Q&A: When should my period return after baby?

I recently had my baby. When should I expect my period to return?

Re: I recently had my baby. When should I expect my period to return?

The Bump Expert

That depends on whether you’re breastfeeding or not. If you’re not breastfeeding, your period could come back about six to eight weeks after delivery, maybe even sooner. If you’re fully or near-fully breastfeeding, it will actually take months to return. In fact, you might finish breastfeeding altogether before your period comes back. But here’s the real shocker: Even if you’re not getting your period, you can still get pregnant. You could ovulate, or release an egg, well before your menstrual cycle returns. So if you’re going to have sex -- and don’t want another little guy on the way so soon -- remember to use contraception. (And don’t say we didn’t warn you.)

Q&A: When should my period return after baby?

My baby just had her first birthday and I still don't have my period. I was only able to breastfeed exclusively for 3 months, then have been supplementing and pumping at work. I stopped pumping completely 3 months ago and am still breastfeeding in the morning and at night.

Q&A: When should my period return after baby?

I am breastfeeding only and my period just came when my daughter was 6mo. Very happy! But, I havent had another one yet, and it has been almost 2 months since... Is it normal? (btw, I was traveling (away of my husband) for 1 month and 1/2 - so, I don't think I am pregant)
