). My doc is such a doll b/c she knows checking in on the baby eases my fears (and are harmless). Having another on Thursday and can't wait to see the lil' itty-bitty!

8 weeks pregnant and have been on the couch for two weeks now had to drop all classes and cannot really do anything as I am SO weak from anemia have stomach pains from the iron I am taking as well as super crazy nausea. I am really upset i cannot continue living my life right now. Hope it gets better soon.

by mirimaus

I am 8 weeks preggers today! Somehow it has yet to sink in and that bothers me a little bit. I was beyond excited when I found out I was pregnant with our first son 4 years ago, but now, I almost feel too tired to be excited. Is there something wrong with me?

by tomlinz5

I am 8 weeks today and the nausea kicked in last week. Sometimes I have it in the morning and sometimes I have it in the evening...and sometimes I have it in the afternoon. It comes and goes so I am constantly drinking ginger ale or the ginger tea that I made. I try to eat when I am not so nauseous.

by AmyWest

I am 8 weeks 5 days today. I was told I had a blighted ovum and would miscarry and that I should have a D&C to get it over with. I waited 2 weeks and asked to have another ultrasound. This morning I saw my baby with its little heart light up, beating 161 beats per minute! It was amazing!

by babypearmain

I am 8weeks too and last week i had brown spotting and slight cramping i went to my OB because I am high risk (I have had 4 MC) he did an U/S and i saw and heard the babys heart. he said everything looked fine but still had a chance of MC. I go back this week for an U/S I hope everything is ok

by romans_baby

Today I am officially 8 weeks pregnants and very excited but scared as well. I hope all is going well with my little bean and can't wait for my ultrasound next Tuesday. We should be able to hear the heartbeat!!!!!!!!!

by teunsha1

my husband and i are 8wks preggo with our 1st child! We going our 1st baby appt tomorrow!!! I'm SOOO excited to hear the heart beat! We had a miscarriage in June and are so lucky and happy to have what seems like a healthy pregnancy so far. =] good luck to all you mommy's out there!!

by EmBride2BeOrr

My ob said we were 8 weeks along, but since she could not feel my uterus (its tilted) she gave us the choice of having an early ultrasound done. We have our first ultrasound on monday.

by myserie7

Congrats ladies! We are just as excited! We are about 8 weeks with our first little one! And just to ease some of you ladies, I had the brown discharge for a few weeks and it is finally going away. I also had a little blood when I wiped last week , so I went in early for the US, and we got to see the little heart beat and everything was great! :)

by BlairVB

I am 8 weeks with my first child and I am so excited. I have to say that I have never been so tired. I work full time and its going to be a long 7 months. Morning sickness has been kickin my butt. haha. BUT my dr said that there is a pill they can give pregnant woman for the morning sickness...so if ur interested talk to your dr about it!!

by QTKT485

I am 8 weeks also. Brown spotting is normal. Your cervix has lots of blood flowing right now.

by pmorris84

To the moms wondering about the brown discharge...I'm NO doctor, but this is my second pregnancy, and I had similar concerns about discharge the first go-round. I saw some brownish mucus a few times, and often saw a greenish mucus. I know that seems gross, but after talking to many other experienced moms and my doctor, I was told it's normal. But beware if it accompanied any strange cramps (some cramping is normal...your uterus is stretching) or other symptoms that you believe to be odd. And doctors have never scolded me for asking those "silly" questions at my visits. Good luck!

8 weeks pregnant and saw the little nugget and heard the heartbeat yesterday! It was an awesome feeling! (11/14/09)

by easax83

I haven't been sick at all, and get nervous bc they say if you are sick you are less likely to miscarry. I had a miscarriage earlier this year. So be thankful that you have an outward sign that everything is working as it should! And I'll try to be thankful that I'm not sick! :0)

by carsoncwalker

I am approx. 8 and a half weeks pregnant and have had pretty bad experiences with severe constipation. Have been to the emergency room twice because the constipation was so bad it was causing very labored breathing. Any suggestions on how to get normal...besides the usual fiber, fruits, psyillium, prune jjuice, typical gental laxatives (ducolax, sennes s, etc). Have tried all of the above. Appreciate any suggestions.

by sphelps06

I wish my morning sicknes was just beginning.... its just getting worse, i've had it for 2-3 weeks now and today it was so bad I had to stay home from work and I slept all day long! The cramping started a little today... that scared me, but my do assures me it is normal. I'm waiting to tell my mom until Thanksgiving and trying to tell her i'm fine when she knows something is up is killing me!

by aggieann04

I had that brown spotting about a week ago....called the dr. its normal, unless u have really bad cramps or pain.

by Sarah3186

We had our first OB appointment today! The babys due date is july 2nd :) We were able to hear our babies heart beat on the sonogram today and we even got our baby's first snap shots!! 2 pictures :) Me and my fiance couldn't be happier

by brittreza5

The browninsh discharge is normal. I'm about 8 weeks pregnant with my 3rd, and I had the discharge with my first two. It went away after a couple of weeks. As long as there's no pain or discomfort, you'll be fine...

by GoTeamBloo

MORNING SICKNESS SUCKS! CANT EAT ANYTHING .FEEL BAD NOT FEEDING MY LITTLE BABY GOOD.

by DING1661

Today I am 8 weeks! I have found that Icebreakers Sours really helps to cut the upset stomach feeling. It takes your mind off of the urge to throw up or dry heave. We are very excited and I just found out yesterday that a cousin of mine is due in the same month as me!!

by cedesntroy

I had my first dr appt today. It became so real...it has been real to me for the last 4 weeks, but to have that confirmation and seeing the little heartbeat flash on the screen. I couldn't help but cry...my DH even teared up. We've only told our parents and a few very close friends. Now we can tell other friends and family. I'm so excited!!

by cynsully

Hello ladies. Does anyone have nausea remedies to share? Gee golly. I've been feeling so bad lately. Nothings tastes good at all. It's not just morning sickness. It's all day, all night sickness. I know for sure that this baby is growing strong. :)

by csperez

I am about 8weeks pregnant. Last night I got really worried because I was cramping. I heard it is normal to cramp though but it still worries me. I have my first doctors apt on January 22. The doctor said he didn't want to see me till I was 12weeks so I could hear a strong heart beat. I pray its a strong heart beat!!! I've been having a lot of morning sickness but its starting to get a little better. This is also my first so I pray everything goes good.

by jesswhitt

i'm jus slightly over 8wks preggers, but boy oh boy do i get sick. its anytime of the day. mornings are the worst, i am pratically invalid. i throw up so often at wk its become normal, but i look forward to the baby comin n i feel comforted. i'm also scared but i dont let that get me down. goodluck to all da expectant moms.

by tayali

My husband and I are having baby number 2. We have a two year old son and they will be close to 3 years apart when this baby is born. We are so excited. This pregnancy is totally different than my first. I am sick ALL the time from day 1, hungry ALL the time and my emotions are out of control. My poor husband! We had our first doc. appt. last Monday the 21st and everything looked great. We got to see the heartbeat which made me feel so much better. My husband said "Looks like little nugget number 2!" He called my son a nugget the first time he saw him on the ultrasound. It was a cute little nickname! Being 8 weeks, is anyone showing yet? I was in maternity pants with my son at 13 weeks but that was because my other pants were uncomfortable. Anyone having that problem yet?

by steph0621

Im 8 weeks today and this is my second. Im nervous to see how this pregnancy is going to be different from the first. So far no morning sickness..

by tabbycat2010

I'm 8 weeks today with my second child. So far I have nausea, bloating, gas and fatigue. My breasts, suprisingly, are not that sore, but definetly bigger. We had our first visit to the doctor at 4 weeks. Our next appt. is this Fri. for our fist ultrasound. We can't wait.

by jandrade65

I'm 8 weeks, my first pregnancy - with twins. It took the last two weeks to absorb that news. It's exciting! I'm also managing thyroid disease and want to sleep all the time. Any advice out there?

by hem614

i am 8wks pregnant now with our first child together. i am also nervous but excited too. we had our first ultrasound a few weeks ago! it was really cool you could see the out line of the baby and the heart moving you could also hear the heartbeat! at 6wks at that time the baby had a really strong heart beat! my husband is very excited!!

by snow_pro_mom

We just had our first ultrasound today 1/08/10. We saw the heartbeat and dicovered our little person is 1" in long. it was so exciting and reassuring, just what we needed to see to make the pregnancy seem even more real. good luck to all you mommy's.

by jandrade65

I am 8 weeks pregnant and struggling to get enough to eat and enough sleep. Ever since I got the H1N1 vaccine last week I have been battling a cold and can't sleep more than two hours at a time. Plus, my appetite has gone down the tubes. I am drinking protein shakes to get enough calories. Please tell me this gets better!?

by tkusske

I am 8 weeks today, and I have alot of upper leg cramps, is this normal?

by homegurl_fo_life_26101

Question - Is anyone just feeling nauseous now? I thought I lucked out and felt fine (other than tired) up til now. But now the nausea is starting. Is that normal for it to start around week 8?

by shorter

I am just at 8 weeks and my breast are so tender and hurt so bad that i have to sleep with a warm towel on them is there anything i can do to keep them from being so sore?

by laurapowdrill

well i got the swine flu shot a couple of weeks ago so far im fine so i do reccommend it so if you havent protected your baby you should do so now

by homegurl_fo_life_26101

Hey ladies. Alike many of you, I too am in my 8th week (today) with my first child. I'm super scared as well and just hope everything goes well. Anyway.. Because of some comments I saw regarding brown discharge, I decided to look it up in case it happens to me too. Here are a link that might ease your mind. http://www.pregnancywizard.com/signs-symptoms/brown-discharge.php It's most likely old blood being discharged from your body.

by rosiebud777

I am a little over 8 weeks and I am so nauseous sometimes I just want to throw up. Seems like I would be relieved. I am super excited and scared. I have an appointment 3/4 and pretty anxious to see how the development is going.

by AmandaP2010

8 wks tomorrow! i am so excited! i have to wait for 6 weeks for my first ultra sound.

by chewychigozie

i was fine week 7 and even a bit nervous that i wasnt having any symptoms other than soreness in my breasts....well, i am now CONSTANTLY sick. i feel like i am on one of those spinny rides at the park. round and round all day long! me and my big mouth!!!

by heytaranichole

I am 8 weeks 2 days and yesturday I had a scare...brown discharge with a little blood. Dr gave me an ultrasound right away. They saw the baby and the heart beat. Heart rate was 150. This morning it was a brownish discharge with a little pinkish colour to it. My dr said that 15% of women experience this...was told to take it easy. Sooo super scared...wake me up wehn it's over~~anyone have this????

by lisas2kids

I'm 8 weeks 5 days pregnant with my second (technically my fourth) but I'm already showing a lot. Are there any other 2nd time moms showing a lot more this time around. I don't mind....it is just surprising! :) Hope all of you have wonderful pregnancies!

by mrsklreith

I am about 8 weeks along. I've had quite the ride already. We originally thought i was 10 weeks when I was actually 5 on my first visit. I've already had 3 Drs visits 2 blood tests, and 4 ultra sounds.. to determine that there is ACTUALLY a baby in there and Thank heavens there is! (Still a bit frustrating to think I would have been 13 weeks by now.)

by randiandtrenton@infowest.com

I am 8 weeks today and had my first dr. appointment with pap 3 days ago. i woke up this morning and was spotting through the night. not a lot, but having had a miscarriage last year I am completely terrified. My hubby said he read that sometimes during the pap they can scrape and cut you and its just your body releasing the clot. has anyone else had this? im not cramping or in any pain whatsoever (other than the morning sickness) bleh

by heytaranichole

24/7 sickness here too! I think of food and I get nauseous. Brushing my teeth in the morning is no fun. I hope this doesn't last the whole 40 weeks.

by lsantos82

8w2d. Having nausea, constipation and headaches. But so happy and blessed to be carrying a new life!

by jessicanyelwillis

my sister, who has had two children and one miscarriage told me that a little brown mucus is fine. that means "old" blood. she says it's red we need to be worried about seeing. that's from her experience...asking your doctor just to be sure never hurts! :)

by mommyandreadawn

Ultrasounds are super exciting but make sure you do your research on them ladies! There are increased chances of baby having hearing troubles... the ultrasound is high frequency sound vibrations being hurled at your baby. I plan on getting only one in the later part of my pregnancy to ensure baby is not breech.

by sweetkatieg

8 Weeks along and Sundays seem to be the worst ALL-Day sickness day I get.

by JusLookLikAYungN

I've had the brown mucas discharge too. Based on my research and OB thoughts...it's totally normal and fine.

I am 8 weeks pregnant today 3/19, we had our first appointment 2 days ago and got to see the baby on the ultrasound! It was amazing =) we saw the little heartbeat and everything. It made all those sick days Ive had well worth it! I go back in two weeks and get to see him/her again, I cant wait!

by mandaray1987

I haven't been nauseous, but I have been HUNGRY! It's a hunger like I've never felt before and I just have to eat more. I see from this week's update that I'm not supposed to show yet, but I know I've already gained some weight - I have a little belly.

by NaomiK10

I am a little over 8 weeks now. This is my third child. I am already showing a slight bump. Is this normal?

by TiffianyH

I am 34 and 8wks preggers with my first child. I am so nervous. All of my family and friends are thrilled. I am so happy for the support system that I have they are all so wonderful. The only problem is my boyfriend is very unsupportive...he is not happy at all and I have been so stressed about it. Everyone tells me he will come around I just never imagined my first pregnancy would be so stressful. How do you deal with the dad not being involved?

by newmommie33

8 weeks and 3 days today. I'm super excited, still playing it safe though. Last week was my first week to be rid of the 24/7 sickness. This weekend I was just really tired. Big and exciting things to come! YEAH :)

The brown discharge could just be from chorionic hematoma. Kinda like a bruise from implatation that usually gets absorbed or bleeds out.

The brown discharge could be chorionic hematoma. Just a kind of bruise that gets absorbed or bleeds out. An ultrasound can identify this. I have one now and am a bit nervous, but all the research I've done shows that it generally clears up on its own.

I am on my second pregnancy. This one is much harder than the first. My morning sicness consists of extreem hunger pains and then nausia when I do eat. I am writing because I did figure out that cutting out the sweets (my cravings) is cutting down on both smptoms. I am really battling on what's worse though. Because the smells in my home (cooking and cleaning supplies)are doubling my "morning" sickness. I also bought an air purifier. It goes in every room with me. It has cut down on half the smells. I hope this helps someone else. It took me 4 weeks to figure it out.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I cant seem to get myself on track. I have morning sickness all day! Just a little walking brings bouts of fatigue and I can't seem to get an appetite. so far, I have lost 9 lbs. I drink ensure and take my prenatal vitamins to ensure that the baby is getting the nutrients it needs but how do I start to feel better? I want to be happy but this feeling is so frustrating. Can anyone give me any advice?

