How long will it take for my preemie to "catch up" to other babies his age in terms of meeting all of his milestones?

The Bump Expert

Most doctors say it will take two years for most premature babies to “catch up” to others their age. However, many parents of extremely premature babies (28 weeks or less) say it takes even longer. This may be the case with babies who have more medical challenges, regardless of gestational age. But what’s more important than a specific “catch-up” age is a baby who continues to follow her own growth curve and is making progress developmentally.
