There’s a certain school of thought that holds that having an orgasm during sex will increase your chance of conception because the hormone oxytocin (released in peak levels after you’ve reached the big O) can cause uterine contractions that push the sperm toward the egg a little faster. Unfortunately, there’s no real medical evidence to support the claim. By and large, most sperm do perfectly fine on their own, no help necessary. Of course, having an orgasm during sex certainly makes things a lot more fun, so relax and enjoy. I'm not an MD or anything fancy, but there has been a study that relates female orgasm timing to (amount of) sperm retention, and to some it may logically follow that there is a direct correlation to the amount of sperm retained and the likelihood of getting pregnant. Naturally, the study itself will not be found free online--even if I did know the names of the researchers off the top of my head--but there are dozens of summaries available to the general public. This isn't the best one as I admit my search was hasty, but it wouldn't be difficult to find a more detailed summary of the study by doing your own Google search. http://infertility.about.com/od/sextogetpregnant/f/Is-Female-Orgasm-Important-To-Get-Pregnant.htm amzlmm | Want to participate?