I am also 8 weeks and am nauseous most days, all day! And I have esophageal reflux most days which is worse than the nausea. I have tried Tums but they make a marginal difference. My doctor said that if I am suffering from this gastric upset now, I will most likely have it throughout the pregnancy! I hope she is wrong, it is just something else. I also have started having mild rashes on my body as well.

by eagle3

Yes it's normal to have brown mucus discharge. Do be concerned if its bright red and with heavy flux

by solimar54

Gingersnaps can help with morning sickness or even just the smell of ginger. Mkandah

by mrs.williams09

I'm 8 weeks pregnant. I've been lucky so far with morning sickness. I've only had a couple of mornings where I felt dizzy, but I was fine as soon as I ate something. I have been dizzy, I have taken more naps in the past 2 weeks than I've taken in the past 2 years, and I do have some cramping. The doctor said that the cramping is normal as my muscles are stretching and getting ready to make room for the little one.

by kellisteverson

I'm 8 weeks today!!! So excited can't believe there is like two hundred and something days left.........

by brittleckie

Im 8 weeks today with my first baby. I go to my first Ob apt on Monday and I'm so excited. Luckily I have had no symptoms other than tender breasts. Believe me I know Im lucky but Im having a hard time making this pregnancy reality.

by krs369

I was told my my Doctor that having "spotting" (especially the "brown" stuff) is very common, and happens in about 70% of people during this time. As long as it's not bright red with abdominal cramping you should be good to go!

by melsmith31

I found out today that I am having TWINS...... I am 8 weeks and 3 days along.... What a surprise that was!!

by JenB0328

To Panezott1154--I have the brown mucus discharge, too from 6 to 8 weeks. Have you seen your doctor yet? I am 39, so I called mine. They gave me a blood test to get my hormone levels and everything was great. They told me as long as no cramping or red blood, I was fine. Sex can cause brown discharge.

by luvboxers

I just called my doctor and the brown mucus discharge could be normal, yes, espcially after intercourse (can last up to 3 days after intercourse, an ob appointment or an internal ultrasound). If it turns into red blood or very heavy then contact your doctor immediatly.

by Melindac112000

8 wks and soooo sick!! @ mkandah: 24/7 sickness is definately more like it! its so hard to eat anything! plus im having bad abdominal pains! i feel all outta wack. lol.

by rachellemc07

I''m 8 weeks pregnant today with my first pregnancy and super excited! i have been having morning sickness and bad cramping and have been extremely tired! I'm a little nervous because I have a MTHFR mutation with 2 copies and go to the perinatologist tomorrow to see what precautions I need to take during the pregnancy. hopefully all goes well!

by blushingbride1983

I understand you on the 24/7 all day sickness. I ended up in the hospital, which was a good idea because I got IV fluids and my baby and I are doing much better.

by Ferniesmom

I'm eight weeks today and I feel the fatigue, bloating and cramps. I just cannot wait until I can get to be in my second trimester and my miscarriage rate decreases. :)

by elementslittlepro

ok so ive known about the pregnancy since i was 2 weeks but now at 8 weeks its starting to really set in. the morning sickness kicked in right at 6 weeks but it's starting to let up. ive learned that ginger ale and peppermint helps. i'll be scheduling my first appt next week and im hoping to get my first sono. we're super excited about the pregnancy and it's so cool to have fellow mommys-to-be to share the experience with!

by jrh0298

I am also 8 weeks Pregnant, and this past thursday I got to see the babies heartbeat! I am considered High risk becuase I am diabetic so i am told I will get more ultrasounds that a normal pregnancy. I am super scared as well... since before I found out I was preg. I had little cramps... and the last 2 days they have been MIA.... now i am worried.. i never thohught I would miss cramps....

by Celticfinn

If you are expieriancing discharge, talk to your doctor. This can be normal, but can also be signs of complications. You are always better off asking your doctor than just guessing! I am a mother of 2 and am pregnant with my 3rd and last child. I am also almost an EMT. If you are unsure, play it safe and speak to your doctor!

by Kajira

12 week ultrasound scheduled. Can't wait!

by estlace

I'm 8.5 wks, had my 3rd ultrasound today. I had brown discharge and then slight spotting for a few hours one day and it stopped. Many women have that discharge. I started having ultrasounds since I've had 3 miscarriages. Baby looks great today and has a strong heart beat. If you have cramping or red spotting, call the doctor immediately, or if the discharge lasts for several days give the office a call the nurse will tell you if they need to see you.

by fjb70

8 wks preggers. Cramping, back aches, major fatigue, & loose stool. Don't remember going through this the first time around. Spending a lot of time in bed. Midwife says it's normal. Also, not doing regular monthly exams. Not neccessary if taking care of self & not a high risk. Will get ultra sound @ 3 months to hear heart beat & count appendages, for fun.

by ladyfrog75

I have heard that the brown discharge is normal and I have that as well too. I had read a book written by Jenny McCarthy and she talks about it being normal.

by crazymered

So....I had my first ultrasound yesterday and the doctor measured me at 6 weeks in stead of 8 weeks! We really thought I would be 8 weeks based on my last period. Has this happened to anyone else?

by Tsheehan9

I'm 8 weeks pregnant today, and I find that with my all day "morning" sickness, nothing takes care of it better than a jumobo freezie. I don't know if it's the sugar, or what it is, but its the only thing i'm able to keep down and afterwards, I feel so much better!

by acomte

I have gained 10 lbs and I'm only 8 weeks. My boobs feel about a good 6 or 7 lbs each....maybe that's where it came from??

by redhed37

Hi - I am 8 weeks this week. I haven't suffered from any morning sickness, just very tender boobs and minor cramping. I read that it's normal to be a bit emotional, is anyone else suffering from this? I feel like any little thing can make me sad or bother me..? AND..I a m not normally like this.

by fletcherfarms

I am 8 weeks pregnant. For the morning sickness (aka all doggone day sickness), try Sea Bands. They are a band you wear around your wrist to stave off nausea. Most people use them for sea travel, but they work extremely well for morning sickness. You can find them at your nearest drug store. I hope this helps. Good luck to all the future mommies. :)

by kcsilverlining77

Hi also had the brown discharge for about a week and a half and found out today that our baby is gone.

by estlace

Hi, Im 8.5 weeks prego, and may i say Bloating anyone???? uh! i havenit been getting any morning sickness, or food aversions, but feel like my little gut , that i normally "suck in" during the day with no thought has a mind of its own now- it is soo uncomfortable, and while i can fit in all my clothes , my pants feel as if i just ate christmas dinner - all the time. Does anyone know how to fix this horrible feeling??

by Sarah.and.Steven

by melpey

I am currently 8 weeks and am having a feeling like a "lump in my throat"?? Wondering if anyone else has ever had this. I bought indegestion meds but just don't feel like this is what it is..

by ataylor81

I'm 8 weeks now and really exited. I don't seem to have morning sickness unless i take my pernetal vitamin so the doctor gave me folic acid its a vitamin.

by truD18

I've had all day sickness also...miserable!! The dr gave me some meds that have helped a ton, you should ask about that!

by metiffi

Brown discharge is normal. I am 8 weeks as well and I have that. I was told by my OB that that is only oxidized blood and it is normal. She said that 1 in 3 women bleed in the first trimester and they only get worried about pink or bright red bleeding. Don't worry!!!

by mecmed2009

glad to know the mild abd cramping is normal. I'm having the brownish/pink discharge too...i figured it's due to hormones and/or uterine changes. But it's nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing it!

by ROXIEO

I am 8 weeks regnant with my second child my first child will be 9 in july so we are very excited for our new bumdle of joy.. our son is very excited and has been asking to be a big brother for a long time now :)

Tashamama that sounds just like us! This is our first pregnancy, I'm 8 weeks and we close on our house June 18th! On top of that we are getting a puppy this weekend that we have been on the waiting list for quite some time. Maybe not the smartest idea but hopefully good practice :)

by angelaspaid

I'm about 8 weeks preggers with baby number 2 and also had brown spotting. My Dr. said it's completely normal, but to take it easy for a week after spotting occurs. Hope that helps :)

by jmdsmiley

I'm about 8 weeks preggo will have my first OB appointment this wednesday never posted anything before so not sure how this works or who will see it but felt like finally sharing some news on my pregnancy being that we are trying to keep it as private as possible till its "safe" meaning once the first trimester is over, we have told family and some close friends but no one at work! :P Havent experience vomitting just nauseas through out the day, not sure if that's how i will be for the remaining of the trimester or if i still have the worse to come :S

by ildali

I'm 8 weeks today, first baby, and very scared....excited too. I haven't really had any morning sickness and am beginning to worry why not. I think I've been much more fatigued than normal but that is about the only difference I can tell. Is this normal?

by WilderKohn

the mucus, make sure it isnt got blood or its green!

by chookies84

First child, 8 weeks, go for ultrasound in 3 days! so excited to see our baby!!i cried because my husband ate the rest of the leftovers!!! talk about emotional. Morning sickness all day! So tired, I'm surprised I haven't passed out sleeping on my desk at work! All my jeans are a bit tighter than normal already. I can't wait till the 2nd trimester (rumor has it, it gets easier!) We will see:)

by cateykno

by arizabateman

I'm going to be 8 weeks in 2 days and I've been experiencing the brown discharge (with a slight odor) on and off for the past week and a half. Is this normal? I'm a little worried because my last pregnancy ended in a missed m/c around this same time...

by ladybugjones37

Don't be alarmed about the Brown Discharge. I also had it and went to WebMD and it is just old blood.

by tiffanyrmckenzie

I am sick all day every day. The only relief I had was actually throwing up, and I've only done that once. I just stay nauseous. This can't be healthy...any tips?

by CAW486

ladies with the brown discharge.. do not take any chances with that. no matter how light you are spotting it is still blood. i was in the ER w bleeding I am too 8 weeks and it was diagnosed a problem that when the placenta and cervix was forming together there was a mesh lining of blood that formed and basically... exploded and i experienced bleeding. it was very reassuring to call the Dr. but the Dr. wanted me to put my feet up.. i couldn't do that. don't take chances, ladies.. this is your baby we are talking about!!

by NicLu0311

Ginger is an ABORTIVE and should not be recommended to pregnant women EVER!!!

by rachelpuschkin

im 8wks. got my first ultrasound today and heard the heartbeat! it was very exciting

by ts1981

Im 8 Weeks and we are super excited!! Next week we are moving into our house cant wait!! Panezott1154- I have a white discharge but nothing brown...I would definitely ask my doctor. Barnedmr- You havent had a ultrasound yet?? Oh my that would be drive me crazy. I got one when I was 6weeks to find out the fetal age. It felt so good to know that a budle of joy was in there.

by Brittany01051990

I'm 8 weeks today! It' still so early in the pregnancy, but I'm so terrified about delivery. Everyone I talk to has had a c-section and have felt incredibly violated. I want to have a natural birth but the all think it's unrealistic. :(

by MsAminaNevels

I havent had any discharge. But my Dr. did put me on some progesterone supplements to increase my levels (they were ok, just a tad low. But still within normal range) I havent had any morning sickness yet. So this baby is still surreal for me! WIth my last 2 babies I had it 24/7 & so far just a lot of nausea & hearburn. I did see the baby at my 6 week check up. It was so little but we did see the heart beat! I cant wait for my next apt on July 8th...we get another ultrasound than...I cant wait!! I am high risk (I was with the last baby too) so I get a lot of ultrasounds. That is the only upside to that!

by mommaof3kiddos

I had the same brown discharge. My doctor did an ultrasound just to check but everything was normal. If you've had sex in the past week or Just gone about your normal business it is 100 % normal. If its enough to soak a pad check it our with your doctor.

by hwitb127

i'm 8 weeks... tired... usually a little nauseous all the time... busy at work... and can't wait til my next OB appt in two weeks! i hope everything is ok in there...

by javerri

Normal for you to show this early with you 4th child lol right! duh i know.Anyone else where i am?

by mamma23

I had my first apt today along with an ultra sound. The Dr said we would not check for a heart beat since the chances of hearing it this early would be 1 in 100. As she was doing the ultrasound, she must have thought to give it a try. We heard it loud and clear. She looked at me with a "did you hear that?" look. She was as excited as we were!

by daisy2377

by Virginia90

Im getting my first ultrasound this week, really excited about it! I know I'm not going to see much, but its my first! How can I not be uber-stoked!

by knewbs

I'm 8 weeks too and have had very similar symptons as the ones below. I feel soo tired all the time and hungray but when I eat something it makes me nauseous or like I'm full. Just can't win. We had first U/S on Wednesday - very cool! Our lil blueberry was approx 1 inches and its heart was beating 143 bpm. I can't wait for U/S and OB visit in week 12.

by kmagu3

I'm in the same position, first child and closing on our first home on 7/28. Congrats on all of your first! I know how busy you feel :)

I am 8 weeks along and have been lightly spotting brown blood the past 3 days. I went to my doctor today, and baby is perfectly fine! She said it is very normal to spot throughout the pregnancy, however it's always a good idea to let your doctor know about it. Not only does it give them a heads' up, it gives you all the assurance you need as well!

by mariagonzalez7

I am just over 8 weeks along and I am nauseus all day long and throw up at least 3-4 times a week. Don't know about the ginger but sprite with ice makes me feel so much better. Last week I had bright red blood when I whiped after intercourse, made an emergency appt with the doc for an U/S and everything was great! Doc says bleeding occurs because you're uterus and cervix are stretching and very swollen, and sudden movement that hits the inside can tear. Doc also told me that if I am EVER scared or nervous to call him immediatley, no question is to small or unimportant when it comes to the health of you're lil' peanut and you. Anyways that is what we pay them for isn't it? 02/14/2011

by LILFOOT3184

I'm not sure that it is normal Panezott1154. I would just call a nurse at your regular Dr.'s office and ask her about it. It will probably bring you comfort so you don't have to worry.

by mikemaria

brown mucus discharge is also happening to me...! what is it and why is it happening?

by pmoji001

I am also 8 weeks prego and have been very lucky. I have had no morning sickness. The worst part is I am always hungry and my breasts have already outgrown my bra. My husband is surprised by the size of them from 8 weeks ago. All I have to say is they hurt!

by agaubatz

i'm 8 weeks today :) no morning sickness, VERY sore breasts and mild cramping. i'm so excited i'm prenant and can't wait to find out what we're having !!!!!

I am 8 weeks today and soooo excited this is me and my husbands first and we actually just bought our first house in January. I can't wait to start decorating the baby room. I had an ultrasound last week and we got to hear the heartbeat, it was the most amazing thing I have ever heard. You can never forget that sound.

by tkamp182

I'm 7 weeks and 6 days today. I'm sooooo excited because I got an ultrasound done today & I saw my babies lil heartbeat.

by icyice

Its amazing how different each pregnancy can be. I'm about 8wks pregnant with my 2nd child, and its TOTALLY different. With my daughter I was sick ALL DAY, EVERYDAY for the 1st trimester. However with this baby I've only gotten sick a handful of times, yet I'm tired all the time. I can already tell how different these 2 will be. :)

by ashann87

I'm definitely having some cramping..and when I sneeze, oh my! It hurts! I was afraid at first, but I've read several women get this. My appointment is Monday, so hopefully I will get a lot of questions answered and see my lil one :D

by BabyShipp

Im 8 weeks pregnant and have very sore breasts. Any suggestions for pain relief besides pills?

by babyvenga

Im exactly 8 weeks pregant today. the brown stuff is completely normal. I had the first ultra sound on Monday. Its so cool to see our baby. Its our first together and his second. The all day sickness is no fun and to top it off im always hungry. 3am hunger pains are waking me up.

by applepear12

I am 8 weeks pregnant today with my second but my first is 10 years old so it is almost like my first again and I am lucky enough to not have the morning (aka all day) sickness. on the other hand I am hungry all the time and wake up almost every morning (3 AM ish) with hunger pains sometimes so bad that I have no choice but to get up and find something to eat. my first OB and Ultrasound is Aug 4th and I can't wait to see my baby

by kristen102779

I am 8 weeks prego and i am already showing a little bit but i was already a little overweight to begin with but i have lost 10 lbs since finding out i am prego 2 weeks ago! but not in my belly or my boobs LOL Everywhere else though! my tastebuds are so weird...i dont like anything i used to like...and can never make up my mind so i force myself to eat good stuff and the occasional pizza :-) i have been have mild to moderate cramping in my lower abdomen....is any one else having that???? i hear its normal just checking

by amaemae77

I'm 8weeks today, Had my very first ultra sound today. Baby is the size of a little peanut :) Didn't get to see much but I did get to see the heart beat! Hubby and I are very excited

by Robyn0007

I went to the doctor for my first US last week. Baby is great but they said I was 10 days behind from the measurements. Does this happen often?

by vickycat

About 8 weeks and had first OB appointment today. Saw and heard heartbeat on sonogram. The absolutely most amazing thing I have ever seen!! It made it all so very real.

by sueselsII

@mkandah, drink lots of water my OB said it will help delute the hormone so you wont feel as sick. Also eat a couple small meals every 2 hours. It has really worked for me. Brown mucus is normal it's similar to spotting. Spotting and cramping is also normal according to my OB if you worried just call your doc and ask. Im sure they wouldnt ming and it would make you feel better as well.

by chelsealdb

I am 8 weeks today and I was told by by nutritionist that because I have been drinking a lot of lemonade that its probably why I haven't been getting any morning sickness...which is great!!! We are so excited this is our first.

