Baby Shower Theme: I Want Candy

Curb her pregnancy cravings and indulge the mama-to-be with a candy-themed bash.

Sweets and treats are the way to any girl's heart, especially one that's about to be a new mommy. Incorporate her favorite candies into the decor as well as the favors, cake, and anything else you can think of!

The Invite: A die-cut invite covered in candy jars or shaped like a lollipop from Traylor Papers is a sure way to give guests the hint that this shower will be a sweet time.

The Decor: Forget traditional flower centerpieces and set up a candy bar, using an assortment of glass apothecary jars on each table. Fill each with colorful, loose candies, such as gumballs, candy baby pacifiers, gummy bears, and other favorite snacks. For easy-to-make hanging decorations, wrap small colored lanterns in cellophane, tying the ends off using curling ribbon so they resemble a piece of old-fashioned wrapped candy. Hang them around the room using fishing wire or simply place them on tables.

The Cake: Cheesecake and brownies seem to top the list of any woman's favorite sweet cravings. Pick up an assortment in the mom-to-be's favorite flavors. We also love the idea of chocolate-dipped pretzel rods, covered in sprinkles and placed in parchment-paper lined vases or tall glasses.

The Game: Take a break from all of the sweets and have guests participate in a baby-food taste test. Lay out unlabeled jars and instruct them to guess the flavor. Another fun idea? Turn our Weird Pregnancy Cravings story into a true or false game, asking guests which cravings are true, mixing in some odd choices that are not. Prizes can include sweets, such as Sugar Babies, Baby Ruth bars, and lipstick candy.

The Favor: Before they head home, give guests a Couture Pop lollipop and invite them to fill up these adorable monogrammed candy jars from Plum Party with treats from the candy bar.
