Re: Will my preemie’s vaccination schedule be different from other babies because of her adjusted age?
No, vaccinations follow real or actual age, with the exception of the hepatitis B series, which is normally given at birth. The hepatitis B vaccine is more effective if it is given when a baby weighs at least 2,000 g (4 lbs 7 oz); so if a baby is at low risk for hepatitis B (meaning Mom tests negative for the virus), the vaccine will be delayed until a preemie weighs enough.
