Q&A: How do I get these baby stains out of clothing?

OMG, is that poop on my shirt? How do I get these baby stains out of clothing?

Re: OMG, is that poop on my shirt? How do I get these baby stains out of clothing?

The Bump Expert

Here's help for tough stains:
POOP
Wipe off any poop with a spoon or dull knife and pretreat the stain with a stain remover like Spray 'N Wash. Let it sit on the garment for five minutes before tossing it in the washing machine. Check the stain after it goes through the wash. If it looks like it didn't come out fully, don't put it in the dryer--air-dry it instead, since the dryer can actually set the stain. For lingering stains, soak the garment in color-safe bleach for at least 30 minutes to get rid of any last poop traces.

PEE
Rinse the clothing in cold water and toss it into the washing machine as soon as you can! It's usually super easy to remove, as long as it doesn't sit too long, and it doesn't need to be treated with a stain remover, either.

SPIT-UP
Rinse the garment in cold water and use a stain remover before tossing it in the washing machine. If it's a big stain, you may want to soak it in warm water and detergent for 15 minutes first. Depending on what baby ate, the stain should come out easily. If it's still there after you wash and air-dry it, soak the garment in color-safe bleach.

BLOOD
Rinse the clothing in cold water and use a stain remover before putting it in the washing machine. Air-dry. If it's still there, treat the stain with hydrogen peroxide--it's mild, so it won't change the color of the garment and works well to get out blood.

Q&A: How do I get these baby stains out of clothing?

I've found that using powdered dishwasher detergent gets the yellow poop stains out. Simply pour some in a large bowl or bucket, dissolve in really hot water, add the garment and let it sit. Strange, I know, but it actually works! AND...it doesn't fade the colors of the garment. Buy the cheapest...Cascade isn't necessary!

It may sous strange, but we have always used the original blue Dawn dish liquid. Squirt it on and rub over the whole stain, let sit for 10 minutes (as you would any stain remover) and wash normally. It will amaze you! Those nasty dingy formula stains, urine, feces, etc. they all disappear! We use it on all stains. Good luck!

Shout is seriously a miracle worker.

As far as breastfed baby poop goes, the sun will take the stain out! Just wet it and set it in the sun for a few hours. The stain will magically disappear!

Q&A: How do I get these baby stains out of clothing?

I just bought two new infant headbands and my little Suzie (she's 6 months old) managed to get her formula all over them. How do I was delicate fabrics to remove the formula? it's all dried up in the fabric. I tried with cold water immediately after the incident but there's still a whitish stain. Any ideas?

Your problem was it a headband, imagine I just bought one of those new kids beds for my twins and they already stained it. I browsed and googled a lot and found of a firm that handles stuff like this at a small price. It is in the New York aria, so if you are not from around here I don't know what else to tell you. Kids will be kids but they will grow up someday.

I only use ALL Baby detergent with a free and clear softener (I don't use a clothes dryer) and the poop stains and food stains come right out with HOT HOT water.
