Baby week 40

Your Baby Is 40 Weeks Old!

As baby's creeping skills continue to improve, it's time to double-check your baby-proofing (watch those sharp edges) and invest in some baby shoes. It's best to let baby go barefoot whenever it's safe, but shoes protect baby's feet from splinters, sharp objects, and rough surfaces.

One step at a time
If baby's not ready to walk, there's no reason to force him. Just keep reminding yourself that the age at which he learns to walk isn't related to his intelligence or other potential, and let him develop at his own rate (as long as your doctor says everything checks out normally, of course). Allow plenty of time for him to practice his moves, and offer a hand if you notice frustration setting in.

To-do:
> Drive safely
> Water down juice
> Cover sharp edges

[ tip ] Whole milk yogurt and cheese are okay for baby, but cow's milk shouldn't be part of his diet before his first birthday. Stick to formula or breast milk for now.
