Would You Go Through Anything for Baby? Photo: Thinkstock / The Bump
We know there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for baby, and 56-year-old Swedish supermom Eva Ottosson is a serious prime example of that. Eva’s 25-year-old daughter, Sara, was born without a uterus, and the two have decided to undergo the first ever mother-daughter womb transplant. The only attempt at a womb transplant was made in 2000 between two strangers in Saudi Arabia and failed after a couple of months. Eva and Sara’s surgery is slated for next year, and doctors are hoping that this time things will be different, since both mother and daughter share genes. If successful, the Ottosson family will have made groundbreaking progress in fertility treatments, opening up a whole new door for mamas-to-be. Talk about inspiration!
