Woman Lies Upside-Down for Three Months to Prevent a Miscarriage
No, she’s not Spiderwoman, but Donna Kelly, a UK woman who had suffered numerous miscarriages, had to lay upside down for three months so she wouldn’t lose her baby. According to UK’s The Telegraph, Kelly had a weakened cervix from her first pregnancy and when she was five months along with her second child, her doctors told her that she was at risk of miscarrying again. She worked with a medical expert specializing in recurring miscarriages to create less pressure on her cervix as her baby kept getting bigger. To get the right positioning, she spent 24 hours a day in a hospital bed that was tilted with her feet pointing upwards. She stayed in bed the whole time and only was able to leave to go to the bathroom.
Looks like the method worked because Kelly gave birth to her daughter, Amelia, via c-section. The baby was six weeks premature, but she went home after two weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Whoa! Would you ever consider doing this if you were in her position?