I've been having brown discharge as well, and it scared me SO badly. I saw my OB on Monday, she checked my cervix and said that everything looked fine, and that it could be the tail end of implantation bleeding (which I haven't experienced until just now). But we're having an ultrasound on Friday to be sure. It's so nice to know that I'm not alone in this!

@MsAminaNevels - Check out the documentary "The Business of Being Born." It focuses mainly on home births, but gives good information about stikcing up for your birth plan if you want to have a natural birth. As long as you're healthy, not a high risk pregnancy, and the baby isn't in distress, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to have a natural birth. The two things I've learned is that you should find a practitioner who respects your wishes and a hospital that offers what you want, and will give you time to deliver - not rush you out (C-section) so they can clear your bed.

i'm 8 weeks pregnant! as well i'm sick 24/7, no vomitting, but the thought of eating makes me nauseous. as well, standing makes me nauseous ! so showers, and leaving the couch, are few and farrr between. and though i'm EXTREMELY exhausted, i can't sleep at night. i just lay there, wide awake! =[

I am 8 weeks pregnant and my first ob appt is not until September 1, and my first ultrasound is Sept. 30.....does this seem too far away to anyone else? I don't have any concerns yet, I am just tired and have a low appetite, minor indigestion. I was hoping to see the doctor much sooner....Any suggestions?

I will be 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow and have had lots of nausea for the past two weeks. I have yet to vomit but it really stinks feeling sick all the time. This is the first child for my husband and I so we are ecstatic. Just went out yesterday and bought a bigger car to make sure everything is going to fit. I know it's still really early but I can't wait to find out the sex. I want to start shopping! Congrats to the rest of you!

I am approximately 8 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy so I'm excited and terrified. My first appointment is 8/10 which will be the inital prenatal blood work, exam etc. I have my questions ready so I'm looking forward to the visit. Can't wait until our first ultrasound.

I am 8 wks too...and have had the brown mucus discharge for a few weeks now. They recently found out I have a very small subchorionic hemorrhage, which they are telling me isn't too serious as long as it stays small. I have weekly u/s to check fetal growth. As long as baby is growing, things are fine. I also had my progesterone levels checked b/c I think that could be causing the discharge too, but haven't gotten results back yet.

by abktwo

I'm super grateful that I haven't been too sick =) Just some heartburn and cramping, but I haven't thrown up at all!

by HayleeLynn89

I saw someone said they found out about twins? Did you have any signs or indicators letting you know this? I am pregnant with my fourth, I have never been sick, had headaches, or so tired with any of my other pregnancy's. I have it in my family, and just wondered if there were any clues? Thanks for the input!!

by nicole34

I cannot believe that I am 8 weeks already! I have been extremely nausaus and today just couldnt bring myself to get out of bed.

by MandyD82

Congratulations ladies! I am 8 weeks, almost 9 with my first, still having 24/7 sickness. The past two days have been better. If you feel you cant reach for anything in the morning to ease the nausea, grab a pop sicle, such as am otter pop, or a fla-vor-ice. The sugar can help. I cannot keep crackers down what-so-ever, so my mother-in-law brought me Matzos. They are like crackers, but are made to be more bread like. They have a great flavor, and they are my saving grace! Anything sweet helps, so suck on a Jolly Rancher, or a fruity Life Saver. It really helps! good luck ladies!

by soltanovich

Did my sprint tri yesterday,, felt great! Half marathon in October. First US is on the 11th. Woohoo!!! Exercise does help eliminate morning sickness!

by KK1974

I'm 8 weeks with my first child! My husband and I are so excited!! But this all day sickness is kicking my butt!! Yesterday i ate fruit now today I can't!! The only thing that seems to help my all day sickness is cashews and gatorade. I will be so glad when this is over!!!

by 88keyswife

I'm 8 weeks one day today and we had an ultrasound this morning! It was amazing to see that little tiny baby in there! I also have had a little pinkish brown discharge. The nurse said it's really normal right now since the placenta is still attaching so there might be little bits of blood mixed in with the mucus. Obviously if you have lots of bleeding you should go in but it also said in my Fit Pregnancy weekly email that if you see a tiny bit it's normal at this stage. I hope that helps someone else too!

by SparklyCakeLady

@ Panezott1154 I'm freaking out over here b/c I am experiencing the same discharge.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a prenatal yoga dvd?

by latrebesh

I guess I got lucky, I haven't had any morning sickness. No cramping. A little bit of a discharge, which I thought was an infection... It's not. I have my second doc appt 8/23 and I'm hoping to get our first sonogram then. I don't feel much different from not being preggo, aside from EXTREME fatigue.

by Llanos1111

I'm a little over 8 weeks with my third child. I don't know why I'm so stressed and nervous this time around. I have horrible dreams from losing the baby to couples I love getting divorces and more. Looking forward to my next appt.

I am supposedly 8 weekz pregnant. My first ultrasound is in less than a week. I asked my obgyn when we will get to hear the heartbeat... they said 12 weekz. i think this is very wrong. opinionz?

by jade8491

I'm 8weeks and 1day and I been sick and tired and breasts are growing it feel like I have a long way to go.

by 757Tiffany

I amk 8 weeks pregnant, have had some spotting and cramping periodically. I had my first ultrasound to rule out reasons why I was spotting. Everything looked great! I saw the heartbeat and even what looks like ears! I have some fibroids which has lead to spotting after sex. From all the reading I have done about spotting and talking to my Dr, its pretty NORMAL. ALOT of women spot during their first trimester. Just take it easy. If there is heavy bleeding, similar to a period, go to the ER... Otherwise, breath easy... and congrats!

by susanjennings25

When will all this dizziness end:????

by Chona21

im 8.5 weeks today and got my first ultrasound.. the heart rate was 191..is that normal?

by ssnl2004

yeah crackers were helpful for the first couple weeks now they taste rotten and disgusting. I'm finding what tastes good one day tastes like throw-up the next. baby's getting a lot of variety in her diet! (im guessing its a girl. but this early who knows :-D)

by mrandmrsbrtva

Hello Moms.. This is my 3rd pregnancy but my first 2 we're lost. I normally don't write on these walls but after reading a few I had too.. A little back history, In 2008 I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy. I didn't know I was pregnant but I did have heavy black blood for weeks. It took a while to figure out but the baby was behind my ovary. Had surgery and a D&C and luckily nothing was removed besides the fetus. My 2nd pregnancy was planned. We tried for 7 months and finally conceived. At our 10 week ultrasound to see the heartbeat we learned that the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. I had a missed miscarriage b/c I had not expelled anything nor had cramping. I WAS having light brown discharge for about a week to a week and a half before that. I knew something was wrong I could just feel it. I regret not going to the dr. before my appt but I didn't. I dont want to worry anyone that's having brown discharge even if its light go to the Dr. Brown discharge is never a normal thing from what I have read since. On a lighter note... 2 months after we started trying again we're pregnant! I am 8 weeks and scared to death.. this next 4 weeks is the most critical for me. We have heard the heartbeat at 6 weeks which was beautiful (and my first time ever hearing a heartbeat) and have another appt at 11weeks to hear it again. I pray for a healthy strong baby! Good luck to everyone! Sorry if I upset anyone I just wanted you to know.. I looked online at every article when I was having brown spotting and saw nothing definite. Best wishes A.

i had my first ultrasound this week and saw my little one and its heart! sooo tiny and one BIG head :) so excited! so far, so good - slight cramping once and awhile and I AM SO TIRED!

by BerlinMum

I'm 29 years old and expecting my third baby, I'm a teacher and I'm feeling very tired and exhausted beside the fact that I cannot retain food, and I'm so hungry but I'm scared to vomit here in school in front of my class so I try not to eat till the afternoon when my stomach settles a little more. Other than that I am very excited and cannot wait to have my third baby in my arms.

by cncbesos54

mkandah - I was sick like that for about a week and a half. I even ended up going to the er because I was dehydrated! Be careful if you cant keep anything down. I hate hospitals but they took really good care of me and I feel much better now!!

by leeshpizzasticks

8 weeks pregnant today! This is our first, every week closer to the end of the 1st trimester the more excited I let myself be. Ultrasound is scheduled for next Thursday it is very scary and very exciting at the same time. Hoping that it will be normal.

by TheresaTaylor

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and the 24/7 sickness is killing me! I keep reminding myself it's a good thing though. This will be our first child...we're both really excited and anxious. We've set some financial goals for ourselves so we can buy a house before the baby is 3. Hope that works our for us. :-)

by badrelijen

I am 8 weeks pregnant and completely miserable. Totally excited about the baby but if im not nauseous im exhausted. My cloths are getting tight and just the thought of sex makes me want hurl. I hope this doesnt last to much longer!!

by Butterfly0314

My husband and I have just bought our first house and I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first child! We are super excited. I don't feel pregnant at all i'm just extremely tired, always cold (even when it's hot out), heartburn and sore breast. I'm hope and pray these are the only side effects I get (knock on wood). Good luck everyone :)

by Lillyd

I am 8 weeks as well... Very scared and excited at the same time... I have not felt any morning sickness at all. I just started to notice that I do feel exhausted and my boobs are tender...also I miss sushi and wine!!!!!!

by Jtransit18

I am 8 weeks pregnant today!!! I am super excited... I have no more breast tenderness, and I have not vomitted yet!! Besides the constant Y.I. that have occured twice already thats about all thats bad... I found out so0o early that I feel like my weeks are taking so long... But its all worth it...

by kcody1129

Zofran, zofran, ZOFRAN! Get it from your doc cuz it's a miracle! I was so queasy I didn't know how I was gonna go to work. My doctor gave me a script for Zofran and I'm a thousand times better! I still get nauseated if I don't eat in time but I don't wake up feeling terrible and I can actually eat now! It's safe for baby too! It's a class B drug.

by Wideyedbubbles

I am officially 8 weeks today 9/24/10. I quit smoking cold turkey when we found out we were preggo and now I can smell EVERYTHING. I am nauseous most of the day, but worst than that is the constipation. I would seriously give up my vacation days at work if it meant that I could go to the bathroom and be satisfied. And having to take 5 metamucil pills as a daily dose is a JOKE!

by rave2663

I had morning sickness for about four months with my last pregnancy and now I can not keep anything down. Gravol makes me feel worse, ginger does nothing and I can't drink enough water to save my life... it just will not stay down... Can anyone out there offer any suggestions?

by ShanaleeSmith

I'm 18, 8 weeks prego, and scared shitless.

Im 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant (my first) that 24/7 sickness is brutal! Felt like a 24/7 hangover! I tried EVERYTHING! ginger gum, preggie pops, ovaltine, saltines, ginger ale, sea bands.... nothing worked..... ask your doctor for zofran! best thing ever and it doesnt make you sleepy!

by Danielle6983

After intercourse I started bleeding and now it's the second day and I am spotting....What's going on? Is the baby okay or is something wrong? No cramping and not heavy bleeding.

by naiak2001

I had the brown stuff too! it totally freaked me out yesterday. I havent had as much today...I just want everything to be okay.

by benoliviaallen

I'm 8 weeks today and I'm exhausted - over the weekend i took two naps per day and I only lasted at work from 9am - 4pm before heading home. At one point around 2pm i even rested my head on the desk!

by clyminkat

Wow! It is crazy how everyone experiences such different feelings/symptoms. I am 8 weeks today and am on my second week of all-day nausea! It really feels like a persistent hang-over. I am also in my last 5 months of nursing school. Zofran really does work! This is my first pregnancy. Normally, I eat several small meals throughout the day, but I am actually finding that I really don't get hungry that often. Coupled with the nausea, I feel like I am having to force myself to eat something every few hours. As for the fatigue and tender breasts, I don't feel like it is as bad as it was the first 3-4 weeks. I do have one question. The constipation is terrible!!!!!! Any suggestions on coping? After two weeks of absolutely no coffee, I tried a few sips yesterday and today. Still not helping. I am now trying FiberSure in my OJ. I would love some advise for this. What weight I have gained, I am pretty sure is due to this!

by arw0924

I am 8 weeks too and feeling sick ALL THE TIME, not just mornings. It's hard to eat and KEEP anything at all. I hope this passes soon. I can handle getting sick but feeling sick constantly is so hard!

by PattiWaggin

I am 8 weeks 3 days.... I am getting excited to know that the baby is growing inside of me... but it's still not totally real! Even my husband is talking and rubbing and protecting my belly. Our first prenatal visit went horribly, so I am looking forward to the next one at the end of the month with a different NP.

by califsweetie

For those of you who have been having morning(or all day) sickness, they have accupressure bands called SeaBands at your pharmacy or at boat sale stores. They were made for motion sickness but work amazingly well to completely get rid of my nausea. You wear them around your wrists, and it puts pressure on a nerve that interferes with the signal telling your brain that you are nautious. They have been a lifesaver for me. I haven't been naseated at all since I got them.

by lblarkin

I am 8 weeks pregnant too for the first time! I am so nervous/scared too, but excited! Just hoping for the best. I had my 1st ultrasound last week (7 weeks). It was great. I got to see the little blueberry :) that is making me nauseous! It's so worth it. I cant wait til i go back in 3 weeks for my next ultra sound. Hopefully ill get to hear the hearbeat this time instead of just seeing it!

