Q&A: Can stress cause infertility?

Can stress really cause or contribute to infertility?

Re: Can stress really cause or contribute to infertility?

The Bump Expert Stress can certainly ruin one's life, but as long as regular menstrual cycles are present, it probably does not have significant effects on fertility. However, stress that comes from intense psychological factors, strenuous exercise (such as marathon training) or eating disorders can contribute to ovulation dysfunction and irregularities, which can in turn lead to infertility.

re: Q: Stress and TTC?

just last month I was convinced that I was preg. I took 4 home test, and then another 2 doctor tests. My doctor wasn't even fully convinced that I wasn't pregnant, she actually sent me to the hospital for an ultrasound. I am not pregnant, and after all of that, I actually got AF a week later. I have been trying to stress a little less since then. Hopefully this month will be our lucky month :)

re: Q: Stress and TTC?

This happened to me. I wasn't TTC. I have never missed a period in my life. I was 2 weeks late. Took 3 HPT, 1 test at teh dr. and all negative. I had alot of sympotoms...but I wasn't preggers. Dr. made me take medication to start and the next month I started on the day I usually do. Now...I'm supposed to start next week. But DH and I decided to TTC after all of the talk about possibly being pregnant .... SO I hope that I will be. But still nervous we'll just go through all of this again. I'm afraid that because of the stress I won't start. Ugh... I wish it was so much easier.

re: Q: Stress and TTC?

Yeah, I think whoever wrote the answer to this is wrong. Every person I've ever talked to about this subject has said that stress is a factor. Any time I stress abuot AF or TTC, my AF always comes late.

Q&A: Can stress cause infertility?

I am extremely stressed out. I have been stressed for a month or two. I am 2 weeks late and the tests all say I am not pregnant. I have been trying everything to calm down and WHOOSAWWWW. I feel fairly relaxed and am learning to deal with my stressful situation (that won't be going away anytime soon), but there has been no sign of bleeding. Stress can definitely affect your fertility.

Q&A: Can stress cause infertility?

I feel the same way--my husband and I have been trying for about 9 months and still nothing. I'm stressed all of the time--what if I'm not pregnant? And even--what if I am?? Is anybody else feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of being a mother? I'd love to hear from anyone who is trying to cope with anxiety and depression and TTC. When my husband and I decided to start trying, I went off of my anti-depression/anti-anxiety meds even though my doctor said I could stay on them with "minimal risks." I felt that I wanted to make a go of it without the meds--better to have as little risks as possible. Now it's 9 months later and I'm going out of my mind. Some days, I worry that we are going to have a problem TTC, but most days, I'm just frightened by the prospect of becoming a mother--especially in this mental state. Anyone have advice? Or is anyone experiencing a similar thing? I feel like a crazy person . . .

RE: Cami I do feel the same way.. been trying for 7 mts and I am stressed that my body can't do what it's "supposed too" but then I have other days of freak out that I will go into post partum depression when the baby comes and what if I dont know what to do and how will I react with minimal sleep as I dont do well with that now.. I have days I cry for a baby , and others when I panic about one...
