New Pregnancy Suit More Realistically Simulates Pregnancy
We’ve all heard about sympathy pregnancies, but now dads can actually experience pregnancy (or something like it) with the new Mommy Tummy. According to Time, researchers from Japan’s Kanagawa Institute of Technology have created a pregnancy-simulating vest with more bells and whistles than the typical “pregnancy suit.” The vest fills up with water (in just 120 seconds!) so that it weighs the same amount as a baby belly would, and it also has mechanism that mimics what it feels like when baby kicks. To “calm” the kicking, dads have to rub the belly, which activates sensors in the vest. Plus, guys can finally understand what it’s like to have boobs! The chest area of the vest fills up with water too so that your guy can realize how uncomfortable heavy pregnancy breasts can actually be. Interested? Well, unfortunately the vest is not available in the US -- the creators are hoping to introduce the product to hospitals and pregnancy classes in Japan. But if it comes here eventually, we’d love to try it out.
What do you think of this new vest? Would you make your partner wear it so he can see what you’re going through?