I am aproximately 8 weeks the last three weeks have been a little scary because at 5 weeks I had some spotting. I have two other children and I never had spotting with them. I went to have an ultrasound and the technician said she couldn't find anything. I went and had another ultrasound yesterday at a different place and the technician saw the baby. it was on the left side. the first tech didn't even look on the left she didn't see why she had to do the ultrasound so early. Has anyone else experience this with ultrasound technicians?

by LizzieB69

The brown mucus everyone is worrying about is just old blood working its way out. Just how blood does during your period. Its nothing to worry about unless your getting bright red or clotting discharge. Your fine tho. Its normal to have some brown discharge and/or spotting. Enjoy your babies. :) I'm 8 weeks too.

by kmimitz

I am 8 weeks tomorrow!!! It has went very fast so far but cant wait for 3 weeks until i can hear the heartbeat and we are in the military so usually they dont do a ultrasound until 20 weeks :( Lame!!!! but about the sickness.. I have been horribly nauseated and sooo exhausted. My boobs are aching so bad. I just feel like all my energy is gone and It is so emotional and really hard to deal with. Cause I am usually so active and busy. and trying to deal with a 6 yr ols. I finally went to the ER and got Zofran and it does work but for me some days I feel great now and some I am still feeling sick. I have tried all the tricks and preggy pops and ginger and crackers.. That stuff doesnt work.. But the Sea band bracelets worked the best so far out of all of it!!!!! good Luck Ladies

I am 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant. This is my first pregnancy. I have been having horrific nightmares for the last couple weeks. Is anyone else having this problem? Some nights I have 2-3 nightmares! Between that and peeing every two hours at night, I am so drained all day that I can't get anything done. Help!

by MrsReinhardmom2b

To: ARW0924 and other caffeine withdrawal or constipated mothers to be: I used to drink a pot of coffee or more a day, when my hubby and I started talking about trying to conceive, I cut down to 1-3 cups a day. Since learning about my pregnancy, I have tried to cut it out completely. Now that I have been so constipated, and so tired, I was completely frustrated... BUT I found something that is working for me. I have been drinking the swiss miss 25 calorie hot chocolate in the morning. Just one cup. It gives me just a little pick me up, and has helped the constipation too. I have been drinking it for about three days now, and it has relieved my constipation so much, that I haven't even thrown up! I still get nausea of course, but pregnancy just feels so much better with a little hot chocolate! Try it!

by MrsReinhardmom2b

by fabonlois59

I must say that I have a 5 year old and 2 year old and am now pregnant with my third and for the first time I am not dying of morning sickness. I thought I was going to die with my first two pregnancies and now Im fine. Maybe Im being rewarded for my suffering of the last two! Good luck ladies....Remember, the sickness cant last forever!

by jencastorri

I am also 8 weeks. I have been feeling good other than dealing with Nausea and exhaustion. I saw my OB at almost 6 weeks and had my first ultra sound. I could see flickering- what the dr. says was a small heartbeat and a small circular object - baby! The brown discharge is okay ladies, dr. says it is to be expected throughout pregnancy in small amounts. As your uterus changes and grows you can expect the mucous to come out but if you get large amounts, clots, or bright red blood call your dr. immediately. Feel good everyone!

by missyp24

Still so queasy. I'm not sure if it's the baby or the vitamines? I get hungry and eat and then at night I don't feel so well. Hope the 2nd trimester goes much better and I feel great!

by msmandia1

Hi ladies, regarding the brown mucus, everything that I've read says it's not blood it's just mucus. It's actually normal at 8 weeks to be having this discharge. I was so freaked out when I first had it but everything is fine. It can actually be brown, yellow, or orange even, you just need to watch out for red. It can even be pinkish. It's basically just from the crazy hormonal changes our body is going through and adjusting too. Hope this helped! :)

by MrsCilia

hello ladies i'M 8 weeks and 4 day pregnant. This is my second pregnancy I miscarried my first at 8 1/2 weeks. I hope this time around everything will turn out ok. I'm not feeling any morning sickness with this one But I am feeling a lot of heart burn which really sucks but I guess our little peanut is gonna have a lot of hair so they say anyway :)

by Robyn0007

hey Im dezy, im 8 weeks pregnant this monday, and i went to the e.r on friday bc i wasnt feeling right and i thought there was something wrong with the baby. so i went in, and they took tests and blood samples and my pee sampple and did a pelvic chek and everything was PERFECT!! so they did a sonogram and ultra sound, and they couldnt find my left overy bc it was hidden, but i saw the little lump of a baby that was in my tumy! oh i was so happy!! doctors told me long ago that i couldnt have children, but im having one due in june! while she was giving me the ultra sound, I HEARD THE BABYS HEART BEAT!! it took my breath away, and tears came to my eyes, this is truely a sign from god, eveything is just wonderful!

by dezzymathis

I'm in my 8th week.... I've had morning sickness 24/7 for the past 5 weeks since I found out about being pregnant. I'm so exhausted that the only way I make it through an 8 hour work day is to take a 45 minute nap in the back seat of my truck on my lunch hour... and when I get home I'm too exhausted to move. I'm behind in my classes (I'm in my masters program in grad school) because I have no energy to do anything and fall asleep while working on homework. I normally do homework during lunch but now that is nap time so I can finish my work day out. I've gained 2 pant sizes and feel huge even though I'm really not showing... I'm overweight and was to begin with. I've gained 20 pounds though... explain that one! My boobs hurt so bad if I as so look at them I want to cry... and I have to unsnap my bra and sit there for 10 minutes before I take it off. This is my 3rd baby and my two girls were completely opposite pregnancies but none were like this. I have heartburn like crazy which I've had with my girls too. Oh and I have 5 moods that I can do in 1 minute!!! My fiance has been amazing. Our wedding date is set for New Years Day.

by May1Bridetobe

Panezott brown discharge is pretty normal it is what is often known as implantation or burrowing. Should only be worried when it is red or passing clots

by JenniferYvon

by d1va1990

I am 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant with our would be 3rd baby. We were pregnant last year with twins but we lost them when I was 8 weeks and 3 days along. So we are a little scared that we may loose the baby. But we are keeping are fingers crossed.

by sherryahare

I am 8 weeks pregnant with our fourth child. This one was a huge surprise. We have two graduating high school the same month that we are due. I have been major sick and tired with this one. Finally got Zofran from the doc. First US 11/11! YAY!

by jenalex72

Does anyone know how many week are you when you start to show???

by babyjones25

Does anyone else feel like being pregnant means being a bummer to the hubby? I love my husband, but feel like I'm cranky, sick, and tired all the time. Wish I could do something extra special to let him know how much I love him even though I don't feel well now...any ideas?

by AutumnRE

I am 8 weeks today and still in shock that I'm having my first baby at 34!! Went to the doc's yesterday and now I'm having a brownish discharge. It's kin of scary considering I had 2 miscarriages a while ago. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat and see my baby. Super excited

by pjones94

Babyjones25 I was thinking the same thing, maybe at 12 weeks or so. I also depends on the person and their body. My clothes no longer fit the way they use to but I don't see a big different in my stomach considering a had a little pouch before my pregnancy. How old is your post? Didi you start showing yet? I have an emergency appt today 11/8/10 because my spotting is still here from the pap smear. Some of my friends says it's fine but others say I shouldn't have done it. I do you know what to do when you find out your pregnant. Praying my baby is ok. Good luck

by pjones94

Hello ladies- I am 8 weeks and just had my ultrasound! It was amazing to see the heartbeat on something so little! I am sue that most of you feel nausea....I have been using sea bands on my wrist- they help with motion sickness but have been great for morning sickness also!!!

by mmaine

I'm at 8 weeks with my first baby, and besides being sleepy and not having a period, I'm not really showing any typical symptoms and discomforts of pregnancy i.e. breast tenderness, morning sickness, cramps, ect. I have shown 5 out of 5 positive tests--2 blood draws that proved my hCG was going up, a urine test at the doctors, and 3 at home tests, so I know I'm SURELY pregnant. I just worry that not having a lot of these symptoms means that there's something wrong with me or the baby. I'm taking my prenatals--New Chapter Organics, eating healthy and my job isn't very high stress. I'm okay, aren't I?

Going in for another ultra sound on Friday - I can't wait!

by Miraclebabymomma

I am 8 weeks pregnant, and just found out we are having identical twins! What a shock that was! I am so excited and scared. my emotions are out of control!

by lipps375

Im 8 weeks and I am always tired no energy to do anything, ladies is there anything that i cant eat, do , or take to get me back up on my feet again? I have two children that need their mom.

by TierraG

I just hit my 8 week marker yesterday! I was a little worried about some cramping that I was having but I guess this is supposed to be normal - luckily no discharge but I'm staying super aware incase anything looks out of the ordinary. Considering this will be our first child, everything is very out of the ordinary for us but we couldn't be happier :) Sending out happy thoughts to all the other mommies out there!

by ExpectingandExcited

I have found that a great way to deal with the "morning" sickness is with mint tea and preggie pops. though, my dr. did recently prescribe Zofran to me, and it seems to be working. eating helps too :) it is difficult though, because sometimes NOTHING looks appetizing to me, but you just have to force yourself to eat it.

by heidipeterson

I'm exactly 8 weeks and exhausted! Nausea, back pain, even starting to show. Ginger gum helps with the nausea. Seeing the ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat was great!

by MarchMay03

I am 8 weeks and 3 days. It is comforting to read these comments because now I know that I am not alone in some of this. My hubbie and I got married in March and planned to wait a year before trying but the pill was making me so sick that I had to stop taking them...so here we are...8 weeks preggers and excited and scared at the same time. I have lost 15 pounds and the harder I try to eat...the more I puke and the more weight I lose. I really don't want to do anything harmful to the baby. I can't wait until the sickness passes.

by ttw6155

KNOCK ON WOOD-No Morning Sickness yet and were 8 weeks going strong!!! However I am super super SUPER tired still and my boobs feel like they're the size of a LARGE BLDG.

by walshrhonda

im 8 weeks today and OMG i am always hungry, or queasy, and often both. I have already gained 3 pounds womp womp womp! Family is coming in town in a few days and we will be spilling the news, that is unless of course they guess just by looking at my ravenous appetite, roller coaster emotions, car crash fatigue and the belly im ALREADY sporting.

by lifestillsweet

Panezott1154, dont want to scare you but please go to your dr and have your numbers checked. I had a blighted ovum that started with a dark discharge. good luck

by dsotomayor

Definitely sick of ginger ale! I take a ginger capsule (found at natural food store) as needed, and it seems to help. 24/7 sickness is exactly right for some people. Mine comes and goes all day, never know when it's gonna hit. Ugh!!

by lolasbaby4

Super excited to pregnant, but I don't feel like my husband is (though this was planned). Any advice for getting him interested in this whole process?

by 714baby

Aww its so exciting to see so many new "mommies" excited about their first baby!!! I am also 8 wks. I have 14 yr. old. twin boys and a 7yr. girl. Im hoping for multiples again!!! I know crazy right. Well, Im 34 and want to be done!! I started feeling a little queasy about a week and a hal ago and it seems constant (all day) but nothing major like running to the toilet. I am surprised however, that this pregnancy seems easier than I thought it would be at my age. I havent been fighting exhaustion like I did with my two previous pregnancies. I have to say... .I dont think my breasts EVER felt this sore and larger and I recorded everything with my last two. Good luck ladies!

by chica_boricua25

I was just wondering has anyone bought one of the fetal monitors at home.... Im suppose to be eight weeks pregnant, but my fist appt isnt until 12/27, and i found my babies heart beat one the monitor at home and its not suppose to work until 12 weeks...? any advice, could i be a month farther along?

by kaylachurch024

I am almost 9 weeks pregnant with our first child i am reallly excited but i am sick all the time so that kinda takes away from the excitement!! I have my fist doctors app on 12/28 and i am supper excited i have had a ALOT of cramping though but i guess from what i read thats normal!!!

by mdietrich

I am a first-timer, about 8 weeks and it amazes me how fast they grow! Just two weeks ago, the woman conducting the ultrasound told me our baby was only the size of a grain of rice!

by Courters71911

Emotions and hormones are RAGING! I'm 8 weeks 2 days with my first..I miscarried in June at 9 weeks...just turned 40 on the 7th :)...I'm super excited as I have lived a fulfilled life and looking forward to this new turn...

by firstat40

this is my first, and i hate the sickness, just feel sick all of the time and i am getting fed uo of this now, had two weeks of this only getting worse and now i cant stand it any longer. Ginger not working for mr=e tried everything nothing works. Going off food but wanting something dont know what it is its driving me crazy

by kazb25

I am 8 weeks today and i had my first OB visit and had an ultrasound. This is our first child as well. I am full of emotions. Excited, happy, scared a little bit of everything. But, most important we will so blessed. this is the BEST Christmas gift ever! Not a severe morning sickness thankfully. Just queazy and a tummy ache at times. Congrats to all you wonderful mommys!

by MommyVani

I'll be a full 9 weeks pregnant tomorrow with our first baby :) I've felt nauseas the whole time until a week ago when I started to feel great! Only, now this week I've thrown up everyday, sometimes more than once. I'm ready to get the the feeling great all the time part!

by youremyblade

Panezott1154- I had heaving bleeding and cramping and was misdiagnosed with a miscarriage only to find out when I went in to see if I needed a D&C that the baby was fine. Ask your doctor about the brown mucus (I had it too but so do other I know who didn't have bleeding) and if you don't think they're listening go elsewhere.

by Jesstastic

Im about 7 to 8 weeks i have my first ob appointment next week an we are super excited since this will be our first child. we were so shocked cause all my doctors told me i couldnt have kids so now i cant wait for my little one to be here an to hear her or his heartbeat is guna be great

by baburkard713

@ Panezott1154 The same thing is happening to me along with bloody spotting. My sister says its normal, but I'm still freaking out :(

by violentlee7

im 8 weeks and sleep has never been so precious! im tired all the time and morning sickness...try all day everyday sickness! ugh! very excited though!!

by ebrown15

my girlfriend introduced me to the SEA BANDs. they have helped me a ton with the nausea. They sale them at walgreens and other pharmacies for about $12! life savers!!!!!

by ebrown15

Call your doctor if you have brown spotting. I had it and she had me come in just to be on the safe side. They did an ultrasound and took blood. Everything was fine but I felt much better hearing it from the doctor.

by Scout14

So I'm 8 weeks and my first OB*GYN appointment is next Tuesday. I'm excited. Though it seems to be mostly blood draws and medical history and diagnostic, I think I'm going to finally get the official "yes, you truly are pregnant" seal. I get a wave of nausea every once in a while in the evenings, but so far nothing spectacular. No wait... My boobs are spectacularly sore! Congrats ladies! @mkandah, you sound like my younger sister with her pregnancies! Bless your heart. Hopefully it will pass at the end of this trimester and isn't anything like she had to go through: gallstones! Best to you!

by aishabryant

8 weeks and one day! sick off and on and very very tired. OMG im tired! and already showing. Cant wear my old jeans anymore! LOL! My body looks so funny right now! At first I thought it was just chubby tummy..but its not flabby or squishy or rolly! I am so happy and scared! got to see the heart beat last week! Lil thing looked like a peanut/sea monkey/alien! Hard to believe that will grow into a beautiful little person soon!

by miraclemommy2011

I'm 8 weeks pregnant today! Can't believe this is happening!!! I have my first ultrasound on Tuesday, and I'm hoping things go well... I'm a little anxious due to a loss before... trying to stay calm because things are so much better this time around. Definitely feeling that sickness and sore boobs.... and boy am I tired!!!! I'm in the same boat as miraclemommy2011, where NONE of my jeans are fitting me!... Sweatpants have become my best friend... hoping the u/s goes well, and that we'll see a beautiful heart beat on the screen.

by ThatLisaGirl

We are 8 weeks with our first, and are very excited! I just wish the sickness would take a hike (though it's only been a week so far), and today, I discovered a bald patch on my head $#!%!!! Anyone else suffering hair loss? I have noticed a lot in the last few weeks, and reading the "relax, it's normal" crap is not helping XD I guess it's one more thing to add to the listof questions for the doctor. Prayers and blessing to all us beginners < />

by skoolgrrl69

I am 8 weeks 2 days. No sickness. Some nasuea also some brownish mucusy stuff too but after sex. Read this was normal but i'm waiting until tomorrow to ask my dr at my first appt. =) This is my first, my fiances 2nd. We are very excited but also I am super scared. I am a type 1 diabetic which makes me "high-risk". Super excited tho...=)

by JessicaM091

I am finally 8wks today! This is my husband and I's first little one. We are so excited to add this addition to our family. He or she will have 2 adorable cousins to look out for them and lots of Aunts and Uncles since my husband is from a big family. Last week we were able to get an ultra sound and hear the heartbeat. We were both estatic!! Now just counting down the days to Feb 2nd which is my next appointment. Then will get to see our little one again!!

by akreikemeier

First doctors appt (at 8 weeks) went well. My doctor is AMAZING and answered all my questions. To those of you who mentioned spotting after your first appt with a pap, my doctor said that it is completely NORMAL:-) So don't worry! The fatigue I'm experiencing is intense. I literally almost fall asleep to and from work (while driving!!!) My stomach gets upset when I drink caffeine, so that's out. Anyone have ideas how to keep myself awake??

by moniturn

So when 7 wks hit I developed MS...now at 8 wks I am so queasy all the time and when I take my prenatals I throw them up (I found taking them at night helps a lot). So emotional and tired all the time, but there is lots to do, I am planning my wedding on 2/26/11! First baby and I am so excited!

by nikki4813

I found out I was about 8 weeks pregnant this past Sunday, January 8, 2011 when I went to the ER because I was feeling like crap. There they told me that I was pregnant!

by missmarisa86

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my 4th pregnancy. The brown mucus is OK, as long as it stays brown. I had slight brown discharge in approx. my 8th week with my 1st two pregnancies and all was great. I didn't have it with my 3rd until my miscarriage started, and then it was bright red and painful. Best of luck to all the new mommies, it will be a long summer, I'm sure!!

by Mrs271

Being pregnant with a 9 month old at home sure is harder than just being pregnant!

