Sample Baby Schedule: Nine Month Old
Schedule of a 9-month-old, formula-fed baby girl (submitted by Meghan H.)
8 - 9 a.m. Wake up. Immediately have a 5 ounce bottle of formula. Get dressed, diapered and head out to her grandparents (who watch her while mommy and daddy are working).
9:30 a.m. Breakfast of baby cereal and 2 ounces of fruit.
10 – 11 a.m. Playtime.
11 a.m. – noon Morning nap.
Noon – 1 p.m. When she wakes up between this window of time, she gets another 5 ounce bottle of formula, along with some type of protein (like baby yogurt, egg yolk, or shredded cheese) and another 2-4 ounces of fruit for lunch.
1 – 2 p.m. Playtime.
2 p.m. Snack (Gerber Puffs, MumMum, or rice cakes).
2:30 – 4 p.m. Longer afternoon nap.
4 – 5 p.m. She gets another 5 ounce bottle of formula when she wakes up.
6 p.m. Mom or dad pick her up from her grandmother’s.
6:30 p.m. Dinner of protein and vegetable, maybe a little bit of 50/50 apple juice and water in a sippy cup. Then we give her a little bit of what we are eating for dinner for finger food practice.
7 – 8 p.m. Playtime
8:05 p.m. She gets a bath every two days. If no bath, we might extend playtime, or if she looks tired we put her to bed right away.
9 p.m. We try to get her to bed by 9, but most nights it’s more like 8 or 8:30. If she wakes up in the middle of the night due to teething pain, I’ll give her some Tylenol in another bottle (maybe 4 ounces) to help her get back to sleep. She generally sleeps 12 hours straight through the night.
