My husband and i did it every day. I also have a tilted cervix so doing it doggie style helped but accasionally we would prob a pillow under my butt for 20min or so. But it's been told that if you and you're man climax at the same time it also helps the chances of you conceiving. The reason being is because when a women climaxes the inside pulsates and the sperm is actually pulled up towards the egg instead of taking a longer journey. *15 weeks and 6 days Preg *good luck y'all*

When we got pregnant with our DD we were doing it every other day. That was recommended by my OB to keep the sperm count high. I also would put a pillow under my butt after and I always ended up falling asleep like that. I would wake up at like 2 am to take the pillow out from underneath me, ha! BTW, it still took us 6 months of trying to get pregnant.

we had sex every other day for an entire month........and we got pregnant the first month, four times. i know it's not always that simple, but the good thing about every other day for an entire month is that you know that you have a constant supply of sperm no matter when that egg comes. i have recommended this to several friends and it has been surefire! i think part of the reason it works so well is because so many times we do waaay too much science to try and figure out when we ovulate, and we can still be totally off....this way, whenever you do ovulate, there is sperm there to work its magic. good luck and blessings to you!

Me and my fiance have been TTC our first for 5 months now. We've tried every possible position. (Doggy, missionary, sitting on his lap, standing, sideways... the whole lot!) Nothing has worked so far. And yes, we've tried it every other day and sometimes even daily. I've done the pillow thing, too. It's getting discouraging, but maybe that's why I'm not a mommy-to-be yet - Stress. Oh well. I guess I can try "doing the candle," which I've yet to try since this is my first time hearing of it... The first month we were trying, we assumed that Day 14 after AF started was the day, so we went every other day for several days before and after. Then I started reading about conception and learned that you ovulate 10-16 days BEFORE your next period starts. Since I have a long (38 day) cycle, we were totally off trying to have sex around the 14th day. Granted we have sex fairly regularly, regardless, so it might not have made much of a difference. I was just shocked to discover how little I knew about ovulation!

I tried putting a pillow under my butt and holding my legs up in the air this weekend, but because it was after me being on top, it started coming out anyway. Is this bad? As for the sperm running out question - this happens to me as well and I asked a friend who has a 2 year old and just found out she is pregnant again this question and she said it happens to her as well. I've researched it and everything I've read says it's totally normal. I'm in month #2 TTC. I just came off the pill after being on it for 7 years. I had a normal period the first month and then nothing for almost 7 weeks since! I've tested and it's negative. Has anyone had this experience after coming off the pill??

They put me on progesterone in November and again in January, then put me back on birth control for 3 months to get me regular again...I did and have continued to have my own periods since going off bc again in July!!!. dmsciarr- I have been on and off the pill about 3 times in my life, I finally gave up on it. I can't stand taking it. The first 2 times I ended it everything went right back on track but the last time I was only on YAZ for just a few months and after I stopped taking it my periods were few and far between it took over a year to get back on course. Finally 7 months later I was TTC. My periods have been regular since March 09 and before that I hadn't been on the pill since July 07. I hope you have much better success with getting regular better yet I hope you conceive first... :)

It takes 24hrs for you man to build up a full load. If you have sex more often than that, you are decreasing your chances. Find out when you are ovulating. Everyone says day 14-16 is the best chance but I recently learned I don't OV till day 26.

i hate to say this but i tried to get pregnant for several years (almost 15). when i finally got pregnant, i was on the pill, taking steroids for asthma and antibiotics. if you are finding it really difficult to get pregnant have your doctor check you ph. if it is to acidic (like mine was) you might have to try the tukey baster to keep your body from killing off the sperm or you can always hope to get sick. we are planning ttc next year. and i'm going to flat out ask my doctor for the steroids.

To the ladies who's period was out of whack after coming off the pill, I was told by three different doctors, that its always best to wait 2-4 months of coming off the pill, before trying to get pregnant, to give your body a chance to adjust. I was on the pill for years, simply because I have Polycestic Ovarian Sen. and the pill was the only thing that balanced out a monthly peirod. And I also know that the more sevre the PCOS is, the harder it is to get pregnant with out the use of treatment, such as ferility drugs and estrogen treatment. But two out of every five women DO suffer from PCOS. Things that indicate are a history of high blood sugar, low blood sugar, erregular peirods when not on the pill, when having a peirod, sevre and painful cramping, high blood pressure. I'm really not trying to scare anyone, because it is really managable, but I've always told my friend if they're experiencing any of those that maybe they should talk to their doctors about PCOS. And a high majority of women who do have PCOS CAN and DO get pregnant once they and their doctors work out whats best for them.