by cassidysusan

Hello all moms! As like most of you i am in my 8th week as well. I see a lot of you are experiencing the same things from cramping to the 24/7 sickness. Like mkandah i don't want to look at food therefore i hardly eat. I am pushing myself to eat something but man food is the most disgusting thing ever! lol

by jenniekeating

I think that I was never prepared for this. lol I seem to have EVERY symptom!!! I am exhausted, constantly sick (had a 2 week reprieve and it came back with force today), and cramping. I actually was in the er when I was 6 weeks 5 days because I apparently have a giant (their words) cyst above my left ovary. Does any one else have this? I am unable to compare to a typical symptoms because of this and am concerned. Oh and I can not breathe at all like 24/7 stuffy nose

by dramaqueen7069

i was told i am 9 weeks 4 days, and this website says im 8 weeks according to my due date.. (confusing!) anyways..i have my first apt Feb 1st, this is our baby,&& my husband and i are very excited! i feel nauseous, but no fatigue, just get slightly tired on and off..i consier myself lucky because i work 6 days a week and i can handle it perfectly =) i have weird pulling feelings by where i assume my ovaries are located, and light cramping but i am okay with that because i know the baby is growing, and that assures me my littleangel is just fine (;

by yadi0614

im 8 weeks and i already feel bloated and m showing a lil this will be out 2nd child and im excited we've waited along time for this. I have been getting light cramps and wonder if thats normal

by kry1048@aol.com

did anyone else get their first u/s at 5 and a half weeks?? What was your babies heartrate?? Mine was 95 bpm. Is that good or should i be worried?

by cheeze502@aol.com

I had my first OB apt. on the 19 and finally I got to see my baby :)

by shortyke6404

I am 8 weeks pregnant and super excited, my family wasn't all that happy but my husband and i are thrilled. I am worried about everything i eat and do i have one ultrasound from when i found out over the weekend and i cant wait to go to my first check-up to make sure everything is ok. I'm freaking but so super happy!!!

by brokenangel10

Yesterday evening I went to the bathroom & noticed a brownish discharge. I wiped and thankfully there wasnt anymore blood. So I reseached why and it said that the womb expels old blood from the uterus because its not needed.

by sbanks2

I'm a little over 8 weeks along with our first child and had my first appointment on Monday and I get my first ultra sound on Friday! I am so ready and excited to be a mom! But first, I am anxious to start showing so more people know we're expecting! :)

by sbhamilton

Im 8 weeks pregnant with our first child together. My breasts are the size of melons, I have acne all over my chest and back. Bloating, gas, and cramps for an entire six weeks now!! I am a nurse and dread every minute of work cause the fatigue is unbearable!! Never thought it would be like this!!!

by Nicpan

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow with our first child. we just moved to hawaii and trying to get the perfect house for us...im a little worried and trying not to stress because it is so early and so much is changing in my life! but i am so excited for this baby congrats everyone

by judydaren

8 weeks today & am very happy! I just can't stand the fatigue!!! I have so much to do with basketball practice & games & all the other normal stuff I have to do with my 13 & 9 year old boys. All I want to do is sleep. But we are very happy with our new bundle of joy coming. Don't know what I was thinking with the starting all over but at least I will have some help! :o)

by mrslcarter

I'm anywhere from 8 to 11 weeks pregnant. I'm going in for an ultrasound tomorrow and i'm excited because the last ultrasound we had was way too early and they weren't able to see anything.

by aldiaz1989

I am 8 weeks now! My husband and I got to see our baby's heartbeat :) It made it all real! We are so excited!

by rmahanjr@gmail.com

I am 8 wks as well. No morning sickness, thought i was going to brushing my teeth this morning lol. Sooo excited! This is our first :)

by jenniej0125

My dr says that unless you are soaking a pad with blood or cramping really bad that any bleeding is ok. I had some brown discharge and a little blood after sex. My dr said that your cervix is really sensitive and sex can cause that. If you are worried about bleeding call your dr. They understand us first time moms and are willing to answer your questions.

by michelleperkins12

2/6/11- This w8d1 for me... im getting really excited

by lvlichelle

I'm about 8 weeks pregnant as well...while I'm scared he seems so confident that eases the pressure. I have my first sonogram on Wednesday and we're super excited!

by belladeni

We are 8 weeks pregnant today!!! Heading to our OBGYN for our first gyno apt and are VERY SCARED AND EXCITED at the same time!! Really hoping we get to hear their heart beat today!!!! WHooohooooo let the fun begin! ;0

by hellokitty379

im 8 weeks today!!! 1st child super happy i to had the same discharge i went to my ob tues. and told her about it and she said it was just old blood and if im not cramping everything will be just fine...

by mrzedwards2b2011

I'm 8 weeks, feeling like total garbage. It feels like I am hungover alll the time. Exhausted, nausias, dizzy. UGH! My appetite is just bizarre...some days I can't stop eating, and other days the thought of food grosses me out. i haven't had any vomitting tho....sometimes I wish I would..maybe that would make the nausia go away :/ Valerieflan! The fact that you're on websites like this is def a good start. I would just tell you to read as much as you can, look into everything you should and should not be putting into your body (caffiene, over the counter meds - even Advil!, etc.), stay fit, and talk about everything your feeling with your partner, parent, best friend...whoever is there for support. It's important, cuz all these conflictin emotions can drive anyone insane!! Best of luck...amd always ask questions! < />

by rmazza213

Im 8 weeks pregnant with our second child. Our first just turned four. I was super sick my first pregnacy vomitting almost every day a couple times a day and even lost 40pds my pregnancy. But theres hope so far so good with this one..only a little nausea no where near what I expericened before. Guess what they say is true every pregnancy is different.

by the3saldivars

I had downright spotting and cramping for almost 2 weeks. I was really worried. But the ultrasound showed that everything is fine. :) My doctor told me that in the first trimester, anything can make you spot-- sneezing, exercising, having sex, etc. It's because of increased blood flow to the cervix. There are actually more blood vessels being created, and they're fragile right now, so spotting is common. Of course, "they" say to talk to your doctor if you have spotting and cramping. But my recommendation would be: Don't panic until there's something to panic about!

A brownish discharge is not really anything to worry about- brown means it is old blood and not a new or current bleed. It can be caused by sex or even an internal exam, a day or two before. I'm in week 9 having my SIXTH baby, so,I've seen my share of that kind of stuff. stay happy ladies!!

by loveschickens

8 weeks pregnant and this lil raspberry of mine is making me vomit at the very sight of food...i love the ginger tea/soup idea..made me feel so much better!! i notice every time i go out or lift up something heavy ,i get the brown discharge too, maybe its a way of my body complaining of the tiredness or something..

by FATEMALI1

Reply to Panezott1154: i have also had brown mucus discharge, my doctor told me that it is normal. i have had it off and on for about 4 days now. just as long as it's not followed with severe cramps and blood. hope this helps!!

by mk2shoney

We are 8 weeks today! And our first doctor's appt is in 2 more day. Other than being tired and soreness in boobs, I'm doing great. I feel like when we see the baby and/or the heartbeat....it will finally be real. We may also find out if we're having twins! Since they run in my family. VERY EXCITING!

by TLCandKWH

I am almost 9 weeks along and am tired non stop...also my morning sickness has chosen to arrive in the evening instead of morning! Not very convienent either way as I work 5 days a week and have a 3.5 year old at home...this 2nd time momma to be is EXHAUSTED! Looking forward to 2nd trimester for some relief

I am 8 weeks and 4 days now, I can't wait!! I heven't really had any symptoms...just nauseus when I'm hungry and the usual sore boobs, but my hubby has been EXHAUSTED!! He's ready to be done :) We can't wait to see our little nugget! Got to hear the heartbeat and see our nugg last friday 8 wks, 1 day...what a peanut!

by rmbl2007

I am almost 9 weeks preggers and am having little to no symptoms. I'm pretty tired, and have bouts of queasiness and heartburn but thats about it. We were able to see the heartbeat at my doctors appt last week, but should I be concerned that I'm fairly symptom free??? Or should I be thankful!? Very nervous first time Mommy :(

by mrsporter3

I am 8wk1d pregnant after a loss in December. Very easy pregnancy so far. No nausea, no soreness. I feel fantastic! Miracle baby and miracle pregnancy (thus far). :) Due in October!

by arose4me7305

Hello everyone! I'm Chasity and I'm close to 8w :) I'm happily married for 6 months and this will be our first child! We have our first OB appt Friday and I'm really nervous. I had a miscarriage at 8w this time last year. I'm just wondering if this fear of miscarrying ever goes away?? I have been having mild cramps for a few weeks, it finally went away today but I feel like I'm worrying double because of what happened before.....any thoughts??

by cr0224042

I will be 8 weeks this Sat. with our second child. I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago. I have been having morning sickness like crazy I never had it with my fist child. I am not liking it at allll.

by colee23

Found out last Thursday, not one, but two! Yep TWINS! To darn tired to do anything but eat and pee. This is my third pregnancy for a total of four children. This is very different. I swear I feel them moving but at the size of an olive or whatever, seriously? None ob my bottoms fit I am ready to pull my hair out. All this at 8 weeks. Hope it gets better soon.

by Mrsgonzo647

I'm 8 weeks preggie and soooo tired. No morning sickness so far, touch wood. I am 39 and never thought I would be a mother to a second child. We have a beautiful 10 year old daughter who is going to be delighted when we tell her the big sister news in a month.

by bellacino

I'm 8 wks prg with my 2nd baby. My first child is a month away from being two. Looking after him makes me too exhausted to be excited, but right under that exhaustion there's excitement waiting for some energy to burst out.

Almost 9 weeks and I've had the most unbearable "morning" sickness. I get it morning, noon and night. I swear, this is our first and most likely our last baby because of it. The sight and smell of most foods is utterly foul, and the sickness comes whenever it wants. I'm totally and utterly miserable. I used to think I wanted multiple kids...now I'm thinking twice about it.

by vgarnant

I am around 8 weeks pregnant. I had cramping and sore breasts at first, those have subsided. Then came the nausea on and off all day and that has lasted about a week or so. Now that is subsiding and I have these CONSTANT flutters in one area of my abdomen. It's more of a spasm than gas, that is for sure. I hope my levels are OK. Does anyone else have these muscle spasms?

by iamronnisa

If anyone has any questions about medications, chemicals, beauty products, etc. and whether or not they're safe during pregnancy, check out CTISPregnancy.org. It's a California non-profit based at UC San Diego. I saw it on the news because it just launched a new feature on it's website where you can chat live with a counselor about your questions. I tried it last week when I wasn't sure if I could take my allergy medication and the woman was super helpful! This is my first pregnancy and I have TONS of questions of what I should and shouldn't take, so I figured you all might too. :-) Hope this helps!

by nf15

Hi all! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and so excited! Although the nausea is about all I can take! Sea Bands have seemed to help me battle the really strong waves of nausea, which means the little ones are manageable. This is our first too and my husband and I are just beside ourselves excited! Congrats to all the mommies! :-)

by LGrubbs1

I am 8 weeks with my first. I work on a rotating scheduale. This week I work seven straight days of 4pm to midnights. Then I will get two days off then I work seven straight days of 8am to 4pms then I get my long weekend which is four days off then I come back and do seven straight midnight to 8ams. Then it starts all over. Im so tierd all the time. UGH.

by ashbeut37

I am 8 weeks pregnant and I am hungry ALL the time! I eat 3 regular meals plus multiple snacks all day. I have not gained any weight though which I guess is good. I am really tired in the afternoons. Getting through an 8 hour work day in the office is no fun. But I have been resting once I get home and then my hubby cooks dinner. Felt really nauseous last week for about 4 days but now I am better. I just have to make sure I eat as soon as I get hungry. Is this normal?! : )

by SDPregs

I am 8 weeks pregnant today This will be my husband and I first baby, we are so excited but its just so hard to think there is really something in there! I am super tired all the time, its so hard to get things done around the house! I was nauseous last week and the week before if i let myself get hungry, that has subsided some now, my breast have been sore and are huge, and heavy! I had one appt at 5 weeks but i will have my first ultra sound in 2 weeks, I can't wait to make sure everything is ok! Maybe then it will actually feel real. It just doesn't feel real yet!

by lerumn00

by swatkins1983

I'm 8 weeks now and we're super excited to have our second child! The fatique is killing me though. I work fulltime. After my busy day I pick up our 19 month old and go home to start cooking and cleaning. It's been very difficult with chasing her around, and fighting the nausea while cooking. But when I feel overwhelmed I just look at our ultrasound pic and remember what a blessing we have inside me! Our family is super excited about the new baby!

by DeShanaeK16

I am SUPER fatigued! I have just been working part time while I finish my last few months of classes I am taking, and I am just exhausted by the end of the day! Daily naps have been a norm, not only to ward of fatigue, but to keep my mind off feeling so sick as well! Hope the next few weeks of this fly by!

by gritcherd85

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and with twins! Thanks to IVF..... Saw and heard the heartbeat today. So tired and excited at the same time. It's been a long process. Best of luck to everyone else!!!!

by gina5360

RayJayBaby, the same thing has JUST started happening to me! I'm just at 8 weeks with my first little bambino, and I feel basically like puking all day until around 10 PM when I suddenly feel GREAT! I'm almost afraid to sleep because I know in the morning I'll just feel queasy all over again! I think it's just extra great feeling because we've been feeling like crap for the past 4 weeks and our bodies are glad not to feel like puking for once. I too have the brown discharge after sex, but I'm glad to know it's normal, and I'm glad to know what to watch out for that wouldn't be normal. Thanks all, and Congrats!!! So exciting!!

by neumishark

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first! My husband and I just moved into our new house last week! Everything is so exciting! That is, except for the constant nausea, headaches, and ZERO energy... Praying that the next few weeks bring a much better feeling to me!

by ctbunch

Today was so exciting! My husband, mom & mother in-law all came to the first doc visit-little raspberry is 8 weeks and 3 days old!! Looked just like a Teddy Graham on the ultra-sound! :)

by amandadcannon09

I'm about 8 weeks pregnant. When I was 6 weeks pregnant they told me I had a empty sack. They told me I needed a scrapping and the day of the scrapping I just felt like I couldn't go through with it. Like I needed my body to clean itself. Thank God I waited. I went to the ER due to pains and guess what!!! I do have a baby growing in there :) I just want all the info in the world to make this pregnancy to be awesome and super healthy. Any tips works. Thanks in advance. :)

by Cepeterson13

8 weeks today! Other than occasionally feeling nauseous and getting tired really early in the evening, I feel great. I've been going to the gym, eating pretty much regularly, and not gaining weight yet. However, I am MOODY!! I have cried more in the past two weeks than I normally do in a year. I feel bad for my poor husband :)

by snowgirl0429

I am 8 weeks today. Monday I was too sick to go to work but fine the rest of the week. I'm a so exhausted and moody however! I've gained a little weight (I couldn't button the black skinny pants I JUST bought :-/) but I can't wait unitl I have an offical baby bump!

by bpowell06

I am 8 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and so bloated I look twice as pregnant. Anyone else look like they are already showing/bigger around the waist with bloat? thanks

by Rzanatta

I am 8 weeks today. No sickness, just queasy. Though when I was eating some oatmeal from Tim Horton's I started gagging. Granted, it wasn't an oatmeal texture that I'm used to anyway. I usually eat Quaker instant which is a little on the drier side. The Tim Horton's stuff was on the gooey side. Anyway, outside of that I'm feeling fine. Oddly though, my boobs don't hurt too bad. I had expected excruciating pain. I have my 1st drs appointment on Wednesday. I'm excited, but nervous too. I don't know what's gonna happen.

by irishmommy82

I'm 8 weeks pregnant today with our first child it's exciting and very scary. Reality kicks in when I think how am I going to take care of this little baby I have no clue what to do. My only problem is I can't wait to move on from this constant hangover feeling. My stomach is upset all of the time.

