So, I had a day or two of "very light" spotting before my period was due. I tested on Friday (before the spotting started) and it was negative. I'm supposed to start my period today but nothing as of 1pm this afternoon. Should I do a re-test tonight? or wait a couple days to see if my period comes? I'm hoping this was implantation bleeding... here's hoping!!

I had a blood test done on Friday & blood test was negative. Saturday & Sunday I had some very light bleeding. I wonder if I got pregnant the day after I got blood test to see if I was pregnant? I sure hope so! The HCG levels don't show up until it implants, so I guess there is a possibility. I'm really hoping so!! I miscarried last month and want to be pregnant again asap! :)

My last period began October 13.. I started birth control October 17th and started having unprotected sex right away. I started "bleeding" November 3rd and have not stopped (it's NOT a continuous flow...It began with spotting and now it's thick black goo..sorry TMI). Today is November 9th. I'm not sure if this is implantation bleeding. From what I know about implantation bleeding, it shouldn't last this long. Any thoughts?

When we tried the first time with my daughter I didn’t think anything of the spotting I thought I was having a period... so another month pasted and I didn’t get my period so I took a test and it came out positive. So it does happen for me it was light pink and lasted a day only when I would go to the bathroom and wipe. we are trying again I am a little stressed b/c I have lost a baby and then when we had our daughter now it took 2 years...I use a calendar to track when we should make sure we make love and I am passed my cycle date right now and had the same spotting as before so I am scarred to take to test and it be neg I don’t want to be upset... if you have are 8 weeks and are spotting still you should see a doctor u really shouldn’t have implantation that far along so u can never can be to safe after I loss a baby I don’t take chances.

I am having the same problem. I went to my Dr on 2-25 and had a negative urine test. On 2-27 I had the light pink discharge. Since then I have had a white discharge. I took a home test about a week ago and it showed negative as well. I am off of BC and started taking prenatal vitamins. I have another Dr appointment tomorrow for a blood test. Could the urine tests be wrong? I've been nauseated for a while now with it being the worst at night. Friends that I have talked to said it definitely sounds like I could be pregnant with the symptoms that I am having. It's a scary feeling not knowing. Does anyone have any advice?

I've never had a "to the day" period, so my best estimate was that it was 1-2 days before I should have started my period.

I was at work on Thursday and noticed a very light pink discharge when I wiped. I though nothing of it but when I went home that night I though I'd take a PT, even though my period was not due for another week. Sure enough after 2 minutes the test came back with a big fat YOUR PREGNANT on it. So just to make sure I retested the next morning and again the following day and sure enough as soon as the pee hit the stick it came out positive. I used EPT Certainty.

I was waiting for the missed period to be sure. 4 days before the due date for my period, I started getting very light spotting, which is rare for me. I have never spotted. The next day, I had very heavy bleeding. I thought my period was here. It only lasted for 24 hours. Again, all of this is new for my body ... never spotted, never been early, and never had a period (or any bleeding) last for only a day. I've been extremely tired and hungry. My husband thinks I'm pregnant, but I'm skeptical. I'm going to hold off on taking a pregnancy test.

For me I went off BC Jan 25. I blead for 4 days as normal and then after being intimate with my husband on March 7, 9 and 12 I had one spot in my panties. I thought nothing of it until March 20th when I went for a walk and thought AF came to visit, it was very dark red but only saturated my panties. My jeans didn't have any mess on them. At this point I was experiencing all of the pregnancy symptoms except nausea. I had tender breasts, goose bumps on my nipples, tired, smell sensitivity, frequent urination and my temperature was higher than normal. When you are pregnant your body temp normally rises 1 degree and stays elevated until after you give birth. What was strange was that after my walk no AF seemed to just dissappear. A week later the PT was faintly positive. I saw my doctor the following Monday and their PT was negative but the blood test came back positive. They were surprised about the blood test being positive. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant and we are both extreamly excited about it!

I was expecting my period the same week I bled from implantation. I mistook the cramping and light spotting for my period, but it only lasted a couple of hours. The cramps (which were pretty heavy) only lasted a couple of minutes and the spotting went away in the same day. I wondered what happened, took a pregnancy test, and voila I was pregnant. :o)

Not sure! AF was supposed to come Aug 21, on Aug 16-18 had a very light, dark brownish red spotting. My periods have always been regular so I thought it might have been implantation bleeding. I took a PT on Friday Aug 21 BFN! Still no AF so took 2 more PT yesterday both BFN!!!! I have been ttc for over a year and a half!!! I kinda feel pregnant with the urine frequencies and nausea at night! I have a 3.5 year old and did the same thing with her except the spotting! I made an appt with OBGYN for Friday! Hopefully blood test will be positive!

