Jessica Simpson’s Super High Heels -- Safe During Pregnancy? Photo: PRphotos / The Bump
Whoa! Jessica Simpson was recently sighted sporting sky-high (leopard print) heels and catching some flack for it, since she’s expecting. So what’s the deal -- are high heels okay or not?
“There’s no medical reason not to wear high heels -- they won’t cause miscarriage or preterm labor or anything like that,” says Dr. Daniel Roshan, MD, OBGYN at Rosh Maternal Fetal Medicine in New York City in a recent interview for The Bump. “But your center of gravity changes during pregnancy and you’re more likely to fall in them.”
And it seems you could get otherwise injured. According to the Daily Mail, Victoria Beckham, slipped a disc after her pregnancy, and she was seen wearing some of the highest heels we’ve ever seen.
