Recall Alert: Dream on Me Drop-Side Cribs

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Dream On Me recalled about 22,000 drop-side cribs late last night because the drop-side rail hardware can break or fail, causing entrapment, suffocation, laceration and fall hazards. The recall applies to both full-size and portable drop-side cribs, and the CPSC knows of 69 incidents involving the cribs. The cribs are made of wood and come painted or stained in black, cherry, dark brown, natural, white and pink, and have been sold at Toys “R” Us, Walmart, Target and Amazon.com.

Below is a list of the affected models. You’ll find the model number and “Dream On Me” printed on a label on the inside of one of the end panels (full-size cribs) or on the mattress board (portable cribs).
Full-size cribs: 613, 615, 616, 617, 619, 628, 639
Portable cribs: 621, 625, 627

If you have one of the affected models, stop using it immediately and contact Dream On Me for replacement information. Consumers with full-size models will be given a free kit (starting June 30) that will immobilize the drop-side rail, and moms with the portable models will receive a free replacement portable crib with fixed sides (starting in mid-July). Contact Dream On Me at (877) 201-4317 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or visit its website for more information.
