Oran

Oran is a boy’s name of Irish origin. It is the Anglicized form of Odhrán, the name of seventeen Irish saints, including the patron saint of Waterford. Both Odhrán and Oran can mean “little pale green one,” a meaning that may elicit a chuckle or two from anyone familiar with the Emerald Isle. Oddly enough, Oran is also said to mean “dark-haired,” “sallow,” “greyish brown,” and “tan,” which are wonderfully diverse and contradictory menagerie of meanings. The great news is that if you’re taking Oran’s meaning literally, it will suit all babies, not just little green aliens.