After going through infertility treatments for a few months, I started spotting lightly last month - less than two weeks after an IUI. It was very light and pretty dark brown. I thought I was getting ready to start my period, but it was few days early. I took a home pregnancy test the next day and it was positive! It was confirmed by a blood test 2 days later. I had implantation bleeding and it was nothing like spotting or a period. It was a tiny red streak in my regular clear discharge and that was it! Never saw another drop of blood, even around when I thought I should have a period. If I hadn't been looking, I would have totally missed my early pregnancy sign. The implantation bleeding was a few days after conception, and yet a few days before my regular period would have appeared. Don't be afraid to get a pregnancy test a week after implantation bleeding. Worked for me! But we had been charting my temperature precisely since my previous period and implantation bleeding occurred to the day every written source told us it would, which made it SUPER easy. We knew the exact dates of my period and the exact date of implantation bleeding, so our doctor had a very clear idea of the date of conception. But baby could still be early or late! Not matter how precise you are with tracking and calculations. Good luck!

Took a test...well I actually took FOUR tests on Sunday and they were all POSITIVE, but starting yesterday morning (Monday) I am having the spotting. I freaked out and called my doctor and she said it is pretty normal as long as it only lasts a few days and is brown in color. If it turns bright red or is heavy then I need to go in. She also said not only can it be implantation bleeding, but if you have had intercourse recently (after you conceived) that can also be the cause of some light spotting. I completely mistook implantation bleeding for my period. I started spotting two days before my expected period, and the spotting continued for a week. I thought I was having a light, longer period. The next month, I missed my period, took a test (several) and it was positive. I was ecstatic! It wasn't until I had heavy cramping and went in for an early ultrasound at what I thought was 7 weeks pregnant and was informed that I was 11 and a half weeks pregnant!!!! I was shocked. I had read about implantation bleeding and no where did I see anything about it lasting a whole week. I didn't have morning sickness and hadn't started showing so although I was shocked to find out I was three months pregnant, instead of two months, I happily said goodbye to the first trimester. Beware of implantation bleeding!

@ShylaPeterson I came to this website to learn about implantation bleeding, because that's exactly what's been happening to me -- I'm on the pill, my "period" came last week about 3 days early, and while it was incredibly light (I alternated between pantiliners and lite absorbency tampons, when I usually have to use super absorbency tampons for the first few days), it still lasted a whole week. My husband has just been brushing it off as a blip in my cycle due to a missed pill, but I've been thinking that it might be something more than that -- weirded out by the fact that less "stuff" was gotten rid of then usual, I guess. I've been reading up on implantation bleeding, and most sources I've found say that it typically lasts no more than 3 days. If yours lasted a whole week, though... I've been considering taking a pregnancy test, maybe I'll do that tonight.

Yesterday (Tuesday) AF was scheduled to arrive and didn't. I took a test (2 actually) and they were positive. Since Tues I have been cramping mildly and have had minimal- generally only when I wipe- dark brown spotting. It is now Wed: cramps have eased a lot , but spotting is still there minimally. I don't know too much about implantation bleeding, but do remember hearing various women telling me that it could happen. I know for myself, I became pregnant about a week before my period was due and still ended up having one. It was different from my other periods- the bleeding was brownish and I just had heavy "spotting" instead of my usual (sorry if that is graphic). I didn't even realize I was so far along when I found out I was pregnant because I had mistaken that as my period and it is the only thing I can attribute it to. *shrug* I hope that helps. :)

I had very light bleeding red and brown for two days and assumed I would get my period shortly. Instead, the bleeding stopped and I took a test a day later and I was pregnant. If you don't get a normal heavy flow like a normal period yes you could be pregnant. Take a test just to be sure! First Response ones are the most sensitive on the market. I had light spotting for a few more weeks and it ended up being due to my cervix being sensitive, no baby problems. Spotting is scary once you know you're pregnant but can be normal too. I wonder if youre more likely to have this if you had implantation bleeding? all is well so far, I am now 24 weeks pregnant.

My husband and I are ttc. I had an IUD implanted for 5 years and had it taken out in May. I got what I thought was a period on the 19th of May. Being that I hadn't had a period in a long time, I am not sure when I am even supposed to have one. We have had regular intercourse since that time. For the past week I have been constipated, and I am usually very regular. I have also had a loss of appetite. I am not hungry and when I do eat, I do not feel full like I used to. About 2 days ago I had some pinching sensation in my lower right abdomen. Yesterday I started a light brown pinkish spotting. Today it is heaver and I have dull consistant cramp like feelings in my lower abdomen. I took two pregnancy tests today and both came back with a faint positive. Is it normal to be bleeding and cramping and still have a positive test, or am I miscarrying, or just an early period?

My husband and I aren't planning on TTC until October. But this past month's cycle has been weird. I felt like everything was pushed up a week. I currently take the pill, so I notice my body changes according to the week I am on. Anyway, I am not supposed to start my period until next week. I started spotting last Friday, though, and am still spotting(today is Tuesday). It is brown and light (meaning I only have to wear a panty liner). My periods have always been regular with heavy flows so this one is definitely different for me. Plus, I experienced some light cramping the first two days of spotting. But cramps are a normal thing with my period. Not sure if I should get my hopes up and consider this implantation bleeding or not. Guess I will have to wait and see if my actual period shows up next week.

