Your Baby: Week 42

Time for another review of your home's baby-proofing! In addition to being incredibly mobile (make sure all your staircases are gated!), baby can now easily pick up small objects with his thumb and forefinger, so make sure things he could choke on (grapes, pennies, etc.) aren't within his reach. At mealtime, only serve baby food that's very soft or can dissolve in water, like cooked veggies, cereal, and cut-up fruit -- this will also help prevent choking.

Ready, set, go!
Baby just keeps moving faster! Prepare yourself for some intense playtimes as baby scoots all around the house and puts anything he can get his hands on into his mouth. As long as you keep him in your eyesight whenever he's on the loose, though, it's fine to let him explore -- after all, that's the best way for him to learn!

To-do:
> Enjoy some quality time with your partner
> Introduce new finger foods
> Start a mommy blog

[ tip ] Lay newspaper around the foot of baby's high chair to make cleaning up after meals easier. Now that he's able to grab and throw small objects, expect things to get a little (okay, or a lot) messier.
