Hey mamas, have your pocketbooks been feeling lighter? The Department of Agriculture just released its annual report, and it says raising a child born in 2010 to age 18 will cost a whopping $226,920 -- that’s a 2 percent increase from 2009. (And can you believe that, in 1960, raising a child in a middle-income family was $25,000?) Housing, child care and education, and food were the biggest costs. And that doesn’t even include college tuition. Wow!
