Fitness Expert: Tracey Mallett

Tracey is an internationally recognized personal trainer, fitness instructor, and sports nutritionist certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of American (AFAA) and the National Academy of Sports Nutrition (NASN). A mother herself, Tracey knows firsthand how easy it can be to let life's daily stresses derail your own health and wellness. After her first pregnancy brought on a 55-pound weight gain, she placed her fitness career on hold, feeling a complete lack of self-confidence. But she also knows what it takes to get back on track and back into shape. Today Tracey is the owner of ATP Specific Training and Physical Therapy in Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband and two young children. Her latest book, Sexy in 6 (with accompanying DVD), is available now at Amazon.

Are there any yoga poses that are not safe durring pregnancy?

by robandlaura

What exercises should I stay away from if I am trying to get pregnant? Or should I just keep on doing what I have been which is a bootcamp at 6am Monday-Friday?

I've been thinking that after my son is born i would like to lose all of my baby weight. When is it ok to start exercising? I was told that i couldn't do anything for the first month after baby?

PLEASE HELP!! We are newly weds and are now thinking about the next step "the bump". So we both have our individual insurance (not through company) but neither cover pregnancy so we are on the lookout of what we need to do. The obvious answer is to find another insurance. We were thinking maybe 6 months from now starting but isnt there a 1yr waiting period? would it be better to save instead? we are also thinking c-section due to his father having 6 kids and all 9lbs and up. Do you reccomend an ins? we are lost. thank you

Insanity is a workout regimen similar to P90X in that it claims to improve fitness through strenuous stamina, but is meant to be tougher than P90X in that it delivers results in only 60 days. Insanity's advertising emphasizes "max interval training", a method of exercising during which one works out strenuously for 3–4 minutes and then rests or "cools down" for approximately 30 seconds before starting the whole process over again.-Jonathan Berkowitz