My dr. recommended sex every other day from cd 13-20 of my cycle. I also used the Instead cups which are for menstration but they are placed inside so the sperm stay in the female and you can leave them in for up to 12 hours! A few friends got pregnant this way as well and I am 4 days past ovulation now so we'll see if they helped. As far as positions, I read if you want a girl, missionary is better but for a boy, doggie style works best. I don't have a preference but we do mix it up a bit to see which way works best for us.

We've had sex every day and I use the pillow under the bum technique - we also have fun with it too, nighties, toys, ect..(sorry if TMI) and NOW I have had cramping since Friday the 8th...could this be imlantation? Anyone ttc i highly suggest reading a book on fertility. or going to fertitlityfriend.com. i have learned so much about my body and how it works. There's only about 5 days u are able to concieve. Once your able to understand ovulation, it may help. I've only been ttc going on my 2nd month but after reading a book on fertility...Takin Charge of your Fertility, i learned the signs to look for when your ovulating and so much more. hopefully after reading just a few chapters, my up coming month will be successful. I read a lot about positions and they all pretty much said "missionary" or "doggie style" are the best for pointing the boys in the right direction. Something VERY important is to be as turned on as possible because the sperm swim better in "juices" and live longer. Doc told us to grab a bottle of wine and some porn for the weekend I was ovulating....lol! We had been stressing sooo much and it was starting to feel like "work". Worked like a charm! To any of the ladies with irregular cycles try Vitex (Chasteberry). It is a herb that helps to balance the hormones to help you conceive. Just don't take it between Ovulation and AF because you are not supposed to take it if you might be pregnant. Start taking it on Day 1 of your period and then stop the day that you ovulate. It has already regulated my cycle and I am only on month 1 of TTC after I had an ectopic last summer.

My husband and I, both 30, have been TTC for 8 months. The first few months I cried when my period started. I've stopped stressing myself out like that. We are doing ALL of the advice: ovulation kits, every other day performances (some months every day near ovulation), basil body temperature, mucus stretch, lift pelvis after intercourse, him on top, making sure I orgasim, even just flat out praying. Our doctors say our blood tests are normal, but I'm afraid it's going to come down to fertility testing in 4 months. The hardest part for me is being happy for all of those who become pregnant in the interim. I swear, every time my period starts I receive another announcement about someone else's bun baking. EVERY TIME! Ugh!

I've been TTC for 4 months- now we're doing "fresh & frozen"- have sex at ovulation and then IVF with my frozen embryos. If you have a fertility dr they can prescribe you a 'trigger shot' for ovulation and monitor your uterus lining and follicles so then know EXACTLy when to trigger your ovulation and tell you EXACTLY when to get your grove on (i.e., 7am on Thursday morning). Hoping one or both methods work this time!

So far, my DH and I are only in our first month TTC so I don't even know if I'm preggo yet, but we tried every other day for about a week, while also using the ov kit, so I knew I ovulated on day 19. Also, we use missionary with my feet up over his shoulders (which is our "lucky" position anyway since it's the only way I can climax with intercourse) so I just stay on my back with hips propped up for a while, so fingers crossed...

I'm right there with you. we are TTC, meanwhile, my best friend, my niece, a cousin, my sister-in-law, and 2 co-workers get pregnant(only one planned, rest of them "OMG what am i going to do?) I think missionary and doggie style is the best choice for ttc, generally I like woman on top and my fiance does too but we have been ttc for about a year and a 1/2 with no success so now we are going to do missionary and doggie style, especially doggie style because I have a tipped uterus per my RE! I just finished my last pill of Femara today and I have an ultrasound this coming Friday and if any follicles matured I'm getting an HCG shot to induce ovulation and then we are suppose to have sex every other day for the next 4 to 5 days. I want to be a mommy and he wants to be a daddy so hopefully it works. Illania - not to scare you or anything, but I got off the pill November of last year (also the same month I got married). We went through a lot of lifestyle changes afterwards (ie. moving and I gained about 30 pounds) I would recommend going to the OB (if you haven't already) to make sure everything is okay. I was just diagnosed with PCOS (Polycycstic Ovary Syndrome) and haven't had a period in almost a year. Partly because I gained weight and partly because the move put a lot of stress on me. My husband and I have 5 kids (4 his, 1 mine) and with all of the changes the added stress caused the PCOS. Anyone TTC should get checked out by their OB. My OB actually put me on medicine (not the pill or fertility meds) to help my period get started. I just started my period this past weekend after being on the meds for a couple months. Also, I would recommend getting in shape first. I am still working on the getting in shape. I am trying to lose the 30 lbs I put on. The dr said that taking the meds and losing the weight should help get my period started again. (So far it's worked) Praying for you and good luck to all!!