by kirk1d

I'm 8 weeks pregnant today with our first! I'm so very excited, but I'm just not sure how I'm supposed to work! When I'm not feeling like I've been hit by a mack truck and trying not to throw up at the sight of everything while trying to concentrate at work, I'm ecstatic and just want to think about baby things! Oh well, the joys of being pregnant and growing a little life inside you right! :) Congrats mommies!

by Sniders08

I'm 8 weeks pregant. Two weeks into complete nausea and absolute laziness. It's been a hectic week. We are getting married in 6 weeks! Still so many details to go over and I just don't have the energy.

by jiternbug

Ginger beer has more ginger in it and tastes better than ginger ale--no worries, it is non-alcoholic, like root beer.

by smithho

I am about 8 weeks according to my Doctor. I haven't really had "cravings" yet, but when something sounds good, I want it NOW! Sometimes that feeling subsides after awhile. I've been thinking all morning how good Mashed Potatoes & Gravy with Chicken Nuggets (?) with Honey Mustard is going to be for Supper! I didn't think this happened until later on in Pregnancy. Not sure why I want it so bad, Baby always ends up sending it back! Such a Picky Eater!! :)

by sha29

8 weeks along and sick as a dog. It is awful. I hate being pregnant right now, it is so bad. Nausea, sleepyness and lack of energy is making me awful. No monring sickness...all day sickness!

by atomicbaby

We are expecting our first on November 24th!!!! I am in my 8th week and SO tired! We went to the Dr this week and had our first ultra sound. We got to see the heart beat!!!! Talk about making it real!!!! Anyone else due on the 24th?

by liznkris

I hit 8 weeks yesterday! So excited! We're going for our next U/S next Friday at wk 9! I've had the brown spotting 3 times since week 5. The Dr. said it was normal. I have noticed it comes after sex or if I've been on my feet for a long time cleaning house and cooking. I started experiencing occasional sharp pains above the pelvic bone. I just lay on my side and wait it out. I haven't had full on m/s, but have had mild nausea which became stronger when I hit wk 8. My face is looking green lately. I'm considering getting SeaBands. Anyone here successful with them?

by mmoon127

8 weeks along with our first and having the same feelings as everybody else - happiness, joy...and nausea. Had my first ultrasound this past week to hear the heart beat and make sure baby is the right position. All is going well so far!

by mrsmalcolm

I am 8 weeks pregnant with my first. I too was sick of Ginger ale to ease morning sickness. Mine had mostly been a continual nausea almost like car sickness or sea sickness. A little tip I have found is instead of Ginger ale try switching to sparkling water like San Pellegrino or La Croix. I found that the ginger didn't help my sickness as much as the carbonation did. Plus you can get different flavors like raspberry or lime and they don't have any sugar or artificial sweeteners.

by beebeeanne

Morning sickness is much worse with this child than it was with our first. Today I finally tried wearing motion sickness bracelets. They are amazing! They help greatly with the nausea without any kind of chemicals or drugs. Love them!!!

by skaulitz

I am 8 weeks Sunday and my morning sickness started right at 5 weeks! I threw up every singe morning for a week and a half until my friend (whos an OB nurse) gave me Zofran. Feel so much better, have not thrown up once and have so much more energy now that my all day nausea is gone! Absolutely get an rx so you dont have to suffer everyday!

by reneep5

We are also having our first. My husband is graduating from college in two weeks, putting our house on the market soon, and moving at the end of the summer. Talk about packing it all in at the same time!

by ekunkel

Im week 8, have had a few days of queasiness, but whats worse is this pain in my back. Im used to getting extream back pain a couple times a year, but ever since finding out we are pregnant I have had spazims on the left side of my back. Is this normal??

by wergettingmarried

I am 8 weeks pregnant today! I am having my first child, so I thought. After my first ultrasound I found out it's my first children! I'm having TWINS!!!!!!!!

by jaclyn.capalbo

I'm 8 weeks now and I'm excited!! This is me and my husband's first child as well, due around our 2 year anniversary which is funny but such a blessing at the same time....no morning sickness for me praise God! Just some nausea and my allergies are kicking my butt and messing up my sleep but I'm enjoying it for the most part!!

by MrsJMWatkins

I am also approx 8 weeks pregnant with my first. I am getting married next month (which has been in the works for a year) We are super nervous, scared and excited, all of the above. My first doctors appointment is this Wednesday. I've been lucky with sickness. Just a little queazy myself. Life is real busy right now with the wedding and trying to find a place to live after the wedding.

by kristakiehl

i am 8 weeks and 2 days and all i want to do is be in bed because i have ain i am noshises 24/7 ugh

by eliizabeth120611

I have all the above, the discharge is normal, I have called and been seen by my OB since it started. It only happens once a day... This is #2 for us, I had a c section last time, so that combined with the normal stretching of the uterus etc, causing the light spotting/discharge... Since it takes so long for the body to pass that's why it's brown, if it's red it's worth calling you OB or serious cramps call - that's what they told me and to call if I am worried at all - that's why they are there... :D I am also starting to puff out a little, I got back down to pre-pregnancy weight from the last but now I look super preggers at 8 weeks... Ha- oh well... I will eat, sleep and sleep some more... Praying my nausea stays away, up until two days ago it was everyday... Good luck to all that read this and congrats!!!

by happyshawna

Ps cheeze502@aol.com @ 6 weeks we were at 127 BPM... If you needed to worried the DR would have told you that, no worries... It gets faster each day... :D

by happyshawna

i just went today and found out i'm 8weeks and one day...so exciting...got to see the little blob and everything:)

by elizabethadas8

Many people have episodes of brown discharge or even pink to reddish spotting. I am 8 weeks and last week I experienced a couple days with brown discharge. Not a lot but enough to always make you wonder. It stopped after a couple days and haven't had any problems. Hope this helps. Nausea is also a super problem off and on, it comes in waves and I at times have to force myself to eat. Good luck to all.

by RhoadesHouse

8 weeks pregnant with my second child. I don't remember being this tired with my son! I suppose they say it's because you have more to do and less time to take those little naps you were able to take before you had any children. We are also about to buy our first house, just went under contract this week and we had planned on getting married this fall, however we will either do it sooner or after the baby is born. Nausea is awful in the morning and through the afternoon and goes away by early evening and crazy tired all day...every day! Good luck to everyone out there! Oh, and I had the brown discharge as well around 5-6 weeks. Totally gone now, and doc said not to worry unless you have heavy, bright red bleeding and bad cramps. I don't have a history of any m/c's though....

by LANAMCNEILL

I'm 8 weeks prego and its not my first but it is his. I m just teaching my husband about all the changes my body is making..... He doesn't understand the tiredness and all daysickness right now... so I jsut have 2 b patient and work with him

by MsSheena2U

8 weeks today! But my first ultrasound isn't until the 9th of may. is that weird?

by jmconry

Hey ladies! This is baby #2 for us! Whoo! TTC for 3 years and finally here! 8 weeks along today! Had our first sono last week. Saw the heartbeat, yolk sac, and visible baby! Ladies, all of you are saying how nervous you are- relax. Stress-free is best for you and baby. Relax :) I saw a post down there from 2010... Am I responding to old threads???? its 5/2/11 ???

by ashlee122783

I am 8 weeks and a few days pregnant and started morning/all day sickness last week. I know when you are nauseated it is difficult to imagine eating anything! But I have learned that an empty stomach actually makes it a lot worse. Once I ate something like oatmeal, toast or crackers with gingerale or water or something plain like that, I felt way better.

by bebes girl

I'm 8 weeks and tend to feel sick in the late afternoon early evening and even when I'm sleeping (weird)..if I don't snack all the time I feel worse. Not to mention my skin is not what it use to be with pimples forming regularly. I'm pretty calm about everything despise the list of increasing issues (lol) but I'm hoping it will all get a little better soon! ;)

by Nicole920

I am 7 weeks pregnant with multiples, twins for sure. The sono showed a third sac but no fetal pole. I'm guessing the third one may not survive according to my OB. I also have a toddler who will be 2 in August. Fun times! I don't know how I'm going to finish my masters, work full-time, and take care of all my babies:/

by camachogossage1

8 weeks today with baby #1. I love this site for an idea of the baby's size. Comparing the baby to fruit is the most adorable thing. I also love the illustration of what it actually looks like so you get a really good idea of what is happening inside you.

by vgarciay85

I have a major feeling that I am pregnant..I believe around 8 weeks. I missed my period last month and doubt i'll be getting it this month. I took 3 home tests and they all came out postive but won't be going to get a confirmation by the doctor until tuesday ( 3 days from now). My husband doesn't believe I am pregnant because he says I don't have enough symptoms. I think i'm one of the lucky 20% of women who don't get morning sickness but i threw up for no reason for the first time today at work. My Q is that will my baby be okay even though i haven't taken any prenatal vitamins yet?

by rhea2rod

I have to say that I have been extremely excited about being pregnant. My husband and I are counting down the days till my all day morning sickness goes away!!! I have been crazy sick since about week 6. I have lost about 18 lbs. in about 10 days, and my doctor is really worried about my weightloss. She has me on anti-neasea meds, which have helped, but they have had to double them since she gave them to me...I try not to complain because I never thought I was able to have children, but I have to say that I cant wait for this stage to be over!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by cLJ101382

I am 8 weeks 5 days today and boy oh boy....this morning sickness is no joke. This is my 4th child with my newly husband who does not have any kids of his own so I am very greatful to give him such a wonderful gift BUT I can honestly say that I am in for a long ride with this one. From everything leaving a bad aftertaste, to pimples everywhere, headaches, nausea, feeling cold, tired, sleepy, low energy...this will definlity be my last.lol..

by cmcmother

I'm 8wks 5days with twins, these are our first children. We're both super excited but freaking out at the same time because this was not planned at all. So far I've been tired and nauseous 24/7, I work two jobs and don't know how I'm gonna make it through the next 7 months! But, on the bright side I had my 2nd OB apt today and got to hear the heart beats and see them again =)

by 000krissy

I am pregnant for the first time after adopting! So..I too am running around and chasing a 3 year old whilst I feel sick and literally...tired. I just had gastric bypass and havent yet reached my goal weight...which the doctor said is fine....Just wondering if there are any women out there going through the same thing and how they are holding up?

by SNAPDRAGONFLY

Had another ultrasound today & baby's heartbeat is PERFECT!! and is measuring right on point! :) Yay my new 2011 baby!!

by jenniey86

Do not worry mommas' I am 8 weeks pg with my first kiddo and this morning I suddenly had that brown discharge. Of course, you could imagine I freaked out; I had recently started getting cramps so I thought the worst. My Doc was so awesome she said told me to stop by right away (my appointment was scheduled for next week). She did an ultrasound and an exam due to the symptoms I was having and everything was fine! Its basically old blood that was left in the cervix and when your uterus and other parts are growing to accomidate baby that old blood finds a way out. She told me as long as clots are not present and the blood stays a brown color (Not Bright Red) its perfectly normal. Some women spot brown blood; its nothing to get concerned about. Doc said to take it easy in the first trimester and the spotting may just clear up on its own. Now is not the time to worry yourself sick because stress will not help the baby, so if you need a doctor to tell you everything is fine then call your doc's office and let them know whats going on. Making sure you and your baby are okay, will not hurt any.

by kmlira

I've had a had a brown mucus/light pink discharge (going for a week or so at a time) on several occasions during the last 8 weeks and my doc said it is completely normal but I am all about peace of mind so just give your doctor a call. :)

by kchapman5

I'm 8 weeks today and have been feeling awful the past 4 weeks really, I cannot wait till 2nd Tri - it just seems so far away. I was so excited when I first found out we were pregnant - I have feeling so sick lately - I have lost all my excitment. I feel like a bad mom already...

by breezerjoy

I am 8 wks today may 12, 2011 w/our 3rd child. We have two boys& would like a little girl, but we'll take whatever the good Lord gives us, just as long as he/she is healthy. I have been so tired at work that I sleep during my breaks and lunch & my face is breaking out & sumtimes have low back pain. Haven't thrown up but sumtimes get nauseous & get heartburn after I eat. 8go to the dr for my 1st U/S on may 20th, super excited, we have an angel baby from aug 2010 so this is truly a blessing, congrats and good luck to all the mommies out there:)

by jenford2669

I'm twenty four years old and eight weeks pregnant with twins! My husband and I are excited and shocked! This is my first pregnancy, and I already don't fit into my clothes. I've actually been wearing maternity jeans for about three weeks now. I've been pretty queasy and fatigued but so far, so good :]

by ohsweetcalamity@aol.com

wow this is off by at least a week... my december due date is a first time thing, i had several the first time around...

by blakcat momma

I'm 8 weeks, 5 days (first pregnancy) and just had my first ultrasound. So excited to see the baby turn and sprawl out so we could get a good picture, and funny how it looks like a bitty miniature baby already and not just a blob :) No morning sickness; actually I'm hungry beyond belief most of the time...a bit afraid I'm going to gain beyond the recommended weight by third trimester with all my food cravings! I read that most women don't gain at all or actually lose weight during first trimester, but I'm doing the opposite! Does this happen to anyone else?

by naswegan

I'm 8 week 0 day when I had my first ultrasound. I heard baby's heartbeat, it was fast and loud, so amazing! Baby looked like a gummy bear and Doctor called him/her "Little Peanut" :) My fatigue is getting worse this week, it started at week 6 but stepping into week 8 I feel like I have zero energy most of the day and very very sleepy! *yawn* No morning sickness, no headache, and have gained 5 lbs since...

by hellogolfy

I had brown discharge all week. The doctor said it was fine, just some old blood. Then on Saturday I had bright red blood (a lot) with clots, we went to the emergency room in a panic. Everything was fine. The doctor there said that sometimes you rupture a capillary. What I learned was don't worry about blood unless you are soaking through more than one pad an hour,

by iris yanira

Congratulations to all the ladies that posted, I still think its amazing how fast the baby grows. I'm about 8 weeks and the fatigue is hitting hard, anyone have any suggestions about how to energize through the day (especially at work)?

by 1sexychef

Does anyone know when its safe to travel?

by sarahfullen711

I am SO thankful to hear about about abdominal pain, I was getting worried! I heard a heart beat last week & have had minimal m/s! Today is 8wks1day :) CONGRATS TO ALL THE NEW MOMMYS! :) & GOOD LUCK!

by CheetoLady161

i am 8 weeks on our first baby getting my first ultrasound next week and can't wait! But gee lord im sick of being sick. I also am sick all day until 8pm and i hate ginger. The only thing that seems to work well is a cold coca cola. But i try not to drink one too often since their isn't much nutrition in it. I really hate my prenatal vitamins, i'm really thinking of going to buy gummy vitamins. And yes im always sleeping!

by rocco288

I was in the ER with a gush of bright red blood at 6 weeks, but was told I have a large sub chorionic hemmorhage. I had another ultrasound at 7 weeks and the baby had grown right on target and had a strong heartbeat. It freaked me out to have bleeding, but its decreased to the "brown" stage and appears to be stopping for now. Apparently its very common to have - and most likely everything will turn out just fine. If anyone else has had this experience and had healthy babies - that is always comforting to hear. I am now 8 weeks and have another ultrasound in 4 days.

by kroberts18

I Found out on mothers day that i was pregnant. I went to the ER because I was getting extreamly sick for about 2 weeks. Nurse came back and told me i was pregnant! I had my first appointment last Thursday and found out i was at the time 7 weeks. Now Im 8 weeks and I'm extreamly happy!!

by ChristiNatal

We went for our eight week appt last Friday and our OB wouldn't even try to get the heartbeat - we were super disappointed. I made them give me (another #4) pregnancy test because it's so hard to know that you're pregnant if your symptoms aren't too serious and you can't see or hear any proof. We have to wait until 12 weeks, which feels like it will be forever. I think maybe my fatigue is ramping up this week and my boobs still (since BFP) uber-sore. Congrats all!

by melonhead

well today i just turned 8 weeks. according to my last period i should have been around 10 weeks today but when i had my ultrasound done last week they moved me back two weeks.

by Vivian010312

I am 8 weeks along with our first child...so excited! And the best part is morning sickness seems to be behind me! I had a really rough weeks 6 and 7, but I haven't gotten sick in days :) On the other hand, I have had some really sharp pains on the left side of my pelvis, where I've always had pain due to cysts. It seems to come if I stretch those muscles. No blood, but definitely something to ask the doctor next week. Anyone know if cysts can still act up when your pregnant?

by megevers

by tonjaneka85

we are pregnant with our 3rd child... i am convinced my m/s has gotten worse each time. im not sure if it is because i now have 2 kids to care for while working 3 jobs, but the exhaustion is killing me. i feel worthless when i get home because i am so darn tired? how is everyone balancing this. i am having major mom guilt because i cant do as much as i want with our precious kids. ..

