Q&A: Picking a name for my baby when the gender is a surprise?

I want the gender of my baby to be a surprise. Is it better to pick one gender-neutral name or one for each gender?

The answer here really depends on you and your partner. There’s no right or wrong way to go about this, as long as you both weigh the pros and cons to each route and go with what works for you. One perk to picking out a gender-neutral name is that you can begin to associate baby with that name throughout your pregnancy. Sure, you may not know the gender yet, but you won’t have to refer to your little one as “the baby,” or even “it,” the whole time. And by the time baby arrives, you’ll have already gotten used to calling them by their name. That said, some cultures actually believe that referring to a baby by name before birth is bad luck; so if this is the case with your family, this might not be the way to go.

Of course, not everyone can find one gender-neutral name that suits them. So if you’re not really into any, you should probably focus on finding a few boy and girl names you absolutely love and letting nature do the rest. Look at it this way: It will definitely add to the fun and surprise of delivery day.

Either way, it’s important to start researching early and decide on a name you love. Need some inspiration? Use our Baby Naming Tool to get started. http://www.thebump.com/nymbler/

Q&A: Picking a name for my baby when the gender is a surprise?

We did not find out what we were having with my now 2 year old son. We brought a list of boy names and girl names with us to the hospital for the big arrival day. We pretty much had a girl's name and boy's name picked out either way but we did bring a list of both.

There's no right or wrong way to go. Depends on what you like! I personally do not like gender neutral names. We had a boy and girl's name picked out for our first surprise. We had a boy our first time. We're keeping it a surprise again. So we have the girl's name from last time (changed the middle name) and we're in the process of picking a boy's name for our second surprise. Have fun!

Not everyone can find a suitable name for them. So, if you should focus on looking for a job that you absolutely will love some of the boys and girls name. For nature!Best Swiss Rolex Replica