Hope i can clarify the two causes :) I had a miscarriage in sep 20th. On that one I started lightly spotting for about an hour or two and after that it got worse. after a day or two i started heavily bleeding but just like a period. I had 16 HCG that was too small of a number for my hormone level. On the second pregnancy which happened soon after, I found out on a monday and by thursday i spotted again, but this time it lasted 2 days and it was very light. Then it started again after two days of stopping completely then started again for two days. My hormone level went up significantly and doc says im good :) before i stopped spotting the first time this pregnancy it started coming out dark brown and with like idk not clots idk what it was. lol. but i havent bled or spotted in the past 5 days so i believe im good :) hope this helped

Hello everyone. I just have a quick question and would like anyone to respond with what they think is best. Well first of all back in november I was suppose to have my period on thhe 12th and yes I had a littel bit of cramps and the a spot or two of blood. However I thought that was the start of my period but I never came on the whole month of november. Then I got my period on the 17th of december and it lasted about 6 days but it wasn't my regular period. I was abel to wear one pad all day if I wanted to. Anyway now it is january and during my fertill period I seen some blood in my underwear so I thought I would start my period but nothing then today is my ovulation time and when I wiped there was some bright red blood but now there isn't anything now. Should I be cacern that I am pregnant or is there something else wrong with me. I have took 2 hpt and a blood test back in early december all negative but I have been having sharpe pains in my stomach, sharpe pains in my back. And my nippels ach every once in a while. I have acid reflexe so idk if my throwing up has anything to do with it. Also when my mom was pregnant with me she didn't know til she was delivering me. She had her period every month could that be genatic? My doctor said I just need to loose weight but I know something else is wrong cause I know my body. Please, please help me!! I have had spotting for about 8 days now. It has been very light and red/pink in color. I only see it when I wipe. There was one night that it was much heavier and I passed some clots after rough intercourse (sorry, TMI). I just had a pap on the first day of the spotting for my yearly exam. I have also been on birth control for years and this spotting/period is happening in the middle of the month, not on my scheduled time. I went back to my GYN yesterday and she ordered some blood tests. Now I am freaking out waiting…. Could I be pregnant? PLEASE HELP!!!

So I started my period feb5 and ended feb 9.. Today is the 20th. From the 19-23 is my fertile time and 24 is my ovulation.. Q&A: Can implantation bleeding be a sign of pregnancy?

i have been having the same problem. my last period was January 3 2012. Today is march 18th. But me and my boyfriend didnt start having sex until February. I was supposed to start my next period on Feb. 22nd, and i didnt. i started spotting on march 12th. it was a very light pink and only noticable when i wiped. its now 5 days later and im still spotting with mild cramping. The spotting isn't as light, its just a tad darker then the light pink and theres a little bit more of it. i took a test on the 16th and the 2nd line was barely there. You had to look really hard to see it. i took a digital one today and it said not pregnant. i have an appointment on the 21st, but i really want to know now, is it bad that im cramping and bleeding? im not sure what to think.

Im kind of having the same issue heres my story to sum it up a little bit. I went on vacation with my boyfriend, we ended up having unprotected sex. the next day i go on the internet to check when my ovulation would take place come to find out the days we had unprotected sex were my EXACT ovulation days. Well my period was due between the 13th-15th of this month. 13th nothing 14th nothing 15th i had brown spotting in the morning then nothing through the day the 16th i had a little bit of a heavier brown but still no red the 17th i had nothing then the 18th i had brown and then finally saw red then the next two days after that i had a heavier kind of period. i was a little scared i did take a HPT but it came back negative. my breast are swollen and huge ive had nausea but no vomiting. have had to pee alot get headaches at random. im not sure what is going on... any answers ? =\

A few gals above said they are 8+ weeks pregnant and they indicated they have bleed a little or found pinkish discharge only when the wipe. I had the same thing at week 8 and again at week 10 and it freaked me out. Take a breathe, it's ok. My doctor said there are so many factors. Right now your cervix bleeds very easily, especially a day after intercourse. Also, you have to figure...your uterus is stretching bigger and bigger and sometimes it's the thickening of your uterus wall and it discharges. Also remember, right now you are more likely to come down with a yeast infection so that may be a factor of discharge. Always consult your doctor if something seems weird or you aren't sure what it is. It would freak me out when I would read something from a woman who didn't have the symptoms but gave her opinion and immediately said, 'oh it could be a miscarriage.' I of course would call my doctor for their opinion. It's a scary road and normal to be a concerned parent!

this is actually very informative " Since the uterine lining is nice and rich with blood, some women spot a bit at this point. Implantation bleeding is totally normal and not a cause for concern.