8 weeks and 1 day. I also started school (esthetics) about a week before I knew I was pregnant. I am exhausted! I had no idea how tired I would be and this fast track school program is kickin my butt! very little nausea but my boobs are so ridiculously sore! ultrasound in 10 days!

by flavine

my doctor said (when I told him i thought I was preggo) "why do you think that?" (they were doing the test right then...) when I told him about my sore breasts, he said that was a pretty good indication. Very few things other than pregnancy cause both breasts to be so sore... Interesting.

my wife and I are just now 8 weeks in this miricle. With endometrosis, and only 1 ovary at 31 years old we are so freaked out and have been on the phone with her ob's office daily with every single question from constipation, intense morning sickness, and cramping. So far so good butt she is on bed rest and I am doing everything possible to make her comfortable. My respect and full admiration goes out to all of you beautiful women working so hard on creating life. congrats and good luck!!

by jarredandkatrina

I am a little over 8 weeks and have my first doc appt this week. I am very nervous cause I have had little to no morning sickness (a little nausea here and there, but nothing significant) and not a whole lot of other symptoms either except fatigue and tender breasts which has decreased significantly since last week. My mom had a miscarriage when I was little that wasn't discovered until her doctor's appt. No tissue or anything was passed so she was under the assumption everything was great until the ultrasound was done. Her pregnancy symptoms went away completely but that was it. This makes me extremely nervous and I am hoping I don't discover the same thing at my appt on Thursday. Any comforting advice/suggestions so I don't make myself crazy over the next couple of days?

by kaygray

I'm 8 weeks with my 2nd and nothing sounds good to eat ever. I did not get sick with my first so this feeling sick everyday is new. I'm still nursing my 1st a little, hes 16mo and wondering if that has anything to do with it.

by rhidot

I'm 8 weeks and 5 days with my first. we are super excited, yet really scared. i had a miscarriage a few months ago, and i was relieved to hear the heart beat a few days ago. i was so excited. i started crying and hugged the nurse.

I'm about 8 weeks with my third child. I remember all the irrational fear being pregnant the first time. After being a mom you realize there is nothing to worry about until there is something to worry about. I know it's hard not to worry, but try to enjoy this without worrying. Nine months does go by quickly.

by yankeefan78

I hit 8 weeks yesterday. This is our first child and we found out we are having twins! I am so scared but super excited. I have not had any morning sickness or to much nausea (knock on wood) just a little tired and some great new boobies :) Good luck and congrats to everyone!

by lauriewilson

This is my first pregnancy & I have extereme morning sickness. I'm 8 weeks on Monday. Ice helps me a lot. The smell of ginger makes me sick. Are there any other remedies that have helped other women??

by love707

I'm currently 8 weeks & 4 days pregnant. This is my first pregnancy & I'm excited/scared at the same time. This is my first child, & My first doctors apt was today;; went better then I thought. Just exhausted with all this morning sickness.

by Caseylee12

Im about 8 weeks preg and very tired! I have a 5 yr old who is very active and so when I get home I hardly have time for a nap. I try to get them in when my husband gets home. We are very excited though and know it's all worth it.

I am 8 weeks pregnant today. I have been having good days and bad days. The bad days is from the fatigue. I would rather have nausea because the nausea is mild. I can barely function with how tire I get and I work a full time job. I sleep and drink water whenever I can. I had the brown mucus discharge, too. I think it was from sex or a really stressful day- went to a funeral. After reading the submissions on here, I think it was from sex. I am eating fine, but suspect the nausea will get worse. I am really excited about the baby, but I don't see my doctor for another week. I am just hoping to hear a heart beat. We are first time parents and look forward to chance of having a baby.

by nataliet1531

just figured out that i am 8 weeks pregnant instead of 6 weeks like i had previously thought, now i am even more anxious for my first OB appt (: hopefully i can hear the heart beat

by AshleyJHarris

I am 8 weeks as of yesterday. This is our first pregnancy and we are newly weds! We are both so excited and feel very blessed because we were unsure if I could even get pregnant due to a very large fibroid tumor I had removed last year. Everything seems to be going fine so far. I was wondering, does anyone know when you are supposed to start showing? This can't all be fat! My pants don't fit already and I can't suck in my tummy at all, even just to make my pants fit. I was told I wouldn't start showing until the second tirmester. I go for the first ultra sound June 21st. So excited!!!

by JulieJon0311

UGH! All day sickness is getting the best of me! I have been sick as a dog for the last week and a half. It also doesn't help that we've been having very hot weather.

by AlisonN85

I'm be8 weeks pregnant and I have been super nervous about the first trimester! I'm so ready to finally get into the second trimester so that some of my worries of miscarrying can subside. I am super excited about this pregnancy!!!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant but it seems like it has been forever since we found out (3weeks). I finally get to see the doctor on Monday which is so exciting! Can't wait until the 22nd to see the ultrasound. :)

by vldstrachh

I am 8 weeks - fortunately i have not had terrible morningsickness but am irritable. i have been suffering from headaches though - it makes want to cry. the fact that i cant take strong tablets doesnt help either....we are so excited - hope it's a girl!

by Nokuzola

I am 8wks and 2days with number 2. My son will be almost 4 when this one is born. He is super excited just like we are. Due on Jan 20th but it will probably be a CS again so maybe a little earlier than that. I have seen my little bean twice now. Amazing how different the US are. I had an US at 4wks and 6days because I was in a car wreck and all you can see is a little black dot. Went back at 7wks 3days and there was my little bean. So amazing!!!

by sonajasin

Seeing baby's heart beat this afternoon! So excited! Lots of love & prayers to our new Baby D! Good luck to all new mommies seeing their little one on the "big screen"!

by JD4002

I am almost 8 weeks pregnant. My first appointment is Monday 6/20. This is my first child and me and my husband are so excited! I have tender breasts and I am tired all the time. Sometimes I feel a little bloated but other than that I feel great:)

by Amandap11

I'm 8 weeks myself and we just closed on our first house in april. It is such a big year !!

by shannaandbun

I'm 8 weeks and 3 dayswith our first child and just had our first doctor's appointment and ultrasound today. We were so excited to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. I'm dying with fatigue but oh so thankful after reading the other posts to not have one bit of morning sickness at all. Hopefully I can make it 4 more weeks with the same feelings of only joy and not sickness!

by Meganmacdonald8

I am 8 weeks today and feel nauseous all the time. I haven't thrown up but it feel horrible all day. I am super excited this is my first pregnancy! I am going to try some ginger ale. I have tried everything and nothing works so far!! Congrats to all of you!! I am a Mary kay Sales director so i work from home and set my own hours. I don't know how it would be if i had to go to work everyday feeling like this. If you do then you are a strong amazing person!!! stay strong and I hope we can all feel better!!

by julie0117

I am so excited! After having a miscarriage at 8 weeks last year in August, I am now 8 weeks pregnant again. We went to our ultrasound today and saw the little tiny heartbeat! It brought tears (well more than just tears). I am excited for everyone that is where I am right now!

by JGarber1

@tashamama that is too funny I am 8 weeks and we are also closing on our first house at the end of july!

I am 8 weeks pregnant and I am very excited for this will my first bundle of joy. Although I am super excited and nervous, I have to admit that hearing our baby's fluttering heart beat was amazing and it just made it so real for us. I have constant nausea from this great morning sickness but I am so lucky I have a supportive and darling boyfriend who is always at my side offering all he can.

by lilblessing23

I'm also 8 weeks pregnant with my first child.... a pleasant suprise for my husband and me! I am very fortunate to be on summer vacation from my teaching job, as I have been experiencing extreme fatigue, fainting spells, and weakness. There have been several days during the past two weeks where I have literally not had the strength to get out of bed, not to mention I look like death itself. I am normally an extremely active and inshape person. I realized that I was basically getting no iron in my diet or via my vitamin. I changed my vitamin and started eating cereal out the wazu! I still take a little nap in the afternoon, but I have been feeling SO much better. You might want to check your intake of iron if you experience extreme tiredness, fainting spells, paleness, weakness, etc. I have all-day nausea, but I have the stregth to get up and eat now. Jolly Ranchers do wonders!

by kmreed85

I am 8 weeks pregnant with our first children. IDENTICAL TWINS! We are so nervous and excited. We did have a third angel but it went on to heaven. So far I haven't had too much nausea. I only get that way when I'm hungry which is all the time. The exhaustion is crazy. I can't wait for the next U/S and to hear their heartbeats again.

by ChristyB39

I'm 8 wks pregnant with our first child. Next month is our first wedding anniversary so I'm excited about everything but also scared at the same time. My nausea comes and goes when it pleases lol.

by linz0330

8 weeks and wishing it was 38... My daughter is 4 and with work, and her and morning(all day) sickness, this is no fun. But I will say, if you are suffering morning sickness, go and get Sea Bands, they're the bracelets for motion sickness, but they really help! :)

by Stacylh1

This is my second pregnancy and I am only 21! I am nervous for how my 17 month old will be with a baby brother or sister! But i do remember from my first pregnancy a brown mucassy discharge, and it is totally normal, mine was constant i even had to wear a panty liner so the discharge didn't ruin my underwear. So no worries, just protect the panties lol

by akdean

I'm 8 weeks 2 days. Yesterday, I had an ultrasound and was so happy/relieved to see the little heart flickering. The heartrate was 136...seems a little low, but the doctor said it was fine. Tip for your first ultrasound: Don't pee before. Turns out, the bladder pushes your uterus up so it's easier to see.

by CHDefillo

8 weeks 3 days with our first baby.....my little babe's heartbeat is going strong at 180 bpm. Heard it for the first time Wednesday and it was amazing! Have nausea, food aversions, and fatigue, but thankfully no vomiting. Tried Sea Bands for nausea and feel like they work.

by tayjackson

I am 8 weeks pregnant (sooo excited...lol) Sorry I still get tickled saying that. Anywho, going to Disney World on Monday. Any advice on how to make the best of it....not sure what all I can ride. I was told to stay away from the jerky rough rides. Any suggestions?!?!?! Thanks moms!

by BabyMaddrey

I'm 8 weeks but I had a vaginal sonogram at 6 weeks. I noticed that the embryo is curved away from the uteran wall instead of curved toward it like in the picture above. This is my first pregnancy so I don't know how it should look. Should that be a concern?

by AutumnKing82

I'm 8wks 1day today. Two months already gone! We have only told my brother, as I know he won't say anything. I'm waiting until after my first OB appointment, which is in two weeks to let everyone know. I'm excited and scared at the same time!

by prlyshells

Damn it.... it ate my post.... I've been SUPER PISSY lately.... anyone know when this will end so my husband can stop walking on eggshells?

by BunnyJenny

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my first as well and have the same symptoms... nausea fatigue so stinkin annoying! i'm a little scared/nervous because i still dont have an obgyn dr directly -- they've only sent me to see the nurse proctitioner? my next appt is when i'm 10 weeks and from my observation i still wont see a dr... is that normal?!?!

by ABrittin423

Panezott1154 dont worry it might just be spotting and that is normal .. but if you have cramps or lower abdominal pain you should go see a doctor as soon as you can

by karlaS16

Hello fellow moms(for those who are already) and moms-to-be! This journey is super exciting. I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first baby, after trying for over 2 years. God has truly answered our prayers! I haven't vomited once and i'm glad. I do however feel like I've been run over by a MAC truck and left on the side of the road to expire...that's how tired I am. I'm a hint jealous of the moms who get to stay at home; I'm a nurse so I'm in hospital all day (and sometimes other shifts) with interesting sights and smells. I'd love to stay at home. Enjoy this time everyone...each journey is different. Is anyone showing yet? I have a bump already, but the scrubs hide it at work.

Hello Everyone I just wanted to say Congratulations to all of us having babies!!! Today marks my 8 weeks and 1 day! I am thrilled, excited, scared, nervous but feeling beyond happy!!! This will be our first baby! =) Once again, Congratulations and best wishes to you all!!!

by kenyambercruz

Aww we found out we were pregnant the Day before fathers day, a month after closing on our house! apparently all we needed in the year of trying, was to buy our first house hahaha! My first Dr. Appt is on 7/18 (8 more days!). I'm probably about 8 weeks now. I'm hoping they will do the ultrasound then or probably schedule another appt for that... Not wanting to wait! My husband wants to see the little monster too! I get 24/7 sickness as well. no vomiting though, but i've been close many times. I'm amazed I can get myself to eat. I eat as soon as I wake up and I think that sets the motions for the day.. and I snack/eat every 2 hours to keep from being sick (and just to feed lol) I always feel more sick right before bed even if I just ate.

by elleanderson

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first as well! We are so excited and we get to hear the heartbeat for the first time on the 20th!

On the brown mucus topic. I had it too and freaked out but i read up on it and whattoexpect.com said it was probably a sign that the fertilized egg has settled itself nicely in your uterus. It only lasted about a day or two for me.

by Fran_Ortego

I am 8 weeks and holy cow...sick! This is our second child and I do not remember being this sick with our first. I know it won't last too long, I hope! But man this is not fun!!!

I am 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I am sooo soo excited. I have my first "real" appoinment today. I am excited to see that everything is going ok, but I am not looking forward to the pap or the blood test. Im not a big fan of doctor's offices or needles but I guess I'll get over that quick. Anything for baby :). I have been feeling exhausted and have had some cramping and an upset stomach but fortunately no real morning sickness yet.

by bpetersen

I can't sleep, think I'm excited. I'm 8 weeks with our first child and I've been nauseated the entire time. I feel better at night so I kind of pick on honey nut cheerios all day at work. It is a chore just to be at work by 8am everyday! Lord help me! I have to tell I'm so glad I got on here because I thought I was the only one who felt the way you all do. I have laughed hysterically after reading RayJayBaby's comment on 24/7 sickness and how you feel better by 10pm and stay up until 1am to take it in. It's not funny but for some reason I laughed hysterically because if sounded as though I was reading something I wrote myself. I really needed this because I'm so sick of coworkers telling me to eat crackers. If I see a soda cracker or Ginger Ale, I may go postal! Nice to meet all of you!

by TriciaBuchanan

Is anyone else insanely thirsty all the time? I have to have a water bottle by my side 24/7.

by kelsey1212

I also had a discharge, I went to the hospital and the doctor told me it was dried up old blood being pushed out. he said its okay for some women to continue to bleed.

by kaylaM2

Ha Ha Ha! We are 8 wks too. So excited!!! Closing on our 1st house at the end of this month and getting married in August...looks like full plates for alot of us. Good luck and dont get too stressed. Its all about the big picture. ;}

by ajdecker

Panezott1154, I've been told not to worry about discharge unless it's bright red and accompanied by severe cramps. Brown mucus discharge could just be leftover from implantation.

by annaschwietz

I am 8 wks and had brown mucous, too (daily from week 6 until two days ago). My doc said that it was probably old implantation bleeding (that took its time to make its way out the cervix).

by egillem

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and one day. This is our first pregnancy, and it's all very scary and exciting at the same time. Is there anyone out there who is struggling with diabetes and their blood sugar control ?? I am currently having a lot of stress from this, as I figured with insulin they would have better control. However, now that my all day sickness has subsided, I can't keep them in control. Any and all help is appreciated. Supposed to go to the diabetic clinic tomorrow, where hopefully they will assist me.

by janet1988

8 weeks pregnant today...and since 2 days ago I began the single life :( Just hoping the depression goes away I know its not healthy for my baby, but what else are can you do?

by Minierbaby2012

I am 8 weeks pregnant. I don't know about other moms to be here, but I feel like I'm getting tugged back in forth between anxious and worrying to being estatic and excited. I have no idea what to expect so I keep googleing symptoms to make sure I'm normal. Anyway - my first OB appointment is this Monday, I'll be close to 9 weeks. Wish me luck! :)

by BethanyReneeSnyder

all of my symptoms have changed and i am worried i will have another misscarrage. this is my second pregnancy and i am praying this one ends good. should i be worried if my symtoms have changed or i no longer have them?

by sarahdodd1

im 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant and this is my second baby I AM SOOOO SICK this time its a little ridiculous lol I cant even drink water!

by BeeBeeMomma

sarahdodd1 - I wouldn't be too worried about your symptoms changing. I had really bad morning sickness and other symptoms for the first two weeks... then one morning I woke up and felt a lot better. It only lasted for a couple days and before I knew the the nausea came back with full force. I asked my doctor about it, she says it's very normal for symptoms to go up and down because your hormones are changing everyday. Today I saw the heartbeat of my little baby and everything is just fine! Good luck to you, and don't be stressed - it's not good for the baby or for you!

by BethanyReneeSnyder

Third baby at 42. I willl be 43 when this little blessing is born. I have had to take prometrium to assist with my progesterone levels and so far so good. My hcg levels have not increased at a normal rate, but the fact that it is increasing is good. My big scare was no baby showed up on my first ultrasound at 7 weeks 2 days, so I have another one on Monday, 8/1. This is my husband's first baby and I need everyone to keep us in their prayers that this pregnancy remains viable and I can deliver a healthy, normal baby! Congrats to all of the moms to be. How fortunate are we!!!!

