vaccine schedule

Getting your baby vaccinated is the only way to prevent him from getting serious and even potentially life-threatening diseases like diphtheria and measles. Our vaccine schedule is recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and it helps you keep track of the immunizations that you child has had and will need. If you prefer to have a modified vaccine schedule you should speak to your child’s pediatrician.

This is not a tracker. This is a schedule.

by hijoi

It's a tracker if you write the date in the blue bubbles!

This is really a recommendation schedule from the CDC. If our child has a bad reaction to a vaccination, and they're all clumped together, it's difficult to tell which vaccination caused the reaction. I plan on spacing out my vaccinations a little.

by louiluv

My 10 week old is still waking up every 2 to 3 hours at night, is there something that I am not doing right, shouldn't she start sleeping more through the night at this age?

by lalagal2112

They give the shots on different legs so you can tell if there's a reaction. The CDC and doctors have thought through in great detail, have done much research on the topic, and their recommendations are good. Spacing out vaccines an be very dangerous (google pertussis).

by lt579

this is sick. no wonder American children have so many health problems. ugh. we need to stop injecting our children with poison and expecting their bodies to work correctly.

by shlayer

The HPV vaccine is not only for girls! Men are carriers and can be vaccinated too. The medical industry only encourages female vaccination because they think only women are affected by cervical cancer. However, if your son's future wife develops cancer I'm sure he will be deeply affected as well. Both sexes need to be vaccinated.

by lexicgrace

i would just love to hear from someone who decided NOT to vaccinate and why. I personally know a few people who havn't had any of their children vaccinated and I don't blame them...for a number of reasons. this is a HUGE decision and it is extremely controversial.

by gwendolyncarlson

My baby is 10 weeks and her vaccinations went well. I suggest a warm bath for those legs the first days after since the injection site is a bit bothersome and they can get a bit fussy. You can also softly massage the injection site to ease the pain. Other then that all should be well...

this is sad...no wonder we are all sick and our babies are unhealthy, obese, have multiple illnesses and learning disabilities not to mention autism!!

by lkaymoretti

Since when was the flu shot (influenza) considered a 'necessary vaccination'?? Since the statistics are showing that 1 in 70 boys now have autism (and I'm expecting a boy), I will pass on most of the 'necessary vaccinations'. It's sad that all the research and information is out there, yet we still just go along with doing what others tell us 'is necessary'. A good question that I had to ask myself was: who is the source that is telling me all this is 'necessary'? It's not the doctor (they are just following orders), and it's not anyone that I know or trust. I will just have to use my own judgement on this one.

by AmberK76

I already have 1 grandaughter with autism and her brother stopped talking. I will NOT get the MMR which is when my grandson when from full sentences at 14 months to not talking at all within a week of the shot. There are qutie a few that were not necessary when my daughter was born in 1989 I do not know why they are needed now. I never have had the Flu or the shot neither of the kids will either. Some of these shots seem so unnecessary. When I was born 1967, yep im an older mom to be, I needed hardly any shots and I am fine and I dont know anyone who died of chicken pox. or other diseases the now have shots for. It is just insane. Why do you need a shot for chicken pox when it only makes it not so bad when you get it.

Thanks to The Bump writers for helping all of these new unsuspecting mothers to follow along with the zombie herd. Moms, please question these vaccines and do your research. I decided to get only 2 of the recommended shots, spacing them out. The first one went fine (DtaP) A month later my son had a reaction to Prevnar 13 and was in a trance for 3 days. I thougt he was going to be brain damaged or even worse die from "SIDS". http://www.vaccineriskawareness.com/ FYI, BREASTFED BABIES ARE ARE PROTECTED AS WELL AS VACCINATED BABIES. http://www.vaccineriskawareness.com/Disease-Killing-Properties-Of-Breast-Milk

I have chosen not to vaccinate my child. She is perfectly healthy the way she is and I don't think it's necessary to inject her full of toxins. A good friend of mine is a pediatrician and she is against vaccinations. She does not vaccinate her children and showed me an article about how they damage the nervous system and can cause neurological diseases and disorders later in life like alzheimers, multiple sclerosis, etc. Everyone has the choice, just make sure you educate yourself on what exactly is going into your baby.

by LaurenandElizabeth

i dont plan to vaccinate my baby once he's here. ive done tons of research on it and very easily decided not to. there are so many side effects to them all, i just dont believe it to be healthy. my son will get the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine and thats all. im holistic though, and believe in doing things the natural way. children with autism is 1 in about 80, four or five years ago, it was 1 in a hundred or more-now im not sure if that has to do with the vaccines there giving out now..but it clearly says something about what new were doing-food, medicine, vaccines, etc.

by brandybear08

Medications do not cause autism. Get your babies vaccinated! The unvaccinated babies are making everyone else sick! UGH!

by lolorr77

Vaccinations can protect your child as well as the children and adults around them. There is no scientific link between any vaccination and autism. Vaccinations are not "poison." Most are inactivated (dead) or attenuated (altered to be harmless). They help your child build antibodies to protect them from deadly viruses and bacteria. For instance an infant with pertussis will cough so hard that his/her ribs will break! A child infected with the Rotavirus can quickly become dehydrated from severe vomiting and diarrhea. Both illnesses can quickly lead to death even with our modern medicine - especially in a child. I highly recommend that all parents research the benefits and risks of vaccines through credible resources like the CDC, your child's pediatrician, the World Health Organization, PubMed, etc. Don't believe everything you hear in the mainstream media.

by sparsolano

This is not accurate. Every doctor is different. My son had a reaction to the MMR so I think were going to pass on the 2nd does coming up..

If you would all like up-to-date, unbiased, solidly researched info on this very serious matter, check out Dr. Lauren Feder's webite and book.

by CrystalDangora

As a mom of 3 boys, I cannot in good conscience recommend to anyone to have a child vaccinated. The risk is too great. Out of the three 1 had a problem with the MMR. If more people opt out of getting the vaccine, the medical industry will be forced to make better vaccines - if actually needed.

As others have mentioned, the above chart should be used as a guideline only. My husband and I chose not to vaccinate our daughter (almost 2 years old) and instead promote good health in her life with plenty of rest, feeding her only organic foods and avoiding processed foods/desserts, and breastfeeding. We also have her take off her shoes and wash her hands every time we enter our home. At almost 2 years old, she's never had any kind of infection, no antibiotics, and I'm happy to say vaccine free. It is every family's responsibility to decide what schedule is appropriate based on research and discussion between the parents and health care provider.

Hello Everyone, I am a FTM and my dd is 4mths. I have done a lot of research on a variety of topics in preparation for my dd's arrival and well being. However, this subject of vaccination is complex and I am still not sure what to do. I was wondering if there was anyone on the board that was willing to help me work through this. I am EBF my dd and she has had some of the vaccines but my heart just isn't settled. My email is dimicioandlakiesha@gmail.com. Thanks!
