Most Common Pregnancy Symptoms

Think you're pregnant? Here are the top 10 signs you might be...

#1: Sore Boobs
Tender breasts and nipples are often the first sign. (Like when you get your period, only worse.)

#2: Darkening areolas (the area around the nipples).
This can start just a week or two after conception due to a hormone surge.

#3: Spotting
Light bleeding may occur five to 10 days after conception; this is a sign that the embryo has implanted itself in the uterine wall. (Home for the next nine months!)

#4: Full Bladder
Peeing (very!) frequently starts about two to three weeks after conception.

#5: Fatigue (we’re talking total exhaustion)
Loss of energy sets in thanks to hormones and your body’s efforts to start building baby.

#6: No Aunt Flo
Once you miss your period, it's time to whip out that pregnancy test!

#7: Morning Sickness
Nausea and vomiting (what a team!) strike some women very early, though most being their puke-fest around week six.

#8: Sensitive Snout
A heightened sense a smell can make your favorite dish smell like dead fish, thanks to a boost in estrogen levels.

#9: Cravings
Studies show that about 90% of women experience food cravings, especially in their first trimester.

#10: Bloating
Many women start swelling up early in pregnancy and maybe be even more puffy around the middle at the end of the day.

Hey, maybe some of this stuff isn’t so great... but the prize at the end sure is!

I'm 5 weeks along and I've not gotten any of these symptoms yet. Why not?

by PentacleSeven

I am at least 6 weeks along and the only symptoms I have had are periodic cramps and fatigue. Everyone I've talked to says that I should have more symptoms this far along, but I don't.

I have had sore breasts but no worse than usual. I have had headaches pretty much every day, though. That's the only symptom I've really had. I think I'd feel better if I had m/s, but if I do get it I'm sure I'd wish it away. I'll take what I have for now!

I'm the same way. I haven't had many symptoms either. Alot of fatigue, some dull cramping, and that's pretty much it! I've been told it's quite normal for some. Every woman is different, as well as each pregnancy.

I have had swollen breasts (and large nipples) that are sensitive with bright blue veins (going directly to the nipple) since week 3... that was one of the most tell tale sigs for me that my BFP was highly likely... I had cramping (on the left side) around ovulation and then every day a little twinge here and there, very light spotting (dark brown) on the day my period was due but is stopped immediately. Peeing frequently has increased and exhaustion... WOW! I do not see 10 o'clock much anymore and I am up early which is not a bad thing! Other than that I feel great! Quickly approaching week 6!! Happy & Healthy 9 months everyone!