Higly recommend taking your prenatal vitamins at night. It helps me A LOT w/my nausea. Went for my 8 wk check up today. Dicharge, completely normal.

by erikatower

Tashamama, that is too funny. I too am 8 weeks pregnant (with twins!) and we also just closed on our house yesterday (7/29). we're moving today, thankfully my husband is doing all of the moving and the big stuff is being moved by the movers. i just did the packing, but boy, these last 2 weeks of packing little by little has really been hard with almost ZERO energy (especially after a full day of work). Good luck and congrats to all the new mommies! :)

Just had my first check up and I was happy that my husband went with me so he could meet the doctor. I am more stressed than excited. I want to be excited but cant be because I just lost my job. My husband works about 3 part time seasonal bar tending jobs and now im just working random shift at our gym. I need to find a job fast because my job was the one that paid the bills. Also no job means no health insurance. I want to start thinking positive and plan things but right now I cant.

I too am 8 weeks and super duper scared. I also had brown discharge yesterday when I went to pee and I freaked out! I had a miscarriage 4 years ago and well now I am being extra careful with what I am doing. But brown discharge..is that really normal?? My first appointment to confirm that I am really pregnant is 8/10 and then once its confirmed, 8/19 is my first ultrasound. Im super praying that everything is OK and that in fact I am pregnant. Let me know if this discharge is normal!! Congrats to all the Mommies on here!!!

by kparedes80

I'm 8 weeks this week. the morning sickness has not been bad at all, just some nausea, but that is about it. I am exhausted most of the time though. This is my first, and a bit of a surprise at that. My BF decided it was a good idea to break things off the other day, so I'll be on my own, but I'm staying positive and super excited!

by brookecurro

Panezott1154, yes, it is normal if it is brown but check with your doctor to see if he has to prescribe something. I had the same thing and my doctor gave me progesterone pills, twice a day. Good luck :)

by nani26

I'm 8 weeks and just had the first (vaginal) ultrasound last week! We saw a tiny flicker on the screen which is the heart beat but its too early to hear it on the doppler (or so my nurse says). The vaginal ultrasounds can see a lot more earlier so if your insurance covers it and your doctor's office has the technology then push for that if you're impatient like me and want to see something. I've been fighting nausea, indigestion, constipation etc and I've found that the best cure (for me) is to walk, walk, walk. The fresh air and circulation really make me feel better. I hope that helps some of you too. I feel for all you ladies with the severe vomiting! Also, I've been taking over the counter pro-biotics and that really helps keep me regular and is a good thing to take (like vitamins) when you're pregnant too. Just more good stuff to put in your body for you and baby!

by HeatherLeeStuart

I'm 8 wks and 5 days pregnant! This is my 3rd pregnancy. I miscarried last year at 8 weeks and delivered at 24 weeks with our last one without notice due to infection. We miss our baby boy but God has again blessed us with another pregnancy that we are so thankful for! So far so good. I have an ultrasound in 2 days when I'm 9 weeks! we are so excited :) God is GOOD!

by lauraposey

Lots of first babies, how exciting!! This will be out 6th! We have a blended family he has 3, ages 21, 19, 11, I have 2 ages 18 and 14. My 18 year old is in basic training for the Navy and am so excited to have this baby that will build a bridge between our families. I am also 8 weeks today and feel extremely blessed! I just love to read your posts:)

by christyduarte

I'm nearly 9 weeks, and we got to see the baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound a few days ago! It was such a relief. We've told some friends about the pregnancy, and one talked about all the friends she knew who had miscarriages (why do people do that?). Ever since I've been terrified, and then last Weds I had the brown discharge too. So, it was a big relief to see the baby looking good. But the next 3.5 weeks cannot go fast enough! Luckily I haven't had any morning sickness, although my body did rebel and gain 10 lbs almost immediately (pre-prego I only ate about 900 cal per day), and the cramping has sucked.

by megan17240

Congrats to my fellow mommies-to-be! It hasn't settled in yet that I'm pregnant. This is the 1st for my husband and I, so I don't know what to expect and am trusting in God for the rest! So far NO morning sickness and I'm not feeling too tired. Only some minor food adversions. We are looking forward to our first OBGYN appt on 8/18. When has everyone else experience first signs of m/s?

by enairda08

I'm at 8 weeks! My husband and I are really excited. We are hoping everything goes well, we heard the baby's heartbeat on the ultra sound at 6 weeks! Strong little heartbeat! This is our second pregnancy. We lost our first one at 8 weeks. Praying that everyone's pregnancy is a happy and safe one with a bundle of joy(s) to take home in 9 or so months :)

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and had my 1st ultrasound. My husband and I got to see the baby's heartbeat! It was so awesome! We go back on 8/16 :)

I am almost 8 weeks pregnant. I don't have much nausea although this morning I did throw up. Odd but I feel much better now that I ate. I have already gained some weight. I do have food aversions and cravings. I am trying to ignore the cravings as much as possible. My boobs do hurt, not sure if they have grown or not but they do feel full. Pants are getting a little snug. This is our first. My husband is super excited.

Im eight weeks today. I am almost in tears over this major headache I am having. It started last night. I am not one to ever have headaches so what gives? My doctor said Tylenol was ok, but only a small relief. Is anyone else having headaches? I need some relief.

8 weeks pregnant with our second child. The first pregnancy was much easier; if I was tired, I took a nap. Now I am busy running around after our daughter who will be 1 this Sunday. The fatigue with this pregnancy is 100 times worse. Working 40+ hours a week, teaching spin and kickboxing classes, personal training, being a mom and a wife...exhausting!!!!!

8 weeks today! i'm starting to relax more. i called my doctor and get to pick up my zofran today. hoping it helps with the nausea! i've heard it's a wonder drug. i hate food right now and cannot drink plain water. sick. but i have found crystal light pure (no artificial sweeteners) makes it tolerable and rhode's rolls seem to go down pretty easily. besides that i try to munch on fruit. i had an internal u/s at 6 weeks 1 day at the heartbeat was 156! i'm wondering if i'm farther along than i thought. next u/s is sept 30! can't wait to see our little one!

by christinaalbrecht

I am also about 8 weeks into it... I had a physical and was told that I have a UTI, high cholesterol, and high thyroid imbalance! I am SOOOOO SCARED and NERVOUS!!! Any words of wisdom out there?

by PattyS1982

I hit 8 weeks yesterday. This is our first child and we're super excited! We had the US last Thursday and we could hear the heartbeat and see the baby moving! It was so amazing! I can't wait for our next appt. Slight queasy feeling, fatigue and ternder breasts, but other than that, symptoms haven't been too bad.

I was told that the brown mucus is the left over blood surounding the uterus that slowly goes away.

im 8 weeks 3 days, and we get our first sonogram on the 13th. I want an ultrasound so bad! I have been feeling really scared lately too, which makes me feel guilty. I am excited to be a mom and know that i will love it, but that doesn't shake the jitters.

by Saluteyourcourt

Is there anyone else here 8 weeks with twins too? I am terrified and super excited all in one. I'm due April 15th and wanted to see if there are other mommies here in my situation.

I am 8 weeks along and scared to death. I have a 9 year old son and I am a newly wed yay! The problem? After my son I told myself no more. He was the best thing ever to happen to me and I figured it just didn't get any better. Well here I am 9 years later with a precious little bun in the oven. Why am I not as excited as I should be??? I am thinking it is starting over that may be getting to me. Oh not to mention I am a full time student (5 classes away from getting my associates degree), I am an interning at an amazing company, I just got finished planning the wedding, and now I am extremely sick (Morning, noon, night sickness), suffering with fatigue and my husband wants to know why I am so moody lol. I just want to enjoy my preganancy! Well, now my boobs are getting sore and I am hitting them on everything some how. My pants are getting a tad bit hard to button, oh and did I mention I am going to be in a wedding in October and she wants me to lose weight?! Someone please pray for me lol.

i will be 8 wks pregnant at the end of the week and I am FINALLY almost over the fatigue and being out of breath! I couldn't even walk up one flight of stairs without stopping in the middle to catch my breath! Starting to feel nauseous throughout the day but it's not too too bad. I have a fluid filled cyst that is dissolving. The pains don't wake me up in the middle of the night anymore. That was the worst part of my first trimester..well, that and being tired all the time. Good luck to all the new mommies! SO exciting! :)

We just had our first ultrasound yesterday!!! So exciting to see that lil peanut!!!!

by jhart16er

I'm almost 8 weeks. We had our first ultrasound on Monday and saw the heartbeat. It was beautiful. I cannot get over the miracle of life that we have created. Although I have to urinate frequently and a little tired I haven't had any morning sickness (or all day sickness) yet. I'm wondering if I should be considered. I also can't seem to sleep for more than 5 hours a night. I'm often up at 4 a.m unable to go back to sleep. Is anyone else experiencing this yet?

by kmk0528

I'm in the same boat with the 24/7 sickness! Even with meds, I'm at what I call "Functioning Nauseaus! So sick of saltines and decided to upgrade to Ritz crackers until I get sick of those.

by altachica

Hey ladies, I'm 8 weeks 1 day today. I lost my first the end of May & got pregnant again in Aug. I heard the heartbeat at 6 weeks just to make sure everything was ok, had an ultrasound & got the picture. My boyfriend said he'll be more excited once we hit the 12 week mark, because then the chances of miscarrying are a lot less. Congrats ladies!

by nikkihinton

I am 8 weeks pregnant as well! This is my first child and we are thrilled! I have PCOS and didn't think I would be able to get pregnant so easily! We weren't even trying!!! I feel so very blessed, but also quite scared. :) I have been lucky enough not to have any morning sickness (keeping my fingers crossed) but have been waking up around 2 am with a flipping tummy. A snack usually helps. But man am I EXHAUSTED!!!!! I can't get enough sleep, yet am sleeping all the time! Looking forward to that part subsiding some. Congrats to all the other new mommas out there!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child! I can't believe I'm going to have 3 kids! Crazy! I go to my 2nd OB appointment tomorrow morning, hopefully I'll hear the heartbeat and get a picture! I have a lot of nausea, but no puking yet! I think I'm having another girl.

by brokencupcake

I will be 8 eight weeks by the end of the week. I was struggling with 24/7 sickness. However, there is a ginger gum made by Sea Band that chemo patients swear by and pregnant moms say works. I gave it a try and the sickness is gone within 15 minutes of chewing it. They sell it at CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid. I promise it WORKS!!!

by tafields60

I am 8 weeks pregnant and have really bad morning sickness too. i went to my ob, and she gave me Zofran. it works like a charm! I can now go to work, exercise, and actually eat the food I need and want to eat. And I get my second ultrasound tomorrow- i am excited!

by chestera514

I am 8 weeks today; we have told only a few people that we are pregnant b/c we are still nervous about a miscarriage. So far I have been feeling good; no morning sickness or throwing up. Should I be worried I'm not sick or enjoy it? Our first appointment is in 2 weeks....can't wait! I hope everything will be moving along nicely and there aren't any major surprises.

by blahbob

i will be 8 weeks tuesday 10/25/11 and i cant seem to eat anything i have to force my self to eat because of the morning sickness

by lizard3282

Yay 8 weeks, looking forward to first scan only 4 weeks away now

by Babbabe

I'm around 8 weeks now with our first! I've had morning sickness since about week 6, but it hasn't been bad enough where i'm throwing up. I've got the other typical symptoms as well: sore breasts, tired, lower back being sore, peeing like crazy..lol. I have cramping though that goes back and forth between my left and right side near my pelvis. Has any one been having this issue??

by Kelley336

We have our first appointment 8weeks tomorrow! Super excited! I was a little queasy, but have not thrown up yet. I have been working out 3-5x per week before work and It really helps get me through the day. I am out like a light by 8pm!

So I was sick this week and hopefully I did everything like I was supposed to. My doctor told me to take Benedryl and Tylenol. Is this alright? Could this hurt my baby? Also, I've been really sick in the mornings, but found keeping saltines at my bedside a HUGE help. My sense of smell has been really sensitive this week, because anything strong in smell completely grosses me out.

by claradmorrison

Omg...I wasn't able to function last week until I got my doctor to prescribe me Zofran! It's an amaing anti-nausea pill that won't zonk you like Phenergan, Reglan, or Compazine (I sleep for hours after one of those.) Pricey, but I"m able to function and work and pay for the med. Ask your OB about this one, laides! Now momma's happy--and eating! I'm sure baby's happier about it too! Now to work on the pesky constipation.....

by dsrpea

yeah...feeling sick..all the time...not just morning! D: I woke up at like 5am this morning feeling really sick, ran to the bathroom to throw up..then i went back to sleep. I dislike feeling nauseous all day everyday...mehh. and the father is being a total deadbeat..won't change his drinking or drug habits...and that isn't helping with the whole emotional pregnant woman me!

by emirree

I am approx. 8weeks and if I don't find help soon I'm going to loose my job! The sickness is killing me I am nauceous 24/7 and throw up constantly. I have tried everything including perscription Phenergan. IDK what to do! And the OB can't get me infor my first appt until Dec. 20th! What do I do??

by allisonvinson

Grats to all the other newly pregnant moms-to-be. I just had my first ultrasound this morning and it confirmed that I am about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant. It was the most incredible moment seeing the baby wiggling around; we could see its little arms and legs, both sides of its brain, and the flutter of its heartbeat. Can't wait until next July!

by tmaugust

Try ginger snap cookies for morning sickness, but you must check the ingredients to make sure they actually contain ginger otherwise its pointless. I find that as sick as I feel if i force myself to eat something, even if it takes 45 minutes to choke down a granola bar that I must do it in order to feel better. The cramping was freaking me out but according to all the info I have reviewed this is normal as long as its not severe, that helps me to worry less. This is my first baby so it's all so new to me...good luck ladies with your developing babes!

by nicolekiebler

Hi Panezott, to answer your question, I had that last week and then it turned to bright red so I went to the hospital and they gave me an ultrasound and an exam. If it is brown, it is old blood and most likely just some implantation bleeding. If it turns red and lasts over a day with abdominal cramping, that is when you should really worry. Its completley normal to have a little spotting at this time and the fact that it is brown emans that it is old.