when I got pregnant with my 3 yr old., it was in the end of the 2nd month and i didnt do any of the pillow stuff or anything. With the baby i am pregnant with now(14 weeks & 1 day) it was in the 1st almost 2nd month and I wasnt even TTC.. so I definately believe that when you TRY and try, you get way too worked up & start to stress and thats when you dont end up pregnant. You are more calm & relaxed when you are not thinking about trying to have a baby.

Position doesn't really matter. Plenty of teenage girls get pregnant in the back seat of a Cadillac doing who knows what, and they dont' sit on pillows or anything else. Any time you have sex its a 30% chance. Sperm do stay in the woman's body for 2 days, and the egg floats around for 3 or 4 days waiting, so as long as you're within a few days before and after ovulation, you'll eventually get there.

Also any position works as well except, woman on top in the seated position allows seman to flow back out. More importantly, have an orgasm! Yeah I said it, having an orgasm helps. I made a deal with my husband. With TTC you go into sex thinking just that, we HAVE to conceive! There's no romance in that and the pressure in on. So when we have sex, we get to do it however he wants to and then the next time I get to incorporate baby making methods. That way I feel like I am doing all I can while TTC and he feels good so he achieves his other manly motives. :)

My husband and I were not trying to conceive but we were also not exactly trying to prevent a pregnancy either. We figured whatever happens, happens and we would be happy either way. In late November 2010 I became pregnant with my 1st, and I happen to know the exact day the baby was conceived. We had sex doggy style (which later I read is good for trying to conceive a boy) and then a couple hours later we had sex with me on top. The girl on top position seems not to be relevant to conceiving but I guess sex that second time just helped push sperm to the egg, possibly from the doggy style earlier. Because of our schedules, we do not have sex often so it seemed like a miracle that the one day we have sex twice is the one day that I got pregnant but the timing was obviously right. I'm not 21 weeks pregnant and I'm thrilled!!! Good luck to everyone trying to conceive =)

I read some where that it takes 72 hours for a man's sperm to be mature enough to have the strength to reach the egg. My husband and I have been trying for five months now, and I had a chemical pg from january to april. I know stress is a small factor in why we haven't concieved yet. Things are starting to lighten up and I am keeping my hopes up. By the way I'm 35 in third marriage and have not been pregnant yet. I am praying we are blessed soon enough. Plus I have fertural twins that run in my family, so the older I get the more my chances are. EVEN if you don't care about the sex of your baby it has given people, including myself, great advance about TTC. I highly reccomend this book to anyone that is having trouble ttc.

I heard he has to be on top or from behind. Also, after reading some of these no one has mentioned PreSeed. A lube that is suppose to help you out. We are only at our first month TTC but we used it and I'm hoping that in 2 weeks I will have a positive sign, if not I will just keep trying, it's only our first month. Hi, me and my husband are 25 years old we have been married for 6years, since 2005 we have been TTC and no luck we went to the doctors and they both told us that there is nothing wrong with us. We have sex a couple times a month but no luck at all. We really want a family and we have been trying so hard. We do the ovulation kits and I know when I ovulate and my AF is always on tim are we doing something wrong please Somone help us. :(

hi me and my partner are ttc for the last 3months he is now on wellman to boost fertility i was just wondering they say to lay on your back for 30-45min but every time i do it leaks straight away so i lay on my side and it doesnt come out will this help to consive or not also is there any other things to help get pregnant. i already have 1 boy after 5 miscarages it took 5 years to get him and i dont want it to tae that long again please help

my partner and i been trying to get pregnant for the past 4 months!! i been on birth control (deppo) since 2008, i recently got off, may 2011. i just started gettin my period this January 2012. but its not regular. does that affect my ovulation day? is the birth control still affecting my body cells?

After TTC for nine months, my hubby and I did it with me on my hands and knees with him entering from behind and voila it worked! I know that was it since that was the only way we tried this month. doc never mentioned a tipped uterus.
