Can Twins Sleep in the Same Crib?

Is it okay for the babies to sleep in the same crib?

Is it okay for the babies to sleep in the same crib?

The Bump Expert

Yes! In fact, many pediatricians encourage it. You know how your bed seems empty when your partner is out of town? Think about how you’d feel if the two of you were together there 24 hours a day, for 35 weeks or more, then suddenly pulled apart. For twins, having each other close by is comforting, since they’ve been together since the get-go. So go ahead and let them sleep in the same crib. It’s totally safe, especially in the first few weeks, when they’re tightly swaddled and hardly move around. Once they start wiggling more and risk bumping each other, try a crib divider, which slips from side rail to side rail and splits the crib into two so each infant has his or her own space. Most models have Velcro attachments that go around the slats to stay in place. You can keep the divider for a few months, until the babies get big enough to need their own, separate cribs.

Can Twins Sleep in the Same Crib?

My twins do sleep better when they are together. My only problem is I'm trying to get them out of the carseat for bedtime. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks after they were born they would only fall asleep in their carseats that sat in their cribs. They're now 11 weeks and I'm trying to break them from that but also be able to get some sleep for myself and my husband. Any suggestions for a smooth transitions? I need to get this done for their sake!

My twins will be 9 months next week and they still sleep together in the crib. At night we have to lay them both down, if not they start feeling around for each other and wake up once they realize they're alone. It's really sweet.

Can Twins Sleep in the Same Crib?

My twins are 6 weeks old today and they still sleep in the same crib. The only time they didn't sleep together was while I was in the hospital, the nite they were born and the following nite because the hospital said they had to be in their own plastic tub. Since they just slept in the hospital, I don't think they noticed but at home they definitely enjoy sleeping together. My little guy often faces towards his sister when sleeping. :)

Can Twins Sleep in the Same Crib?

My twins are 7 months and sleeping on the same crib does NOT work. if one is fuzzy at night or moving a lot he wakes his brother up and its a disaster. I really prefer to sleep them on their own crib.

My twins will be 10 months in 2 days and since 1 month old I have had them in the same crib and since 2 months they have slept all night!!! We put them facing opposite directions, but by morning, they are cuddled as close as possible to each other!!! I love it!!!! They are so close already!!!

Can Twins Sleep in the Same Crib?

We had our twins co-sleep in 1 crib until about 2 weeks ago. They still nap and cuddle together in the co-sleeper in our room in the mornings but at night, they are sleeping in separate cribs now. They are almost 5 months old.

If you put your twins in the same cot, follow the same safe sleeping advice as for a single baby.

Can Twins Sleep in the Same Crib?

My boys are 4 months old and have only shared a crib on a handful of occasions such as when we were on vacation and a few times at home when we had a "POOP-SPLOSION" in the other crib, etc. They tend to wake each other up when they are that close to each other so we regularly keep them in separate cribs with a dresser in between for distance.
